Doc Crow's Southern Smokehouse and Raw Bar

I visited Doc Crow’s Southern Smokehouse and Raw Bar for lunch with a group of six, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The restaurant is quite spacious, making it a great spot for a mid-day group meal without feeling cramped. I tried the Dixie Chicken, and it was excellent—perfectly seasoned and juicy. One of the highlights for our table was the optional bourbon honey on the side, which added a delicious sweet-and-smoky kick to the meal. The lunch service was fast and attentive, which we really appreciated given our party size. Beyond the food, the atmosphere in this renovated historic building on Whiskey Row is very cool, with walls lined with an incredible selection of bourbon bottles. It’s a solid choice for a high-quality lunch in downtown Louisville. Highly recommend the Dixie Chicken if you're looking for Southern comfort food

I made dinner reservation for Doc Crow’s weeks ahead since they were really popular. Upon arriving at the restaurant, we were taken to our table right away. The space was huge inside. We had to take a long walk to get to our table. They had a huge bar near the entrance. The dining area where we sat down was so impressive, with all the liquor bottles going all around the walls. We started with the fried oysters. The quantity and the taste of the dish was underwhelming to me, especially for the price of $28. For entree I got the beef brisket. Took them about 20 minutes to bring it out. The brisket had no sauce to it, the plain pieces of meat looked so sad, with couple of pieces of onion and pickles just thrown on top. The onion wasn’t even a full piece, lol! The broccoli that came as side dish was actually much better. My family ordered the Mac & Cheese and Doc’s tacos. Both were decent dishes. Our server was nice and friendly, did her job well. The restaurant was packed, meaning they were a popular spot for locals. But overall the food and dining experience fell short of my expectations.

I have to be honest about this place. I have ate here four times and I just can’t get into it! Let me say the service is phenomenal! Always is! Our service Darius was excellent. Hence the 5 stars for service. My friend and I had two WDRB $50 gift certificates that we paid $25 a piece for. They were expired and Doc Crow’s agreed to honor the purchase amount. Thank you Doc Crow’s. I am an oyster connoisseur and while the oysters tend to be smaller they are good. The oysters were $6 a piece! Last night I tried the pulled pork sandwich with Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese taste like kraft with smoked Gouda in it. The pulled pork was barely warm and no smoke flavor. I ask Darius to replace the Mac and cheese which he did but the fries aren’t the best either. I have had the jambalaya and the gumbo before and not impressed. I’ll definitely be back for the oysters and the nightlife scene…but the food leaves so much to be desired!

I went to Doc Crows looking for a mint julep in the winter. The service was great, the vibe was great and our server, Jade, took great care of us. The remoulade sauce served with the pickles and fried okra was so good that I decided to get a Po Boy. Anything we got that was fried was cooked perfectly! If we are ever in the area, I would definitely go again.

We just tried this restaurant on the spur of the moment and couldn’t have been happier. The food was excellent. You can look at their menu online and see how reasonable prices are. We didn’t drink any alcohol, but they still gave us a tour of the place and explained all the different bottles. If you like bourbon, ask if they will show you around. Some of the nicest workers I have encountered. It was my friends birthday and it’s one he will remember forever.

Had the RD1 bourbon experience in Crows nest. Everything was great. Had sausage appetizer, mozzarella and tomatoes with balsamic glaze, steak and mashed potatoes, then for dessert we had cannolli. Great night. Met some nice people around the table. Just overall great night that I would recommend and go back.

I really wanted to love the bbq but it was fine. It was expensive, the service was great, even when busy they were doing their best. We had reservations, still had to wait for table to get prepped, but once we sat down we had a good time. Not an oyster guy, so can’t speak to it.

I was in love with this place as soon as I walked in and saw the oysters!!!! Yes!!! The grilled oysters were everything along with the smoked brisket and the drinks. Can't remember the name of the beer we had but it was a catchy phrase something like moon over son. Didn't like the fact we had to sit all the way in the back. Huuuuummmm!! Overall a great place to eat. Our service was nice.

Nice atmosphere! The staff at the front was okay friendly. I came in specifically for the KD pie and was not disappointed! 8/10 for the Kentucky Derby pie (both the sauce and whipped cream were a little generic, but the pie itself was not).

We appreciate the reservations. Old Fashioned cocktails were good. We'll have to go back to try some more of their 3000 Bourbons! Food And service were good and it wasn't excessively loud.

I'm sure the food would've been good if it wasn't served ice cold. Left waiting over an hour, and our food had been sitting for a long time. Actually had to go up and get it ourselves because the waiter never came back after telling us he'd bring it right out. Should've known to just leave when it took over 10 minutes just to talk to a hostess. Another 10 minutes to be brought luke warm coffee. 10 more to take the order. Then the waiter goes MIA entirely. I've never walked out of a restaurant in my life, but I couldn't have paid the check if I had wanted to.

Fun place, fast service, extremely fresh rawbar, great BBQ and awesome cocktails. Need I say, spectacular bourbon selection. And the waitstaff is as friendly as can be. Highly recommended. And don't overlook the breakfast. You would think not to go here for breakfast, but it was one of the best places for it in my 6 day trip.

My local coworker said he likes Doc's so I decided to give it a try. It turns out, I have been here before and it's great. Ordered a Crows Nest Amber and Oysters Rockefeller. After I took a photo I realized I ordered the same thing the last time I was here.‍ This time I ordered a salad with shrimp with vinaigrette dressing. It was outstanding. The shrimp was blackened and crispy. The vinaigrette was unique with what looked like stewed tomatoes on top with thinly sliced red onion. Great salad. Since I starved myself since breakfast I decided to also order a stuffed potato with beef brisket. This was a great meal in a friendly place. I enjoyed the bar seat and the will keep Doc's on my short list for Louisville.

I really like Doc Crows in downtown Louisville. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with the old wood floors and brick walls. The food is great and I always recommend the po boy sandwich. They have incredibly fresh oysters on the half shell for being in the middle of the country. The service is always great with super nice wait staff. Give it a try if you are in town.

We were in Kentucky for a basketball tournament & the first night we were looking for a place to eat. One of the couples in our group mentioned they had dinner at Doc Crow's so we checked out the menu & it all looked good. We took the walk over to Whiskey Row & found Doc Crow's. The restaurant was pretty empty then again it was 10pm. Which was surprising that they were open because it seems like everything around closed early. Despite the time, the food came out fast & fresh. We ordered brisket loaded chips & fried green tomatoes as an appetizer. I ordered ribs with mashed potatoes, my son chicken tenders & my daughter & husband split wings & a burger. Everything tasted amazing. The staff was friendly & attentive. It was an excellent experience especially being our first stop in Kentucky.

Great place to get some southern style BBQ. They also serve bourbon flights! I tried the roasted chicken, St Louis ribs and the baby back ribs along with Mac n Cheese and Cornbread. I liked everything but it wasn't amazing. Everything was seasoned well and delicious, but the chicken and ribs were a bit dry. The Cornbread and Mac n Cheese were tasty. I really liked the house made chips that came with the food, highly recommend those if you like chips. The best part for me was the dessert. We got the derby pie and bread pudding and I would recommend both of those if you have a sweet tooth. Get the derby pie with a scoop of ice cream!

Clean bar and friendly staff. Got fried oysters and okra to start (last day before I cut out fried foods don't judge me lol) Then ordered Shrimp & grits with a side of green beans and Crab cakes with a side of mashed potatoes. Food was cool, definitely interested in trying some of the other options on their menu. Doc Crow's is also one of the locations in Louisville where you can purchase Makers Mark Private Selection so bonus points for that!

Good food. We had the breakfast hot brown. Nice people. Prices were high like everyone else's around but the hot brown was large in portion.

I was so pleased with my first visit to Doc Crow's I took my wife for a quick dinner before a play at the Performing Arts Center. This time, I took my own advice, and made a reservation. Luckily, I was told they could "squeeze" us in. BS. When we arrived, there were dozens of tables & booths available. Our server, Janean, was prompt, patient, and knew the menu inside and out. We ordered some drinks while looking over the menu. Since Doc Crow's hangs it hat on Smoked meats we decided to split a BBQ Sampler and a Wedge Salad. We subbed onion rings for their house chips (which I found overly salted on my first visit). BTW, apparently, Doc Crow's isn't aware BBQ and Smoked are not interchangeable terms. The wedge salad was standard fare ... large enough to share. Plenty of dressing (we had it served on the side) along with blue cheese crumbles, bacon & diced tomatoes. The BBQ Sampler was disappointing. The pulled pork was buried in greasy fried onion strings. We almost didn't see the pork until we pushed the onions aside. The brisket was relatively lean and the chicken portion was a full half ... thigh & leg, breast & wing. We ordered the chicken "roasted" which I thought was a strange description for something smoked. And while the onion rings were crip and not greasy, $6 for about 5-6 onion rings was steep. (You save a buck on a side upgrade - so it was an extra $5). Now, I'm not a smoked meat expert by any means, but I certainly expected more "smoke" in the flavor of the brisket and certainly the chicken. In fact, to enter a restaurant that features smoked food, to not get a hint of smoke in the air is unusual. Doc Crow's must have a heck of a ventilation system ;). When I smoke at home, the entire neighborhood is knocking at my door. Look, I'd still return to Doc Crow's. But I'd skip the average BBQ - and go with something else. Their sandwiches & burgers look amazing, and I'd still be tempted to try the ribs. Unfortunately, my next visit won't be with my wife. She wasn't impressed.

Date night was a lot of fun at Doc Crow's! We ordered way too much food for just the two of us, but it was delicious and didn't break the bank. For how yummy it was and how good the service was, I thought this place was reasonably priced for a downtown. The atmosphere is amazing and it's a huge location, so there is plenty of seating and space between tables. It's a fun and comfortable environment. Caesar salad was very yummy, along with the fries and onion rings. These three items were exceptional. Tomato bisque and grilled cheese were fine, but I wouldn't order again. Fried pork chops were great, along with hush puppies and cornbread.

Was staying nearby and this place was recommended. I can see why. Great menu, cool drinks, fun vibe. Stopped by for lunch on a Sunday. The server suggested the brisket. It didn't quite live up to the hype. The meat was inconsistently tender and was a bit more fatty than I wanted. I'd probably try something else next time. Yummy fries. Service was super friendly. Kitchen took a little while but it was Sunday so we can give them a pass.

Really good! The food is amazing like if I go to Louisville again I will make a point to come back for the oysters! Just so fresh and chilled and perfect. I ordered the salmon and that was cooked to perfection the cornbread mash was really good full of flavor slightly sweet and the spinach was also really good. I of course ordered a mint Julip and that was deliciously strong. But I don't care for the ambiance it's not fancy it's dark and loud. Have more dive bar vibes than bistro. But I don't care to much about that just give me some oysters.

If you're ever in Louisville check out this place. It was so good we went back the next morning for their brunch. Our waitress was so nice and very helpful. We went to Kentucky for the Beyoncé concert and had so many restaurants on our list to visit. But this place was so good we couldn't help but go back a second time before we left. Let me just say everything was good

We ordered a loaded baked potato, mild wings, St. Louis style ribs, and chips. For drinks, we ordered the old fashioned and a sex by the bridge cocktail. Service: great. Our server was very attentive. We didn't have reservations and we were able to be seated quickly. We didn't have to wait long for food or drinks. Ambiance: classy. The bourbon display is remarkable. This place is great for date night, business meetings, or friendly outings. Food quality: okay. The food is decent. Would come here for the drink selection.

After a long day at the annual Equip Expo, I walked here for dinner and a refreshing beverage. I asked for a lager, but the waiter thought I said "water" and brought me a margarita basically. I guess when you ask for water in Louisville you're really asking for a margarita? :) no idea. But, the waiter comped the drink and got me my beer. The sandwich was juicy, but bland. I would have preferred extra flavor whether that be from BBQ sauce (there was no sauce on it at all) or in the seasoning. It definitely needed a little something to extra. I did, however, love the potato chips. They tasted baked, they were super crunchy and spicy! It was a total bar vibe, I sat at the bar as they were pretty packed at 9pm on a Tuesday.

Delicious food & drinks! Doc Crow's was recommended to us by a local (we're from out of town). Our waiter Darius recommended drink options (Bourbon smash & smoked Manhattan), the baby back ribs, Mac&cheese & cornbread. Everything was a hit! It was all flavorful & yummy. Darius was friendly, helpful & attentive without hovering. We would definitely come back again!

Came here because it was a short walk for the Galt house where I was staying. The place looks like an upscale bar, but the atmosphere is pretty chill. Our server was very on top of everything even though it was pretty packed during lunch. I got the fried pork chops and my partner got the baby back ribs. The pork was fried and seasoned well except that the batter fell right off the pork when you slice it. But the show stealer was the mashed potatoes. They were seasoned well and soft and creamy. Absolutely the delicious. The ribs on the other hand was a little disappointing. There was barely any meat on it and the meat tasted burnt instead of smoky. The chips also had way too much seasoning on them and was a little too thick for my liking. Generally a decent spot for hanging out with friends

Such a great place right on Whisky Row in downtown Louisville! I've never seen it not be busy, so be prepared to wait a bit for a table. I'm not sure if they have call-ahead seating or reservations, but it's still worth the wait. Their bourbon selection is incredible, as one would expect from a spot on the Row, and their food is delicious! I was in town for a trade show and came here for dinner twice; once by myself and once with coworkers. The first time, I set at the bar and snagged a seat immediately. We put our name in for a table the second time, but ultimately found a small table by the bar. For the first dinner, I had a neat pour of their Yellowstone Barrel pick, which was super flavorful with some black pepper notes and plenty of "fire" going down. For my meal, I had the brisket. It was juicy and perfectly smoked with the exact meat and fat ratio that makes brisket so delicious. For my second dinner here with coworkers, I had Doc's Hot Fried Half Chicken. It was battered to perfection and had a bit of a spice kick, but I was expecting hotter! It was still very good. It was a bit hard to manage at our small table, but I ensured I had plenty of napkins on hand. Great food, great service, and super yum food items!

This place was fabulous and we ordered the half a chicken that was deep-fried in a chili sauce. I got the barbecue potato chips and my husband upgraded to the baked beans, and it was all cooked perfect and fabulous! Virginia our waitress, she was absolutely delightful. She made the best old fashions that we have had on our trip. Maybe the bartenders from Wisconsin need to come take lessons, lol. I WOULD RECOMMEND

Doc, Stock, and Barrel Housed in a historic (1869) building, in DT Louisville's "Whiskey Row," that once housed a storage of assorted liquor barrels. After Prohibition, it became a paper warehouse before turning into Doc Crow's in 2011. The Good: *As mentioned above, it is a great location in Whiskey Row, which is clean and gorgeous, albeit touristy. *Our waiter, Zach C, was exceptional. Really knew the menu, was friendly without being annoying, and gave us just the right amount of visits. *With a menu of over ±2,000 (yes, you read that right), whiskies and bourbons, this place is a whisky-heads dream. *Derby Pie was nothing short of perfection. If you get nothing else out of this review, then I beseech you to just order this, and you'll thank me later. *The Braised Collards were terrific and worth the $2 upcharge. *As one would expect from a place like this, they made a damn, fine old-fashioned. *Carissa's oldest son enjoyed his fried pork chop, and I'll take his word for it as he's a bit of a foodie and a former culinary student. *Out of all their BBQ meats, the pulled pork had the best flavor, juciness, and smoke. The Meh: *Loved the crispiness of the Fried Green Tomatoes, but they desperately lacked seasoning that would've made a decent app into a terrific one. The Ugly: *Quite frankly, none of the BBQ'd meats were good. In fact, I'd say they were downright mediocre; the brisket was chewy and had zero smoke; the Baby Back Ribs were smokey and had good flavor but were dry as a bone; and the smoked Doc's Chicken was also overcooked and not very smokey. TLDR: Great service, mediocre food, and great location. Basically, it's a bit of an overpriced tourist trap.

Looking for local flavor in downtown Luvul, so we found Doc Crow's and had a nice time. It's a lovely venue and deceptively large. Comfy, casual surroundings with wall menu board featuring their bourbon selections. Clean restrooms. Innovative menu that combines some southern classics with a full bbq entree list. Some of the highlights; St. Louis ribs, bright and flavorful and a generous portion. Greens; surprisingly fresh for the beginning of winter and not oversweetened, just simple and fresh. And the derby pie, a Lville classic served a la mode. One item missed the mark; shrimp and grits. Way too much broth/sauce. This really affected flavor and texture, just not shrimp and grits like I've ever had, and in comparison to everything else on the menu, just below the mark. This needs reengineered. Excellent service that met all our needs. Overall, a very nice dinner at an establishment with plenty of character. Do try.

I was in town for a work trip, and I happened to have heard of this place from this "The Most Yelp-Reviewed Restaurant in the Biggest City of Every State" list! Doc Crow's didn't leave me starstruck, but I did had a great dinner with great, friendly service, with a lot of options that I would expect would be offered in Louisville. For apps we shared the Smok'n Wings (1/2 Southern White and 1/2 BBQ Sauce) and Fried Okra. I ordered a Fried Catfish Po Boy. I enjoyed the Doc's Remoulade on the French bread, but I wish some more was smothered on the catfish itself. I am assuming the batter that covered the Catfish had cornmeal because it was the crunchiest "fried" I've ever experienced. On the other hand, it was dry, and could have used that Remoulade. It was a HUGE piece of catfish but almost too much that it didn't fit well in the French bread until I cut some of it. Overall still good, and I ordered it with a side of green beans, which were FANTASTIC. The green beans were steamed and buttered, and had pork bits which were delish. My colleague ordered The Bubba, which left him STUFFED. but it looked as good and incredible as it sounds on the menu - the type of dish to be part of an eating challenge! I didn't partake in drinks but my colleagues had some whiskeys and beers, and thoroughly enjoyed. This was also a spot super convenient to the hotel, which also made it ideal. Given the VERY extensive Whiskey list and many other Southern classic dishes on the menus, Doc Crow's is a spot worth checking out when you're in Louisville!

Stopped in for lunch with a group of folks while in town for work. The service was impeccable! The host and waitstaff (Avery I think was her name) was incredible...I had the shrimp tacos...they were knock out! I didn't necessarily love the house chips (others in my party did love them). I also ordered the fried okra; it was delicious. The other folks in my party all enjoyed their food as well. I would definitely go back if I was in the area again.

I'm so torn on this review because while I enjoyed the food at the time, I'm also fairly certain that I got food poisoning as this was the only meal that I shared with the one other friend on our trip to Louisville who also got sick within 24 hours of eating here. We split the Dixie Southern fried chicken sandwich with Swiss and a side of fries and I'm afraid it was likely the culprit that kept me in the bathroom for 6 hours. I'm not one to hold a grudge though and I'd still come back in the future as it was likely an off day but I'd probably order something else. On the plus side though, I enjoyed my mint julep lemonade!

Had an absolutely amazing experience at Doc Crow's. From start to finish it was great. I sat at the bar. I kicked it off with some bourbon tasting of their special-to-them, and special made, Maker's Mark, and then proceeded with a flight of specialty bourbons. Please see picture. Delicious! I have my favorites from those but I won't share unless you wanna know. The food was great. I had the beef brisket dinner with a side salad. They make house made croutons! So good! The bbq sauce is on the sweeter side, so I simply asked for some hot sauce. I finished off my meal with the derby pie. Also a good choice. I was definitely not disappointed. I went on a Friday afternoon. Great ambiance and not too crowded. Nicole took care of me the whole time. Go out for some delicious eats and drinks and see her!

Yummy bbq. Ample seating, street pd parking. Tried the St. Louis ribs, baby back ribs, smokehouse burger, pulled pork, chips, delicious fries, & finished with local favorite derby pie. Service is friendly but slow like many other reviews mention.

Get the oysters. Not something you say on a landlocked state but they do it right here. The smoked food is terrific and service is great. Funky space on whiskey row is definitely worth a visit

Great spot for some southern cooking downtown on main st. We paid to park on the street via parking meters (Go502 app). We went on a Saturday for lunch and were sat right away. Friendly wait and serving staff. The smoked chicken with a side of the honey bourbon sauce was AMAZING. Highly recommend

This place is hard to get, too. Parking is a challenge. I was excited to try and left very disappointed. We ordered an appetizer which we never received. My wife has a gluten allergy. However, they put regular bread on her plate. Food took forever. It's very loud and hard to have a conversation. Service was average, and chicken was average and way over priced.

Delicious food! A very cool vibe, loved the atmosphere. We had an incredible server in Caitlin R. Our only disappointment was that we made a reservation but still had to wait twenty minutes for a table. We would still give it another try, though.

Ambiance is lively, however can get really loud where you can't hear the person next to you speaking. Everything else is meh, bbq sampler is meh, chips are tasty, Mac n cheese meh. Would try another place before coming back here--kinda disappointed as we were looking forward to good bbq...

We came here based on reviews, and I'm sad we wasted the time. We started with the Heap'n Chips with pulled pork and brisket. The meat was nothing but fat and I didn't care for the season on the chips and they were coated in it. I was going to get the pulled pork sandwich for lunch, but after the nachos being all fat, I knew I wouldn't be happy with that. Instead, I got the Dixie Chicken - Southern Fried Chicken, substituted fries for the chips (+$4) and got a side of jalapeño hush puppies. He got the Fried Pork Chops which came with mashed potatoes and he added jalapeño hush puppies as well. I was very underwhelmed by either meal, the chicken was soaked in grease (see pictures) and his potatoes were flavorless. For $85 I barely ate anything. The place was pretty cool, though, and our waitress was friendly.

Very tasty! Our server Skylar was sweet and attentive. The atmosphere was relaxed but still sophisticated.

Only had apps and a drink to pass time but the staff was friendly and our apps (friend green tomato and fried okra) were both decent but not the best ever. I was fond of the tasty sauce that came with both.

Came to Louisville for a work conference. My group of 7 came here for dinner. Everything was delicious, the service was fast and friendly and the waiter didn't get annoyed when we asked for server ate bills for each person. He was a pro and knew was he was doing!

A relative of my traveling companion reported that he liked Doc Crow's Smokehouse and Raw Bar so much that he returned several times on a recent business trip -- so of course it was on our list of places to visit, and after touring a nearby distillery we stopped in for lunch. I started with a decent beer, an IPA as I recall, selected from the rotation of craft beer they offer on tap. Because Doc Crow's calls itself a "raw bar," I inquired about the oysters on a half-shell. They had three varieties, sold by the each. I ordered several that were sourced from oyster beds in Massachusetts. They were petit, fresh and nicely shucked with no sand or shell fragments. The sauces provided were rather pedestrian so I gave mine a small squeeze of lemon juice and slurped them down. For my sandwich I went with their shrimp po'boy. It was properly constructed with an adequate number of 31-40, commercially breaded, deep fried shrimp, lettuce, tomato and remoulade on a crusty baguette. A heap of kettle-fried potato chips rounded out the plate. Everything was fine -- nothing was exceptional -- but I doubt that I would return several times when there are so many other places to try on Whiskey Row.

Had high hopes for this place after a great recommendation from hotel concierge. Maybe it was just what we ordered but it was just average. Our waiter had way too many tables to take care of but his support staff came through nicely.

First time in Louisville for business. Had to find places to eat and Doc Crow's was friendly for those dining alone. Everyone was friendly and service is timely. The place had a pleasant and chill vibes even though it was initially awkward as I'm an ethnic minority here (in Louisville). The half rack of ribs I ordered were so tender it fell right of the bone as I tried to pick it up. The Old fashioned looked esthetically pleasing and tasted as it should. It went down rather smooth compared with ones I've ordered elsewhere. I'd done research and when in Louisville, I had to try their Derby Pie. I usually don't like chocolate unless in plain chocolate (candy bar) form and I'm not a huge fan of walnuts or others (peanuts, cashews, etc.) but this Derby Pie came out warm, gooey, flakey, and utterly delicious as it hit the spot!

I'm going with the great 5 star rating primarily because of Danielle and the chicken!! We wandered the streets for awhile, trying to find the perfect spot for our first meal of the day and finally decided on Doc Crow's. So glad we did because the food was amazing! The hostess was not welcoming or friendly and appeared to not want to be there or to be dealing with customers at all. Not one smile the entire time we were there as she shuffled customers slowly back and forth. This sets the tone for the experience and we weren't impressed. Thank goodness for Danielle, our server, she made us feel so welcome and genuinely happy to serve us. We did notice that two of the other servers were also like the hostess, very unapproachable and robotic, so some of the other reviews about poor service are understandable. Ask for Danielle, she's amazing! The food is wonderful! Everything we had was cooked to perfection and packed with flavor. The chicken though, oh my gosh! Best smoked chicken I've ever had! The brisket is tender, the ribs absolutely melt in your mouth and the mac & cheese is out of this world! Although the pics don't do it a lot of justice, this was one of the best smokehouse meals we've ever had!

Food very good! Great smoked meats. My wife is a vegetarian and got the grilled portobello mushrooms and she said that was the best mushroom she had ever had. Highly recommend this establishment.

Brisket was delicious and juicy. The spicy chicken was also delicious. Portions were good and prices are fair.

Service was outstanding! Food was great and hot. I got the roasted chicken with greens and my husband got the blackened catfish with Mac and cheese. The chicken was juicy and delicious. The catfish was cooked perfectly. We also got drinks. The smoke j' rita was a delight. The restaurant is very large. We sat in the bar area. Great food with a quieter atmosphere.

I was directed to this place by the hotel.. A mediocre tourist spot. Service was slow and the food as passable but not great.. It is probably OK for a few drinks. It is on the famous "Whiskey Row" so the place caters to tourists. Better to head to the NULU section of downtown that is less for tourists and has some great places.

Think this place gets busy, but I came for a late lunch and walked right in. Place is clean, service was friendly and food was pretty good. I got the fried chicken with chips and some oysters. This chips are just ok, they kinda hyped it up as being special, but wasn't totally impressed.

My work team visited Doc Crows for a dinner while in town! It was a great space for large groups, bar seating, etc. Everyone was super pleased with their dinners. We had things from wings, salads, pork chops, tacos, etc. the quality and cost was great for the portion size. Service was great especially for taking care of 20+ people. Our orders were all correct, cocktails were fantastic, and were overall really pleased with our experience. The location is great and right by the river. If you are visiting Louisville I highly encourage you to check it out!
