DomaineLA - Review - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"One of LA’s original natural wine-focused spots, Domaine is a West Hollywood shop with a massive selection of biodynamic wines from Chile, Australia, and Europe (and California, too). Just call them, give them an idea of what wines you usually drink and how much you’re looking to spend, and they’ll put together something you’ll like. Order through their website, or call for curbside pick-up - (323) 932-0280. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation

Our Favorite LA Wine Shops

"Owner Jill Bernheimer opened up Domaine in 2009, specializing in Italian and French natural wines. She’s basically an encyclopedia of natural wines, having tasted each of the thousands of bottles in her store, so whether you’re talking to her, or another of the wine super-fans who work at Domaine, you can be sure you’ll walk out with something exciting at a reasonable price. Order online or call (323) 932-0280 for pick-up." - brett keating

Google
I had the opportunity to stop in and do their Sunday wine tasting. They offered lots of great information on each wine; some very unique wines even a new to me grape varietal from France. They have a large selection of wines and their staff is very knowledgeable about wine. I’d highly recommended this spot to grab a bottle of wine and definitely check out their Sunday tasting!!

Google
I love this place. Do you wander around LA asking for natural wines and get stared at like you’re an alien? Not here, because everything is natural which means it’s also vegan! Yayyy. Be aware the chicken restaurant has people park on the curb. Just ignore that and pull in through the alley or go around the queue.

Google
I don't know why you would look elsewhere for wine in Los Angeles. The team at Domaine LA has the most interesting selection, is super approachable, and doesn't make you feel dumb for asking questions about wine. Bonus: they have one of the most reasonably priced and exciting wine clubs in SoCal - choose from the Gastronomist to build your wine knowledge or the Naturalist to get awesomely experiential and enjoy two of the most unique wines you'll ever try each month. Or don't choose - join both. I once called them on my way to a party and described a wine I wanted to drink -they had a bottle chilled waiting for me to pick up that perfectly fit what I was going for.

Best wine shop in LA. All of the selection and none of the snobbish attitude. Great group of women staff, always happy to help. The best! Just wish they were open later for late night runs, can’t have it all.

Google
We had fun of shopping wine at this Wine shop, and the wine was phenomenal! The back deck is truly quieting and calm. The staff is extremely proficient and considerate. Astonishing to be both of you! Very advantageous for tasting a few distinct sorts of wine. Take a party, and you will have a ball! I'm certain I'll return here sometime later.

Google
Are you looking for a suitable gift for your father, grandparents, or uncle? This sandwich shop is the perfect place for them! At this coffee bar, they will buy their favorite hard liquor! They feature a larger variety of delicacies than any other wine store in town. Pastries also including croissants, bread, cupcakes, and cakes are now on the menu! This is an absolute must-try!

Google
The staff here are friendly and knowledgeable about their work. They truly have a wide selection of wines, and I'm happy because everything that I needed was here. I could not ask for more about the service from these guys because it was certainly amazing. A highly recommendable place!

Google
A5 stars all the way for this wine shop. The quality of their wines and service they provided was amazing! It was a nice experience for me for the first time. I am deeply impressed by how they handled their many customers genuinely with no hassles at all. Such a perfect place to chill and taste incredible wines. Thumbs up!

Yelp
This is my go-to wine shop when I'm looking for a fun, unique natural wine. They have an extensive selection of natural wines from around the world which are definitely the trend these days. One nice feature is that they can track the wines you purchase so if you come back and can't remember that exact bottle (or forgot from the tasty wine!) they'll be able to pull it up. Ask about their tastings -- it's been on my list of things to do but just haven't had the opportunity to check it out.

Yelp
Came in on a Sunday and they had a wine tasting event for $15 + taxes which was very useful as most of their wines are very much niche. Most options here lean into the "natural/ unfiltered/ taste-like-kombucha" kind of wines but you can find interesting options without feeling overwhelmed by too many labels. Service was OK. Polite although not very knowledgable about wine, varietals, terroir, and wine making

Yelp
Just came in today for the first time although I'm a local the service was welcoming attentive and knowledgeable Nice selection of wines and was pleasant to walk around and look through Many I've never seen before in markets hehe Was helped to get a very lovely and compassionate priced Chardonnay Many thanks ! Will definitely be back

Yelp
A friend of mine requested a couple of CA natural wines and when he visited here pre-COVID he enjoyed the selection he picked up here so I figured I would come back here since it was a safe bet. However, since COVID they've only done pick up only. I was already in their lot so I thought ordering online would be a little awkward; I'm not a wine connoisseur and came here for their expertise and advice. There was a sign on their door that said call-in orders were also accepted so I called their number and explained what I wanted: 6 natural wines (3 red, 3 white,) local preferred and a total cost estimate of what I was looking for. Once I said the price point the immediate response was if it was a hard number or was there some flex, it put me a little on edge. I wasn't sure exactly how much flex that meant and felt like it was solely at the staff person's discretion. He went through a number of wines with some tasting notes and a short description and then the price. I didn't feel like I was in a position to really say no and got the 6 wines that was over budget but ok. I did mention that I was going to ship the items and he was quick to bring up some wine shippers and if I wanted them and when I said yes he then mentioned the cost. I appreciate being able to order so quickly but it felt like a bit of a hard sell since I was unsure of what to get and was solely reliant on the over the phone description, some of which kind of fell out of bounds with what I stated and with some of the upsell at the end.

Yelp
Let's just start by saying, I am new to wine. I arrived at Domaine LA with an introductory list from my brother who is very familiar with wines. As I entered the shop, I was immediately helped by Jenna who was very friendly and knowledgeable. She immediately started working on my list while I explored the space, which has an open layout and was really clean. They have many options of wine and beers as well. The general feel I got from Domaine was that they lean towards an educational approach (not wine snobs) and are incredibly welcoming to anyone. You get a 10% discount if you buy a case (12 bottles). Totally recommend!

Yelp
Good and useful selection for a fairly small shop. knowledgeable, helpful staff. Somewhat higher prices than elsewhere. Several wines from unusual countries (Georgia, Greece, Eastern Europe). Convenient and easy parking.

Yelp
I love this place! Insane selection. Great staff. Extremely polite and helpful. If you ask them for their advice, you'll likely learn something AND walk out with a great bottle in hand! They do events, like tastings on Friday night, or an anniversary party with tastings from a unique winemaker. GO!!!

Yelp
Fantastic service, attentive and highly knowledgeable team, easy parking, truly everything you need for wine and gifting. My job has worked with them for years and will continue to do so.

Veronica M.

Yelp
Lovely selection of 'interesting' wine (natural wines, ~$25-$60 price point, limited 'traditional' selection, limited premium selection), but in the 3 times I've been, staff has never so much as acknowledged me when I go inside. Perhaps because I look younger, which is unfortunate given how much I love wine. Given the type of wine they stock/their store motto, you'd think they'd be a little warmer/friendlier. I've overhead the staff help others in the store. Seems like the staff has very disparate levels of wine knowledge-- some knowing very little, others knowing more. Oh well! Will continue to occasionally patronize when I need fun wine in a pinch; but will try to focus my business elsewhere where the service is better.

Johnny R.

Yelp
they're closed or went out of biz. Just drove half hour here. Needed to pickup a bottle and running super late. Dang it

Yelp
Worst customer service on top of price gouging. I saw that they had one of my favorite Bourbon which I always buy elsewhere and I asked for their price. Oh boy....300% higher than other vendors retail price, on one item, is high enough for me to think that's how they are with all their pricing. This is what I am thinking. In the age of information that we live in, people know or will find out the right prices for what they are quoted. Once that trust is betrayed or they feel they are being robbed, they will never come back. If the MSRP or retail price is good enough for the honest retailer, then should be enough for these people. So shame on you for gauging!

Yelp
I came here to pick up a Pinot Noir to meet a friend. The lady who helped me (sorry I didn't catch her name, but she was cute) was very nice and guided me to the wines that I should buy. I ended up choosing a California Pinot Noir, the Hope Well 2019, since the lady said the other wines weren't ready to drink yet. I don't know anything about wine, but my friend is a sommelier so I didn't just want to buy anything random from BevMo. I enjoyed the wine with my friend and would definitely come again for more of my wine needs. They had a small parking lot, but not many cars were there when I arrived. There's also good side streets to park at.

Yelp
Outstanding selection of natural and biodynamic wines from my favorite importers and distributors. 10% off when you buy a case. Do it.

Yelp
Love this spot. Jill is a pairing genius! Super knowledgeable and sweet! Favorite winery in the area!

Yelp
Natural wine paradise. Steps to finding a good natty wine: 1. Park in their dedicated lot - LA rarity 2. Participate in the tasting of the day- consider it a pallet cleanser. 3. Pick out wines that you enjoyed from the tasting- but don't buy them! 4. Tell the staff which ones you liked and why (no worries if you don't know why) and tell them your budget. 5. Don't go over your budget 6. Drink another tasting and find a spot at Ludo's next door. Enjoy bitches!

Yelp
The week I was in Los Angeles the store only offered pick up service. There selection online is amazing. I order Ed a few bottles online and had them shopped to Louisiana. The store processed my order the same day and shipped the next morning. My wines were waiting on my when I made it home. Excellent service!!
google avatar

Yelp
Great natural wine shop! I always rely on the staff to pick out varietals for my budget and they never let me down. I've had some really nice orange and rosés from them.

Yelp
Staff is very knowledgeable. The location is perfect. Awesome neighborhood wine shop.

Yelp
I'll start by saying their product is good. They have a good selection and I've discovered gems at this location. With that said, I've been there a dozen times (due to not being able to find specific botttles at other store or location convenience) and the majority of times the sales people have been short and rude. I've asked questions like "what are you drinking, what's your best seller, which one do you recommend etc" and most of the time I get a tired response. I've been there several times when I'm the only customer and they were rude. After watching the sales people's pattern I also realized I was the only person of color when I experienced poor customer service. The least worse experience I've had is when I know exactly what I want and just walk up to the register. Unfortunately, half the time they are rude there as well. I'll be looking for my wine online or somewhere else.

Yelp
This winery is really amazing They have all kinds of wines and the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the wines there Highly recommended

Yelp
This is a great neighborhood wine shop. They have a large selection of wines, mostly from small wineries. I typically ask for help when I go and they've always been very friendly and helpful. They also have a selection of wines by price range which I like and have a refrigerator of wines in case you need a chilled rosé ASAP. They do wine tastings as well. I've never ordered inline so can't speak to that. They have parking but it's usually crowded so I'll just park on Mansfield even if it's permit only, and just run in and out quickly.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place. The owner, Jill, helped me pick a beautiful sherry to pair with my girlfriend's dinner. I described to her the flavors of the meal and she knew exactly what would do well with it. I will be coming here for every needed wine pairing! Also the pricing is on point!
google avatar

Debby B.

Yelp
This wine store is a true boutique: the product is hand-selected and the staff is 100% knowledgeable about everything here. I found out that the owner, Jill, has extensive education as well as experience in wine and it's pretty obvious. Plus the store is very cute and clean and modern and the location is accessible with parking. I wish all retail stores were like this: I hate the generic, lowest common denominator retail stores that are the norm. This store went out on a limb to be the finest, not just stock the cheapest or even most popular. It is truly for a discerning taste (and no, I don't mean expensive). Treat yourself to a tasting here and end up with a memorable bottle for that special occasion, or just to make today special.

Yelp
We had been on the search for over 2 years for Susucaru wine. We've searched high and low and unfortunately could never find this in our area or even close. It's always sold out when we try to have it shipped as well. Made a trip from San Diego today for 2 bottles today after finding out they had it ! Placed an order over the phone and it was placed outside for pick up! Nice and easy :) after opening up a bottle and trying it, definitely worth the drive ! Thanks !!

Yelp
Came here for a joint event between Domaine LA and Chef Ludo.. Paella and Wine; two of my favorite things in one? Hard to beat! The event was a massive success and a ton of fun. It's great to see wine shops organizing these type of events. On top of that, I really dig that they sell a lot of small batch wines that you might not be able to find at other wiine shops. The staff is super friendly and very knowledgeable. One of the ladies (I forget her name) actually used to be the sommelier who for a few of Ludo's Ludo Bites series before she took on this adventure. Don't miss the little ice chest by the entrance that sells some delicious ice creams from CarmeLA! And if you're not sure what to get, there's a fun chalkboard with some nice bargains and finds to suggest~

Yelp
Wonderful wine selection. Even better monthly wine clubs. Very happy with my membership. Never had a wine in the club that we didn't love.

Yelp
They didn't check my ID. They don't care. The lady who works there is very very rude.

Yelp
Thanks to Jenny Lewis for working with Domaine to sell her wines, I have been introduced to this wonderful place! I have been there twice in the last month and look forward to going back. Great selection and and very knowledgeable staff!

Yelp
I've been coming to buy wine from Jill for 10 years, and I've learned so much from her and her staff over the years! I love how they support smaller wine makers and they have an incredible selection!
google avatar

Yelp
Visiting LA, we had asked a reliable source at home for a recommendation of a wine store. One he recommended was Domaine LA. The selection was very good and prices seemed a little high but this is California. The value of this store is in the few gems, you can pick up. If we lived close to here, we'd probably frequent it but with the options in California I probably wouldn't go out of my way to buy wines here.

Danielle M.

Yelp
Great wine and great owner! This establishment is proactive in protecting customers against covid, and creating a safe and healthy environment for wine enthusiasts!
google avatar

Yelp
The girl at the front counter has the worst attitude. Customer service is everything. I definitely won't be coming back here.

Yelp
Wanted to like it more than I did. It's walking distance from my house so was excited by the prospect of not having to drive to K&L all the time. Strolled in to the store and was disappointed to find wines you can buy anywhere in town except that Domaine LA's prices are higher than K&L , Wine House, Wally's, and even Whole Foods..for the same wines. Yes, this is a small shop and maybe that's not a fair criticism, they can't price as low as the big stores. But because of the lousy economy there's a lot of GREAT wine on the market right now at bargain prices. This an era for small shops to thrive whether high-end or lower-end. One can walk into a notoriously overpriced and pretentious store like Beverly Hills Wine Merchant and pick up a fantastic Burgundy for $35. Perennial-bargain shops like Greenblatt's are chock full of unique, well-crafted wines for $15 and under. I'm surprised that Domaine LA is not going down the same path. I'm sure I'll go here in a pinch, especially because it's close by. I wish the owners the best of luck. I think this is a wine store that would do really well in a smaller city, but I think it will be tough going in L.A. unless they get a little more creative and aggressive with their inventory and price point.
google avatar

Brian U.

Yelp
Given the trend of overpriced, pretentious boutique wine shoppes (yes, I spelled shop the pompous way, but if the shoe fits...), I honestly didn't expect to buy anything. I quickly found three affordable bottles. They were all imports as their foreign wines were more appealing than the domestics. The playful chalkboard with lighthearted comments that surrounds the racks was a fun touch. It helped show that this is not a self-important store, but a shop that thinks wine is a pleasurable drink and not an elitist hobby. The selection had smart offerings of both high and low priced wines. They have a computer to lookup wines on the Internet. That might seem overly confident with their selections and prices, but they back it up. On the downside, the inventory is still small, there is no liquor, and the parking lot is painfully tiny.
google avatar

Javier J.

Yelp
The wine layout is what makes this place stand apart of others. Oh yeah, and the events they hold are fairly impressive. Stuff like having Chef Ludo sling some delicious food, well, you can't go wrong with that. But back to the layout of the establishment. It's really what sets this apart from other spaces when you're looking for wine. It doesn't feel like one box of nameless, faceless labels sticking out at you in a storage setting. No, you have room to move and see what is exactly what. The staff is on top of their game - so clearly they've choose the right time when to sample their wares - as you can describe what flavor profile or what type of food you'll be serving up and they'll be able to get a fairly spot on mark on what you'll like and what would go great with what. Pricing is also relatively competitive. I mean, it's wine. You're going to see a wide range between bottles based on all sorts of voodoo magic that crushed and fermented grapes actually cost based on region. And before you ask, yes, region does play a big factor into it. While I'm not always opposed to two buck chuck - hey, art galleries need that $2,99 bottle to keep those guest's art observations flowing - this place will get you something you'd want to take to a dinner party and be proud of flashing that vintage and label.

Yelp
Started dating a new guy just before Valentine's day and since we're both foodies who love to cook - he offered to make me dinner (yes - big points for that!)... Since he was making pasta (from scratch!) - I offered to pick up a bottle of wine. I don't normally drink often (just not my thing) so I only know of about 2 bottles at Trader Joe's that I like for sure. Felt like trying something new, but didn't wanna chance buying a bottle for Valentine's day and having it end up being terrible. I was talking to a friend at work who LOVES wine, and she said the folks at Domain LA give perfect, spot on recommendations. Intrigued, I decided to give it a whirl. I expected them to be slammed (since it WAS Valentine's Day!) but I must have caught a lull, because at 330pm, I was one of 2 people in the store. A sales person walked up right away and I explained my situation. I told her types of wines that I tend to like, and my price range, and she pulled 2 for me within 5 minutes. The pinot noir she recommended (Atonement) was spot on - PERFECT and complemented a wonderful meal in just the right way! The second bottle (Fiction) which was a blend--however was WAY off. Too strong and bitey. Fortunately, I opened that one at home with a friend a week or so later, and we had another bottle on hand, so we just dumped the Fiction. Still, I was impressed with the general knowledge of their staff, and would certainly give their recommendations another go around. Ended up having a lovely Valentine's Day - and now have a new favorite wine (and really nice guy to share it with!).

Yelp
Ordered twice, first time with no issue. However, the second time I ordered two time limited special event wines that I never received. No follow-up was given and still no explanation today, wine is not cheap to just lose in the mail!

Yelp
I drove by and saw it. There it was. A beacon of awesomeness and a denial of our economy in all its glory (sometimes a good glass of wine is just what you need to get over the fact that your stock just plummeted..or, you know, the fact that you chose life as a *jazz musician*). And right on Melrose. Could it be? It was. I was on my way to see someone so I didn't stop in. But then on the way home a couple hours later I detoured and stopped by. What can say? I just couldn't get it out of my mind. Jill is a rockstar. She twitters, she's seen a huge amount of Wine LIbrary TV, and didn't miss a beat when I asked about Gary Vayner-awesome. She's hip (case in point, the modern decor and the Herman Miller seating), she's cool, she's a good conversationalist...and well, she pumped my ego when she told me she'd seen the episode where I guested on Vaynerchuk's Wine Library TV (episode #494). Not only that, but I think her wine selection is very nice. She has bottles and labels in all price ranges, is respectful of people with different palates than hers (I LOVE Chilean wines, she doesn't). The store is not a huge win warehouse like some others, where you have no idea which $15 cabernet to buy. If you're looking for something in a specific price range, the selection may be smaller, but you know it'll be good. And THAT'S something that, however much I adore K & L, Wine House, and Costco...you just can't get there. Domaine LA is lovely, the space is beautiful, the service is personal, and the wine is great. Jill recommended a nice, subtle, French sauvignon blanc (not a Sancerre, but from the Loire valley). OH! AND they carry the Didier Dagueneau Silex. Expensive, but the best bottle of white wine I have ever had in my life. YAY! I love you, Jill and Domaine LA!

Yelp
Tucked away in a small strip mall on Melrose and Mansfield, located next to Malibu Fish Company and CCC is where I stumbled upon this cute little wine store called DomaineLA. Their motto is something on the lines of "good wine without the attitude" and that's it's exactly how they were. Some wine shops have sommeliers and wine connoisseurs that come off snooty and intimidating, so for beginners like me finding a wine I can drink without the judgement can be difficult. Especially, a wine that is less sophisticated to what they're used to dipping their noses into, so it was refreshing to meet Jill and her welcoming demeanor. She was patient and helpful, using very basic terminology to help me find a rosé for me to take home that day....which I absolutely loved. All the rosés she recommended were reasonably priced between $10-$17 so she wasn't pushing the expensive bottles as her suggestions. They even have this cute wall of good and cheap wines that I will have to try next time. I believe they even offer food and wine pairings here as well. I hate driving up to the West Side, but if I'm in the area...you can bet I'll need a bottle of wine from here.

Yelp
The parking isn't bad if you just imagine the parking lot as a bumper cart track. Park in the alley if you're really quick with your purchase. Stepping into LA Domaine (my preferred word ordering) didn't feel intimidating at all as the wine selection is laid out in front of you without some maitre'd asking if you need your balls massaged. The place has sufficient character (chalkboard, you know how this goes) but it's the wine that with character that I do come back too. Chockful of the obscure best, it gets quiet addicting once I started buying here. It's got a great collection of "New California" wines like Matthiasson, Loire reds, and a wall of Jura. Coming here is like filling out your hipster wine bingo card in one visit.

Yelp
I just finished a fantastic experience at a great local wine shop in Los Angeles. I hope this review is helpful for those looking for a convenient, friendly and selective wine shop. I came to DomaineLA looking for a few bottles of pinot noir to send as gifts to a group of people. The woman assisting me pointed out a great selection of wines that I ended up purchasing. She gave me a background story of each wine, made sure not to up-sell my price range and even invited me to a wine tasting that DomaineLA puts on each Sunday. What made this experience a "5 star" is the fact that they took care of the small details. They shipped each bottle of wine, wrote out a special note that was attached to each bottle and e-mailed me a receipt once the process was executed. I literally did nothing except hand over my credit card information. At the end of my experience I realized I needed to write a review explaining how the simplicity of customer service and attention to detail definitely goes a long way! I will definitely return (maybe next time for myself!)

Yelp
Customer Service, Customer Service, Customer Service. Oh, and some really great wine as well. I spent hours researching wine shops in Los Angeles that I could go to on the day of my 21st birthday. DomaineLA was my top pick and continues to be my top pick to this day. Jill has an exceptional memory, a serious no bullshit attitude with regards to the wine she is selling and the people who are making it, as well as a warm, caring attitude that makes you feel welcome every time you come in. Not every wine is one that will absolutely blow you away, but with regards to DomaineLA I am totally cool with that. The wines that blew me away really blew me away. They were from regions I had never even heard of. Made with techniques that until then I was simply unaware of. Also, everyone who works there can provide you with an extensive description of each wine, winery, wine making technique, terroir, etc right off the top of their head. It definitely adds to the overall experience and it really helps you learn a thing or two that you would've otherwise not known. Every bottle I get from DomaineLA is a journey, a journey that begins with a simple conversation in the shop and that persists long after that final sip of wine. On a final note, the ease with which you can come in and pick up a bottle on the go is really something marvelous. You want a bottle of wine for under 20 bucks that is delicious and tailored to whatever food you'll be eating, done. You need one that is chilled already, done. Bravo DomaineLA. Thank you for the incredible hospitality each and every time I walk in through your doors. I will forever be a loyal customer as well as an avid supporter of all that you do. Keep up the good work!

Nice shop with an eclectic collection. You are not going to find many of the big names (though I did spy the 2007 Ridge Monte Bello at a very good price), nor are there supermarket wines either. What there is is an excellent selection of reasonably priced wines from smaller producers from around the world. I was there for an Italian wine tasting, and I was impressed with the number of wines from Sicily, which is making incredibly interesting natural wine. I wish I had a friendly little shop like this near me to hang out in and to explore new stuff.

Yelp
I like wine. Very much. Okay, a little too much! I buy wine from K&L, WIne House, Wallys and Woodland Hills Wine, or when I'm guzzling greedily and laying in the grass of a winery, Ahhh. Anyway, forget the rest - Domaine LA is my favorite wine shop in LA and the best place to find interesting and delicious new wines. Jill has a very carefully curated selection and she and her staff are great at helping you find the wines that are right for your taste. I love the wide range of really fun and individual wines she has in the $20-$40 price range. You can spend more, but in this range I find that you can get wines that are really well made, often organic or biodynamic and represent their region superbly. I live on the Westside but buy by the case sometimes or a few bottles whenever I'm passing. You can even now call and make a purchase and have Postmates pick it up and deliver it for you - dangerous!

Yelp
I enjoyed my time in this shop recently as I passed through LA. The selection is excellent and balanced between domestics and imports. Pricing is very competitive and quality is offered at every tier, though first growths and other "shock and awe" wines will likely not be available. That's just fine with me. Anyone with too much money can come by those wines already... The labels on display are mostly uncommon options, because, let's face it: if you want Caymus or Silver Oak, you can go to the grocery store. This is a shop in which to explore new wines and maybe even new regions, depending on your background. The staff was very capable. Helpful, casual and in no way pushy. All levels of wine lover will feel comfortable and should certainly welcome recommendations from the folks working there. One downside for me was that currently there is no option to taste in the store, though I was informed a bar is in progress. I think that arrival will be a boon for the business, as many of their wines may not be well known and will win over customers that have a crack at tasting them. Over all, this is one of the best wine shops in LA. Not everyone has hundreds of dollars to blow on bottles at Wally's and this venue is sort of the anti-Wally's in that regard: unique, well-priced and offering wines of high quality without the ego stroking and point score flaunting. Also, the aesthetics are pretty legit. Expect modern but comfortable.

Yelp
4.5 stars This is an outstanding wine store. The selection is tremendous. A lot of thought, heart and expertise went in to selecting the wines. It's not the largest selection, but I found more bottles I wanted to buy than I have in many stores 4-5 times the size. Staff was friendly and helpful -- and had a really deep understanding of their inventory. The store definitely skews geek, but as others have noted there is no sign of any pretentiousness and everything about the store was very approachable. I was a little short on time and didn't want to take more than a couple of bottles back to the east coast, but I could have spent a lot more time and money. Others might come here and not agree, but this is one of the top ten wine stores in the country. Will return.

Yelp
Good variety of wines, local and international. All staff is very helpful with finding your needs. They usually have wine tastings on Sundays for $15 with a paring. Parings can be classic or interesting things to try (cheese, lasagna, donuts are some of those I have come across with)

Yelp
I came here to grab a couple bottles of wine to pair with the famed Wolvesmouth dinner I was attending as recommended by the staff. I realized they were about to close at 8, but I was running a few minutes behind so I called in advance and the lady gladly stayed open for me. She was very helpful and helped me pick out a medium-bodied red and a white to go with our 9 course dinner. They're a specialty store and offer a lot of natural and organic liquors and wines. They even have a full wall of wine from France! It's also very affordable!
