Went in yesterday for my wife’s birthday. Absolutely amazing food! Our waiter Luis was absolutely amazing. Always there to help and very friendly. Definitely would recommend the hanger steak and the old fashioned. We will definitely be back!

One thing stands out: Brussels sprout. Lightly crisped on the outside, fresh on the inside, coated with an amazing sauce that is tasty and tangy. Charred octopus was pretty good, the portion was just a little small, but could serve as a nice light meal with the delicious potatoes that came with it. Came before the dinner crowd (they have happy hour in the afternoon) so it was a really pleasant and comfortable space for a chat. As the dinner crowd came in closer to 6pm, it got understandably a little noisy and the music also seemed to become louder.

Came here before our show. Excellent food and desserts. We got the croquettes and flatbreads along with octopus and desserts to top it off. Such a blast. Service was good and we all enjoyed it.

We antes to go to the District Tao House but made the reservation for the wrong District. The are around the corner form each other. I had the pork chops. They were so good! My friend got the Housemade Tagliatelle she was not as impressed either the taste as she was with the actually visual of the plate. For dessert we got the chocolate molten cake it was really good as well. The service was good. I like the District Tap House betters tho.

I'll echo what a lot of reviews have said: really great drink prices and a nice atmosphere. I went here brunch and the price was really great for the area of Manhattan. The food was tasty, but a little small of a portion. The main room is spacious, dark, and has a really cozy atmosphere. We sat for a few hours and didn't feel rushed. Would definitely stop by again for brunch!

Made a reservation and went here pre-concert at MSG. We were greeted and seated immediately by a friendly host. Ambience was warm and inviting, tables not too crowded and noise excellent. The service was friendly and really efficient with just the right amount of time between drinks and each course. Vast, interesting selection of tap and bottled beers and wine. The food was all top notch. We had flatbread and croquettes for appetizers and both were superb and really special. Our entrees included beef short ribs, chicken, branzino and salmon. All cooked and presented beautifully, as well as delicious. We even got out with plenty of time to spare to get to the concert! Highly recommend.

Came here for brunch on Sunday. Had an amazing time. Food was excellent. Ordered steak and eggs and both were cooked to perfection. Bottomless brunch is a thing here. Very well priced place, good service and food. Oh and on Sundays it's drag brunch. Entertainment was on point. Had a blast.

Selected this location for brunch/lunch on Saturday afternoon in December 2018 for 5 friends to meet up, reviews seemed positive and both the brunch, lunch and drink menus seemed good. Overall, we were disappointed in our visit. The service was below average and the food while good, was nothing special. Half the group was already seated when my wife and I arrived, we hadn't seen each other in several months so we were catching up. The server arrived about 10 minutes later immediately ready to take our drink and food orders, he seemed put off that we were not ready to order anything yet. When he returned we were ready for drinks, but not food which again seemed to irritate him. We were interested in seeing the regular lunch menu however I was afraid to even ask if that was possible. My first beer choice was not available, without looking at the menu(didn't want to hold him up!) I asked for a specific beer style however what was delivered did not match that style, but it was acceptable. Other drinks were fine. I ordered the steak and eggs, which was good however I am not a fan of a runny egg yolk but I guess I should have known a fried egg came like that, it seemed more "over easy" to me. The steak was very good, marinated and already sliced which was nice. Other meals were good or OK. The waiter did check in on us mid meal, however as lunch ended he was more difficult to track down. Right before the bill came he appeared ready to fill drinks for those that ordered the drink/brunch combo. We felt the actions at the end of the meal were a tip grab as the earlier service was not up to par. Come to find out, tip was included in the bill! Wow, for a group of 5? Seems like a stretch, and we ended up paying for tip that was not deserved. Overall, the meal was not bad, the atmosphere was nice, and the drink options were good. Had the meal not gotten off to a bad start with the service I would certainly rate things higher, but because of that issue and with so many other good options available I would recommend looking elsewhere. My new favorite liquid lunch spot during the week! TVs galore so if theres a sports game on, you absolutely wont miss it. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. Food and drink are top notch for the area. Spicy margs were well balanced and expertly crafted. The wings were massive! Lots of meat and a flavorful sauce. The burger was juicy and tender. 100% will be back!

My wife and I stopped by here on our honeymoon & this place did not disappoint. The vibes are immaculate and the food is amazing! The service could've been a bit faster, but we weren't in a rush so it was nice considering how beautifully crafted the interior is. The brussel sprouts we're definitely the highlight of the meal & I wish we would've ordered double. The broccoli was good, but pales in comparison. The risotto balls were cute and I'd definitely love to try more on this menu.

In a pinch we made reservations to district social...two adults and two kids - a little weird walking in with an 8 year old and a 5 year old but they didn't bat an eye...so I was grateful They were very festive and had great decorations for the holidays! I loved it! And they were quite busy...which is always nice when showing up to a new place We ordered the hummus and my 8 year old got the very berry salad (sans berries). Both were delicious. I got the branzini and shrimp ceviche - perfect amount for someone not super hungry. My husband got the short ribs ...they were your basic short ribs, good but basic. As stated before they were quite busy and our food was a bit slow so our wonderful server comped us two beers for waiting a while - that was a nice touch even though we're were doing ok. Overall it was good..if I lived here I would go back more often for ambiance and drinks.

Came on a Tuesday night for happy hour with $12 select cocktails. There are two floors of space and we were seated immediately. The cocktails are premixed so you can't request changes. The Chardonnay didn't taste too great. I liked the cucumber gimlet though. Service could take awhile. You can order through the server or mobile.

Attended a private dinner party here and was not disappointed. The food was well prepared and full of flavor. Some items were served family style (sides and dessert). Staff were accommodating. Drinks were good.

I want to give this place more stars because it *could* do realllly well but our experience was subpar. My girlfriends and I stopped in for happy hour before a movie; had some drinks and apps. The ambience is amazing, a gorgeous spot for drinks, dinner, happy hour, anything. I had such high expectations because I wanted to come back to this beautiful place. Right off, the bartender was extremely frustrated that we wanted drinks, let alone existed, so that was a sour start. The drinks WERE delicious so they have that going for them. We ordered Buffalo cauliflower and wings for food - the wings were great, different than I'm used to but delicious, but the cauliflower was huge, not fried very well, and plain. You had to dip them in the Buffalo sauce and there was no actual side sauce like blue cheese, aioli, etc. All in all I will be back and hopefully will get to experience nicer staff and different dishes!

Worth a stop. Bar in front half, dining room in back half. American cuisine and so delicious. I had the salmon with a guava glaze and thin crispy onions over a bed of Brussels sprouts and mushrooms. Outstanding. Also added the fingerling potatoes that had a delicious sauce drizzled over the crispy potatoes. Enjoyed a cucumber gimlet that was slightly sweet and tangy. Really enjoyed it. Service was superb. Quick to refill water glass. Very attentive. No GF menu. Decor feels a little dated, but you can hear your dining companions as it is not too noisy. Delightful evening.

Stopped in for a drink and an app on our first night in town. Both bartenders were super friendly and drinks were delicious. We just had the spicy shrimp flatbread and loved it. Wish we had stayed for more food!

On our last night in NYC decided to head here after a great experience last year. Like a lot of NYC it was near empty on account of the the Coronavirus which is a shame and certainly not reflective of the amazing food or service ! The server we had was great throughout the night Crazy good selection of beers - we are IPA fans and they had a great choice of obscure IPAs we cannot find back home! Had fun ordering some unique choices ! For the food we tried the octopus ( so good we got a second helping) potato croquets ( again got a second helping of the risotto one ), cheese board, Brussel Sprouts ( delicious ) and mushroom flat bread! Food was delicious, beer great and service fantastic so get back out there NYC ! Also have to thank their amazing service as one of my kids left an item behind and they immediately called to let us know!! Amazing people , food and a must try place !!

I would give them 4.5 stars if I could. Overall this was a great experience and a surprise as I have not been here or personally know anyone who has. I picked this place for a cousins reunion and was looking for a location that would be convenient for those that were taking the train and not driving. It's only a few blocks from Penn Station. There were 12 of us and one cousin came from Virginia. This was someone the rest of us had never met never met before so we needed somewhere that would be more private and have a good vibe at the same time. We had a private room and our waiter Ricardo was very accommodating. I can't say there was anything I could find fault with from the service to the food or the decor. Ricardo was there to take pictures for us and do whatever was asked. It's nice when you find a waiter that has a great personality. Even when the food is awesome, poor service can ruin everything and you quickly forget about the food. The rest of the staff was great as well. This is a large restaurant with a nice bar that hits you when you walk in. Everything was very clean and all the staff we dealt with were nice. We went there on a Sunday afternoon and they were on the brunch menu. The nice thing was there were good choices for those that wanted more of a lunch or early dinner. I did not take a lot of pictures like I normally do and will only comment on a few dishes as I was more in conversation than paying attention to what everyone else was having. All I can say is that everything was excellent. I started with the braised short rib Mac and Cheese which fed about 4 of us. I had the salmon which was awesome. It was over quinoa and was delicious as well. They have a pastry chef that bakes the deserts on the premise. I had a molten chocolate cake and an apple pastry as well. The experience was great, the bathrooms were spotless, we spent about 4 hours there and they did not rush us out. Great surprise, I commend the management and owner for the training of the staff and their food quality. We were all able to have a great time and not worry about the little things that can bother you when you go out to eat. I don't work to far away and will definitely be back. I would highly recommend you try District social.

Did a nyc staycation day and went to this restaurant close to our hotel This has some food write ups so we decided to try it We had a great waiter Greg ( from Houston originally) who took care of us The portion sizes are not big but they were fine for an early dinner The vibe is very nice and the bar scene in the front was very social . I would come here again but perhaps just for happy hour

This review is for their happy hour (4pm-7pm daily). Their selection of happy hour cocktails are limited. My first drink was the tamarind margarita ($8) which was pretty good. My second drink was the cucumber gimlet ($8) which was refreshing and just okay. None of the happy hour foods appealed to me and also seemed a little pricey so I didn't order anything. There is a large open area with bar seating and lots of TVs and standing room. If you want seated tables further in the back there's a quieter section. Either way like its name suggests it really is a place to be social.

Only a short walk from my hotel, but very disappointing... Out server seem to be incredibly busy for a Monday night as we had to ask for refills and drinks several times. The drinks were very expensive and extremely strong but tasted awful, super let down there. order the mussels, yuca fries which were actually fantastic, and brussel sprouts which were so soaked in sauce it was practically inedible...the bacon was over cooked and extremely chewy.. probably won't go back sadly

Was on a business trip recently in NYC. Took a gander at google to see what was around and came across this place. I walked on in at around 5 pm and found it to have a very cool vibe, and not at all crowded. Very NY, cozy warm and inviting. It has 3 floors with a bar and food service on each. I cozied up to the street level bar. They have local beers a nice standard selection of liquors, a few choice high end whiskies, and a selection of Irish whiskies. I felt like having a "proper" whisky sour. At first the bartender said she couldn't make one, 5 min later she had found some eggs and was making the drink. Exceptional service! The menu is not the typical bar fare, which is why I wanted to check this place out. I ordered the salmon, with a side of brussel sprouts. Food was amazing. Salmon was cooked to perfection and the sprouts were delicious and the portion was large. More than I could eat in a setting. (I came back again and had the roasted chicken. Picture below) As I was setting the bar filled up with people, a great mix of ages, but mostly vibrant people winding down after a days work. The place is loud with a crowd, but that is expected. If you are in NYC. Definitely check out the District Social.

Going with 5 again! Lisa E. Timely grab of the perfect high top off the bar. Able to converse and keep an eye on the college football playoff. iSocial bar burger at $16 was perfectly executed. Medium rare as requested on a nice soft sesame seed bun. $5 HH Evil Twin Falco x 2 - followed by a delicious juicy Grimm Cloudburst. Had to order drinks and dinner at the bar, but still experienced exceptional service! Gracious hostess deserves special thanks for treating us like old friends! Oh..... 3 drinks in before I noticed the whimsical Menorah!

Delicious food, great drinks, awesome owners and service. The steak and octopus (not pictured), shrimp sandwich and Brussels sprouts were all excellent. The servers and owners were friendly and accommodating. A great happy hour and dinner spot in midtown.

Wow, really liked District Social! Met here with friends on a Monday night, having not picked the location, there was little I knew about District, but was really happy what I found what I got there. The food, with a nice Mediterranean influence was well cooked with great flavors. - The charred octopus was perfect cooked and nicely seasoned. - The brussel sprouts were crispy and the balsamic drizzle just right. - the lamb skewers were different, definitely enjoyed their unique take. - The Duck was cooked a perfect medium rare. The carrot purée and string beans were a nice accompaniment The waitress was awesome!

District Social is your standard midtown bar. Came here with some coworkers for a happy hour and had a good time. There are actually 3 levels, the main one where you walk in, a basement bar, and then an upstairs bar. We headed to the upstairs bar and had the area mainly to ourselves which was nice. Good Happy hour options, beers for 5-6, drinks for 7-8, and some wines too I believe. No food on the happy hour menu, but most of what we tried was good, albeit a bit overpriced for the portions! I liked the Brussel sprouts and the yucca fries the most. Our bartender was really nice and no one had an empty glass for more than 2 seconds. I would come back for happy hour, but probably not for a meal just because its a bit overpriced for what you get.

A solid 4 and let me tell you why. The host/ manager was super kind and had amazing customer service. As a lone party of one during happy hour, I tend to get looked over quite a bit but he took care of me and made sure I was seated, served and happy. The food was pretty good. I got two different Croques- the goat cheese and fontina. Both were delicious. I also ordered the pork belly flatbread: if it had a little bit more honey/sauce/flavor, I would have loved it but I alas, only "liked" it. The drinks are poured strong, which I like- and they have a great happy hour (4-7, $6 wells!) I was very happy with my experience and look forward to trying some other menu options on my next visit.

Ummmm a very casual place servicing very delicious food and drink! Cauliflower croquette was pretty good Fried calamari was weird, not the regular type. Pork belly flatbread has interesting layers of flavor, sweet and savory. Baked cod were very fresh and delicious! The plum negroni also very yummy! Would come back!

Walking into the District Social they were packed. And the crowd was very loud. But we decided to brave it out. And I'm so glad that we had. They sat us down at a nice table in a crowded part of the restaurant, pulling the table out for me to be able to squeeze by as the tables were close to each other. The waiter came over promptly and asked is we wanted bottle or tap water. Then gave us some time to look at the menu. I ordered the roast duck breast, he ordered the steak tartare and the calamari. Unfortunately they were out of the calamari so we ordered a pork belly flat bread. We waited a bit for the meal but it was packed so that was fine. They placed my dish in front of me and I was amazed at how much duck there was. The flatbread looked delicious and the tartare looked interesting. When I took my first bite of the duck I almost died. It was absolutely divine. The puréed carrots were so rich with flavor and the duck was tender. Delicious! The flatbread was delicious as well. The pork belly was nice and tender. The sauce on it had cardamom in it and was a different twist. The tartare wasn't my favorite but you cannot win them all. Then for dessert I ordered the molten chocolate cake with caramelized honey ice cream. Wow. That was almost as deliciously the duck. Almost. Final thought: we will definitely will back.

This one was recommended by a colleague. We went in a rainy and cold day and found the place warm and cozy. Their menu is very interesting, hard to tell what kind of food... but everything looks amazing! I had the Morocco lamb tagine. It was amazing! All the food we ordered was great and the service was lovely. For sure next time I am in NYC, I will try the place again.

The restaurant selection in this area sucks so I love when I find a good spot. This is one of them! I came at 7pm on a Saturday for dinner and it wasn't overly packed, but certainly busy. My friends and I ordered a bunch of plates to share, which is what I recommend doing. We had the fried fava beans, burrata flatbread, steak tartare (so good), gnocchi (excellent), roasted chicken, the pumpkin cheesecake, and the beignets, along with some cocktails. Everything was great, my only recommendation would be to skip the flatbread, it's pretty blah. The sangrias were okay, super strong if that's your thing. The pumpkin cheesecake came with whiskey ice cream which was SO GOOD and I'm not an ice cream person, we even got an extra scoop! The service is good but after we finished our entrees we felt a little bit rushed by the wait staff, which was odd because there were plenty of free tables, it's not like they needed to turn ours quickly. We ended up holding off on ordering desserts for almost an hour because we got caught up chatting. Overall, great experience, and good to know a place like this exists right in the middle of the garment district.

Stopped by for a light dinner yesterday and the meal was just as good as when I was there in 2019 -- except that they no longer had the pistachio cheesecake that i relished in 2019. This time I had the arancini balls and the chicken skewer appetizer. Both were delicious. My friend enjoyed the veggie burger, which came with some kind of chips, plus she had a side order of fries. Chips were tasty and so were fries. This may be the best place I've ever found for a meal really close to Penn Station. For wheelchair accessibility notes, see my 2019 review.

Wow, just wow to the service at this place. 1 star because I liked their cheese. First place in the NYC to get a low rating from me. As for the bread that came with it, had burnt areas on top, one of the cured hams tasted like nothing, and the flatboard had almost zero seasoning. This place is not cheap and they're also on the less classy side which we realized when they asked about gratuity. We were in a hurry and asked for the bill upfront before receiving our food and so much so we even forgot to sign the receipt before they took the bill. When the waitress came back with the bill she mentioned the missing signature and added in ".... was I clumsy and drop the cash in this booklet for gratuity when I walked away from the table?" There were less than 10 people in the whole restaurant and we were seated in the area where it would've been very obvious if she dropped anything at all. After that I guess she thought she better do some good service to say she earned a tip and refilled our water glasses after we clearly finished our food and were getting ready to leave. Clearly not remembering that we mentioned we were in a rush, why would we need more water? Throughout our meal, she didnt come by to even ask how the food was or if it was enough sice we only had time for apps. Major turn-off, this brunette chick with a short haircut has lost my business for the restaurant entirely for this.

4 stars, because one of the dishes was a complete miss, otherwise the rest were perfectly executed and caused a pretty party on my palate. Started with the croquettes, got the goat cheese croquette and one that was a specially featured croquette. Also got the steak tartare, which was the unfortunate miss of the night :(. The steak tartare tasted purely of horseradish. So very disappointing. I did not even see nor taste a quail egg, and I had been looking forward to breaking the yolk over the tartare! Perhaps it was not a good cut of meat, so the chef tried to overcome the quality with horseradish. I am not sure. Each of us in my group had one small bite, and then we set it aside. The entrees fared much better. We ordered the duck breast with pureed carrot and the steelheaded trout atop potatoes in a sunchoked cream. These two were great hits, and we all fought over the cripsy skin and the last few pieces of the duck!! The carrot puree was sooo smooth and had the right amount of flavor and acid to bite through the rich duck. The brussel sprouts went down with equal fervor. That creme fresh with the caramelization on the veggies brought out an earthiness to the brussel sprout that complimented the slightly sour, sweet creme fraiche. All in all, great foods for the mains! We splurged and got a three desserts to share amongst the 4 of us: the flan, another dessert (don't remember, I concentrated on the flan and chocolate!) and molten chocolate cake with caramel. All in all, a great atmosphere, great service and strong drinks to wash down well executed food. For the 3 dudes and myself that I went with, we split all of the food and it was more than enough for us each to walk away feeling full. This would be a great spot to catch up with friends who are in town, to bring visitors to a typical, after business place near Herald Square, or for a good and stiff drink at the end of a long day.

Overall: Nothing special with bartenders that have huge egos Ambience: Young, Happy Hour and Touristy Crowd Drinks: You will get a better selection elsewhere - Oconnollys down the street is killing it and I haven't been there in two years. Cock and Bull 0.5 mile away has the coolest bartender. I can name 5 more bars. But the douches here don't get any recommendations. Service: Read above and I don't rate bad unless you're terrible.

Stopped by for drinks and snacks at an off time. The interior was nice, service adequate, and atmosphere perfect for catching up with some old colleagues. We were there right before 3:00, and unfortunately missed the window for good. You would think they offered a bar menu between lunch and dinner, but nope. Drinks and beers were good. Not even a peanut tho. Will be back if needing a place close to Penn but not in the mess of the nasty zone. It's about four blocks from penn/msg.

Wow oh wow! This place is fantastic! What a great find! We were in the city to see some shows and looking for a place for a drink and a bite and this place did not disappoint! From our bartender Nyla ( order the hibiscus margarita ) to the manager Phil to our amazing waitress Karina, what a great experience. The food was delicious. Get the Brussel sprouts omg so yummy. We went light with the burger, so good and those fries! I don't know what they do to them but they have a citrus flavor that makes you want to inhale them! Such a great welcoming place. Loved our experience here! A must if your in town!

Brought my son Krishnan to visit School of Visual Arts. After day wrapped up wanted to take him someplace a bit more adult but with a menu he could appreciate. K ordered their pork chop. I got a flat bread pizza and we shared their wonderful octopus. It was all very tasty. The environment feels like a nice steakhouse and more upscale than the bill. Prices were reasonable for the quality of food. The server was quite knowledgable of the menu. Krishnan mentioned his pork chop was very tasty. My Flatbread was good too. Should you get the squid? It's not calamari. It's very tender squid that felt like it was maybe sous vid style cooked and then bakes in a cast iron pan after the potatoes were fried in there. Yes if you like creative and tasty... Yes get it.

Good food for the location. We came here for a flavorful American dinner before our concert at Madison Square Garden. The decoration and menu feel like classic old-school Manhattan - this isn't necessarily a cute, loud, or hipster place. It's spacious and dimly lit. The food is good though. I ordered the short ribs and fettucine, my boyfriend ordered the flank steak, and we shared the brussel sprouts. Each dish had an umami edge to it - savory with a sidekick of sweet. The portions were very generous. I couldn't finish the gigantic hunk of short rib. The fettucine tasted like it was infused with a bit of truffle oil, which lent it a rich but not overwhelming fragrance. I enjoyed the brussel sprouts, which were roasted and caramelized. We opted to get the creme fraiche on the side, and it turned out the dish was tasty enough. A dip in creme fraiche made the brussel sprouts even richer, so it just depends on your preference. This would be a great restaurant to come to with a group, especially if you have plans before or afterwards in the area (Penn Station.)

I came here because of its reputation as a good happy hour spot in the area. The happy hour wasn't that extensive (two cocktails, plus three wines) and cocktails were a few dollars off ($9) their original price ($14). Their original price is not that bad for Manhattan, even, so even after happy hour ended I stayed around a bit. I had the cucumber gimlet (happy hour), autumn island falls, and good medicine. All were delicious. The gimlet isn't the kind of drink I usually go for (more refreshing than heavy) but I loved it. The other two were great too and I'm hard pressed to choose a favorite. The service was quick and it wasn't as crowded as I expected it to be based on Yelp reviews. I went on Wednesday at around 6pm. The bartender told me that January is their lightest time, so take that with a grain of salt during the summer. The atmosphere was fairly casual. A great place to grab happy hour (or not) drinks with some friends.

Let's start by saying I love the lay of this place a little in the darker side but very nice set up. Good for after work drink which seems to be a go to place for a good amount of people. Now most of the food is Moroccan infused which in my book was a plus. We decided with a party of four why not try a few different things to that seemed interesting. We got the fried Fava Beans and fried chick peas .Amazing!!! You would never had thought they would have tasted so good. We also got the steak Tartare and for those that don't mind raw beef it's worth a try it was a good combo with the egg and greens with a touch of citrus. The pork Belly flat bread is a must try. Super crispy and full of flavors. The potato soup was yummy and had very nice flavors and very creamy . The short rib pasta was delicious with a unique twist with the pasta and the short rib just fell apart. The grilled prawns were cooked to perfection with a nice medley of flavors . The croquets were simple but delicious. Now we saved the best for last which our waiter recommended which was the fried red snapper. OMG amazing crispy skin, soft and flakey inside and stuffed with couscous. Our server was very attentive and made great suggestions. I would definitely try this place again.

Delicious district burger. Quality meat with crispy bacon. The Brussels sprouts is a must. The white sauce is to die for. You will not be disappointed and will keep coming back.

Overall: initially feels like a sports bar with large screens available for your entertainment. Upstairs you're taken to another decade - the 20s where there is plenty of seating for a lovely dinner and drinks. The food and ambiance are perfect for a weekday date. Food: the branzino is crisp, presented as fillet with crisp layer and salty seasoning. A side of lemon and olive oil comes with meal and pairs perfectly for a simply delicious flish experience. The charred octopus was one of my favorite dishes with a nice meaty consistency, very well prepared. The fluke was good, simple, light ; would have added some more flavoring, but good regardless Drinks: wide drink selection available including full list of cocktails and beers. Nice spot and just stopped in for a drink and sat at the bar. Staff was great and the owner was very personable. Didn't order food, but would not hesitate returning for a meal!

Ambiance- perfect Food - the Brussels sprouts were by far the best I've had more on the sweet side. Duck was overall good but a bit firmer than it should have been. Value - everything was executed very well price is very fair. Service - waitress was very attentive.

In search of a great restaurant located near Javits Center than District Social is a great place to go for light drinks and good food. Known for their craft beers and specialty cuisines this place does not disappoint. The ambiance is moderate to dimly lit. The noise level is moderate to high. The restaurant is friendly and family oriented. We started off with some light appetizers such as calamari fritters, mussels, and meatball flatbreads. The calamari fritters were interesting to say the least. It was a colossal of squid rolled in dough and deep fried together similar to tator tots. The calamari fritters were definitely a little to oily and and rubbery to say the least. The meatball flat bread was fantastic with a little spicy and a little sweet. It was the right amount of meatball with sauce toppings. I thought the meatball flat bread was really good. The last dish that came out was the mussels which consisted of a mound of mussels. I would have say a least 30 mussels shared amongst three people. This was my least favorite dish. The mussels seemed to be not so fresh with an initial season but then became sandy and gritty tasting. I do not recommend these mussels based on the smell and freshness of these mussels. Our group ordered the skirt steak, lamb skewers a bottle of wine. The skirt steak was well prepared and seasoned. The lamb skewers was ok not great it seemed like a mashed up hot dog. The flavors were mildly seasoned. At one point I questioned if the lamb was cooked well enough it was a little mushy. The bottle of Malbec was amazing. A little pricey but if you are going to be drinking more than one glass the best route is to purchase the bottle. Overall, the District Social was a good place for a light dinner or appetizers to start off. The drinks were definitely great but the food had some positive and mediocre outcomes. The wait staff was super nice and pleasant. I do recommend this place for specialty drinks and light dinner. I hope to try this place again the next time I am in NYC.

I had this bookmark for a while on Yelp so I decided to bring my colleagues here for lunch today. Wow it was emptied at noon when we arrived. The hostess directed us to the back of the restaurant. I glanced over the tables and had my eye on the corner booth so everyone has some cushion under our tushy =) Food: Grace and Gina - Fish & Chips with a glass of Coke...usually there are French Fries but District Social did their own twist of freshly made potato chips mmm crunchy and the batter of the cod was delicious and crispy Me - Short Rib Sandwich with shoestring French Fries (sprinkle with something spicy to give it a kick)...I am such a carnivore and this sandwich had layers of short rib not like other spots giving me less MEAT yo The service was a bit slow though because there's a bartender catering to the guests at the bar. Our server just needed to be more attentive because we were waiting to flag her for our check and doggy bag my second half of my sandwich. Definitely a great spot for lunch and dinner so bookmark it on your Yelp list!

Good place to grab a drink before going out- the cocktails are on the pricier side, but that's typical for NYC. The hibiscus margarita was delicious.

I bookmarked this place on yelp back in 2018, but never had the chance to visit. This year on my business trip, I need to make a reservation for a large party on the day of and I thought why not try this place that I had bookmarked. The manager was able to help me with a reservation last minute (I tried 3 other places and failed). I was glad I found a place for my team dinner at night. This place is huge, the first floor felt like it's more of a bar/ lounge environment. And our table was upstairs. After dinner, we event went down and grab a couple more drinks. Very versatile place. I was attracted by their menu. Their menu is decent and it has many things I wanted to try! Luckily, with a big team, I was able to try a lot of items on the menu. Short Rib: it was really good, it felt like the meat just (almost) melt in your mouth. Hanger Steak: I would say that this wasn't the best hanger steak I had, and compared to everything, it wasn't as good. But nonetheless, it was decent. Flatbread (Pork Belly): It was very good! I really like it! Croquette(Risotto): This was something I have never seen in any other restaurant, it really got my attention. I was glad that I got it! Charred Octopus: I'm normally not a huge octopus person, but someone on my team really wanted it and I was impressed. I think the Charred definitely made a huge difference. Overall I had a great experience here.

4 stars is strictly for the food because every single thing was surprisingly flavorful and delicious. Came in with one of my best friends to catch up over some food and drinks on a Wednesday evening around 6. The place was super packed - even the bar. So the hostess suggested that we go downstairs to their Cellar Bar - not nearly as much ambiance as the upstairs but still ok. The bartender/waiter (tall Asian dude who didn't bother to tell us his name) was not very pleasant, which is why I removed a star. The cellar bar was empty aside from one other table when we arrived, yet and still we felt extremely rushed and unattended to. About 20mins later it got packed and it went even more downhill from there. Every time I tried to flag him down he made us feel like we were a bother, and then when he actually came over, I wouldn't even be finished with my sentence before he hurried off to another table. The couple seated next to us even left before they got a chance to order. I leaned over and jokingly said, "Why are you guys leaving, because our waiter sucks?" And the woman responded, "Yea it's starting to get crowded so we're gonna go somewhere where the waiter doesn't mind actually waiting on us!" I'll be back because the food was awesome, but only if there's availability upstairs.

I found this place on yelp and saw food on their menu are very interesting but when the time i got there the kitchen was already closed. Anyway my friend and I decided to have a drink here because of crowds of people and nice interior. It was nice and fun having interesting conversations with people from different careers. We enjoyed it so much and will bring more friends next time.

Excellent option with a great burger and good service. Would definitely come back. They accommodated our larger party and we sat right away.

Our longtime college friends were in town so they organized a get together at District Social. It was so wonderful to see everyone! It was like a mini-college reunion. Our group was lucky enough to get the semi-private room in the back! So we could hear each other talk, and have a table for our food and drinks. Good food, good stories, I laughed so much and K and I had a great time! The food is a little pricey for gastro-pub food but its quite good and very filling, depending on what you order. We ordered the bowl of Brussels sprouts, the pork chops, and the pork belly flatbread. The roasted Brussels sprouts were charred, sweet and sprinkled with parmesan cheese! So good. The pork belly flatbread had burst of flavors with the crispy flatbread, chunks of pork belly and melted cheese. There was also some savory (paprika?) honey-sweet seasoning on the bottom of the flatbread that left your hands sticky, but tasted good! The pork chops were bigger-than-my-hand and they gave you two chops with one order ($25). The sautéed kale with pine nuts were addictive so K and I polished off the kale really quickly. The happy hour drinks were $7-8 per glass of wine. I had the Cava, and was pleasantly surprised that the glass was wider in diameter than the usually champagne flutes. Nice! The only problem was were in a large group in the back, so the waitress forgot to refill our waters for a while. Other than that, the service was great! I will definitely be back!
