D'Nonna

This place was a great find! I really enjoyed the for cheese gnocchi, it had a great flavor and was cooked really well! I love gnocchi and a lot of Italian places don't have it as a main menu item. The lasagna pizza was a fun and flavorful menu item that was unexpected a well. Everything we got has a great flavor and I have already been back! The service was good and the ambiance was really good but that isn't normally how I choose places but it does seem like a good place to bring a date or celebrate something

First time trying D’Nonna! Atmosphere: 8/10 exactly what I want for a cute date night with my husband. Cozy, cute, well decorated, romantic. Loved every bit of it. My only wish is that the patio was more inviting, the curb appeal was not there for us. Overgrown weeds, and just neglected. Had we not heard this place was good, we would have went somewhere else. BUT it is Texas so it’s understandable the patio wasn’t taken care of because nobody is eating outside during Texas summer lol. The unfortunate part is that the patio is in the front, so even though it isn’t being used, it’s the first thing you see when you park. With the weather cooling down, hopefully the patio will get revamped bc I would LOVE a glass of wine with some food on the patio and crisp fall weather. Food: 9/10 if we didn’t get the jalepeno poppers, it would have been 10/10. The poppers were mediocre. Nothing special. Wouldn’t get again, they weren’t bad, just not memorable. I got the chicken martini and my husband got the meat lovers pizza. We shared and OMG. Both were amazing!!! Pizza crust was elite, perfect toast on the bottom and you can feel the flour when you pick it up. (Sounds weird but if you eat a lot of pizza, you know what I mean lol. We love the slightest bit of flour on the bottom) Chicken martini- weird name. Not gonna lie lol but it was soooo delicious. My only wish is it had more chicken but obviously that would make the cost higher. So all in all, it was awesome! Service- The best. She was so sweet and attentive. We can’t wait to go back and try something new there.

This was my first time visiting, and it was a great experience from start to finish! We were immediately greeted and seated with a warm smile and friendly hello. I requested a booth, which was accommodated with no issue, and our table was clean and inviting. We were given a complimentary appetizer of bread with a side of sauce—both were delicious. I ordered the New York Rainbow drink, which was amazing, while my significant other stuck with water. For our entrées, we chose the fettuccine Alfredo and the Pepperonanza, and both were absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was enjoyable, with nice music and lighting that added to the experience. Our waitress was incredibly kind and attentive. She even offered to help us box our leftovers and suggested dessert. She also took the time to explain their lunch specials and when they’re available. Everything was excellent—the customer service, atmosphere, and food. I will definitely be returning! Thank you for such a fantastic experience, and a special shout-out to Rose, our wonderful waitress who truly knows how to deliver outstanding customer service!

The pizza was absolutely delicious — perfectly cooked in a wood oven, with that authentic flavor you can’t beat. The pasta was incredible too, fresh and full of flavor. Great quality food and a place I’d definitely come back to!

This Italian restaurant is a warm and cozy place to enjoy a good meal. The food is delicious and full of flavor, especially the pasta and pizza. The ingredients taste fresh, and the portions are good. The staff is kind and attentive, and the service is quick. It is a great place to eat with family or friends. Do not be deceived by the low key entrance, the food is super delicious! Become our favorite in lewisville old town. The light and rich taste is just awesome! My son licked the last drop of gravy. Lol I tried to reply to owner’s response and some reader’s question but could not find where i could do that, so pardon me i had to add my comments to my own review. The sign and window by the main street is a little “invisible” and says something about pizza. In fact they have a lot more varieties of food and totally exceeded our expectation. The sign or window facing the street could be more prominent or catching eyes, but i just want to say don’t underestimate it by the first look! Also where to park: there are parking spots in the back of the restaurants for guests. in front of the restaurant there are also street parking but as the street is a one-way you have to drive in certain direction and back into the parking spot if that makes any sense. I had low expectations when the menu was presented. Looked like a fast food Chinese menu with photos, only in Italian foods. Low grade gringo Italian food. Nothing made from scratch. Cocktails and appetizers were rushed and poor preparation. The main course was premade over compensating sauce and pasta that was soft and tacky from over heating. Good atmosphere but there is a where the quality ends. Upscale pizza shop at best, not one Italian presence.

We traveled to this restaurant for the pizza making class. It was a fun and delicious experience! The instructor was warm and friendly towards the children. The hostess, Rose, was very sweet and attentive. The restaurant itself is beautiful, but it was a bit warm inside. I imagine that’s due to the brick pizza oven. The food is very good. We ordered pasta and cheesy garlic bread to try and both were so tasty! The pizza sauce from our DIY pizzas was incredible, truly somebody loves what they do because it shows it that sauce <3.

Absolutely recommend this place! The food is super fresh and delicious, service is great (shout out to our server Roma!) and the prices aren't bad at all given how great the food is. Also, the ambience and small town vibes make for a great place for dinner and a glass a wine!

I came to this place because it had good reviews and looked nice, but honestly, the food was awful a complete waste of money. I went about an hour ago and now I'm dealing with terrible stomach pain. First of all, I've never seen a carbonara made with onions totally irrelevant to the dish. They didn't even use pancetta, just basic bacon, and the sauce wasn't carbonara at all. It tasted more like a bland Alfredo with bacon completely flavorless. I also ordered the D'Nonna Seafood Pasta, which looked great in the photos but was incredibly disappointing. It came with only three shrimp and empty clam shells literally just the shells, nothing inside. Now I'm wondering if something was off with the seafood, because the stomach pain I'm experiencing is severe and not normal. Really hoping this doesn't turn into something worse. Be careful if you're considering eating here the food looks good online, but the reality was very different.

Has potential and what we ordered was good, but needs some work or will turn a lot of people off. Very nice staff and good initial impression - until I asked about a liquor menu. I was handed a beer and wine menu. I said no, what about whiskey and tequila. Beer? Wine? No, no, not what I was asking about. Clearly limited English. I gave up and ordered a beer that I saw on draft. Sorry, no draft - only bottles. I said I saw the tap handle. Sorry, we no longer have any draft beers. *sigh* Bottled beer it is. Once we were seated, our server was very nice, had good recommendations, and spoke good English. She was clearly spread thin, however, and service was slow. Still, her recommendations were good and the food and salad were excellent. 4 stars because of good food and friendly service with good recommendations. Patio is also sweet and has a good area for kids - noting inside may be your preference if you're on a date night and don't want kids playing nearby. Inside ambiance looked nice. Almost went to 3 stars because of slow service and way too limited Enlgish working the front of house. After striking out multiple times when talking bar options, some folks probably would have given up and walked out. I would have if my wife hadn't wanted to stay. So they have some work to do...

This is a very solid Italian option in downtown Lewisville. We stopped in around 5:15 on a Saturday and the restaurant was almost full. We ordered the Meatballs, Spaghetti Bolognese, Chicken Martin, and Eggplant Parmesan. The meat balls were excellent and very flavorful, Spaghetti was a very creamy dish with lots of meat but was a bit one note, Chicken was excellent and our favorite dish, and the Eggplant was good but paired with a very intensely garlic flavored noodles. Overall the food was fresh and well prepared. Our only challenge was the service I think they only had two servers for the entire restaurant and even with them working diligently, the service was slow and inattentive. Still a good overall experience but the service keeps it from a fifth star.

Low key Italian dining spot. Very generous portions and great service; our server looked like Italian Ryan Gosling. Clam linguine - I was wowed by the presentation. Where is my pasta?! A question you don't usually ask yourself when you order this dish. Sooo much clam and they were clean and fresh. This dish was slightly spicy and savory. Chicken fettuccine Alfredo - a classic, again, very generous with the chicken portion. Got the house white and it was really good! The women's bathroom didn't have a baby changing table but the counter was clean!

Didn't really love the food or service at this restaurant. Ordered an old fashioned with Blanton's, and the server had no idea what I was talking about. I had to go to the bar and point out the bottle. The old fashioned was Blanton's on a rock with a maraschino cherry. Lol! The beet salad was ok, but the dressing was way too sour. It needed something sweet. I ordered the mussels, and got sick after I got home. I don't recommend them.

We returned and had great service with Rico. We had the Chicken Parmigiana, Chicken Murphy, and Eddie's Nápolis Special. We finished with dessert D'Nonna Soecial. We will definitely come back again.

Wow!!! We absolutely loved this place! Was looking for authentic Italian and we absolutely found it! from the really cool Italian style setting to the family that runs the place... we loved it! The complementary bread basket was very welcome and home baked bread is hard to beat! And then there was the seafood ravioli. Scratch made pasta stuffed with lobster in a delicate balance of vodka sauce. Can't wait to go back! Can't forget to mention, they do a very generous pour of wine and for that I say thank you

Great place in old town Lewisville. Big menu with good options for people who don't really eat pizza or pasta. Yummy pizza for those who do. Big outdoor area for when weather permits.

This was a fantastic family owned Italian restaurant. You could tell everything was made fresh. Pasta, sauce, etc. we were seeing a performance across the street, it was a great place to have dinner before. We were running a little late, and the service was fast and got us to the show on time. Quaint feeling, lots of seating. Definitely a place we would visit again.

Amazing Pizza! Kids had a super fun time making their own Pizza! Pizza tasted great and salads were delicious as well.

Before the ownership change D'Nonna was fantastic! I wanted to share the great food and experience with others by giving D'Nonna gift cards for Christmas. There's a sign at the host station advertising that they sell gift cards. I spoke with the host. He didn't understand what I was saying. He tried to seat me, then tried to get my credit card, then tried to get me to make a reservation. He barely spoke english and had no clue what I was asking. I had to point at their sign that says "gift card" and repeat myself multiple times. Once he finally understood, he said "we don't make gift card". I asked about the sign that literally says "gift card". He told me "we don't make no more, maybe make a reservation". I didn't need a reservation. I wanted to purchase gift cards to give as a gifts. I called after leaving, that didn't get me anywhere. I tried emailing. The email address on their website bounced back. I reached out by social media on Dec. 18th. I didn't receive a response until Dec. 28th (after Christmas). The response was from the former management. I'll miss the original restaurant, it was great!

We stopped in to have dinner after soccer and were pleasantly surprised. D'Nonna is a true Italian gem. The cozy ambiance and great service set the stage for a delicious dining experience. Highlights include mouthwatering truffle pizza, charcuterie board, and seafood pasta. Don't miss the homemade tiramisu for dessert. If you're looking for authentic flavors and a charming atmosphere, this is a must try.

Someone recommended D'Nonna to us and we were very excited to try it, given that it's so close to home, in Old Town Lewisville, which they're trying so hard to revitalize and we are trying to support their efforts, and since we are always trying to find a good Italian restaurant. We were, unfortunately, so disappointed. First of all, it's difficult to figure out where the front door is. The inside of the restaurant is beautiful and just perfect! Love the brick walls and the bar and all of the decor! Unfortunately, it looks as though they've completely neglected the outside. They have a great patio, but there are weeds that are growing everywhere. The rose bushes look happy, but they definitely need to be deadheaded, and most of the plants that are so nicely gracing the patio are wilting or dead. We were greeted right away upon entering. They brought bread and marinara sauce to our table. The bread was warm and looked great! However, it was just bland bread. It had no flavor and definitely no garlic. And the marinara sauce that accompanied it was cold, which was a sad surprise. The menu looks great with lots of choices. We ordered an Italian margarita, which was good. We ordered the Salsicia Pizza, the Chopped Salad, and the Meatballs Napoletane. The salad was delicious and very flavorful; the lettuce was fresh and crisp. We enjoyed the meatballs. They had a good texture and were not dense. The pizza, though, was disappointing. The pictures showed it being covered in cheese, then with the toppings added. The cheese, though, was scarce. The sausage was good, but the toppings overall were very minimal. The pizza was not hot. None of the food was hot; it was just warm. The service was great and we appreciated the server's recommendations. This restaurant has so much potential! We hope for the owner or manager to read this review and that some of the things might be considered. We REALLY DO hope for them to be successful and stay at this location for years to come!

I loveeee this joint! The ambiance is everything! So elegant and inviting. I love the location and its outdoor patio- even though it was chilly at first I enjoyed sitting outside and enjoying the fresh air. Our waiter was awesome and our food was super enjoyable. My friend and I had a great lunch! It wasn't too crowded when we went and we loved it! 20/10 recommend! This would be great for bday parties.

Ordered D'Nonna for a party. Though they were able to get my order in for the same day, the pricing that showed online wasn't what they tried to charge me. I got a lasagna and chicken fettuccine order ($125) for small trays. And when I inquired about the pricing online, she said "I'll give you a discount" and changed it to $75 per tray. The chicken fettuccine was a decent amount, but the lasagna were literally in thin slices and wasn't worth the cost. Food was eh.

The owners are from New York and bring New York Italian to Old Town Lewisville. The ambiance is great and so is the food!

First time to eat at D'nonna and the food is very good. Service was great and ambience was very cool. I would recommend to anyone wanting great Italian food.

Walking in here is... better than Italy!!!! Italy in Lewisville is beautiful, the ambiance and the decor is delightful. I enjoy eating Italian food to Italian music. It's super romantic in here, they even have a bottle of Canyon Road wine that you can open at the table if you should care to. The food is absolutely delicious, and the bread is literally ahmaaaazing!! They are so generous here by the way, I got like three rounds of bread!! It comes with this amazing marinara sauce that I ended up putting on my pasta as well, I just luved the flavor so much!! The people who work here are so kind and generous. I really enjoyed the muscles, appetizer, and my Lewisville special . I feel like everything is super fresh here and I feel like everything is also handmade. I will definitely be putting this on my fav places to eat !!!!!

Came away unexpectedly obsessed with their pizza. Seriously... something about the crust - that great combo of crispy but also chewy at the same time somehow. Really liked the caprese and seafood ravioli was wonderful. Meatball app was okay. Loved the ambiance and live singer. Will definitely go back.

First time visit. The food was amazing. Everyone at our table raved about their food. I ordered the Italian Margarita and it was refreshing and delicious. The Caesar salad was delicious with crisp lettuce and ample dressing. (Dreamy dressing). The eggplant parm was crispy, cheesy deliciousness.

Over all a good dinner! The portions were good and the service was great. The vibe of the restaurant was very cute. The ravioli was a bit salty but nothing too crazy to complain about. The Eddie pasta and calamari was bomb!

Well my friends, here I am again, going to new spots (at least for me), around the neighborhood. I have to be honest, I discovered this place totally by accident. I was coming out from a Sunday brunch and a wrong turn in the parking lot put me in front of this place. Definitively I was willing to try. Let's start with a little history. This place used to be Sfereco, also an Italian restaurant who disappeared not so long ago just out of the blue (even the one at the Flower Mound's river walk closed for good. I had a review for it in my profile if you want to check it). Back to D'Nonna. Once I transposed the door, I saw the setup is pretty much the same than Sfereco used to be. It was a Wednesday night and late for Texas standards, so the place was not busy. I sat at the bar. I noticed the bartender was taking care of the table (only one occupied at that point) and she took care of me (exactly the same happened to me at "Sfereco"). I ordered a glass of Chianti. After a bit the girl (who confessed to be below drinking age) told me she cannot find it. She offered me a red blend instead. Once I tried, I figured out she did not know the wines. She poured me a slight sparkling sweet red (Rivata Casa Rossa), typical dessert wine. I checked the bottles myself and I saw a California blend. She replaced my glass (much better at this point). I ordered the "Lewisville" salad (their version of Arugula and red beets) and Gnocchi 4 cheeses for entree. I got a basket of bread, which were very similar to the garlic roles "Sfereco" used to serve (too many coincidences, isn't it?). One thing I have to point, is they mismatched the order of the plates, I got the Gnocchi before my salad (hence the 4 out 5 stars). I asked the little bartender if she can switch the order, which she did with no hesitation. I ate my salad, which I can tell it was well balanced, since you have Arugula (sour) and Beets (sweet), so the dressing has to be up to par (which was, indeed). The Gnocchi, I can point, very few Chefs in Dallas (and if you rush me, I will say in America), knows how to cook Gnocchi (they cook pretty fast, and they become "polenta" if you overcook them), and these ones were right on point! Kudos to the Chef!! The four-cheese sauce was kind of mild but flavorful (Chef, not my intention to give you advise, but I could use a little bit of powdered Nutmeg there). I finished the plate in pretty much no time (I was hungry and it tasted good). Got myself an after-dinner drink, paid and left. Honestly, I felt like I was back at "Sfereco". The experience was pretty close so was the result. Well, the important thing is, I found another good dinning place around the neighborhood. If you are thinking about going to the "Garden-Of-The-Olives" or similar, I really encourage you to try this place instead. You won't be dissapointed.

Food was decent, the cleanliness was bad. Cups had water stains on them, menus were dirty from food residue, dead flies and spider webs on windows. It was a Friday night it was slow servers and managers were by the kitchen playing around. Couldn't get us until we made eye contact. This establishment wasn't even prepared for the weekend. They were out of bottle beers and half the drafts

The Best!!! The best Italian restaurant in town! The warmth of the staff entering to the ambience of the restaurant. You get a warmth feeling your back in a small town in Italy. The food was amazing too! Truly Awesome!!!

I would eat here if someone paid for it. Ity was simply unremarkable. The chickem mushroom dish was a mushroom ramen flavor, margarita pizza salty, and seafood pasta waz average.

Wow! This place was spectacular. We were greeted quickly and our server was attentive and personable. The restaurant itself was also super cute inside. We ordered bruschetta, four cheese gnocchi, carbonara (with shrimp) and tiramisu. The bruschetta was fresh and tasty. My fiancé loved the four cheese gnocchi! The carbonara was soo yummy as well. We ended with tiramisu; it was so good, we ordered a second slice to go. I definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the area. The ambiance was cute, service was great and food was fresh!

Ordered takeout from here a while ago... honestly, the pasta was soggy and the salad was bleh. It was just not the best. Maybe because it was takeout?! The people were super nice when giving me my food though. Maybe it would have been a different experience if we had dined in because the atmosphere was warm and cozy and the reviews look great.

Stopped here for lunch. The food was very good and the staff helpful. I was disappointed that there was no soup on the menu.

My group loved this place! The food was delicious, fresh and unique. Enea was our server. I loved his accent and it added to the ambiance. I will be back soon to try more things on the menu. The lasagna was tasty, the carbonara was fantastic and the vino-yummy. Come visit!

Found this Italian restaurant while driving home. Food was really good. They first start you off with some bread and maraiana sauce. We ordered the margarita pizza, and the tortellini puttanesca which had black olives, ham in this creamy red sauce. Overall really good food. Arsim was great.

it was ok. $12.00 for 5 non-home made meatballs, undercooked eggplant parm and store bought pasta. The service was great and so was the ambiance but the food was just OK. I'd give it a 4 if it wasn't for no air flow and sweating at my table while it's 104f in August. Probably won't be coming back, if there's air flow.

Finally got to try this place out. I heard great reviews on the local fb groups and had been to the previous Italian place it was and loved the patio. Unfortunately it was raining earlier so we dined inside which gave a more date night atmosphere with beautiful classic Italian restaurant music playing. Everything on the menu looked fabulous and we were even lucky to have the owner stop by our table and talk about his grandmother's recipes and this being their family's first Texas location. I order the Gnocchi and my bf ordered the egg plant parmesan. Both dishes were fantastic, rich and full of flavor and plenty left to take home as well. Our experience was so great we will be visiting here frequently and actually picking up a brick oven pizza now!

Quite delicious! Ordered the chicken parmigiana and chicken cacciatore. The Caesar salads were very well coated, with a generous amount of thin sliced Parmesan cheese. My girlfriend and I throughly enjoyed the food, and the service. We had the opportunity to eat one meal in Lewisville, and we are sure glad we picked D'Nonna. Thanks!

Love this place! We've come twice, food is fresh and the atmosphere is fun! There is so much to love about D'Nonna. Happy they are one of the latest additions to downtown Lewisville.

D'Nonna is in downtown Lewisville and seems to be a favorite for retirees. Drinks were delicious! Chicken parmigiana had a nice flavor but was a little gritty, weirdly. Accompanying spaghetti could have been cooked a little less. Veggie pizza was great, with the perfect amount of roasted veggies! We tried the chocolate mousse cake for dessert and it was awful - dry and seemed old - definitely not made in house. Service was fine - long waits at times - but I got the sense they didn't have a ton of staff while we were there for lunch.

The food was amazing! Only reason I didn't give it a 5* was because we had someone who couldn't eat gluten and even though it says gluten free options available all she could eat was the caprese.

Very very good Italian place. Nice romantic vibe with excellent service. We had the meatball appetizer and the meat and sauce were spot on. Husband had the seafood ravioli and I had the linguine and clams. Both were very good.

My boyfriend and I were out shopping and decided to google a place nearby for dinner. Boy am I glad we did! We found a gem! The taste of this pasta is by far the closest we've come to authentic Italian cuisine in the states. The service was unmatched, handshake thanking us at the door as we left included. They gave us heavy pours on the wine and our drinks never got less than half empty. The restaurant inside looks immaculate! I've never seen such a clean and well organized restaurant. They take good care of the place, and it shows. We will most definitely be back. Try it out. You won't be disappointed.

Good Italian style food. Back porch and open yard area are fun for the kids. Read rolls are a nice accompaniment to all menu items.

Love the outside area for kids! The food was good. We ordered 2 pizzas, chicken parmesan, and spaghetti. In full honesty for a review so you know what to expect, it wasn't my favorite Italian I have had, but it was very good and the great customer service, the outside seating and play area for kids makes it really great! We will I am sure be back.

Atmosphere was great, service was good. A word of warning... Leave room for dessert. We ordered one of the house specials after we saw another house special (the flambe in the photo) being made at a nearby table. We were expecting a dessert sized for 1 to 2 people. We ended up having to take most of it home because it was sized for 6.

Have been there many times since they opened this year. My wife & I love it. The pasta & seafood are both excellent. Service is good too.

This is my new favorite Italian restaurant in Flower Mound/Lewisville area. I enjoyed the Seafood Ravioli; my wife enjoyed the Chicken Martini (similar to Chicken Piccata but w/o capers) and our daughter enjoyed the Fettuccini Alfredo. Their bread is great. For the Seafood Ravioli, both the vodka palomino sauce and well as the raviolis were something special. The Chicken Martini is a meal for two. The service was great. We never had to ask for water or more bread. Rico was great and shared the music list off YouTube they were playing.

We loved it! Felt very authentic and like the kind of pasta we had in Rome. Super friendly service, affordable prices and a nice selection as well.
