#99 in my Parisian Michelin Stars Marathon (follow me for the other reviews).
An Iconic dinner
This one of the new one star we got in March 22. The review is going to have similarities with the one from the Jules Verne. Indeed, not only it’s the same chef, but one should take in account the same considerations. The consideration being that you have both an insane view, and a Michelin star. There’s a full gastronomic kitchen in the boat that is no small feat as being on a river brings some constraints. Also please divide the price by 3 when you compare to any upscale cosmopolitan Parisian brasserie as you ll be entertained for 3h30 (versus one hour and some change). And yes, also include the price of a luxurious and very spacious boat tour for the same amount of time. What I’m trying to say is that the price/quality/time ratio is actually pretty very good.
You’re going to spend a great evening and you’ll have plenty of time to enjoy it. Is it for tourist? Well, I would have love to be a tourist, because I think it must be even better. Obviously (if you follow me or if you can hear my accent) I’m French, and based in Paris. This should not be for me… Well, I don’t think so. I think it’s a great hack to receive some friends from abroad for a dinner, and treat yourself with a boat tour on the river that you have never done “because you live in Paris”. So, no it’s not a tourist trap, there are some in Paris, but this one is clearly not. It’s also a great introduction in the Michelin Star world and from there you could guide them towards some other Michelin. For instance, the Pre Catelan where the chef, Frederic Anton, is based. Of course, if you don’t want to jump straight to a 3 stars (although the lunch menu is actually cheaper ), there’s plenty of sub 50€ Michelin Stars. Here the point being, you come here for the view, you may leave wanting to explore more Michelin.
The bonus for us was that Frederic Anton was actually there and we got the chance to speak with him. So iconic all along.
But I guess my best and final point will be this: Have a look at the pictures and the videos.
It’s a well deserved one star with a great night on the Seine. Enjoy.
