Where to Get the Best Mooncakes in Los Angeles and Orange County | Eater LA

"I like Dōmi's modern take from former fine-dining pastry chefs Evelyn Ling and Joe Cheng Reed: mooncakes with a milky shortbread crust in flavors such as black sesame, red bean, lotus, and jujube, plus moon cookies—shortbread crusts stamped with various designs for a mooncake-esque experience without filling; treats are available for local pickup in the Arts District, at the Temple City, Hollywood, and Mar Vista farmers markets, or for nationwide shipping." - Kristie Hang

What It’s Like to Be a Landlord in NYC’s Chinatown Right Now

"Two very accomplished, extremely young pastry chefs opened a small bakery inside the food hall in early 2020 and initially attracted press and a small following; when COVID struck they were allowed rent-free use of the space to pivot to delivery, personally baking and delivering goods with a borrowed car and receiving community support and gift-card purchases, but despite extraordinary effort they were unable to sustain the business and had to close, a heartbreaking example of pandemic timing wiping out a promising startup." - Cathy Erway

Ordering the cake boxes online, my bad that I didn’t read the description properly before and instead just looking at the picture. Having said that, my friend and I thought it’s quite sizable and probably suitable to be shared for two. Maybe because we’re considering it’s also $13 a box. When picking up and seeing it, we’re quite surprised it’s a 3inch square cake LOL. I tried the Hongkong Tearamisu, which was their invention of Yuan and Yang in a cake. If you’re familiar with the term, you knew it’s a combo of milk tea and coffee. In this version, it’s a chocolate sponge cake with milk tea mousse and coffee panna cotta. Loved the moist texture especially if you enjoyed it fresh, complemented with crunchiness from the bottom layer of white chocolate crunch. It’s also distinctive as this flavors pairing was kinda uncommon in town.

Ordered the sesame cake and it was absolutely delicious. The cream was delicate, and not too sweet, while the chocolate inside was the perfect amount of sweet and salty. I was a bit concerned about the size, but it was actually perfect for a group of 6 (especially after a big meal). Ordering was super easy on the website and picking up was also a breeze.

Our wedding guests are STILL talking about domi’s desserts 2 months later! Got a text from a friend this morning: “still thinking about those strawberry matcha cookies” It was a great spread with 3 cookie types (the infamous matcha strawberry, jasmine sugar, and earl grey white chocolate) and 3 tea cakes (matcha yuzu, black sesame, and chocolate earl grey). They were also so beautifully presented. The Asian-inspired flavors were unique and delicious, and the whole dessert bar was literally cleared out in a matter of minutes. Our only regret was not ordering more. We’ll absolutely be coming back to the domi team for future celebrations!

Domi did our wedding cakes - they were both delicious and so beautiful. We had a jasmine strawberry cake and a black sesame chocolate cake. Evelyn and team were very professional, responsive, and on time with everything.

Delicious pastries! Splurged on various baked goods for my sister’s birthday! Their croissants are a must try!

We reached out to domi earlier this year to see if they were available to make our wedding cake and were SO lucky that no one else had booked them on the day of our wedding - they currently only make cakes for one wedding a day! After our initial inquiry, we scheduled a cake tasting with Evelyn, one of the co-founders of domi. She prepared a variety of flavored ganaches paired with white vanilla and dark cocoa cakes. Their cakes are *not too sweet* (the ultimate Asian compliment for desserts) and the flavors were unique and delicious. It was by far one of my favorite parts of the entire wedding planning process. The flavors that stood out to us after the tasting were the milk and honey, hojicha, and genmaicha ganaches. When it came time to select our flavors for the cake, we asked Evelyn to see if she could incorporate a mango flavor with the milk and honey ganache that we loved from the tasting. She kindly offered to create a couple of mango ganache variations for us to try at no additional cost. We ended up selecting three flavors for our wedding day: white vanilla cake with hojicha ganache, white vanilla cake with mango ganache, and dark cocoa cake with genmaicha ganache. What we appreciated the most about the process was how flexible and creative Evelyn was in making sure we were satisfied with our flavor selections. She will truly go out of her way to create the perfect cake for you. Our cake was stunning on the day of and many of our guests noted that it was the best wedding cake they had ever had. We were so lucky to be able to collaborate with domi and highly recommend them if you are looking for a unique and, most importantly, delicious wedding cake!

Was celebrating a birthday in LA coming from Vancouver, Canada. The owner was very accommodating in the logistics of it all so that the cake would be fresh and could be picked up just in time for the birthday! The design was amazing and so was the taste! The hojicha mousse with the chocolate cake was very delicious. I'm surprised the store isn't more popular. I'd say it is currently very underrated!

Google
I am personally offended that Domi isn't getting the recognition it should, so here's my two cents: Birthday Cake this year: I received four cakes from family and friends this year, and the Judy Cake (Hojicha Mousse and Vanilla Cake BUT you can customize it to your favorite flavors) absolutely knocked it out of the park. Taste: 100/10 Loved the light and nutty hojicha mousse, the fluffiest vanilla cake and the crunchy disk on the bottom which makes it impossible for you to get sick of this cake. Presentation: 100/10 (I mean, have you seen pictures of their mousse cakes?) Like DROP dead GORGEOUS. Let me tell you folks, I have years of pastry experience and they've absolutely GOT it. Smorgasburg LA one sunday for AAPI hertiage month: Black Sesame Caramel Panna Cotta: 100/10 not too heavy, very refreshing. My friends and I all agreed that this was one very DANGEROUSLY delicious and decadent dessert, probably our favorite from all the foods we've tried that day. Keep on killin' it, Domi team!

Yelp
Stunning Asian inspired pastries! We tried the Mango Sticky Rice, Earl Grey Lychee, and Genmaicha Chocolate. The latter had the richest flavor profile, while the others tasted super light. Their desserts would be total crowd pleasers for parties or any celebration! Easy-peasy service. I placed my order online, scheduled a pick-up, and parked along the street, where a smiley lady delivered the goodies to my car. There's minimal face-to-face interaction, which is perfect for introverted me. I could see myself being a regular here! Hope to see pop-ups in OC soon :)

Yelp
Thank you Domi for making my birthday special this year! I usually don't have birthday cake but this year my girl got me this beautiful and delicious mouse cake! I love everything of this cake! The decoration, the taste and even the little note on it! Starry Night Mousse Cake Mousse flavor: Jasmine Cake flavor: Vanilla

Yelp
4/7/2024 Cake Slabs Hong Kong Milk Tea-ramisu - Good milky black tea flavor. The chocolate sponge cake was moist and had a good flavor, however I think a different cake would have paired better with the ceylon ganache to let it shine. It almost felt like the chocolate cake was competing with the ceylon ganache for attention. Very light coffee flavor for the coffee buttercream, where it tastes more like caramel or some other milk tea buttercream. This cake was the sweetest of all the cakes I've tried. Also, tried the leftover cake today and strangely liked it less than yesterday when I first tried the cake at room temperature. This was my least favorite cake out of all of the cakes I've tried. Hojicha - Really good hojicha cream flavor. Vanilla buttercream was really good. Good vanilla cake, but texture was a tad dry, but overall a good cake! Chocolate Salted Caramel Black Sesame - Good dark chocolate flavor. However, the salted caramel flavor was missing for me. Chocolate cake was soft and moist. I have have tried this cake before and it's really good when the salted caramel brings the chocolate cake and black sesame together in a delightful flavor twist. They all kind of sing together. Earl Grey Lavender - Lavender ganache was very good. It was very smooth and velvety. Yes, it is a good, strong lavender flavor for those who want to try this cake. Vanilla buttercream was very good too. With the Earl Grey sponge cake's texture was slightly coarse because of the ground Earl Grey tea leaves mixed in the cake. But this played very well with the lavender ganache and the vanilla buttercream almost tasted different because of the strong lavender and Earl Grey flavors. As an Earl Grey fan, I approve! Absolutely loved this cake! This cake tasted better the day after too. This one was my favorite of all the cake slabs I've tried. Checked the website, but it seems this cake wasn't offered as a whole cake except for the cake slabs. Would love it if they kept this cake on the menu as an option for those who want to order a whole cake. I think the cake slabs were a great idea to introduce Domi's cake flavors for those who haven't tried them and don't want to get the full cake nor pay the full price. Hope they will continue to offer cake slabs. Enjoyed all the cakes! Location - Two locations for pick-up. The Temple City location was very straight forward when I picked up last time. But the Arts District / Santa Fe location is difficult to find! The building numbers are not visible either. Maybe it's the GPS, but I always got lost here and never found the exact location for pickup. There's too many turns to find this place, where it is located at an industrial building. Later, I was told that it is on Santa Fe Avenue. So best to park on that street once you arrive. Text them as soon as you arrive and they will bring out your order to your car, which is always nice. Customer Service - Minimal interaction, since this is mainly ordered via website. You do have a timeframe to pick up your order and if you run an hour late with no contact, they can cancel your order without a refund. So please be mindful and contact them ASAP via text to let them know. I was running late myself and I've texted them my situation and it turned out fine. When I came to pick up, they were having a hard time finding my car, as I was parked in a different street when all I did was follow the GPS. Ha. But everything turned out fine and good. Glad they do bring out your order to your car. Pop-Ups & Farmer's Market Residencies - They do not have a brick + mortar bakery shop, but they do have pop-ups and have weekly Farmer's Market appearances if you check out their website. At the very top in white letters, you'll see "Check Out Our Upcoming Events Here." Also, if you look at their homepage, you'll see a small white dots above the logos, The Strategist, Eater, Food Network etc. Click on the white dots to scroll and you'll see the links for "Pop-ups + Partnerships" and "Farmer's Market Residencies."

Yelp
The mini cake was not only freshly baked but tasted delicious! My fiancé liked how small the cake was as we both aren't huge dessert connoisseurs and we liked how the cake wasn't too sweet. The instructions for pick up and how to eat the cake at the right temperature was a thoughtful touch to make it easy for the customer. My fiance liked the personalised message of "Happy Baobao Day" which means precious in Chinese. I will order again!

Yelp
I will always get Domi desserts if I am cooking a dinner party at home. These desserts are so well made and beautiful and it's a show stopper when you bring them out at the end for dessert. Domi is short for Doremi. They are two Asian pastry chefs with a Michelin fine dining background who decided to leave their fine dining restaurant in NYC to create profiteroles, cakes, and other pastries with an Asian spin on the flavors. I first tried them through their profiteroles and they are heavenly! If I could afford to, I'd eat one box a week. Their flavors are all so unique such as yuzu, black sesame, earl grey, and their pastry cream is so dreamy and delicious. I got their holiday pastries for Christmas Eve dinner and the little profiteroles shaped like reindeer and Christmas tree shaped mousses were a perfect finish to our holiday meal. Everyone was smiling at the cute shapes and then oohing over the flavors. They work from a ghost kitchen so you will have to place your order online for pick up and drive to Art District. Once it's your time, you will text them the make and model of your car and they will bring the bag out to you. My friend's French boyfriend even said that these profiteroles were better than the ones he had in Paris. Make sure you pick some Domi up for a housewarming gift or a dessert to your amazing, home cooked meal!

Yelp
Had my wedding and our wedding cake was a hit! We ordered a 4 tier cake in two flavors: vanilla cake with black sesame buttercream and chocolate cake with genmaicha buttercream. It was SOOO good! We got to take home the upper tier and I had a lovely time eating a little bit of cake every day for a week haha Evelyn's cake came out beautifully! She executed our vision perfectly. We asked for very specific colors and she nailed it! Highly recommend Domi for wedding cake and I highly recommend ordering a sampler because all the flavor combinations were so delicious. Thank you so much Evelyn!

Yelp
Beautiful cake with such unique Asian flavors. Makes for a perfect birthday cake as a special treat. The look is so photogenic and is sure to please a crowd. Pick up is easy and a smooth process. Will order again!

Yelp
This is my family's pastry shop. We always order all our cakes and pastry here. We started ordering their profiteroles and fell in love with them. Since then, we have been order both their sweet and savory pastries. I really love the short rib pastries and ham and cheese croissants as well. Their aesthetics are really on point as well. Everything is as beautiful as it tastes.

Yelp
I found them on instagram and their cakes look cute so I wanted to give it a try. Bought 3 pieces different kinds of desserts which came about $25 Cut to the short, they all taste terribly bad... Me and my friends had to trow this away. I liked how it looked though.. good for pictures only.

Yelp
This was the best cake i have ever had in my entire life. Bite after bite, the last was as perfect as the first. Every single layer was made to perfection, from the airy mousse to the light sponge to the salty creamy caramel to a crispy layer on the bottom, just wow. It was heaven. I ordered it on their website and picked up in arts district. You can easily pick up right in front of their shop.

Yelp
I ordered three bento cakes for a joint birthday and let me tell you that Earl grey cake was delicious. I ordered strawberry, mango, and Earl grey. I thought the strawberry and mango were pretty good, they kinda reminded me of the Asian cakes you would get in your childhood. But my favorite of all was the Earl grey. It was not too sweet, the cake was soft, and the hints of lavender was so fragrant. I bought it for my boyfriend and his friends but honestly kinda wished I bought one for myself. The service was quick and easy. The owners of domi were quick to respond and the online ordering made things super easy. I would totally buy another cake in the future.

Yelp
What I ordered: The weekend of November 4th. We ordered the black sesame buttercream cake for my birthday. The cake was light and airy, not too sweet and love the 4 inches size. Some of us just need a small portion to satisfy our sweet craving! : ) Location: Domi is located in the Arts District area. It doesn't have a store front and we want to support small businesses. So it is curbside pickup only as they work in a ghost kitchen. Service: Domi's website is very efficient, you pick the time and date for cake pickup. It's quick and easy! We waited in the car for like less than 5 minutes and a staff brought the cake to us. Presentation: The presentation was amazing with their cake design, package and bag are all high quality. The cake design was simply beautiful but I decided to add a special touch to it. Do you like the cake toppers? Feel free to check out my Etsy and IG page: @misshelendesign for more info.

Yelp
We went to their pop-up at Steep LA's Holiday Market and got their assortment of tea cakes for $20. The staff member was friendly and let me browse their table comfortably. All of the cakes were SO delicious and had great texture! You could really taste all the flavors and most importantly, they weren't too sweet! All the glazes were so delightful and they look adorable as well. I would eat the matcha yuzu cake everyday if I could and would gift these to friends and family because they need to enjoy them too! Flavors: - black sesame - hojicha strawberry - matcha yuzu - earl grey chocolate

Yelp
Let me preface this review by saying: SUPPORT SMALL BUSINESSES!! I found Domi while looking around on Yelp for local bakeries that do cakes with new flavors other than the basic types of cakes we always get. I happened to come across Domi and they absolutely checked all the boxes. The presentation of all of their pastries and cakes is top notch. This is super important to me since I always eat with my eyes first! I learned more on their website about Evelyn and Joe's backgrounds working in a Michelin starred restaurant to now creating their own story and felt compelled to try their Asian inspired pastries. They currently don't have a storefront, so you will need to order through their website and schedule a date to pick up your cake or pastries. They do curbside pickups in the LA Arts District (or at the Elite Ballet Theatre in Temple City on Saturday Evenings). You stay in your car, text them, and they come out to greet you. My experience picking up went seamlessly! Finally, the cake I got for my Dad's birthday was the Chocolate Salted Caramel Black Sesame Cake. It was AMAZING! The dark cocoa cake was moist and fluffy. The black sesame flavors in the frosting and the ganache were subtle, but really complemented the chocolate. There was a small layer of salted caramel in the middle of the cake that is very rich and gives it depth. This was the best cake I've had in a long while! We got the short and it definitely was more than enough for 4 people. I cannot wait to try more of their pastries and cakes! I am looking forward to them eventually opening a storefront (PLEASE DO!!)

Yelp
I only found out about Domi this week when I was browsing Yelp as I looked for a dessert place near Boyle Heights. I found Domi and thought the desserts looked delicious, and was interested in the founders' fine dining background in NYC and how that would translate to their desserts. Domi has two locations, one in Arts District and one in Temple City. They are open from Thursday - Sunday only, and operate on an online pre-order system, there is no physical storefront where customers can spontaneously enter and choose what to buy. The online pre-ordering system is probably not convenient for some people, but they do have an in-person presence at the Hollywood Farmers Market. There is no ambiance to speak of, as Domi staff walk out of the facility to give you your order. I ordered three things on this occasion; the genmaicha matcha pudding, red bean moon cake, and matcha cookie. All three were excellent, but the genmaicha matcha pudding was the real stand-out. My husband, who always says he doesn't like Asian desserts, ate half of this and said how delicious it was. I liked that none of the desserts were overly sweet. Would highly recommend trying Domi and will be a repeat customer.

Yelp
Domi made our wedding cakes and it was so pretty and amazing and delicious. We had a jasmine strawberry cake and a black sesame chocolate cake. Both were a hit during our reception and the next few days as leftovers. Evelyn and team were very responsive and professional throughout the process. We had two wedding toppers that we shipped to them and they also delivered to our venue. Everything went super smoothly.

Yelp
OBSESSED is an understatement. I've seen Domi on Instagram and have tried to order previously, but they were always sold out. I luckily was able to snag one last weekend for my mother's birthday. I ordered a pink jasmine mousse glaze cake and she was STUNNING & carefully crafted with pink watercolor detail and gold flakes. At first, I thought it looked small in person, but we were able to feed 8 with a slice to take home. It came out to $109 after tax and it was worth every penny. My parents are hard to please and always think cake is too sweet, but they adored this. The jasmine cream had such a strong tea aroma and was not overpowering, while the jam was tart, you get a nice fluffy texture from the cake, and a crunchy cracker base to complete that perfect bite. PICK UP: There currently isn't a storefront that I know of, just pick up orders from downtown and temple city ghost kitchens. But, they do pop up events at festivals and food events like SmorgasburgLA! PICK UP DOWNTOWN: On Sante Fe, super easy, free marked street parking, just call the store when you arrive during your pick up window and they bring it out to you shortly, quick and friendly! But make sure if you're running late, to let the store know so they can accommodate you, or you might get charged a late fee. I'm already planning on picking up another cake next month for another birthday and I definitely need to try the profiteroles(cream puffs) as well. (Maybe a personal mini cake for myself because I love them so much)

Yelp
During a leisurely walk, I serendipitously discovered this hidden gem of a bakery. Intrigued by its discreet presence, without a traditional storefront, I was compelled to explore their website. The aesthetic presentation and the unique Japanese-style cakes immediately caught my eye, prompting me to purchase a cake for my best friend's birthday. The cake we chose, named the "Starry Night" mousse cake, was an exquisite culinary masterpiece. Every bite was a delightful experience, perfectly blending the crispy texture of the cookie crust with the smoothness of the jasmine mousse and the softness of the vanilla cake. The balance of flavors was impeccable, with just the right level of sweetness and a wonderfully airy texture. This cake wasn't just a dessert; it was a memorable part of our celebration. The convenience of their service was the cherry on top - they had someone deliver the cake right to my car, which was incredibly helpful. I'm already looking forward to choosing another one of their creations for my own birthday. Their cakes are not just baked goods; they're a blend of art and flavor that's truly hard to find.
google avatar

Caroline T.

Yelp
5 star for the baked goods, but 3 star for the pickup experience. I didn't want to order delivery because I didn't want all the packaging it takes to deliver the BEAUTIFUL cake they make. But the pick up process is a pain in the #@$%.

Another year older, another Domi cake! This year, I got a chocolate mousse chocolate cake with pink marbleing. The cake was light, airy, delicious, and not too sweet. #birthday #cake #chocolate #yummy

Yelp
Most definitely a 5/5 cake for special occasions. Their regular sized cakes range from $60-90 and offer various asian flavors. Ive so far tried jasmin, hojicha & their specialty strawberry jasmine mousse. Each flavor has been EXCEPTIONAL, and a piece of art to look at. They feed 6-8 people. So far it seems to be operating as a ghost kitchen with pick ups available in arts district. You wont regret getting a Domi cake
google avatar

Yelp
Very pretty for aesthetics, but smaller than expected. Got the matcha mini cake and it came out flawless. However, it was literally like 5 bites, super tiny cake. Very over priced for the amount you get. The taste of matcha was subtle, and there was more mousse than the actual cake. Not sure if I'd come back, but was worth the try just once. Also, gotta order online to pickup.

Yelp
Domi is my go to cake bakery for special occasions. The price is worth it. Every one of my purchase has been amazing. Truly great flavor. Please keep up the amazing work

Yelp
Such pretty Profitleroes (cream puffs)! Glad I don't need to go all the way to NY to try these now!! They have a location in SoCal now! I ordered the Hojicha, Strawberry Jasmine, Coffee Hazelnut, Black Sesame (my review is long overdue so some of these flavors may no longer be in rotation:( The insides have the perfect amount of cream filling and the outer layer was perfectly flakey. Best to eat when fresh! All these flavors were so good! The coffee hazelnut was my fave! They only offer curbside pickup and you will need to order online and schedule a time for pickup! They also have very pretty cakes and other desserts you can order as well

Yelp
I was lucky enough to be in LA when there was a Domi Pop Up shop in Silverlake! The staff was really kind. The shop was very spacious and minimal. Of course, the baked goods looked so yummy! For this pop up, they had a few things to offer. The iconic "Everything" Milk Bun, cookies, cakes, and granola mixes! My friends and I came for a small lunch, so we all shared 2 "Everything" Milk Buns and some Earl Grey Cookies. I love that they give reheating instructions in case we didn't plan on eating the buns right away. The "Everything" Milk Bun was to die for! It was garlicky, dense, but had a sweet cream cheese filling at the center. So good. My friend and I were able to share one... but I could have definitely had one for myself. The Earl Grey Cookies were surprisingly SO ADDICTING! A slight saltiness... paired with the earl grey and sweet white chocolate? It was heavenly. Overall, SO YUMMY! I will definitely be back to try their choux puffs and custom cakes.

Yelp
Stunningly beautiful cakes and desserts! I've always wanted to order a cake but never had an occasion until my mom's birthday. Pick up is quick and easy - you text their number with your car make and model and they bring out your order! I ordered ahead and chose my pick up window. Can't wait to dig into this beauty tonight! Thanks Domi!

Yelp
Food so pretty you don't even want to eat it! Tried these profiteroles from them and they are the perfect little desserts!

Yelp
I've been following them on Instagram for a while and decided to treat myself for my intimate birthday get-together. I had the hardest time deciding which cake to get to I opted for two. I knew I wanted the chocolate salted caramel black sesame and I had to get a marble cake as well, ended up with the jasmine mousse strawberry cake. I did a pick up at the Arts District on Saturday and it was super easy and simple. I texted them when I was close by and they walked up to the car and handed it to me! I asked for them to write something special, a quote that meant a lot to me on the base of the mousse cake as well as a different design for the black sesame cake. Surprisingly, as a black sesame lover, I actually enjoyed the jasmine mousse more!! I can't wait to order again to try the earl grey birthday cake and the profiteroles!

Yelp
This place made such a beautiful cake and it was very very delicious! Oh my god! Where should I begin... I was going on vacation and knew I would be in LA for my wife's birthday so I wanted to find a nice cake for her. Found this gem of a bakery and ordered a mini starry night mousse cake (chocolate cake flavor, hojicha mousse flavor, purple color) for pickup on a Sunday afternoon from their Santa Fe Ave location. The curbside pickup was easy with space in front of their location. I felt bad since I parked half a block away since I didn't know if there was space in the front. I also requested a candle since it was a birthday cake and they provided a complimentary one! Thank you! Now back to the super delicious cake. This was one of the most beautiful cakes I have ever purchased. I was not disappointed with this art piece. It was so aesthetically pleasing that I felt bad eating it. It was not too sweet and the cake itself was very moist. I'm not a fan of chocolate flavored cakes, but it was so good that I might start liking chocolate cakes. Price is a little steep, but you won't be disappointed. The quality was definitely there for looks and taste! It was totally worth it. There's also another cake called the Judy mousse cake that also looked amazing, but I could only choose one, so I ended up getting the starry night one. I'll be getting the Judy one next time though! Great job by the small business. Appreciate the hard work. I was very impressed and my wife was very happy. Splendid experience!

Yelp
Oh didn't realize they finally have a listing! We went to their first pop up in SGV in June 2019 as one their supporters. Now fast forward 2 years and they popped up at Broom Street General Store for a pop-up and we picked up a black sesame cake. The cake was a bit dry, but the buttercream was good. Look forward to other desserts they'll have in the future!

Yelp
Wow. The cake a bought was eaten up by a bunch of hungry birthday party piranhas! I bought the lunar new year cake for my wife's birthday and it was awesome. At first I had ordered a different flavor but decided to change my mind after checkout. I emailed the owner and they made the change seamless and easy. Pick up was a breeze too. Parking lot to your cars trunk kinda service. That's what's up. You can have your cake and eat it too. Try it out.

Yelp
Seriously obsessed with this place and their stunning dessert!! Their things are a bit pricey but if you want a splurge dessert or gift, it's perfect! The profiteroles are a must-order - they come in black sesame, hojicha, milk and honey, and jasmine tea. Their cakes are also perfect small birthday cakes, and are the classic "not too sweet" Asian cake. Got the the matcha one for my parents and they loved it!

Yelp
I ordered the 8 profiteroles. They were gorgeous but too sweet and heavy for my liking. They should be enjoyed the day of without putting it in the fridge, so make sure you have people who can help you scarf them down asap! Overall worth a try but I won't be back.

Yelp
I categorize my life into two time periods: Pre-Domi and Post-Domi. Pre-Domi QC was sad, listless, devoid of excitement. Then... the miraculous day came when I got to eat a custom Domi cake for the first time and my life changed for the better. Colors became brighter, the air turned crisper, my skin cleared up, my gas tank refilled itself. Life became better and worth living after I experienced the magic of Domi's baked goods. Looking for a purpose in life? Look no further. Your life purpose is to eat Domi's food. You're welcome.

Yelp
Not sure about all the 5 star reviews. We got a 6" yuzu cake for a birthday. $80 before tax. Cake was barely decorated. We were like it'd better be a damn good cake coz you are pricing the cake way up there. At this price point, it makes Lady M seem very cheap. So we were excited to taste it, only to be extremely disappointed. The sponge cake itself was dry. The frosting was hard. While i appreciate that the bakery is trying to celebrate Asian flavours, the fundamentals of a cake should at least be there... The cake at that level was not worth $80 (before tax). Unfortunately the birthday girl was not impressed. I don't know - maybe we got unlucky on an off-day??? But I also dunno if we'd try other stuff from this place again.

Yelp
Domi has the most beautiful and delicious cakes I've ever had in my life. We ordered the 4" Earl Grey Lavender Mini Buttercream Cake for my mom's birthday and it came out incredible. Sadly, I dropped the cake a couple hours after picking it up but thankfully I was able to reach out to the owner/support team and got another cake rushed (bless your soul Evelyn Ling). The cake tasted so rich and divine, will definitely be back to try everything on the menu.

Yelp
The most delicious hand made profiteroles and cakes in LA . Order pickup or delivery on their website!

Yelp
My SIL bought me a cake and profiteroles from Domi for my birthday and they were phenomenal. The packaging is chic and modern, the cake was perfectly decorated with distinct Asian-inspired flavors. The profiteroles were a delicious balance of sweet and subtle flavors. I will definitely order desserts from here moving forward. Pro-tip: they are in the Vermont building so reach out to them if you have trouble finding their location. They're very responsive and kind.

Yelp
I picked up the cake and profiteroles last Sunday for my birthday. They were so yummy, creamy, light and perfect texture! I wish they could ship outside LA, then more people can enjoy it! I will certainly order it again.

Yelp
My first time ordering from Domi this week and I'm very impressed! I've been following them on Instagram for a while and have been wanting to try them out every time they post a yummy looking photo or video. I placed an order on Tuesday for pick up on Thursday. I got a 4" mini cake for a friend's birthday. While it was more expensive than getting a typical cake at the grocery store, it's so worth it! The detail they can add to such a small cake is very nice. I picked it up curbside with no issues. They even included a candle with the order which was a very nice touch and convenient because I didn't have candles at home! Thanks Domi!! Will be back soon for some more :)

Yelp
Domi has become one of my favorite dessert spots, and I'm so glad that they're now in LA! My favorites are the London Fog Cake Cup and the Hojicha Mille Feuille

Yelp
This place was a nice surprise. A really interesting twist on familiar flavors. Will definitely be ordering again!
