My search for the best Pastrami sub continues…First time back to DJs in a very long time. Staff were kind and service was quick, although sadly, all the old faces are gone. Pastrami sub was good….wasn't great…. needed more sauce (juice) and seasoning….not enough mustard… as well as could have used better cuts of pastrami (too much cartilage to chew on). Although much smaller sub in volume than long ago, prices were reasonable and a lunch with drink and chips still cost under $20. Guess I got spoiled from long ago with the laughter and friendly counter people…..it’s not the same, but I’ve come to expect that lately.

The sandwich selection is incredible, and the prices are great. A fun market and/or lunch or dinner stop when in the area. I’ll be back!

Absolute GEM here in Southie! DJ's Market has THE BEST breakfast sandwiches I've ever had. The paczki are to DIE for and they make all kinds of polish food from scratch. Everything I've had here is fantastic! I also appreciate the variety of polish snacks so there is always something new to try. The owners treat you like family and the prices cant be beat. Definitely must stop by whenever you're in the area!

They sell cheap cider donuts and bread, as well as frozen perogies, juices, sauerkraut, tons of meats, soups, kombucha, cookies and candy as well as pastas and spaetzle. The deli is fantastic: the women who run it are kind and helpful and the food is delicious.

Came in today for a roast beef sub with BBQ cheese and mayo today at 12pm, 30 min after eating half the sub suffered food poisoning and knew there was something wrong it is now 740pm I still am unable to eat and my stomach feels like I was hit with a sledgehammer very disappointed....

First time- I think their Kelbasa was a family recipe and wow super delicious! I picked up THE German mustard in a glass, what a treat.

The deli has great deals and authentic Polish meats and sandwiches. Store has some Polish imports as well. Great little place.

I was dying for a delicious paczki and have been following DJ's market on instagram, so I drove the 1/2 hr each way. As you can see they were beautiful on the outside and lots of filling on the inside, but the dough was not fresh. Tried nuking them for a few seconds, unfortunately didn't work. Very disappointing.

Great spot. Food is fresh and made in house. Me and my friends stopped in for the kielbasa breakfast sandwich - kielbasa was crisp and had the perfect snap that made each bite an experience. Top on some fresh fried eggs and cheese and you got yourself a unit of a meal. Quoting my buddy, "if this was by my office, I would eat here everyday". Service is also very friendly and attentive, which always what separates the great from the good. They have other stuff in house like fresh donuts and many specialty items. Too bad I don't live here because if I did, I would try them all. If you're looking for a meal and don't want to be disappointed, this is your place. Stop by, very glad we did.

Great polish deli. They make excellent, hearty sandwiches that are protein heavy. Jordan, makes the best sandwiches which are not too dry. Adding on banana peppers makes every sandwich pop!

DJs has the best paczki in town! I love the buttercream flavors, especially raspberry and maple bacon!! Authentic polish food with great prices. The store is a small hole in the wall, but such a hidden gem. Everyone has always been friendly and helpful, and always willing to make special packzi orders if needed in advance! Will always be a returning customer

Staying nearby we wanted an authentic deli and we found it at DJ's market. My husband ordered a off the menu sandwich, a giant club sandwich and he was extremely pleased with it. There was so much stuff in that sandwich it was falling out with every bite. I got the hot dinner plate with roast beef, mashed potatoes and beets. I opted not to have the gravy but every single bite is juicy, warm and delicious. 10 out of 10 recommend

I was in the South Bay Center and was wanting a lunch that wasn't from a chain, so I pulled out my Yelp app and did a quick search for "lunch." D&J Market was just a couple of minutes away, and parking was available right on the street, which made my visit easy. Their deli counter is in the back, with several men providing patient, satisfactory service. To avoid disappointment, consider their chalk menu board more as a suggestion board, as a number of the items were out. Although if I had 20 minutes, they offered to make some pierogies fresh for me. For the day's soups, check out the paper posted on the counter instead of the chalk board. In the end, I went with one stuffed cabbage $3.75 (a huge cabbage leaf stuffed with ground pork and rice in tomato sauce), one cheese crepe $3 (served cold), and after I discovered the display of pastries by the front counter, 3 mini paczki (donuts) for $1 (no stuffing). In the other front corner there was a counter with 2 stools, and a table in the corner with a few more chairs. This in addition to the benches set outside. It was a firm mound of meat wrapped in the cabbage leaf. It was a bit mild, but the marinara sauce was well flavored and improved the dish. The cheese crepe was pretty good, but the mini donuts were kind of plain, and a mild sweet that didn't quite do it for me. Perhaps I'll try one of the following on a future trip: The Big Fig $7.55 (thinly sliced prosciutto over rich fig spread with spinach and feta cheese on a ciabatta roll) 12 Pierogi with sauerkraut cooked onions and bacon $7.95 Roast Pork sandwich small $5.95 Pork Cutlet sandwich small $5.95 3.5 stars

Boston needs more spots with soul and character like DJ's. You'll want to come here for the sandwiches or the donuts, both of which are pretty awesome. There is quite a long list to choose from for the sandwiches. While good, I was not overly impressed by the famed fidelski. I did really enjoy the kielbasa with saurkraut and will be definitely back for that. The donuts are what stole the show for me. The plum variety might be the best donut I've ever had anywhere. Aside from sandwiches, DJ also offers a variety of European goods. While the selection is not exhaustive, they do offer a good variety of mustards, spices and sweets you would not typically find in a local supermarket. Overall, it's not the most convenient location for me, but I would definitely stop by for a donut or sandwich if in the area.

Within walking distance to the Marriott Courtyard Hotel. Has a few sundries and multiple options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I opted for the bagel, 2egg, bacon, and cheese sandwich. It was quite possibly the best breakfast sandwich I have ever had. The perfect toasting brought it up another level. The pastries are delicious! The raspberry filled were my favorite. Over 30+ different types of sandwiches are offered. I'll be happy to try one of each while I'm here. Very friendly service.

Ordered smoked kielbasa, pierogi, and boiled pastrami sub for delivery. The kielbasa was huge, the pastrami sub was packed with meat, and everything was so delicious.

I been going here for years. The owners,employees are very friendly and professional. The menu has been expanded and they have a variety of things to choose from,if you have a sweet tooth,any type of craving you most definitely need to run here. It's well worth it.

I had high expectation as I walked to Dj's Market today and the food exceeded my expectations. Went with the meatball sub and it was fantastic. I'm eager to eat my way through the menu. Great prices, sandwiches, and deli meats. I'll be back often!

Great polish deli in Dorchester that has been there for years. Right off JFK exit in the old polish section so easy to get to. Great sandwiches and huge. We had their home cooked roast beef sandwich (available every day until they run out). It was delicious. The roll, which in my opinion, makes or breaks a sandwich, was bakery fresh. The sandwich is pricey but huge. I had a small and couldn't finish it. My husband had a large and only ate half until later. They also have roast beef, turkey and meatloaf sold as dinners served with mashed potatoes, etc. We also bought homemade cheddar/potatoe perogies, also great. They can be served plain or with onion/bacon sauce. In the past we've taken kielbasa home to cook, they sell all kinds of polish deli meat and cheese. All kinds of deli sandwiches available too. Need to go on earlier side, especially Fridays. They serve the food they cook themselves until they run out and they run out quick. Give it a try

This place is more than a market. I have had the best homemade kielbasa from this place. I have bought it and prepared it several ways and it is always delicious. At lunch time, I have had their fresh kielbasa and sauerkraut sandwich with mustard which is equally as good.

Thank you to DJ's for giving me a taste of home! I am from a polish family, and thought it was going to be impossible to find one of my favorite treats- a paczki for Fat Tuesday- in Boston. Super grateful that DJ's serves them up for only $2 / paczki, and they're amazing quality. They also partner with UberEats and Grubhub for fast delivery for those of us not close to South Bay. I will come back for lunch next time I'm craving kielbasa and pierogi!

Hot pastrami was delicious. Service was fast. Price somewhere between fair and steep. Great store selection of drinks, chips, and non-perishable groceries.

I bought $50 worth of Pączki (Traditional Polish jelly donuts) during Fat Thursday (Tłusty Czwartek) for my co-workers and they LOVED them! Not a single one was left. DJ's had all the classic flavors; raspberry, plum, cream and my all-time favorite that I can't find anywhere in the States, ROSE (yes, you read that correctly, and it's delicious-just like back in Poland) in addition to those, Nutella and apple flavors were a fun and delicious alternative. Will definitely be coming back for more in the future!

Two days and two disappointments. Day one kielbasa and kraut grinder kraut on top making eating and driving difficult , heavy mustard . Great Kielbasa though !. Today an Italian told the kid twice no hots what do I get ? Hots and lots of them . Done not going back . At $10 a sandwich make them how I order it !

Best sandwich I've had in Boston. I got a turkey sandwich with lettuce tomato Mayo pickle cheese, the ratio of sandwich to roll was perfect. Really friendly staff. Thank you!!!!

My girl got the pierogi plate and I got the Kielbasa, egg, and cheese on an English muffin. On a scale from mid to bussin bussin. This was bussin bussin!!! Great quality and service as well. I will be back!

Although I have lived in Southie for 5 years, I just discovered this great little neighborhood market. I stop by frequently for a delicious sandwich or soup for lunch. Staffed by very nice, friendly people.

Some of the best paczki I've had outside of Poland - they taste EXACTLY like what a good paczek should taste like. Had the indyk sandwich as well and it was great. It's out of the way from my office, but will definitely be going out to Dorchester to buy more for my coworkers!

Hands down best lunch spot in the area! Polish deli and market with most things you'd expect in any American deli, plus plenty of Polish options you can't get elsewhere. The meatball sandwich is also very good, better than some "Italian delis" I've tried in the past. Besides the sandwiches, they also make their own pierogis and bake their own paczkis (fried dough, kind of like zeppoli) every day. The big ones are filled with different flavors of pastry filling and the small ones are just coated with powdered sugar (aka they're donut holes). They also have several options of cold brew coffee on tap, and then a wide variety of staple items you'd expect in any quality market. They accept mobile payments (Apple Pay, Google, etc) which is also very convenient.

Excellent, authentic Polish deli. I've tried their Polish reuben, their pierogi, and their paczki (jelly-filled donuts). They carry all of my favorite goodies and speak Polish. It was pouring rain outside so they cleaned up a table for us to eat indoors.

House-made kielbasa is delicious. Staff was wonderful. Overall fantastic experience. Cannot wait to go back!!

Honestly gotta leave a review for DJs. Lived in the neighborhood 5 years and this is a staple for me. Their sandwiches, their polish pastries, the people that work there are all 5 stars. Support local business and shop there and you won't be disappointed.

OBSESSED with these paczkis!! I would go to Dorchester every day for them if I could. Luckily its far from home so I won't be gaining that much in the waistline yet. They are freshly made every day with all sorts of different fillings. They are nice and airy and not at all greasy. They are perfectly sweet and balanced with some nice filings. I want them all. The rest of the market has some awesome Polish food and treats. They are all at affordable prices to try something new. Sitting here writing about it makes me want to go back.

I love this market. It's owned by a kind family, and they always provide good service. The chili is my favorite, but I've never had anything bad at the deli.

I was insulted by the cashier. They sell button pins at the check out counter, Now this may be controversial but I asked do u have any trump pins and cashier said "No and anyone who wants one is an idiot and not welcomed here" I said nothing and walked out. They have the right to there opinion but keep it out of business. I know most of you are applauding DJs but I felt it was very unprofessional. That happened in September and I have not returned and will never return. Stick to business not politics.

Update time: I've been back to D & J five or six times in the past few months and had a decent sampling of what they offer. My quick thoughts: Every sandwich is awesome. I've had the roasted pork, turkey, the fidelski (polish cuban), the rycki indyk, and the moscow morski. They've got like 50 sandwiches on the menu, so I doubt I'll ever have them all. Maybe that's a stretch goal. Either way, all great. Every meat is sliced fresh and to my knowledge, most are made in house. I think they bake all their own bread, too. I also had the chili, which is award winning. It was good, but I'm from the midwest and have high standards for chili, so I can't say it was the best I ever had. Definitely a perfect winter meal, though. I love D & J and hope it stays around forever. It's a true hidden gem in Dorchester.

Couldn't ask for a better neighborhood deli. I've tried countless sandwiches, all their pastries, and even ordered a custom birthday cake - all absolutely delicious and highly recommend everyone check out. (Seriously, I need to call out the birthday cake again because I didn't know they did custom cakes, and it was one of the best I've had.)

Its a polish grocery with a deli counter in the back. Go for a Kielbasa and egg breakfast sandwich, but save room for one of the home made donuts that will catch your attention at the cash register. Even if you don't speak Polish, they will take great care of you and let you know the great stuff to get! dziękuję

Have lived down the road from this place for 2 years now and we absolutely love it!! You never get a bad meal when you come to DJs. Their pierogies are out of this world, the potato and cheese with the bacon and onions on top are my favorite and go-to. Other great options include the stuffed cabbage, the sweet and sour kielbasa (which is huge and can always be 2 meals for me), the fidelski, and the mac and cheese with kielbasa! They always have some daily specials like chicken and cheese cutlets or cold salads at the deli counter that are also awesome. Also you can't leave without trying one of the Pączki - absolutely to die for! Overall, it's a great family run place with inexpensive but great food in the Dorchester area. The one con is that they are closed on Sundays when I need takeout food the most!!!

I'm biased, and Polish, but I just had the best sandwich from the deli counter. I picked up food for a bereaving friend, and got lunch as well. Lot of really neat foods and a good variety. They sometimes sell slightly past expiration date items, but at a discount, so that's nothing you find find in a traditional ethnic market. If you ask the counter woman what's good in Polish, she'll select the best pastries for you. I've been here a few times, and I'm always glad to stop by when I can find easy parking.

With their "best subs in Boston" sign proudly displayed out front, I was expecting big things. A variety of bread choices, sprouts, honey mustards, pesto spread--you know, the regulars. But this place is different. It's the kind of sandwich-making market that almost requires you to change into your Carhartt overalls beforehand and bring your lunch tin and thermos along for the ride. No fancy toppings here. This is a regular old sandwich place with classic mustard only. They've also got an interesting selection of Polish grocery items (candy!), and fresh breads from somewhere by the checkout counter. Bonus points for being close to home, and for the friendly service.

This place was awesome! I mean, it was mac and cheese with kielbasa and bacon. He asked if we were ok with it having bacon...i mean, OBVI! it was delicious, and surprisingly not toooooo greasy. Also had 2 of their sandwiches, can't remember which, but they were tasty and very generous portions. They also have lots of euro/polish food which was great. Hahaha I felt like a kid in a candy shop trying new things. Only problem was that some of the refrigeration units with the drinks weren't working, and it was a hot day and they smelled a bit; the should have left the doors open or taken the opportunity to clean them out.

City deli and ethnic grocery on the Southie / Dot line. Their main biz in deli and sandwiches leaning on the Easter European tastes. Deli counter service , not really a place to sit and eat although there is a small counter you could sit at. I had a fresh kelibasi and sauerkraut sub and it was very good and only $5.25. Great looking fresh donuts and pastries although I didn't have one, I will next time..

A great neighborhood market! They make their own fresh kielbasa and various other foods including those amazing donuts. Great source for all kinds of Polish foods. They have great sandwiches - my favorite is the Slambasa. They also offer breakfast sandwiches. Try the kielbasa, egg and cheese!

This was close to my hotel so I stopped in and picked up a phenomenal pork sandwich. It is so flavorful! I only added a little spicy mustard and provolone. Nothing else needed!

This is a place you go hungry.Hot and cold sandwiches,soups and stews. All fresh made . Nothing fancy,counter at back of market. Before noon most days line of truck drivers,construction workers, businessmen ,don't worry about the waistline here,you'll get more than your fill. Have to try kielbasa !! I've lived down the street from this place for 5 years and have always heard great things about it but have yet to make it in until today - just as well, because I'd probably be in a diabetic coma by now from eating there exclusively. My girl and I split the Rycki Indyk and Moscow Morski sandwiches and a raspberry-filled Polish donut and good lord, total food high. Everything was very unfussy and clean-tasting, highlighting the individual ingredients; nothing was greasy or overbearing, just the best deli sandwich I've ever had. Great portion sizes and great prices.

I ordered a roast beef sandwich and some pirogues. What a disappointment. The pirogues were boiled to mush, the roast beef was DRY as if someone were aging it, there was nothing to the sandwich - a couple of THINLY sliced tomatoes, SOME lettuce, a LITTLE mayo on the bread. Those poor pirogues looked more like someone wanted the outside the same as the inside - mashed potatoes. NEVER AGAIN!! The outside should have been deep fried and not boiled to death. No, this is not the store for Polish people's pirogues.

DJ's provides the best value of all the markets in the Polish Triangle. The excellent (though simple) sandwiches are practically free. Polish groceries are very fairly priced, and the home made raspberry filled doughnuts (behind the register) are incredible. Greatest of all is probably the fresh kielbasa, which tastes absolutely nothing like the Hillshire Farm you grew up on. It comes raw and is best when grilled over charcoal. Very friendly service, too.

As subs go this is the best I've had since coming to the US. Tastes great, well priced and you won't go hungry after it!

Used to get a bomb sangy there for short money ... i got a corned beef i swear had 4 slices .... i coulda read the herald through it .... never see me there again
