A Beloved Taco Spot Lands in a Virginia Brewery — And More November Openings Around D.C. | Eater DC

"Returning the Glover Park Hotel’s lobby-level dining to its Italian roots, this northern Italian newcomer occupies the original Casolare space with jewel-toned chairs and a semi-open kitchen that puts nightly pasta-making on full display. Industry vets Daniel Perron and Luca Giovannini reunite here after working together at Fiola Mare and Blue Duck Tavern; homemade pastas are a "huge focal point," Perron says, and multi-colored pastas are promoted as a unique draw. The former gas-fired pizza oven was converted to wood-fired to grill proteins like Roseda Farm NY strip, an Autumn Olive Farm pork chop, and a red snapper "chop." The restaurant emphasizes northern Italian wines from Rome and up, plus Negronis and other classics; the cozy dining room seats 80 with another 40 at the bar, and an additional bar and patio area (room for up to 80) offering cicchetti is planned for spring." - Emily Venezky

A Truly Memorable Anniversary Dinner at DinVino We celebrated our anniversary at DinVino, and I can confidently say this was one of the most beautiful dining experiences we’ve ever had. First off, the dining room is stunning—warm, intimate, and tastefully elegant. We had a 5:00 PM reservation and arrived about 15 minutes early. Although dinner service doesn’t officially begin until 5, the staff kindly seated us in the dining room and offered drinks instead of asking us to wait at the bar. That small act of hospitality set the tone for the entire evening. We originally hoped to take advantage of happy hour, which is available only at the bar or outside patio, but our incredibly gracious waiter made an exception and allowed us to order from the happy hour menu from our table. We were so appreciative of this gesture. We ended up ordering four appetizers (two from happy hour menu and two from regular menu), two drinks, two entrees, a tiramisu, and another glass of wine. Everything was delicious; the flavors were balanced. When I mentioned toward the end of our meal that it was our anniversary and how much we loved the food, our waiter surprised us by offering us a taste of limoncello, a traditional Italian after-dinner digestive. It was such a sweet and unexpected touch that made our evening even more special. We were never rushed and ended up staying until around 7 or 7:30. The staff gave us space while still being attentive shoutout to the people who brought out our food, cleared our plates, and the gentleman who checked on us after the meal. Everyone made us feel welcome and cared for. We were even lucky enough to have the dining room basically to ourselves, which made the evening feel like a private, romantic dinner. A huge thank you to our waiter, who was incredibly kind and professional throughout and didn’t even know until the very end that it was a special occasion. You made our night. My only (very small) critique: I wish bread had been included and that the steak came with at least one side. But those are minor things in what was otherwise a truly wonderful night. We’re so grateful to DinVino for this memorable evening. I’ll absolutely be recommending this place to others and will definitely be back. 💛

I live near this restaurant and sometimes stop by for drinks, but I rarely eat here. It’s a nice place to sit, but the couple of times I ordered French fries, the quality wasn’t good. The fries in this picture, for example, weren’t crispy or freshly made. Even though they were served very hot, it was obvious they had just been reheated in the oven after being pre-fried. They also had an unpleasant smell.

DC Summer Restaurant Week Starters: We selected the Heirloom Tomatoes Salad: best described as a trip to Nana's garden. A place where you could smell all of the fresh herbs as they lingered throughout the air. These tomatoes were juicy and they were complimented by fresh basil, a delicious and creamy whipped ricotta, a side of fresh corn, and drizzled with a balsamic vinaigrette. A perfect way to tease my tastebuds. Second: For our main dish, I ordered the Filetto di Branzino and my love ordered the Chicken Milanese. The Branzino was prepared with love!!!! It was so delectable and paired with the most appetizing cauliflower puree and broccolini. All prepared just right, this meal was filling and enticing because the flavors blended together well. My boyfriend thoroughly enjoyed his chicken Milanese. The chicken was tender and oozing with flavor and the salad had a perfect combination of fresh thinly sliced vegetables bathed in a tangy dressing. It was amazing! Lastly: After such a filing first and second course, we pushed our way through dessert and I'm glad that we did. The Mango Pannacotta was described as the BEST my boyfriend has ever had. A first for me, and one I can describe as a journey through flavor valley: the rich passion fruit rum caramel, and the delicious filling and crust-pure perfection!!!!!!! We also had the tiramisu which was simply delightful and satisfying. Highly recommended as well. Overall, we had an AMAZING time and the food, cocktails, and desserts were well worth every moment. The chef is skilled in what they do and it shows through the savory dishes which came to the table. I'll be back!!!!!!

Wonderful experience from beginning to end. We popped in for happy hour (4-6 daily) and enjoyed Italian wine, meatballs, and a flatbread. The ambiance was breezy and welcoming. There is a more formal restaurant in the main hotel and an open air bar and lounge area right outside. Street parking was easy to find one block away. My husband and I have visited Italy many times and this food is legit. The mozzarella used is high quality, not shredded nonsense from the grocery store. You could easily see the shredded parsley in the meatball, another indication of the quality of food. The waitstaff were warm and friendly. Overall a wonderful experience. We will be back!

Decent Italian place with a nice atmosphere and attentive staff. While I think there are better Italian places in DC at this price point, I really enjoyed the more relaxed atmosphere at Divino. It's a cute spot and I definitely want to return when the weather cools down to enjoy their outdoor patio!

We paid $300 for a subpar experience for two...The only really decent tasting item on the Valentine's menu was the single piece of shrimp given on the second plate. When they say tasting menu, they mean you will wonder if you even had a taste of their menu. The wine pairings were very general but not very high quality. The entree (after waiting over an hour) was two pieces of scallops). Left hungry, which is a very romantic way of leaving Valentine's Day. Can't say we even had a chance to talk to the waiter because he was absent the entire dinner. Don't recommend on special holidays. Edit: There was an issue with their email reception, so took awhile for a reply. The owner followed up with me, and we are all squared away. I am excited to go back and try again! I'll update once I do so. The restaurant itself was lovely, and the food from a typical night seemed nice and full portions.

I haven't been overwhelmingly impressed by hotel restaurants in my lifetime, but this place sets precedent. Absolutely stunning ambiance throughout, from the Gatsby-esque glowing bar area to the warm dining room with rich wood tables and surprisingly comfy blue couch booths (love the blues). The food is superb, and I appreciate that the menu isn't 14 pages long. You can taste the care in the ingredients and in the presentation of each dish. The prefix dinner selection with wine pairings was a fun detour. Absolutely lovely. Highly recommend.

Had an amazing experience at Divino Ristorante! The warm, friendly, and cozy environment made us feel right at home. The service was exceptional, and the food was absolutely delicious—every dish was crafted with fresh ingredients and rich flavors, making it a truly authentic Italian dining experience. A special shoutout to Chen, the amazing owner, who goes above and beyond to make sure every guest feels welcome. From the appetizers to the desserts, everything was perfect. Highly recommend for anyone looking for top-quality Italian cuisine in a welcoming atmosphere. Can’t wait to visit again!
