A Food and Wine Lover’s Guide to the Loire Valley | Eater

"Domaine des Pierrettes was founded in the 19th century and has made high-quality sauvignon blanc on over 60 acres of land ever since. They’ve been working since 2018 to make the vineyard more sustainable and promote biodiversity with beehives and recently obtained a High Environmental Value certification. The winemakers like to experiment, from an off-dry sauvignon blanc to wines made without sulfur, or “Sine Sulfuris,” to their “Origin” cuvée made from Côt, or Malbec. The winery is open year-round, including every day in the summer. It also hosts events, from an open-air market to summer concerts with food trucks and wine tastings." - Lee Musho

Vincent was so nice! We had a great afternoon doing a wine tasting, then bought our favorite bottle and sat in the shade enjoying our wine, relaxing, and chatting with Vincent here and there in French and English. This is a wonderful vineyard with many varieties and easily accessed off the bike path. We loved it- merci Vincent

Great wine tasting, Vincent was super friendly and we tasted a lot of wines! Certainly walked away with a few boxes of good reds and whites. Vincent also gave us recommendations of local restaurants in the area which was much appreciated.

Great friendly welcome from the owners who are passionate about their wines. Thank you, highlight of our cycling day

Nice folks welcoming passing cyclists and walkers (velo de loire route) with wine tastings - all their own production from grape to bottle. We loved the Fine Bulles (fine bubbles), myself prefering the round and biscuity Chenin Blanche and my wife the more mineral Sauvignon Rose. Make sure to sample the 2 year aged Malbec - wow Oak, cave and velvet - it's 20 Euro a bottle so not everyday Vin! Anyway I came back with the car and bought 2 cases of wines!

Absolutely brilliant vineyard and one of the best we visited during our time in Loire Valley. The owners and team were very welcoming (including their friendly dog!) and happily spoke English. They accommodated us as a small group immediately with tasting of all their wines. There was no rush, with each wine presented with pride, allowing us to see which ones we liked most. Several wines on offer have very high Vivino ratings and all were a reasonable price. We left happy with several boxes, all packaged up safely for our trip home. As with the other reviews, this is a must to visit!

Really nice lady who spoke both French and English, presented us with their whole range of wines. We tasted and left with a few bottles on our bikes.

Agree with other reviews. Very welcoming. The tasting and information was excellent. Good choice of wines at a very reasonable cost. We were very happy to buy 6 bottles and look forward to sharing them with family and friends.

Bernard was great. A special welcoming experience with incredible wine. If you are driving past, it is worth a stop.
