Portland Coffee Roaster Dear Francis Is Making Blends Cool Again - Eater Portland

"Dear Francis, in a sense, is evolving to reflect that new era of consumption; it’s not discarding what Third Wave built, but expanding it — leaning into subscriptions and hosting pop-ups at neighbors’ shops, like a residency at Dogwood Wine & Flowers Shop, to meet the market more intimately while avoiding high rent costs." - Paolo Bicchieri

Loved our time at this wine and flower shop! It was perfect for our friend group before our dinner out. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. It was so evident that this is a local spot that the neighbors love to have around. Wish there was one where I live!

Every time I come in here, there is a wonderful selection of handmade flower bundles and arrangements. The huge wall of wine is also a sight to behold! The owners are very knowledgeable and are happy to help you with whatever you need. The prices for both the flowers and the wine are super reasonable too. We're very excited for the wine club and pickup parties!

This place is so cute. They have a great wine collection at reasonable prices. Their tastings and corkage also provides a great sampler of different wines. It's a great place to meet friends, even those with kids, and just relax over a glass of wine and chat. They are always willing to give recommendations too. I'm not sure how their flower situation works. I should ask but I've always been focused on wine when I go in there. They have a bunch of flowers waiting to be put together...but I don't know how to put a bouquet together. I'd say that it's also a great spot on a nice day - the outside space is really cute and comfy. They're making improvements to it now as well that will make it even better.

Best little family owned wine shop in Alberta Arts District!! The wine selection is fabulous with varying price-points. Brandt and crew are awesome at helping you find a wine you'd enjoy! You'll always feel welcomed in their adorable warm space, surrounded by beautiful flowers, wine and good people. Salud🍷

Amazing selection of wine. Gorgeous flowers and such a cool place to hang out for a glass. Brant can help you select a great wine for any budget, or for whatever mood you're in. Gabi has an eye for flowers that is unparalleled to anyone I've ever met. Her creations are simply beautiful. Their little newborn, Greenie is so so cute too!

Looking for flowers, wine, and yummy snacks to go with? Look no further. The combination of beautiful bouquets and stellar wine is unmatched. I come here anytime I need something to bring to a dinner party, knowing anything I grab will impress. I'm always impressed by the employees knowledge of both wine and flowers!

Google
Love this place! Tucked away slightly it feels like a hidden gem. Brant is the most knowledgeable guide when it comes to wine, and a hella warm and thoughtful guy as well. Great place to support local and pick up some wine and flowers next time you need a hostess gift! Gabby's flower arrangements are so effortlessly beautiful. Again, a gem! Start of your date night here.

Yelp
Great concept, small but cute for the neighborhood. Service ~ poor. No enthusiasm in what they have to offer. Cannot offer a smile but can gesture for a tip. Expensive pour for little experience.

Yelp
This place is simply too cute. The wines are creative and tasty. And the flower shop is beautiful. Plenty of outdoor space for me and the dog. I walked by here several times, without stopping, and I can kick myself for not coming here earlier. Amazing. Gabby, the co-owner, was super friendly and helpful. I'll be back with friends next.

Yelp
What an experience! Family friendly environment, great wine, quality food and the owners are superb. Highly recommend. And the guy behind the front counter is on point!

Yelp
Dogwood's inviting space with its comforting ambiance and beautiful flowers caught our eyes, so my husband and I stopped in for a drink and small bites. The wine is thoughtfully curated and refreshing. The tinned seafood takes you to Europe. The Manchego cheese will bring us back. The shop's owner is friendly and warm. A lovely, sweet spot.

Yelp
I celebrated my birthday with friends & family @ Dogwood and really enjoyed my experience! Brant was incredibly helpful and easy to work with and went above and beyond in everything he did for our group. The shop is absolutely beautiful and really great for an intimate event to get together with friends. Brant's wife is a florist, so on top of the impeccable wine curation, there are gorgeous bud vases and a flower wall of really gorgeous, unique flowers. We were planning on just doing snacks rather than filling food, so we went with the ciabatta, almonds & olives which were all delicious. We also had Lambrusco & rosé which we really enjoyed as well. I can't say enough good things about Dogwood & it's owners. Highly recommend!! I wish I had pictures to share, but we didn't take any we were having such a great time!!

Yelp
My wife and I have been members of the Dogwood wine club for over 2 yrs now. We love the pickup parties and opportunity to taste and learn about wines we would have never thought of. The owners are knowledgeable and approachable, they also change out their glass pours often. We love visiting Dogwood and telling all of our friends about it, it is truly a hidden gem in the neighborhood.

Yelp
Such a sweet spot to relax and sip a glass of wine or get a bottle or flowers. The vibe is always friendly and not snooty. Bottles are really well-priced and they work at differentiating their selection from other natural wine shops/bars. If you're a local join the wine club and enjoy their monthly tastings and a discount.

Yelp
The cutest little shop tucked away in the also cutest, hip arts district in PDX! Dogwood offers a variety of beautifully arranged flowers and a wall of wines that anyone could find something suitable for their preference. Their rosè was amazing that even the boyfriend who preferences beer asked for more! We met the owners who were so warm and welcoming. You could tell the amount of detail, craftsmanship, and all around love they put into the store.

Yelp
I honestly feel upset with even a 1. I see so many high ratings for this shop, and I am dumbfounded. The owner was rude and absolutely forgetful. I asked simple questions about flower arrangements for my wife's birthday party. She looked at me, and then talked to me like I was some kind of idiot. I asked if she had some nice ideas..... she said, of course I do, that's why I have a store..... okay....Can you explain further? She then said I can later if you come back when Im not dealing with other problems Im having.???? Lol. I said can I have some wine and wait? She said if you want to. I've been here before for wine and the recommendations were bad. It's as though they say what you want to here. The food is as good as the buzz you have. Not great. I won't be back. I've tried enough times to know a bad shop.

Yelp
Highly recommend! Happened to be among their first customers in the first hour of their first day of business and really enjoyed the experience. So much to love about this place, I'll mention just three: 1. Indy shop warriors! Anyone who opens any business during a global pandemic is clearly passionate and brave and deserves a look. This young newly married couple put so much heart and muscle into transforming this storefront space into something very special over the past several months. You may have read their story on Eater (http://bit.ly/DogwoodEater) or in The Oregonian (http://bit.ly/DogwoodOregonian; email required). 2. Personalized service. When I gave him a brief example of what kind of wine I do and don't like and why, he happily gave me a few tailored suggestions, at different price points, which made it easy. No pressure, no snobbery. Just approachable and appreciated. Meanwhile, the other owner was engaging in lively convo with customers about their choice of lovely bouquets, which created more good energy. 3. Supporting other locals. Noticed that near the flowers was a handwritten poster of "Our Farmers This Week!" (with no fewer than 10 listed, all of them an easy drive away), and the wines skew regional, with an eye to those who harvest in ways that will impress you. Bottom line: They've created a whole network of folks who are working hard to bring you that delicious Pinot and those swoon-worthy peonies. No personal or professional affiliation for me, just eager to see this new indy shop thrive in tough times. Join the crowd following them on Insta at @dogwoodpdx (http://bit.ly/DogwoodInsta), then drop by!

Yelp
I visited Dogwood for the first time yesterday afternoon. A friend had recommended I check this place out due to their combo of wine and flowers (two of my favorite things). Upon arriving, the man at the counter said a quiet hello, then proceeded to turn around and wash dishes. I commented that this was our first time in, and he didn't offer any kind of typical response, such as "Let me tell you a little about our vibe" or "Are you in the mood for a glass of wine?" Nothing. My husband and I ordered two glasses of wine, then sat down at the farmhouse table. We were the only patrons for at least 45 minutes. During this time, the server/staff person NEVER spoke to us. He didn't ask us how the wine tasted nor did he ask if we wanted a second glass (despite my husband's being empty for quite some time). While we weren't looking to be chaperoned or entertained, the awkward silence and complete lack of hospitality was confusing and disappointing. The space is absolutely beautiful and the wine was delicious. It's certainly "instagrammable." However, I will not be back due to the ambivalent and underwhelming customer service.

Yelp
Fantastic little wine and flower shop in the Alberta Arts District. The florist makes beautiful seasonal bouquets and the wine selection is thoughtful. You can also grab a glass and sit on the patio or at the communal table, just gotta order at the counter.

Yelp
The most clever idea for a store. The loveliest owners and a hand crafted experience that truly comes from love and passion for good wine and beautiful flowers. If you haven't been yet, what are you even waiting for?!

Jake M.

Yelp
Good selection of yummy wine and very cute outdoor seating, definitely recommend going on a sunny day and sitting outside!

Yelp
Seriously the best little flower and wine shop! My 2 favorite things!! I stumbled by here and picked up some delicious wines and some flowers for my partner! What a win!

Yelp
What a wonderful addition to the Alberta neighborhood. So nice to be able to walk around the corner and pick up a locally sourced, exquisitely crafted bouquet and a bottle of wine (or more)! The interior space is so light and airy and also provides a nice escape. Highly recommend a visit.
