Authentic Mexico food in the city! We’ve been searching for this for 3 years. Vegetarian beans and rice too 🤗. Nothing fancy and a bit unassuming from the outside but great flavor and service. Portions are huge... my husband got a carne Asada burrito and it was even bigger than my ginormous veggie burrito ( pictured) . We both took 1/2 home and snagged a tree leches slice or when our stomachs open up again!!

Came here today and it was alright. For living very close I liked this place since it was 5 minutes walking distance. I ordered a vegetarian burrito w/o cheese or sour cream and my sister said she enjoyed her carne asada burrito. Service here was not too great there were I think only 2 waitress but even then we were only checked up on a TOTAL of TWO times. Once when we ordered our food and once we got it other than that she NEVER checked to see if we wanted more water or chips. It did fill me up but I probably would have gone somewhere else to eat. She didn't bring us the check either we sat there until we finally decided to pay by the bar. They also defiently need to UPDATE their prices are here (Google Maps) since the menu at the resturant is WAY different.

Great Mexican food and great service. The prices are not bad. They have drink specials also. We wish we would have found this spot sooner.

Come for the Pulque (fermented Agave drink) stay for the amazing food. Menu items go far beyond tacos and venture into regional items that are hard to find elsewhere. Staff is friendly and attentive, which keeps me coming back.

I thought this place was typical for Chicago authentic Mexican as I lived down the block for the first 3 months I was in the city. After 4 years I've tried many more places in Logan Square and throughout town and this is still my favorite! Fresh ingredients with really flavorful meats, great cooks, great staff, and the rice and beans are super good. Solid drink selection as well!

A great local option for Mexican food. The food has always come out tasting great, and the staff are always very friendly. The margarita pitchers are a good way to kick off or end your night out as well. I do have one minor complaint that keep Don Chema locked in at four stars: They’ve recently began to charge for chips and salsa, so there’s no ceremonial chip eating while you peruse the menu.

Doesn't have a great smell as soon as walk in. The meat they used in my chicken looked and tasted of pretty low quality. The beans were cold with unmelted cold cheese on top and the rice was overcooked and partially crunchy. disappointed for $13...

The tacos here are definitely 🔥 The consistency of crunch to moisture was almost perfect. Small shop and easy to miss, but that made me that much more glad I didn't. It's like they're trying to hide the Krabby Patty Formula.
