"On a nice, breezy day in MiMo, you want to sit at one of Dogma’s outdoor tables with some chips, a hot dog, and a beer. The sidewalk hotdog stand has been a local landmark for years—the kind of place where you’ll see little leaguers celebrating a win alongside a couple of club kids in sunglasses trying to beat a hangover. The hot dogs showcase styles from around the country with Chicago, Atlanta, and Coney Island versions. But they also go international with a Colombian dog featuring Thousand Island dressing, chips, swiss cheese, pineapple, and bacon—which is exactly what you need if you just danced for nine hours straight at Space. "Dogma is a United Nations of locals. As you wait to order, you might spot construction workers on their lunch break, club kids squinting at the sun for the first time in 12 hours, or that aging Miamian who has spent way too much time tanning. The menu here is full of many great regional options: a Coney Island dog with brown mustard and sauerkraut, a Texas dog with bacon and American cheese, a Jersey dog with grilled onions, sweet peppers, and potatoes. But our favorite is the Chicago dog. Sour and crunchy from the pickle spear, sweet from the neon green relish, with just a bit of heat from the pepper, every bite is perfect. Enjoy it to-go or on Dogma’s little outdoor patio. And feel free to buy an extra water for those club kids—they probably need it." - charlie crespo, ryan pfeffer
"This restaurant on Biscayne Boulevard is a popular hangout spot with shady outdoor areas under tents for guests to enjoy a wide range of state-themed hot dogs. The Texas Tommy features bacon and American cheese, while the Jersey Dog is packed with grilled onions, sweet peppers, and potatoes and served in an Italian roll. Dogma also offers a Chicago-style hot dog, loaded with yellow mustard, neon relish, chopped onions, chopped tomatoes, peppers, a pickle, and a sprinkle of celery salt." - Juliana Accioly
"Money aside, we find it very hard to not pull over every time we pass Dogma in MiMo. But considering these great hotdogs are just about all under $5, it’s a miracle we’re not 90% encased meat at this point. There really isn’t a bad call on the menu, and you should probably try a few to find your favorite. Just make sure the Colombian-style tropical dog with crumbled potato chips, pineapple, and bacon is one of them." - ryan pfeffer
"At Dogma, an outdoor hot dog stand in MiMo, you can pay for your food in advance, usually find a free parking spot (with quick access to Biscayne), and the staff is sequestered inside a small kitchen—so they probably won’t see what’s happening. Also, if you’re like us, you can eat a hot dog in roughly three minutes. That means you won’t have to awkwardly linger in order to finish a bowl of ramen or something." - Virginia Otazo, Ryan Pfeffer
