Failure Is a Privilege — and to Innovate, It’s Necessary | Eater

"Launched as a high-profile collaboration between the chef and an established restaurateur, this acclaimed restaurant was opened during an intense personal period (shortly after the chef had a baby) but the partnership dissolved about a year later; the chef walked away from the venture and cites the experience as a hard lesson about unequal expectations around failure and who is allowed to fail in the restaurant world." - Reem Assil

Finally, got round to trying this spot. Authentic feel to the place and some lovely art inside. The menu has so many brilliant options and priced amazingly. Grabbed an araisi drink for myself and the lamb zorbian to share. The drink was tasty and unique, with the lamb dish being an enormous portion. It can easily feed two to three with such tender lamb making the experience that much better.

Ordered a lamb zubrian and adani tea....The quantity was more and can be eaten by two. Also got soup and sauce for free and it was good. The lamb was cooked well and the portion was generous with a big boiled potato...Tea was good.

The food is quite authentic, tastes really good. What sets it apart is the ambience makes you feel like you are sitting in Yemen and eating it. Portion size is worth the money. Quite generous with their portions and chances are you might need a takeaway box. Employees working there are polite and well trained. Kudos to the chef.

This place was a great surprise. I came here on the recommendation of my Roma friends, and I’m really glad I followed their lead. I had the lamb mandi, which was absolutely delicious – the meat was fall-off-the-bone tender, perfectly spiced, and served on top of a generous portion of fragrant rice. The portion size was honestly huge, and for the price, it’s hard to beat. If you’re hungry and craving something hearty and full of flavour, this is definitely the right choice. The staff were kind and welcoming, and the whole place had a relaxed, low-key vibe. It’s not trying to be fancy – just good food, done right, with people who care about what they serve. I could tell that it’s a popular spot with locals, and it felt like one of those places you wouldn’t necessarily find unless someone showed it to you. It was also really nice to be in a space where different communities come together – I heard Arabic, Slovak, and English all around me, and it felt like a little cultural crossroads. That added a lot to the experience, especially for someone like me who’s interested in migration and community life. In short: tasty food, good value, big portions, and kind people. I’ll definitely be coming back – and bringing others with me next time.

A real taste of Arabia. The size of the portions are considerable but that does not affect the quality the least. There is a mildly hot and spicy taste to the dishes but it is not very poignant. The service is comparable to the speed of a fast food place but to a much higher quality. The personnel are great and helpful. The prices are great.

I have been to Diyafa several times. I have always been delighted by the service and by how promptly the food is served. A complimentary soup is served in the beginning which is lovely to begin with. The portion sizes are generous and the prices are also very decent. I would recommend you try out this place.

What an amazing experience we had in this restaurant. The Yamani cosine is one of my best and i always look forward to trying their great food. We went to a trip near Sheffield and we stopped by after we searched for a place with good reviews. It was my first time trying this place and i was absolutely shocked, what an amazing place and delicious food and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Very fresh, big portions and good presentation. We ordered Zorbian lamb and saghir (small meat with naan. We also ordered their special bread and ends our meal with the Adani tea. They brought us a meat Yamani Soup and this was on house to welcome their customers. All dishes came as expected to be and higher. Was absolutely delicious, i really enjoyed it and I highly recommend everyone near by to try it. This place has a toilet and it was very clean and they said that they refurbished it recently which you can see, and we parked our car in a paid car park only two minutes walk from the restaurant i think was Waker car park.

Great food, amazing customer service. If you are an explorer and you love to diversify your experience into different cultural cuisine, you must try this place. It is a small restaurant, but with very good quality food.

Yelp
If you fancy Arab/Yemeni food with a reasonable price in the whole region of South Yorkshire this is the place. We've been coming here for years and we are really loyal to their tasty food and friendly staff.

Yelp
This is a great no frills spot for some authentic Yemeni, Adeni home cooking. The pricing is excellent and the quality is very high, if you miss home cooked Adeni food this is the place!! In particular the Mukhbaza is unique to find outside of Aden. Highly recommended

Yelp
I cannot believe how cheap this place is - and the food is amazing. For £6 you'll get enough food for 2. They actually undercharged me and refused to accept the extra £1. Don't come here expecting anything fancy - but do come for good (what I assume is authentic) Yemeni food!
