The Best Restaurants in Lexington, Kentucky | Eater Nashville

"Distilled Restaurant & Bourbon Bar’s tight, Southern-inspired menu is designed to complement its extensive offering of America’s native spirit. Start with the lettuces, served with creamy pistachio dressing and Reggiano, followed by a bowl of low country she crab soup, topped with a corn fritter and caviar. Finally, enjoy the porcini dry rub filet; served with Okinawan sweet potatoes and asparagus, the fan favorite also boasts a crispy country ham chip that adds a savory crunch. Don’t forget to grab a cocktail or glass of bourbon at one of the restaurant’s copper leaf-topped bars." - Lennie Omalza

This place was amazing from start to finish. The hostess was welcoming and professional, the bartender was friendly and helpful and our server was super friendly and informative. The chef came out and spoke with us after we complimented the food so much and spent time talking about his love for food with us. The food was out of this world. By far the best meatballs I’ve ever eaten. The steaks were perfectly cooked and seasoned. The sides accompanied the main dishes and almost stole the show in ways. The cocktails were tasty and they did not skimp on the alcohol. The prices match the quality of the food and the level of service you expect for a nice night out. Locals are lucky to have this gem. Thank you for a memorable experience.

Phenomenal service, excellent food and top drawer cocktails. An all-around amazing experience. The chef came to our table and ensured everything was to our liking. Delia was a fantastic waitress! Highly recommend.

Distilled on Jefferson is absolutely FIRE. Green Goddess and Wedge Salad perfect. The best 2 chicken dishes in lex, Smoked airline chicken breast, and the simple "fried chicken" Is not your ordinary fried chicken (check out pics for reference). Then that Porcini dry rub filet is one of the most savory dishes I've ever had, and we eat at a LOT of great restaurants. UNBELIEVABLE, and very surprised every time we are there it's never crowded like Ruby's, Carsons, Tony's, etc. TRY IT!!

Enjoyed a fantastic birthday dinner at Distilled on Jefferson. Food and service were terrific. The atmosphere was relaxed with a sense of Lexington sophistication. Being from the Chesapeake Bay Area, we weren’t sure about the She Crab soup but we gave it a shot. It was absolutely delicious! We enjoyed the mussels and porcini dusted filet for our entrees. Both were exceptional. My filet was so flavorful and tender, I could cut it with a fork. Also had a huge bonus in getting to chat with the Chef for a few minutes. We will definitely return in a future visit to Lexington and highly recommend Distilled on Jefferson if you’re looking for a high quality dinner experience!

I was really looking forward to dining at Distilled on Jefferson after reading so many great reviews. Maybe we caught it on an off night? We started with the she-crab soup, which we typically love, but unfortunately, it was so salty I couldn’t finish mine. The highlight of the evening was the lettuce salad with pistachios—unique and delicious. The savory dressing paired well with the wild greens, and the chopped pistachios added the perfect crunch. For the main course, we had the brined fried chicken. Sadly, it was also overly salty, and placing the salad greens and chow chow directly on top took away the crispiness of the batter. It’s a charming spot with potential, but overall, the food was far too salty—and that’s coming from someone who usually enjoys a generous pinch.

Great all-around experience. Great food, great service, and great atmosphere. We had the Brussels and pork belly appetizer. Delicious! The drinks were on point, the entrees were amazing. Our waiter was very conscientious of our food allergies and even recommended an alternative to one item that had onions on it. We highly recommend this spot and it is a must visit if you are in the Lexington area.

Dinner was excellent. The she crab soup and wedge salad hit the spot. The special appetizer was amazing and the pear tarte was impressive. How many times have you ever seen pear on the dessert menu? The Caddish cocktail was a new take on Mezcal and really showed the effort to craft their own drink menu. The staff were super attentive, personable, and knew the menu options. Very engaged in making sure we had an excellent dining experience! All food came out timely and hot, we will definitely return. This was high-end dining without the disappointment or snobby attitudes. We truly loved it.

What a great experience here at Distilled! Kaylee was a fantastic server. (I hope I spelled it correctly.) It's such a cozy little place with absolutely wonderful food and service. I had reservations for my wife and I as a surprise birthday dinner date for her. We got seated very quickly, being we were about 45 minutes early. Kaylee came directly over and got started. Starting with drinks and fresh bread. Wonderful! Appetizer was pork belly brussel sprouts. They are 100% the best I've had. They beat Jeff Ruby's 10 to 1. Following with the pork chop entree and Henry Burger. I can't express how delicious it all was. Kaylee even tossed in a complimentary desert for my birthday girl! If you want an exceptional meal for an affordable price and some of the (hands down) best service you'll ever receive, get to Distilled.
