The Best Katsu Sandwiches In SF

"The katsu sandwich is the star of this small counter-service Mission boba shop. A giant, plump pork cutlet is sandwiched inside two slices of pillowy white bread and some cabbage coleslaw that’ll make you salivate on sight. The pork is fried to perfection and the batter is as light as the cabbage is crisp. Come here for this—and maybe the Hong Kong-style milk tea with its bold flavor—but mostly this. " - julia chen 1, lani conway, ricky rodriguez

Tiny but mighty boba store ⭐️! I got the mung bean latte with agar boba and grass jelly on a hot day and enjoyed it! I came in around 6:40pm and they had run out of regular boba by then so I got the agar boba, which are the translucent balls that are a bit smaller and harder. I believe if you come on a Thursday, you can size up for free. Service was friendly! Many interesting drink options, food options, and even cool blankets/merch. I would definitely come back and recommend to friends!

Google
District Tea is a hidden gem nestled in the hustle and bustle of the Mission District in San Francisco. My husband and I ordered the chicken katsu sandwich, katsu sando, spam musubi, tonkatsu musubi, and a Taro Latte with oat milk topped with crema. Everything was incredibly delicious, and I especially loved the Taro Latte. It was made with real taro chunks and was the first Taro Latte I've had that didn't taste like it was loaded with tons of sugar. One thing that's really great about District Tea is that they use real ingredients and no artificial flavorings or sweeteners. The prices are also very reasonable. Overall, we'd love to visit District Tea again for the delicious food and drinks and friendly service. The only caveat is that I wish parking were easier in the area.

Google
District Tea in SF's Mission District is a hidden gem. Stumbling upon this quaint spot, I was pleasantly surprised by the plethora of drink options it offered. The Mangochada was a tropical dream, beautifully balanced and incredibly refreshing, while the Spam Masubi was a savory delight that left me craving more. District Tea boasts an impressive array of innovative tea blends, catering to diverse preferences. The creative flair extends beyond the drinks to the charming ambiance, providing a cozy retreat in the midst of the bustling Mission District. However, it's important to note that District Tea primarily operates as a takeout spot, lacking seating for dine-in. Nevertheless, for a unique tea adventure in the heart of SF, District Tea is a must-visit.

Google
we got the picnic box and took it to the park. it was a great deal, convenient, and delicious. we chose the katsu sandos, mix onigiri (1 salmon 1 tuna), and takoyaki for our box, with jasmine milk tea & oolong milk tea. the food came out pretty quickly and it was really good. highly recommend as a little brunch activity with friends!

Google
District Tea is in Mission - in between 17th and 18th street. Easy to get to using Bart by getting off 16th street. It’s not the safest neighborhood, but it is home to so many amazing food places. District Tea’s a bit small, but the minimalist style & high ceiling kind of makes the place big. You can order in person or via the self-ordering machine. I think they prefer self ordering since they get so busy like today. Anyway, it took a while for me to order because no one’s really in FOH, most of them are in the back prepping food and drinks. They have a diverse menu from drinks to snacks. I got matcha latte and corn dogs (2 pcs, half cheese & half sausage). The matcha latte is good but not how I preferred it. It’s more on the bitter side which is what some people prefer. I like mine to be sweeter, aha. The corn dogs are great - very delicious. I think they use the Berkshire sausage. If not, it tastes similar to it. Service is fast. The lady packing the order is very courteous and accommodating. Will definitely come back to try other drinks when we’re in the area.

Google
This was my first time visiting and I got the golden gate tea with agar boba and spicy popcorn chicken. The prices are to be expected but the portions were way more generous than I was anticipating! Plus they had a free drink size upgrade today for whatever reason so I hit the jackpot hahaha! I've been to a few boba places close by but I'm definitely coming back to District Tea.

Google
Got the assam float which is black tea base and vanilla ice cream (one of their more popular drinks) and added tapioca boba. The subtle bitterness of the black tea went very well with the sweet ice cream and Boba. $8.25 for a large and add-ons were very reasonably priced. Service was fast and very nice asking questions. The store itself is located in a slightly awkward location and there is only standing room to order. It is a place to grab a drink but not necessarily to stay at.

Google
I found out about this place thanks to a tiktok. I had a oolong float and a egg dando with add on spam. Everything was delicious. You can just grab your things and go have a picnic in dolores park. 100% recommended. The only downside is that there is only one person in the place so service is slow(for obvious reasons).

Yelp
I've been ordering their popcorn chicken for a few years now, and it's consistently solid. Always crispy, flavorful, and satisfying. I really appreciate that they include both regular and spicy pepper on the side, perfect for customizing your heat level. (I prefer spicy) Also, don't sleep on the Katsu Sando! It's definitely on the pricier side, but the taste makes it worth the splurge. Highly recommend!

Yelp
District Tea is a very cute spot tucked in the Mission. The space is small and there is no seating inside but it's very clean, and they have an expansive menu. They also offer to remake any drink that you might not like which I found to be really nice and made it less scary to find something new to try. I got the regular Milk Tea with boba and it was very good, but not my favorite in the city. The Milk Tea was pretty flavorful and the boba was good but a little hard for my taste. I would definitely come back to try some of their more unique flavors.

Yelp
I would give this place a 3.5. We placed our order an hour before arriving, but when we got there, we still had to wait for it. It seemed like they had just started preparing it, which I understand since they want to serve fresh food. However, I would've appreciated it if the order was ready when I arrived, as it was placed in advance. Popcorn Chicken - must be eaten right away or else it will get soggy. Nicely fried though but wished it had more basil-y flavor. Came with pepper powder and chili powder on the side. Katsu sando - classic katsu sandwich. It was delightful! I didn't get a chance to try their drinks though so hopefully in the future I would like to try..

Yelp
This Boba spot has been on my list for sometime so when my friends came into the city we came here for some Boba and snacks. The popcorn chicken was on point, nice and hot. We ordered the iced Grass jelly, hot sweet potato latte, and hot Hojicha tea crema. The ice grass jelly was pretty tasty although quite sweet even with low sugar we were impressed with the sweet potato latte. It was really good, slightly sweet but not overpowering. Even though I did not get the Hojicha with milk, the salted caramel cream was strong enough to taste like milk tea. The service was quick. The place was to go only, no table nothing. It was cold outside, so we actually ate by the counter. I think it would be nice to have some standing tables available. Everything was great, but for almost 7 dollars a drink for a tiny cup was not worth it. We strongly feel like the drinks with that price should be automatically the large.

Yelp
Very solid place to to fulfill your boba or fun drink craving!  It was a cold rainy night and we wanted something warm to drink and decided to pop in and peruse the menu. A hot HK milk tea sounded like a solid choice. It turned out to be the perfect thing to warm us up while we walked around the Mission. Not too sweet and had a strong tea taste but not bitter at all.  Their in store ordering system was out of order so we ordered with the cashier. While waiting for my drink, I was surprised to see they had such an extensive drink and food menu from onigiris to Korean corn dogs! Seems like they have a little something for everyone.  Service was friendly and fast. Would 100% come back again.

Yelp
Decided to try a new boba place after dinner and came to District Tea! Very simple shop, no tables or chairs inside. Not too pricey as well. I got the Golden Oolong Tea Crema with no sugar and boba. The tea was pretty fragrant, but I would've liked it a little stronger but that just might be the type of tea. I was pleasantly surprised by the cream on top. It was very creamy with a hint of sweetness and a hint of saltiness that was not overpowering but instead complimented the drink. Would definitely recommend mixing the tea in in the beginning. The boba was chewy and nicely sweetened - what you would expect from a well-cooked boba. The drink was pretty light which was exactly what I was looking for. The Iced Grass Jelly drink on the other hand was not worth it. It was basically grass jelly + condensed milk + milk. Overwhelmingly sweet to the point where we just ended up scooping out the grass jelly to eat. Would not recommend that drink. Overall, a pretty standard boba shop with lots of options. Definitely hits the spot for a boba craving!

Yelp
District Tea is a ~5 min walk from the 16th Street Mission BART station. My friend and I were craving boba, but there were very few options around the area so we decided to try this one. We ordered using the kiosk inside. I tried the Mung Bean Latte. The drink was on the pricier side ($6.50 for a 16 oz iced drink + $0.85 for boba). My drink was a little grainy for my preference, but I can look past it considering that it had real blended mung bean and fresh pandan leaves. The boba pearls were soft and chewy. Overall, the drink was okay...but considering the price and portion size, District Tea would not be my first pick for boba. However, they had interesting menu offerings that you wouldn't see at your typical boba shop (i.e., mangonadas), which might be worth trying!
google avatar

Yelp
Slushies were very refreshing and fruits tasted fresh. Enjoyed the unique flavors too and they looked very pretty
google avatar

Kayla L.

Yelp
Decided to try this out from Yelp Instagram account recommendation. We got the golden oolong milk tea with grass jelly and mangonada. The service was a bit slower but there was only one worker. The location is small but does not look cramped and is very welcoming

Yelp
Great spot for boba in the Mission! The service was wonderful - we felt well taken care of in the shop. The popcorn chicken was SO good and the spicy powder that came with it. The egg salad sandwich was also done well - soft bread and very flavorful. We both got lychee based teas and it came with bits of lychee which is a nice touch (you don't get this at many spots). The spot is mini and meant for To-Go. We wanted to try the spam musubi but they were out so we are very excited to return again! Highly recommend!

Yelp
I'm glad I got to try this place! I found there 25-30% sweet pretty good and their normal sweetness were a bit much. The drinks were great the tea wasn't too strong and it wasn't watery. The sandwiches were worth the wait a bit pricy but really good. They have some picnic bundles is would go back for as well with the park near by. FYI no sitting inside and parking is kinda hard.
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped by District Tea after my sister had recommended it to me and I think it's great for tea lovers! I tried their peach oolong tea easy sweet with a few toppings and I thought it was wonderfully tea forward. The peach flavor tastes like real fruit, nothing artificial or powdery. It was super refreshing and the perfect pick me up. I ordered ahead online and my drinks were ready on time. While there's no seating, it's a great grab and go spot. Parking can be a bit tricky since the street is busy, but it's worth it. Highly recommend stopping by!

Yelp
I visited in the summer. For starters, I ordered a mason jar mug because I'm a collector for reusable boba cups and they skipped it entirely. I had to wait a few minutes to even get the attention of the worker and tell it to them, to which they simply looked at the order and said "oh you did" and handed me one. No apology, no emotion, as if I was being told "here you go, get out of here." I can understand a long, busy day or whatever, but stuff like this definitely leaves an impression. Hong Kong Milk Tea with Boba - boba was alright, a bit too soft as if overcooked. Not a lot of flavor with the boba either. Flavor wise, the boba was average and on par with a lot of boba here. Tea was pretty strong and powerful in the drink. I threw away the cup with some boba left but finished the drink so I loved the tea but would skip the boba. That being said, I can understand one-off experiences so I figure there's potential to revisit in the future and see if I was just unlucky.
google avatar

Chelsea C.

Yelp
Probably one of the best boba shops I've had in the city. I ordered the Hong Kong milk tea which had a strong black tea flavor. The boba was slightly sweet and the perfect texture. I really wish this place had some tables and seating because it's currently just a window ordering system. I'll be back next time I'm in the area
google avatar

Shivangi K.

Yelp
Small unassuming shop on Mission. Just a window to order, but no seating. Service is quick. Our drinks tasted a little watery and I would not seek this out again. It was just okay...

Yelp
I got my food fast and it was Hot , I appreciate it so much I literally woke up craving popcorn chicken and was super satisfied with my order!!! Thank you guys you made a pregnant whale happy
google avatar

Yelp
Wish it was closer to us. I absolutely love their popcorn chicken and their limited special, Tako No Karaage. Crispy and on point spices. The Tuna Onigiri was tasty and filling, perfect for lunch. I got the egg salad Sando for a colleague, they told me it was delicious. Thai tea was nice.
google avatar

Yelp
I saw this stand at the sunset night market and was intrigued by the mung bean boba. The sugar level isn't customizable but the drink isn't too sweet. It also wasn't too heavy. However, the pearls were not great--maybe it's because this was a pop stand, but the pearls were hard and not chewy at all. This being said though, I'd definitely still give district tea another try. The food pictures look quite yummy.
google avatar

Claudia N.

Yelp
Service is a little slow, but the picnic deal is such a good! Also, it's the best proper hot Hong Kong style milk tea I've had in a while. Their signage is nearly invisible from the street . I had no idea they were there. I had walked past them dozens of times before realizing there was boba so close by!

Yelp
Probably my favorite bubble tea place in the mission. Jasmine tea (5/5): strong flavor just like I like it. Sea salt crema topping is a must. Popcorn chicken (4/5): perfectly cooked! Very juicy but the chicken has no seasoning apart from the chili powder. They do offering dipping sauce but I wish the batter was seasoned. No seats here. Take it to go and enjoy at Dolores Park. They also have a picnic combo which is a great deal!
google avatar

Yelp
Mission District may look sketchy to a first-timer like me, but District Tea is like a hidden safe space to get your fix on fusion boba drinks and Asian snacks for takeout. I got their Mung Bean Latte cold (seasonal) and Sunset District both at 50% sweetness. Both of them weren't too sweet. The mung bean latte is more of a smoothie milk mix so you won't choke on any mung beans when you sip. The Sunset District was a little bit plain, but I could taste the Jasmine tea with a distinct fruit puree. I also ordered the Pork Katsu Sando and Potato Croquette; both were so crispy and delicious that my mom wanted more of the Sando. The service is focused on takeout and pickup so there were no seats and tables at all to wait for your order when it was raining or windy outside. The crew was nice to bag up the goodies with utensils and a drink tray to prevent any spills. There's no parking available on the street, so it's best to take the Bart and Muni and walk from there.
google avatar

Elaine N.

Yelp
I went here on a Saturday around 6:30pm and there was no wait. You order at the tablet. Anyways, I always love getting boba to treat myself and this was a place I still wanted to try! The drinks I got were very good and refreshing! The Peaches N' Cream reminded me of a creamy, melted creamsicle drink because of the scoop of vanilla icecream it has. My favorite was the Mango Slush just because of how refreshing it felt . I'd recommend this place! The sell a variety of boba drinks, slush type drinks, and snacks too ! They also have hot drinks if you prefer that.
google avatar

Jessica A.

Yelp
My husband got this sandwhich for me and it's supper yummy! It reminds me of family mart Japanese egg sandwhich!!! Love it and highly recommend!
google avatar

Wing Yau Y.

Yelp
Their teas were pretty rich but would not recommend regular sweet as it covers the lingered aftertaste. Haven't tried their food but would like to try it out in the future. Waiting time was average, workers were nice and approachable. No seating and rather small waiting area but it looked clean and welcoming, be aware of parking limits in the neighborhood.

Yelp
District Tea | San Francisco 1. Mung Bean Latte with boba ~ traditional Vietnamese mung bean latte with fresh mung beans, pandan leaves, coconut milk, and condensed milk 2. Mango matcha latte w/ oatmilk ~ sweet and creamy blend of housemate fruit purée, Japanese matcha powder and oatmilk District Tea is a family-owned boba shop located in the Mission District of San Francisco. They offer a wide variety of beverages that range from milk teas to fruit teas, ice cream floats, and more. In addition, they make food that's made in-house, such as popcorn chicken, Korean corn dogs, spam musubi, and even Katsu sando! I came across this shop on a sunny Saturday afternoon and found myself craving boba. I instantly saw the mung bean latte, so I knew I had to get it, and a friend wanted their mango matcha latte. The workers were friendly, drinks were made fast, and they tasted amazing (flavor profile was there & not too sweet). Not only is this business woman-operated, but they partake in helping the community which is amazing. If you're ever craving boba, go check this place out. I definitely will come back for their snacks the next time around! Instagram: @markanthonyfoodies

Yelp
Very cute picnic set and super walkable to Dolores Park! Sandwich and snacks were yummy!

L A.

Yelp
My kids are obsessed with their spam nigiri and boba tea! Tasty, and very nice people, too.
google avatar

Diamond L.

Yelp
I like how fast their service is. They are quick to help when you need to order with them. They also have the option for kiosk for those who don't need help. The store is small and there's no seating. It's a Togo place. They offer food like chicken katsu and popcorn chicken. I love my Jasmine milk tea. It tastes exactly like what you'd expect it to be. I am also a fan of their fruit teas as well. Their lychee green tea comes with real lychee bits. Sometimes I order here and take my meal to Dolores park!
google avatar

Rhea M.

Yelp
Ordered my food and drink off doordash so can't speak to the service and ambiance. I got the Hong Kong milk tea with boba. Love how the drink wasn't too sweet at all and let the tea flavor shine, but lord is the caffeine in the Hong Kong milk tea is STRONG. I also finished the boba well before I finished the tea which isn't the norm for me. Texture was so-so. However, I did love the strong tea flavor and not drinking something saturated in sweetness. I also got the popcorn chicken. The basil flavor was all at the bottom and the breading for the popcorn chicken was alright. It's better than a cheaper spot that will give you all breading and very little chicken, but flavor wise it's alright. Overall, it's worth checking this spot out. I like their commitment to transparency and overall message so 4 stars!

Yelp
Mung bean is one of my favorite drinks and unfortunately the mung bean latte here was a disappointment. It was actually so bad it was undrinkable - I took a few sips and could not finish the rest. The drink was watered down and the milk tasted off, like it had spoiled. So it just tasted like watered down sour milk that was vaguely flavored with mung bean. I hate wasting food and this is the first time I've had to toss a drink. I asked my husband to try and he confirmed it was bad. He got the Vietnamese iced coffee which was better than the mung bean latte, but still not good. He couldn't finish his drink either and he's a huge Vietnamese iced coffee lover. There is better Vietnamese iced coffee at banh mi shops in SF. I hope that the other drinks here are better and that we just ordered the wrong thing. The service was nice and they were quick to prepare our drinks.
google avatar

Grace H.

Yelp
I got a strawberry matcha latte, which was pretty good, but I'd skip the food. The spam musubi was okay, but it came with a sauce that seemed like katsu sauce instead of the traditional one, which I didn't love. The onigiri was disappointing--both the salmon and tuna tasted like canned fish with little seasoning. Would come back for drinks but not the food.
google avatar

Mito I.

Yelp
Quick Summary: - Small interior, no tables or chairs - 2 methods to order: by kiosk or from the staff - Menu includes savory snacks too There are some boba and coffee places appearing on Mission, so we decided to try some out. One of the listed ones was District Tea. The interior is small, but there is space to stand and drink tea. However, it will feel cramped, if there are more than 8 people. Inside, there are two ways to order; one is by the kiosk and the other is from the staff. A large board with the menu options is placed on one side of the wall. I chose to order through the kiosk because some of the dishes include photos. I like how the boba drink names have the San Francisco theme. I think I got the district tea in this round because I was looking for a refreshing fruit drink. At default sweetness, it was indeed refreshing and had no sappy aftertaste.
google avatar

Chloe C.

Yelp
Food - I was feeling basic and got the taro milk tea. they use real taro and it had taro chunks in the drink. I wish the taro chunks were a little smaller because I had a lot of leftover taro chunks that went to waste. Overall the taro drink was ok. My favorite is still 7 leaves. Service - quick and easy. They had a touch screen where you can order and the drink came out in less than 5 minutes Ambiance - pretty small, pretty clean and kinda cute inside. No seating so you'd have to take it to go. Overall, I'd like to go back to try some of their other drinks and picnic combos (they have some combos where you get boba and some food - perfect for a picnic). They also have a lot more variety and unique flavors I don't see often.
google avatar

Evelynne L.

Yelp
Ordered the picnic pack for two and I have to say it is so worth! I got the katsu sando, the katsu musubi, potato croquette! For drinks, ordered the taro latte with boba and jasmine milk tea with boba. We ordered ahead and picked up just on time. Both the katsu sando and katsu musubi were delicious! They provided a little container of katsu sauce and I wish they gave two because it was that good. The potato croquette had to be my favorite though, it was perfectly soft and creamy on the inside and crispy on the outside! We were not able to adjust the sugar levels or ice levels on our drink which I was bummed about. The drinks were super good but a little too sweet for my liking. Overall, this is a great picnic for two set for those who want to picnic at mission Dolores park.

Yelp
Their snacks are pretty decent, have had their popcorn chicken, musubi, onigiri, takoyaki, etc. They all are what you would expect but done well enough. They also have some interesting drinks, but I haven't tried as many of them. I have gotten the thai iced green tea a few times because I am always curious and forget how it was the last time I tried, but I think I'm never super positively overwhelmed by it in the end. It seems like a lighter thai iced tea, slightly less sweet (hopefully less caffeine?). Looks pretty but I'm trying to remind myself to try other drink next time by writing this review. I've had their chamoy mango or watermelon drinks once or twice and those are pretty tasty. Their boba can be hit or miss.
google avatar

Elaine G.

Yelp
I got the Picnic Pack for 2 :) - Egg Salad Sando: Bread was not as soft as I expected, but pretty good sando overall as you can't go too wrong with egg. - Mix Onigiri (1 salmon and 1 tuna): I liked the salmon more. Kind of wished I got 2 of those instead of the tuna. The sauce definitely helped with the flavors. - Takoyaki (3 pc): Standard takoyaki. - Sunset District w/ Lychee Jelly: Good, but drink was noticeably not filled and I didn't make any adjustments. - Jasmine Milk Tea: Good balance of creaminess from the milk and nice tea taste. Like the other drink, it was noticeably skimp on the drink with no adjustments. I didn't go on a picnic, but it is a nice place to get some food for one.

Yelp
I've had District Tea in my bookmarks for a while, and was finally able to try it this weekend! They have a really big menu that encompasses drink and food items. Most of the folks ahead of us ordered food with their purchase, so I have got to try that next time! There is a self-service kiosk in the store where you order food, and staff will call out your name when your order is ready. Since they offer food items on the menu, I think this is what makes the wait time longer. I opted for the mung bean latte and my sister tried the Sunset District Fruit tea. (I loved all the names of the drinks on the menu!) The mung bean latte was very light and refreshing - it was smoother, but less creamy than 7 Leaves'. The Sunset District fruit tea was just alright - it quite refreshing, but a little lackluster as it only tasted like black tea with a few chunks of fruit.
google avatar

Joseph A.

Yelp
I came here for a Yelp event but also ordered their Takoyaki which was oh so good, and as good as what I've had at Japan Town. Parking gets tight in the Mission, but I found ample spots on South Van Ness. As for the shop it was very busy and a little backed up, but given the high quality of food & drink the kitchen puts out its easy to overlook that possible issue. During the visit I was also able to enjoy a Watermelon Coconut Drink, and a Katsu Sando both of which were great. District Tea is a great addition to the Mission, and it brings a new menu to the neighborhood.
google avatar

Yelp
My life was dedicated to tea, based on where it takes me. With my trusty steel boba straw from Boba Guys, I got to save other disposable boba straws for other folks just so I could buy another cup of bubble tea. No indoor nor outdoor seating since the space of District Tea was so small, we ordered takeout. Whether I get a free size upgrade or a check-in offer, it's good that this women owned bubble tea shop accepted cash. For my takeout order, I chose hot, unsweetened matcha latte, with grass jelly and soy milk. While many bubble tea lovers like bovine milk, sugar, and black pearls onto their tea, I took my approach when it comes to strong, whole leaf tea. My snack was matcha cheesecake, which was also my dessert. That showed me how much I love green tea so much. District Tea was another new addition that replaced the old one in the Mission District. Since the young female baristas were doing well, I might swing by for another.

Yelp
We tried their boba drinks and snack items. Drinks: Tai Tea with boba- average taste; no surprise here. Strawberry green tea with lychee jellies- the taste was extremely bitter and hard to swallow due to the awful taste. Snacks: Popcorn chicken and Korean hot dogs were bland. Not sure if their meat items are made to be moist with any flavor. I am not coming back to eat here. Quickly is still our go-to spot to enjoy average milk teas.

Yelp
I'm from Orange County but visit SF quite often. Every time I come up here, I make it a point to come to District Tea. My go to drink is Twins Peak. Mango & lychee, you can't go wrong! I get my drink 75% sweet with lychee jelly. I also love the Castro drink (I'm obviously in love with the lychee lol) their drinks aren't too sweet and you can barely taste the syrups as they make it with puree! There's a ton of people walking around but the area isn't the greatest. Remember to lock your doors! (However all of SF you need to lock your doors). Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Tried this place for first time on 12.29.2022. I ordered a popcorn chicken and a small Assam black milk tea with boba . The order was placed through DoorDash. The first thing I want to mention is that almost all the drinks my coworkers and I ordered leaked in the bag. Secondly, the person who prepared the order did not provide any skewers or utensils to eat the popcorn chicken with. I also want to point out that the straws and cups are such cheap quality. My straw broke at the bottom when I tried to insert it into the cup. The top part of the straw broke after I took a few sips. The straw cracks so easily. There was also way too much ice in my drink. The actual flavor of the drink was good. There's a nice tea aroma and flavor. I did like how the drink wasn't too sweet. (You can pick the level of sweetness you want when you place an order). I was disappointed when I saw that they don't offer black sugar milk tea. The actual tapioca pearls were pretty decent, but they didn't have a whole lot of chew to it. I like my boba chewy. They didn't have a lot of brown sugar or honey taste either. The popcorn chicken was good. I just wish they actually applied the seasoning more evenly. There were some pieces that had a loooot of spice and other pieces with no spice at all. I do like that the popcorn chicken was still hot when it arrived and the chicken was very tender. I just wish that the experience was better. I couldn't finish my drink properly since they don't give extra straws. I didn't want to chug the drink. Drinking a boba milk tea drink with a bunch of ice actually makes it hard to eat the boba because the ice keeps getting in the way.

Yelp
The drinks here are great! It is a bit more expensive but you do get what you're paying for. They're higher quality and made with better ingredients. It's reflected in the taste of the drinks. My fav is the Castro which is peach and lychee. It's a good pairing and very refreshing. It can be a bit sweet so make sure to ask to lower the sweetness if you don't like your dicks too sweet. They also have some great snacks like katsu sandwich which is delicious, and taikoyaki and pop corn chicken. This place is 3 blocks away from Dolores park!

Yelp
Katsu Sando The bread was a bit dense but it was still fluffy and sweet. The katsu batter seems to be reminiscent of the popcorn chicken batter. The katsu was tender and a bit fatty. I love the addition of the tangy katsu sauce, creamy mayo, and the crunchy coleslaw. Nice balance of sweet and salty. Also, balanced cross section.

Yelp
They remade my drink when I mentioned it seemed watery or too light, which was really nice! The fried popcorn chicken is a must have! I'd come back to try more bobas and small bites!

Yelp
Great tea! Location: Definitely one of the better boba shops in SF. There is limited parking around the area, but if you can find parking, I would stop by here. There are no tables or benches to sit at inside the shop. It is more of a grab and go establishment. They have a kiosk where you can order your drinks. They also have a really nice minimalistic decor. Drinks: I got a jasmine milk tea. I substitute milk with oat milk. They have a variety of non-dairy-friendly options! The tea was really good. If you like more herbal tea flavors, I would recommend this place. Service: The employees here are super friendly. This was my first time at this boba shop, and the employee answered all my questions. Overall, I would come back to this tea place! Really enjoyed it.

Yelp
4.25 stars Street parking only, be wary of surroundings since neighborhood isn't the warmest, to-go only (no dine-in space) Order with the cashier at register or self-order at the kiosk next to it All drinks start at $5 and adding topping + going large can have drinks right around $7 mark Hong Kong Milk Tea 5/5 - mmm yum, executed really well and love that they use condensed milk (the way it should be heh) I'd recommend getting it at 100% so it can taste how it "normally" does, I tried this item a second time but with 75% and felt it wasn't sweet enough Mung Bean Latte - 3.75/5, milky and mung bean taste is present, but just my preference I like 7 leaves more for this kind of drink Green Thai Milk Tea - 3.25/5, definitely more tea than milk, I like my drinks on the milky/creamy side so this was my least favorite Solid spot for boba and they also offer snacks/food too Happy to visit whenever I'm in the area

Yelp
"Yeah, b---h, keep on going..." - Cardi B I'm all about supporting independent businesses, toss in Asian women owners, all women staff and you have my full backing! I'm by no means WOKE, but I do believe in hard work and living the American dream! District Tea entered my life after Birria tacos, I was thirsty for something sweet, but not too sweet if that makes any sense lol. I have a circle of women friends who love teas and fortunately it seems I'm always with one or two of them... not like I'm complaining! :D I'm with Bestie J this time and we enter the small but efficient location with large lighted menu on the wall as you enter. The lady who greeted us was nice and asked if we had any questions. We like to peruse on our own and that's what we did... as a group of four ladies enter after us... also in the mood for boba! Bestie J was surprised to see a THE SUNSET DISTRICT Fruit Tea as she lives in that district and I was also surprised to see my TWIN PEAKS Fruit Tea as I live on the hill! So by silly default we had to represent and order the obvious! Thank you, Bestie J for the treat! :D THE SUNSET DISTRICT: Strawberry, Mango, Lemon Fruit Tea. Bestie J rated it at 4-stars TWIN PEAKS: Mango & Lychee Fruit Tea. Oat Milk added. I found it refreshing but not much else. 4-stars Note: District Tea is not only about teas! They also offer Japanese sandos, musubi, popcorn chicken, etc. Oh! And did I tell you I have four sisters and probably why I'm hella overprotective! I mean well, I'm trying... In the end, I can see the high ratings as the ladies were nice and present. The teas were fun and many named after districts in San Francisco, hence the District Tea name! The flavors we chose, tho refreshing, was not memorable, but hey at least it wasn't overly sugary either. No regrets representing our hoods, but these hood-rats will order something else next time, only if in the area and jonesing boba..

Yelp
parking was insane but we were able to grab a spot after circling around for 15 min. This place is a grab and go with no seating inside so don't expect to enjoy your snacks here. We ordered the picnic pack for 2 which included our two drinks, a katsu sando, takoyaki and salmon onigiri for $30! Service was fast and we got our order in 10 minutes. For our drinks, I ordered the mung bean latte with grass jelly and my boyfriend ordered the taro latte with boba. I like that they use fresh ingredients instead of powder, there was real taro chunks in the latte and it was delicious.
