The Best Restaurants in Lexington, Kentucky | Eater Nashville

"Distilled Restaurant & Bourbon Bar’s tight, Southern-inspired menu is designed to complement its extensive offering of America’s native spirit. Start with the lettuces, served with creamy pistachio dressing and Reggiano, followed by a bowl of low country she crab soup, topped with a corn fritter and caviar. Finally, enjoy the porcini dry rub filet; served with Okinawan sweet potatoes and asparagus, the fan favorite also boasts a crispy country ham chip that adds a savory crunch. Don’t forget to grab a cocktail or glass of bourbon at one of the restaurant’s copper leaf-topped bars." - Lennie Omalza

Dinner was good but not great. The restaurant itself is beautiful and the atmosphere is pretty nice and everybody was extremely cordial. I would have rated it higher but we felt that the execution was off. The appetizers just weren't that exciting. The tuna tartar was cut in to chunky and the octopus needed to be marinated. They both lacked flavor. The pork milanese was fantastic and I would recommend it. The airline chicken was severely overcooked. As a closing note the vanilla Old-Fashioned cocktail was very very good. The overall dinner and experience did not live up to the price point.

This place was amazing from start to finish. The hostess was welcoming and professional, the bartender was friendly and helpful and our server was super friendly and informative. The chef came out and spoke with us after we complimented the food so much and spent time talking about his love for food with us. The food was out of this world. By far the best meatballs I’ve ever eaten. The steaks were perfectly cooked and seasoned. The sides accompanied the main dishes and almost stole the show in ways. The cocktails were tasty and they did not skimp on the alcohol. The prices match the quality of the food and the level of service you expect for a nice night out. Locals are lucky to have this gem. Thank you for a memorable experience.

Phenomenal service, excellent food and top drawer cocktails. An all-around amazing experience. The chef came to our table and ensured everything was to our liking. Delia was a fantastic waitress! Highly recommend.

Distilled on Jefferson is absolutely FIRE. Green Goddess and Wedge Salad perfect. The best 2 chicken dishes in lex, Smoked airline chicken breast, and the simple "fried chicken" Is not your ordinary fried chicken (check out pics for reference). Then that Porcini dry rub filet is one of the most savory dishes I've ever had, and we eat at a LOT of great restaurants. UNBELIEVABLE, and very surprised every time we are there it's never crowded like Ruby's, Carsons, Tony's, etc. TRY IT!!

A lovely setting with expert staff and sublime food. I treated myself on Thanksgiving 2024 and returned a year later for my birthday in 2025. I'm from out of state, and I was amazed that my server from 2024 remembered me and said she was happy to see me again. Staggering. The staff are career servers, and they are so kind and accommodating. Every course I have had over three meals has been better than the equivalent type of food in any high end restaurant that I have visited in Lexington or anywhere else in a long time. It's difficult to explain, but I was always confident that the staff recommendations would please me, and each one did. Thank you Katherine, Jeremy, and Tabby for three wonderful meals that will stay in my memory for a long time. The restaurant was generally calm and relaxing, but my only small complaint was that on my two most recent visits, there was an extremely loud and annoying person at the table along the back wall. On Thanksgiving, the male diner in question burst into song a few times! I was alone, so this was particularly distracting. Don't know what the staff could have done about it, however.

Great all-around experience. Great food, great service, and great atmosphere. We had the Brussels and pork belly appetizer. Delicious! The drinks were on point, the entrees were amazing. Our waiter was very conscientious of our food allergies and even recommended an alternative to one item that had onions on it. We highly recommend this spot and it is a must visit if you are in the Lexington area.

Enjoyed a fantastic birthday dinner at Distilled on Jefferson. Food and service were terrific. The atmosphere was relaxed with a sense of Lexington sophistication. Being from the Chesapeake Bay Area, we weren’t sure about the She Crab soup but we gave it a shot. It was absolutely delicious! We enjoyed the mussels and porcini dusted filet for our entrees. Both were exceptional. My filet was so flavorful and tender, I could cut it with a fork. Also had a huge bonus in getting to chat with the Chef for a few minutes. We will definitely return in a future visit to Lexington and highly recommend Distilled on Jefferson if you’re looking for a high quality dinner experience!

We were in town for my wife's conference & we decided on Distilled on Jefferson for a dinner out w our 1.5yr old. It was delicious. I had the Bistro Medallions that a slight spiciness but perfect addition to the meal that I thought was prepared perfectly. A great portion size as I'm an eater, finished it & left fulfilled. My wife had the Pork Milanase that she absolutely loved. Delicious taste & also a good portion size. The specialty drinks were also very good as I'm a bourbon drinker & appreciated the options for seasonal flavored drinks. The atmosphere was pleasant, good lighting, family friendly. Great staff, accommodating & attentive.
