"Known for its bomba — a filled, deep-fried doughnut — and the magnificent pesca — an incredibly sweet, boozy, cream-filled doughnut crafted to look like a pink peach — Dolce Maniera is located near the Vatican. Here, you descend a small staircase into the miniscule basement bakery, which is packed wall-to-wall with pastries, meaning you can survey the full selection while waiting in the queue to make an informed decision." - Lara Gilmour

This local bakery doesn't look much from the street walk down the stairs you enter a small room surrounds by such a vast choice of mainly sweet deserts and some savoy, you are simple spoilt for choice.. this is where the locals go, slightly further to walk but we are only talk a couple of minutes, price wise 50 cents upwards. I would highly recommend either there Pistachio cream croissant, or the chocolate orange croissant.

This is a landmark of all of Prati and Rome. This place has been around for many decades. It's almost like a cult, you go down the stairs and you have to see everything. Bakery and all Italian desserts you can imagine.

A lot of products available here mainly sweet but the odd savoury too. Tried a pizza/ focaccia, croissant and some Papal biscuits; they were nice but sometimes a little dry. Staff were friendly.

Worth a trip just to see their amazing cakes on display. Also a warning that after a visit here, all other cake shops will see lower quality and higher priced.

24 hour great English service and awesome sweets. THEY HAD A POPE COOKIE?!?! The door leads down some stairs to the goods. You might miss it if you walk on the other side during the day. Super yummy slice, cannoli and cream filled croissant concoctions. I need to stay away otherwise I will be gaining a few...

We used to go to this place every time we were in Rome. The absolutely best rum di babà I’ve had in my life. Unfortunately, it looks like the place is not working anymore.

No wonder this bakery is recommended by the lonely planet or other bloggers. The basement bakery has a wide variety of different pastries, snacks and croissants. The staff is friendly and the prices are average. The quality of the cannoli I can recommend for sure.
