Vegetarian Indian with vegan options, innovative dishes, great service
"Naan Mi I finally got around to trying Diya Sunset Harbour last week. The South Beach Indian restaurant is all vegetarian and serves its own version of a bánh mì they call a “Naan Mi.” It’s basically fried soy chunks (or spicy tofu) with some pickled onions and garlic ginger chili sauce - and the whole thing gets wrapped in a big, warm naan. It came unassembled, so I got to put it together at home. The result? A very good dish that managed to satisfy cravings for both Indian flavors and a bánh mì." - ryan pfeffer, carlos c olaechea
"The entire menu at Diya is vegetarian and there are a lot of vegan options too. The Sunset Harbour Indian restaurant has a selection of small plates like samosas, tandoori paneer, dosas, chana masala, and more. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating, which is good for casually watching luxury cars run stop signs. And they also have an adjacent bar called BackRoom you can check out for drinks after you eat." - Ryan Pfeffer, Carlos C Olaechea

"The Marahaj family runs this restaurant in Sunset Harbour, which combines their passion of Indian flavors and vegetable-filled cuisine. Begin the meal with vegetable samosas served with tamarind and onion chutney or varieties of dosa (Indian rice pancakes), then move on to the standout eggplant burger served with a mix of homemade cheese. barbecue sauce, and a side of masala fries. Or go for the Chana salad, which mixes Indian-spiced chickpea salad mixed with quinoa on a bed of greens, or there’s also a selection of curry entrees and vegetable biryani to choose from." - Juliana Accioly

"Sunset Harbour’s family-owned vegetarian Indian eatery focuses on health conscious flavorful meals. Its takeout Miami Spice menu is offered Tuesday to Sunday for dinner. This menu features five appetizers including aloo bravas, tandoori paneer served with vegetables, and curry chana quinoa salad. Entrees include seven options ranging from mushroom matar masala to eggplant barta, and are all served with white rice and butter naan. For dessert choose between Indian fried donuts or a tres leches soaked in cardamom cream and topped with ricotta." - Amber Love Bond
