Before District One Saigon Street Food had opened, I had tried it back when it was just a food truck in Garland. Ever since they opened in Carrollton, all I've ever heard is that this place is super expensive. I've had their Sugar Cane Juice at this location, but that's it. I was craving a vermicelli bowl and I didn't want to drive too far, so I decided to try this restaurant.
I ordered the C3. Bánh Xèo Tôm Thịt (Vietnamese Crispy Crepe with Shrimp and Pork), V5. Bún Gà Nướng Chả Giò (Vermicelli Bowl with Grilled Chicken and Egg Roll), DS12. Bánh Tráng Trộn (Vietnamese Rice Paper Salad), and N11. Nước Mía (Freshly Juiced Sugar Cane). Everything for to go. It was made in a good amount of time.
I think what sets this restaurant apart from other Vietnamese restaurants is they have a much bigger variety than others. The fact that they have Vietnamese Crepes and Vietnamese Rice Paper Salad is amazing. I really enjoyed both of these particular dishes. The sugar cane juice is amazing as fell. I haven't been to Vietnam since prior to COVID, so eating three particular dishes made me miss Vietnam so much more and I can't wait to go back. The vermicelli bowl was the whole reason why I came here. Everything was really good, but I have to agree that everything is expensive and some things are more obviously overpriced than other dishes.
Honestly, everything here is more expensive than other Vietnamese restaurants. However, they have unique dishes that others don't. I would like to say that I would come back for these particular and unique dishes, but this wouldn't be the first option I would recommend when it comes to the basic and common Vietnamese dishes.
