The Hottest Barbecue Restaurants Around D.C. | Eater DC

"Formerly part of the Oklahoma Joe’s chain of restaurants, District BBQ is now a standalone spot doing its own thing. In addition to serving saucy burnt ends (textbook meat candy), well-seasoned spare ribs, and juicy brisket, this innovator has woven in some extras. Customers are welcome to bring in beer from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Mondays, and the restaurant serves halal brisket and chicken on Sundays for those with dietary restrictions." - Eater Staff

Google
I would give a negative star if I can. Never have I’ve been so disappointed at food. I can’t believe I paid $30 for a few thin pre sliced and extremely dry brisket… the picture should speak for itself.

Melissa P.

Google
This was a first time experience and will not plan to return. Spent $80.00 after taxes for the family meal. The brisket was tasteless and grey. The pulled chicken and pork were dry. Lastly, the burnt tips were nothing more than squares of what appeared to be beef roast…there was nothing charred and flavorful about them. The baked beans, however, tasted good. Overall very disappointing. Please don’t waste your money.

Google
It was only my third visit but I plan to come back before long. I got the pulled pork with cole slaw and beans. I used the original BBQ sauce which tasted great. We also got smoked wings and brisket. Wings are less expensive than others around and meatier. Everything smelled delicious, especially the brisket.

Google
Picked up half pound brisket for $16, no sides. The Brisket was like sliced roast beef in my opinion. Quality of meat is fresh, but for the price and the cut I probably won't be repeating. I've had better briskets, this spot just isn't it lol.

Google
This place was really good before Covid. Ever since their portion sizes have become significantly smaller while increasing the overall price for the food. I also order a large fry but they gave me a small but did not correct their mistake after I had brought it to their attention. Overall their food is good but is not justified by the price.

Chris C.

Google
I’ve only been to this place twice but unfortunately both times the quality of food was terrible. I was the only one in the restaurant, the food was served cool, and there were black flakes coming out of the soda machine.

Reezey P.

Google
Ordered the chopped brisket sandwich to go. Was very very disappointed. Portion was extremely small and beef was dry, served on a cold potato bun. Found a 16” brown hair inside the chopped brisket. Overall a failed experience.

Brigitte G.

Google
🍖😋 We enjoyed their bbq. 🍬 We just wish they had a sweet bbq sauce and more side dishes. 👥😁 Cashier/Workers were friendly and patient. 🍽 Restaurant was clean and organized. 🇺🇸👌 Offers a Military Discount.

Yelp
I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with side of potato salad. The service was quick and the pulled pork was excellent! The potato salad was also something I'll come back for. Nice selection of serve-yourself BBQ sauces to chose from. The restaurant was clean and plenty of seating. My favorite pulled pork sandwich since Red Hot & Blue closed in Manassas.

Christopher S.

Yelp
I was disappointed. I guess it's new management. The prices are crazy high for the amount of meat you get. The sandwiches are the size of little biscuits. McDonald's has bigger buns for the kids meals than this place. 10 dollars for just a small sandwich. The sides are smaller than anywhere like it You can get better portions for the price at Mission BBQ . Not enough food for the price. Sad. Not coming back.

Yelp
Bbq beans were the best part of the meal. Brisket sandwich was on the small side. I found it pricy for what I ordered compared to my normal bbq haunts in NC. Market difference, I guess.

Yelp
Routinely out of smoked half chicken at 5:30 PM. This has happened last 4 times I've been there. Often do not answer the phone so I could check before wasting time going there. This issue has been going on for years

Dan C.

Yelp
There is no one ever in the restaurant. It's empty everytime I drive by which is almost daily since I live close by. There is like 1 guy that works in there so the food has to be sitting around. They really need to sell or rebrand the place. They can't be making money.

Chris H.

Yelp
Do you ever go to a restaurant and afterwards tell yourself never to go there again? Yet you go again and and instantly regret it? That is my experience with District BBQ. The bad: pretty much everything. I saw that the brisket came from a bag. Was it boiled in the bag? Microwaved? Who knows? All I can tell you is that it was cold and flavorless. The ribs, dry and tough. The Mac and Cheese was passable, but had cold spots (microwaved?). $30+ for this. It is definitely not worth the price at even half. I've been there four times since they opened and regretted it each time. Save yourself the trouble and expense, go elsewhere.

Everett D.

Yelp
So I thought I'd try this place one more time and ordered 1/2 rack of ribs and hope they were going to be good. Well they were tough, and imho did not stay on the grill or smoker long enough. You couldn't bite through them and the amount of fat was in the extreme. Flavor wasn't there and seems that they pre make portions to deliver faster. Only one person seemed to be working and only a couple of customers were eating there. The place looked ok but was not bustling with experience. Seemed like a low expectation place and the food reflects the atmosphere

Yelp
When District BBQ first opened I heard great things about it but never made it to the restaurant, and bet the years that chatter died down and I stopped hearing about it all together. I happened to be over in the area and needed to grab lunch so I thought now would be a good time. I drove over expecting to see a lunch rush but that was not the case and it was empty except for 1 table of about 5 people that were eating and talking. The restaurant is nice plenty of lighting, seating, and pictures of BBQ with award banners all over and that great smell of wood burning so could it be all that bad and maybe I missed the lunch rush? So I head to the counter and see menu above and it's a limited menu and feels like it's geared towards more of a large family/ catering clientele. As I am looking it over I hear a voice from somewhere behind the counter yell that they will be there in a minute. So after a minute or so a tall employee appears and asks, "do I know what I want"? No welcome or hello and I proceed to to ask a few questions about the menu and he seems irritated but my questions so I wrap it up quickly and order a half rack of St. Louis Ribs (6 bone), onion rings, Mac n' cheese, and a drink for $35. I paid and grabbed my cup and he said he will call me when it's ready. About 10 minutes later he yells out my number and I go grab my meal. The meal look great but I felt it might be a bit expensive for the portions but I dug right in. The ribs were dry, lightly seasoned, and not very meaty and I mean like they were cut thin to use the meat elsewhere. The sauces helped give the ribs some flavor. The onion were what you would expect and the Mac n' cheese had good flavor but was nothing special. All in all between the employee with the dry, I don't want to be here personality, the quality of the food, and the cost to portion ratio I won't return to District BBQ anytime soon. There are better chain BBQ restaurants around that don't cost as much and have better portions and better menu items.

Shannon J.

Yelp
This was our go to for bbq. Tonight there is a sign that they are now a Craftworx taproom. Assuming that's new ownership . We ordered our usual, and it wasn't prepared the same way. Bbq brisket sand with the add on cheese and an onion ring in the sandwich, there is even a picture of it on the menu board. Arrives with no onion ring. Went up and asked the cook for the onion ring and he said they don't do that any more, and "if you want the onion ring you can order a basket because only like 5 onion rings come in an order any way". What?? If that's his best sales pitch he needs a new job. The meal was fine but it did seem like there was less brisket on the sandwiches. We may shop around for a new bbq joint. Disappointing .

Lynn F.

Yelp
Heard good things so stopped for lunch. Pork had no flavor and was dry so had to put on lots of sauce. The bun was stale and hard on one side.

Yelp
Bbq! I went here for the burnt ends, so many people recommended them! Very tender and burnt but moist and fatty. I got the meat with a side of fries. Portion size not huge but the flavor was excellent and just right amount. They had about 7 or 8 sauce choices, I tried most of them with the fries or ends, but they didn't really need any additional flavoring. The fries were already spiced with a salty powered and the meat was too juicy to need sauce. I ate inside, food was a few minutes to wait for as they made a fresh batch of fries. You go to a counter to order and later they call your number to go and pick up when ready. Can sit inside or outside table, pretty well spaced out. The only negative was that inside the restaurant was surprisingly smoky, air not filtering properly from the meat smokers. Even with the vaulted ceiling, the smoke was getting down to person level. Okay for a short visit but may irritate people that are sensitive to smoke. Tasty, would visit again!

Yelp
Had a fantastic dinner last night. Ordered carry out and was ready within 20 minutes or less. Pulled pork BBQ sandwiches, 1/2 rack of ribs, Mac & cheese, French fries, onion rings, baked beans & Chocolate chip cookies. Flavors & seasoning was perfect. Looking forward to having another delicious meal!!!

Yelp
I dined at lunch here on April 10. I ordered a brisket sandwich, potato salad, beans and cole slaw. Diners in front of me in line were lamenting they no longer had iced tea, and that is a shame for a barbecue restaurant. The staff were friendly and the restaurant was very clean. Service was prompt. The food was disappointing. The brisket was dry, a bit chewy and tasteless. The potato salad tasted like something my Mom bought in a carton at Safeway when I was a kid. The coleslaw had a bit of Russian dressing on it, which was promising, but there was water in the bottom of the bowl. Baked beans were good, the highlight of the meal. I tried four BBQ sauces, the best of which was Carolina vinegar. The house sauce and spicy sauce were edible but just pedestrian. The Alabama tasted like a bottled dressing you can purchase and dislike, anywhere. Sauces are offered for diners to take what they want, which is good. I am thinking there are other, better BBQ places in Manassas and Fairfax, many of which have food locally cooked and this chain just cannot keep up. Great location and friendly staff though.

Yelp
I visited District KC BBQ the first week they were open. There was a long ass line to get up to the counter to order. The dining area was packed. I ordered 'cue to go: Brisket, pulled pork, burnt ends, a sausage link, green beans, and Mac n' cheese. Plus some small soufflé cups with spicy sauces. Everything was pretty good! I will be back! #DistrictKCBBQ

Yelp
Was visiting family in Bristow VA and decided to bring food. Popped into to District KC BBQ and ordered (2) "Two meat dinner plates". Never checked the bag. The portions were so small and I was so embarrassed, ended up taking my family member out to a late lunch instead. Have had free samples at Costco that were larger than District's portions. Definitely a lesson learned! Don't waist your time with this place. Look for Mission instead!

Yelp
New to VA, love BBQ so I figured I'd give this place a try. It definitely looks cool on the inside. Although the guy working was very friendly to the customer in-front of me, he was pretty dry with me. Didn't say hello/thank you and just handed me my bag at the end. While making my food, I saw them bring out a bag where my brisket was in. They then put in some sort of stirring thing than gave me my brisket sandwich. The buns on my sandwich were warm, but the brisket was COLD. Not room temperature, but COLD. Even if it was warm, I noticed that it was way too salty. I've never had this issue with any kind of brisket before. I couldn't eat half of it before realizing this couldn't be right and decided to get something else. If you're in VA, and want BBQ, I highly recommend The Bone BBQ in Manassas. Minus their pulled pork (wasn't a big fan) their BBQ was some of the best I've had in my life. And if you go there; their Mac and cheese is a MUST try. And a friendly staff, unlike this place. And don't be fooled by the menu prices on the pics posted here or their website.

Kunta F.

Yelp
I went to the Bristow location today, and it is closed, even though they are supposed to be open on Sunday's.

Yelp
Had been going to the one in Falls Church but then they stopped serving pork then they closed. Was nearby around lunch time so stopped in to see how they are doing. First thing, it smells great as soon as you walk in the door. Pulled pork is on the menu as are their best beans. So good. Love the physical upgrades to the seating area over how it was when they opened. Great food, they take Apple Pay, and a friendly manager. Can't wait to come back.
google avatar

Marty J.

Yelp
In fairness, did not try the food. Any BBQ place worth its salt has individual platters with 2 sides and cornbread. It's that way in KC, Texas and anywhere that serves BBQ. This place is pretty much a la carte everything.
google avatar

Sandi S.

Yelp
I'm glad I found this place. I was headed for Panera Bread when I saw it from the main road. So I made a quick upturn and headed in. I'm a big snob when it comes to coke slaw. I've never found any place or any one who makes it as good as my mom....until today. The coke slaw is pretty good. The bbq is on point. The staff were super friendly and the environment is comfortable. Music is great, not obnoxious so it makes dining in enjoyable. I will definitely be back :)

Yelp
We have been going here since it opened and have always been happy with the services and food. Sometime during or after then pandemic, the business was sold. Now the menu is far more limited. But this is not the issue that occurred. We have always ordered pretty much the same thing and last night it would seem that, in the owners/manager's opinion (not sure who it was) we didn't order enough. In fact, this individual chased us down outside to express to us his displeasure. Even went so far as to tell us not to come back. Seriously, we have been loyal customers of this place since it opened and were constantly looking for it to reopen after the pandemic and now we need to spend money according to what the establishment thinks we need to spend. I will gladly take money business and money elsewhere.
google avatar

Alison C.

Yelp
Picked up a togo order of 6 ribs and mac n cheese, never ate here before but it definitely won't be the last. The ribs were amazing, the mac n cheese was to die for. It's not your run of the mill orange cheese, it's white and delicious.
google avatar

Jim L.

Yelp
Wasn't impressed with the menu selections or the quality of the brisket sandwich I bought, very bland with little to no taste. Still trying to figure out their bbq sauce situation, saw a Costco size bottle of Sweet baby Rays bbq sauce behind the counter while eating my lunch. I think they put SBR in their sauce dispenser and cheese it their own. Not going back anytime soon!

Yelp
This was our first time at this BBQ restaurant but the rest of our group had been there before, pre-COVID. My husband had been craving BBQ and I always want to go to a BBQ restaurant that has burnt ends on their menu. Sadly, we were all a bit disappointed with our meals. The "burnt ends" were just cubes of cut pork - a far cry from true burnt ends. They lacked the consistency and flavor of true burnt ends. I was extremely disappointed. The brisket was very good, but like everything else we ordered it lacked flavor. Their coleslaw was interesting...I couldn't quite place what they used for the sauce but it was definitely some kind of vinegar base. It didn't seem to have much (or any) mayonnaise to it. It wasn't bad - it was just ok. The pulled pork was good. They do NOT have cornbread on the menu, which should be against BBQ law! Overall, it was just ok. I definitely wouldn't go out of my way to go back. On top of everything, it was pretty pricey. 3-stars is probably a bit generous.

ben S.

Yelp
This was one of my favorite BBQ places to eat before COVID. Service and menu section was great. Now this place is just a sinking ship. Menu selection is very limited and pricey. All my favorites are no longer on the menu. Service is SLOW with only 2 people running the restaurant. Management needs make adjustments to the food selection quickly. My suggestion is add items that are less cost and labor intensive. A good selection of burgers and fries sold as a combo will help your business ride out the pandemic. Keep things simple and not limited to expensive items! Customers will continue to return!

Yelp
I'm not sure how long this has been in Bristow but this was our first time (and last) going here. My wife ordered the brisket salad and I had a burnt ends platter with cheesy potatoes, BBQ beans and corn bread. I used to travel a lot and would always try the local bbq places when I traveled. I've had great, good, okay and now bad. I'll fist give the good: brisket from my wife's salad was actually moist and tasted good. The cheese sauce to the potatoes was very good and the BBQ beans were really good. The okay: corn bread was okay. Nothing special. The bad: The burnt ends are hands down the worst bbq item I've ever tried. They were small, very fatty, chewy and dry. Nothing like true KC burnt ends or like any others I've had elsewhere. I have my wife one to try and she just kept chewing and chewing. It's the first bbq that I've ever thrown away without eating at least half. While the brisket on the salad was good, I think the salad was prepackaged and there was no room to mix in the dressing it brisket. Disappointing. The picture is of the burnt ends and if you look close, you can see the fat in them. Next time I'll go to Mission BBQ.

Yelp
I've visited twice. Both times were wonderful, staff is friendly and attentive, restaurant is spotless. First visit I had the Carolina sandwich, pulled pork, slaw and a vinegar sauce with beans on the side. The pulled pork was awesome, and I own my own smoker and make my own, so my standards are high. I didn't *love* the beans as they are a bit too sweet, but that's to MY standard...having lived all over the US in my life, they were perfect for what they are portraying, Kansas City BBQ. Second visit I had burnt ends. I loved it less than the pork, but this is not uncommon for me. My true BBQ love is pulled pork. The burnt ends were a bit fatty BUT delish. I had the slaw as a side, it was great on the sandwich. I look forward to visiting again soon and trying new things. I have yet to try the fries, I think the Alabama white sauce would be great on them.

Leigh A.

Yelp
Lousy!! Food was very pricey and barely edible . No ice for $2.00 fountain drink! Using Baby Rays bbq sauce! Not what they advertise. Oh and the sauce dispensers were clogged up and looked like the had never seen soap and water. Then you sit down and start looking at the overall filth. Gross is an understatement!! Oh and I forgot to mention the rude customer service.
google avatar

J E.

Yelp
I stopped in for lunch on a weekday... they were about half-full with patrons at the time I arrived. The cashier greeted me with a huge smile and a very friendly attitude. Since it was my first time there, she helped me pick my entrée and sides and she explained how various items were prepared.... She was VERY helpful, it made it easy to decide what to get! The items I got were even the way she explained them, so thanks! As for the brisket..... it's sliced very thin with not much fat and a slight smoke flavor... It was decent, but needed to be slathered in sauce. Their cole slaw is unique, interesting and really tasty. The cheesey potatoes were really nice and tasty (and cheesey too)! They even have pickles and jalapeños at the front to pick up. Their cornbread was nice; it's soft and moist without being like a sweet corn cake. And their sauces were really good, especially their mustard-style BBQ sauce. Their XXhot sauce (it's up front) is really hot, but also tasty. The place was nice and clean and the food was good overall, so I would definitely return!

Yelp
Solid 4 stars BBQ- 5 for Virginia since it's the best around. They slice their brisket to 1/8" which is just being cocky since KC standard is 1/4", but I have to tell you that it was still delicious. The brisket held up to the pull test and was not dried out at all- I inhaled the brisket. The burnt ends were how they needed to be- small cubes of meat candy. I had a couple bites that I disregarded where the fat hadn't rendered but overall still very solid burnt ends. The ribs had a great smokey flavor. I tend to like them cooked a little bit more and just dry rubbed, but they were still very good. For sides they have a lot of options and the green beans are not to be missed. The coleslaw is made with bbq sauce so just make sure that's okay prior to ordering. Also, I really love their dill pickles in the sides bar. Overall, this is a great BBQ destination in NVA.

Yelp
Use to be my go to spot for lunch to get BBQ, but because of covid half the menu is gone and prices went up. Basically they are 5 guys now of bbq everything is a la carte so if you go with 2 people expect to spend $35 which is ridiculous. RIP Districtbbq.........
google avatar

Mike R.

Yelp
I'm sure it was just a busy day so things were overlooked..... but, 1. Glad they are here and open 2. Food was cold! Ordered nachos and turkey plate and both were cold. Cold nachos can rarely be good. And cold BBQ isn't great either. 3. The XXX hot sauce is hot and good. 4. Processing time was slow, but understanding as it is a new place with new employees. 5. Baked beans were my favorite part of the meal as they were the only item served warm, and they had a good flavor.
google avatar

Nik S.

Yelp
It took me awhile to get around trying this place but i finally did and didn't leave like i missed anything. Its okay bbq but they did fail in a-lot of the basics. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with a side of beans and mac and cheese i also believed it came with cornbread. The problem i had with my meal is that it felt kind of mediocre and lacked alot of flavor. The bun used for the pulled pork sandwich was dry and seemed like it was close to expiration. The pork itself was also dry and lacked flavor even drenching it in the sauce might've helped a bit , but like i said in previous reviews! " you shouldn't have to drench your food in sauce for it to taste good". The mac and cheese was luke warm and too soft like it was overcooked. I loved the beans btw probably the best baked beans I've ever had! I wanted to love this place but it was just okay... Do I recommend you trying it? Sure but don't expect too much.

Yelp
I stopped in here on my way home from Manassas. I love some good BBQ. The place was really empty for 1 p.m. (only one other pair of customers dining in) The guy who took my order and made my food was great, place looked great, clean enough, etc. I made my order to go and planned to snack on it during my ride. I ordered the pulled chicken ala carte, no bun, just meat. I was highly anticipating a delicious explosion of flavor, but to my surprise, there was a disgusting chemical taste to it.......like charcoal lighter fluid or something similar is the only way I can explain it. I took 2 additional bites just to make sure it wasn't me and sure enough, It was not me. It was the meat. I even asked a friend to try it when I got home, and they said the same thing. It went in the trash as it was inedible. I was raised in TX, so I have been eating smoked BBQ my entire life, and I have never tasted anything like that. Definitely will not return. A+ for the service, but F for that nasty chicken. I also wanted to send an email privately vs. a public Yelp post, but there was no way to contact on the website or Facebook.

Natalee C.

Yelp
I picked up some food to go last night for my husband and I. When I walked in the place was empty but clean and inviting. When I got up to the counter to order I noticed that the prices were higher than I would have expected but hey, with the supply chain shortage I went with it. The two meat meal didn't come with sides so I had to purchase those separately. They were very small, pricey and bland ( I ordered the Mac and Cheese and Coleslaw). For the mets I went with brisket and pulled pork. They both had too much smoke, the pulled pork wasn't pulled, the brisket was thinner than Steakums and tasted horrible! Overall the portions were not worth the price and the heartburn my husband had to endure all night!

Lynn C.

Yelp
If you want good bbq DONT GO HERE drive another few miles down the road Food merely adequate and over priced, customer service extremely slow, pulled pork must be sitting in liquid when they put in on a bun it made the bun all wet and inedible

Jim F.

Yelp
I normally love BBQ but this place is a disappointment. Pulled pork was not pulled and looked like it came from hot water. Fries were spiced and just tasted like chemical to me. Dining room was especially smoky from the wood grill. This made it difficult to breathe and I now smell like mesquite. Could use some better ventilation. Didn't finish any portion and came in hungry. My wife sort of liked it so I added a star.

Yelp
BURNT ENDS. BURNT ENDS. BURNT ENDS. You must try their burnt ends. They're absolutely delicious -- filled with flavor and cooked perfectly. I loved their corn bread as well. I am so excited to have this bbq so close to home, because I foolishly kept driving to their other location! Their beans are to die for. I've never had anything like them. I don't eat beans, but I have theirs ONLY because its amazing. You must try them!
google avatar

Mike P.

Yelp
Such a fan!!! I happened in there on their first day... I'm from Austin, TX (where the best in BBQ lives) but ordered my meal with an open mind. I've been back a dozen times since OCT and love the food, the employees and the owner. He's made time for me pretty much every time I see him. Bonus point for my kids loving it too! Get the burnt ends, slaw and planets best beans - my go to meal. The sausage is savory and the smoked wings are bingeworthy!
google avatar

Paula M.

Yelp
The food was delicious. Place is clean and they have safety measures. Ordered to go and it was packed with care. Will definitely go back.
google avatar

Adrienne S.

Yelp
I work nearby and it just smells divine when they fire up their smoker! The staff is SUPER friendly. I like to try a little bit of everything and they are great about going a little off menu and add substitutions! The pickles are really great and the sauces are delish! I like the vinegar and the white then I add a shot of the xx spicy to it! The chocolate chip cookies taste great too!
google avatar

Jenae B.

Yelp
I was not a fan. I gave 2 stars because the wings were really good, how ever the Mac & cheese was tasteless. It was white, but if you're going to try to do something different with Mac & cheese it has to be right. It had the consistency of paste and no taste at all. I tried the burned ends because the concept seemed like something I'd enjoy but they were pretty tuff, so it was just eating over cooked meat. The baked beans also didn't have a taste. After I doctored them up with barbecue sauce and sugar they were eatable. Anyway good concepts but they all fell short for me.

Yelp
Last weekend my brother and I went to the farmers market hoping to score a craving for BBQ from one of the vendors that is usually there. We were disappointed not to find what we wanted, and the fleeting craving sort of passed us by. Well, it stuck around a bit and today we played the "hey want lunch? Cool, let's take a chance on BBQ" game. Having tried many chains nearby and in surrounding areas, I haven't found one I loved for my occasional craving. We decided to give it a try and order from District. Never having had burnt ends, I had to see what all of that was about. He ordered pulled pork, mac, and slaw. I'm glad I took the few pics I did before realizing I needed to because it was AWESOME and it disappeared quickly between the two of us (and salivating dogs who are still salty we did not share). The burnt ends were melt in your mouth good, tossed in delicious BBQ sauce. The tangy slaw was hard to pinpoint - it was cole slaw, but definitely with some sweetness, probably from some BBQ sauce mixed into it? I'm sure it might be described somewhere and my goofy ass just failed to read, but if I had to describe it on taste alone it would be cole slaw with some sweet BBQ mixed into it. I wish I had thought to get some corn bread, but now I know I have an option to go back to in order to try out even more of what I now like!

Warren C.

Yelp
Meh.... just go to mission bbq the extra 20 minutes is worth it. The atmosphere is better at mission as well as the service, menu options, and all round bbq. We walked in and we were the only ones in the restaurant with about 4 teenage hipsters watching us. As you can imagine, kind of awkward. They kept screaming cuss words which was extremely unprofessional, I'm not angel but in this kind of setting it's probably not a good idea. Decent serving sizes, pretty much the same price as mission, just not quite as good. Go to mission.... Not to mention 3 of them only bothered to wear masks below their noses, the one guy in the back wasn't wearing a mask at all..... so there's that....

Yelp
Eh... not that great. Pulled pork was bland and I doubt it's ever seen a smoker. Ribs about the same. Recommend The Bone first and then mission. This place comes in a distant 3rd for bbq in our area.

Yelp
Great barbecue place. Best around here. Had their smoked wings and pulled pork, couldn't be more pleased.

Yelp
Food and customer service is always excellent. So much better than MB. Our go to catering place whenever friends are gathering

Yelp
I was looking for a good bbq place nearby where I was working and I found it! Enjoyed a pulled pork sandwich and sides. I could smell the bbq soon as I stepped out of my car.

Yelp
We've tried this place 5 times and 3 were bad. Three strikes and your out. Ribs should fall of the bone they're so tender. My husbands ribs were so tough they couldn't even be pulled apart with his hands. Show leather was more pliable. We spent $40 on the 1 rack of ribs and a side so I went back to the restaurant. I know better than to be rude to people who make my food. So I patiently waited in line for the cashier to learn how to count change to the customer before me. 13 minutes later I tell her hey, sorry to be a pain but my ribs were horrible. The cook/owners son (maybe) is already at her side bc I walked in with a bag of retuned (completely uneaten food- nothing got ate) so they knew something was up. But the whole time I'm in line they all see me- look at me- come to the slide and all walk away. Aced customer service right there! I tell him "ya know sorry but my hubby just can't eat this." He went to go give me my money back and I laughed and said we liked the food before so let's try again with a new slab of ribs. If you think I'm lying when I tell you they went into the back threw some bbq sauce on some new shoe leather and gave it back to me like sorry bout that. My hubby in the car asking if I checked. Check what the bag wasn't hot- those are not fresh ribs. Yes I understand how smoking goes and it's low and slow and not cooked to order per day but these ribs got smoked for a week and then forgotten about for another week. I wish I could upload a video of the attempted rib pull apart. Just no on this place. Honestly. There aren't any restaurants or bbq places that prepare/smoke/cook consistently cool good bbq, sure not this place. Tighten up District Bbq! Everyone was really nice so they get 2 stars.
