A California Wine Pro Is Opening a Bottle Shop in the Alberta Arts District | Eater Portland

"I'm excited about a new wine bar and florist coming to Northeast Portland from Brant Ozanich and Gabriella “Gabby” Terracciano that will function as a neighborhood bottle and flower shop with an emphasis on small-production wines “with a proclivity towards BIPOC producers,” in Ozanich’s words. The couple moved from the Bay Area—Ozanich having worked at restaurants like The Morris and A16 and Terracciano making bouquets and arrangements for clients—and both studied in France; Ozanich even went to Burgundy for the pinot noir harvest after becoming a certified sommelier and views wine as a way to explore history, geography, climate, soil, and the personalities behind the wine. Set to open in spring (likely April) at 4932 NE 30th Avenue, Dogwood will start as a retail shop with bottles from France, Spain, California, and Oregon and later seek an onsite consumption license to offer tastings, after-work glass pours, and wreath-building and wine classes. Terracciano will source plants from women-owned farms and transform them into arrangements with an “avant-garde, elegant touch,” and the name Dogwood nods to the first flower she was ever given and pressed—dogwoods also bloom in Portland in spring, the month they plan to open.
