I've been a loyal Domino's customer since about 1979, when their pizzas essentially helped keep me alive during my latter undergrad college years. Their taste, quality, and quality control has been good and consistent for all of those nearly 40 years, regardless of where you ordered from. My experience last night was the only exception to the rule.
Ordered a simple pizza from this location late on a Sunday evening, a large cheese pizza with pepperoni and sausage, plus an order of cinnamon twists. It shouldn't have been complicated, or much of a challenge. Strangely, the order arrived long after the website tracker indicated it had been delivered. Why so many restaurants in Chicago claim to have delivered when they have not, I do not know.
The pizza arrived cold and hardened (and by that I mean no hint of warmth of any kind, anywhere). I'm not exaggerating how cold it was. It was also burnt black in several places, and had no meat on it at all--just a plain cheese pizza with no other ingredients. The cinnamon twists were soaked, sitting in a pile of their own sticky syrup and loosely sliding around a small box, while a few pieces were actually stuck to it and took some effort to pry loose.
This Domino's is just a few blocks away, and I can actually see the restaurant storefront from my apartment window, so there's no way that anything should have cooled, as there is nil traffic--especially after 10:00 p.m. on a Sunday night--and I live off of the same road.
Phoned the restaurant, and the guy on duty made zero attempts to correct the situation or the customer offer any relief. "You ordered online, and that's what your order read on our end," was all he'd say. No offer of anything whatsoever to keep my business.
This experience is completely contrary to the established, longstanding Domino's brand promise, and I'm being nice. Spare yourself and avoid this location.
