Don Ladis Taco Shop

My go to spot in the Downtown Gresham area! I've been eating here for years and I've always received a good, consistent standard of food quality and service! Mia, Lily and the rest of the FoH staff are always kind and smiling! The daily specials in price and portion size are excellent and the recent remodel presents a bright and warm atmosphere and aesthetic! Also, those bathrooms are immaculate!

We were getting new tires put on at discount tires, they let us bring in our puppy and we sat and ate I ordered the carne asada burrito and it was so good! First bite and I was delighted! I put the avocado spicey sauce on it and that stuff is to die for! My kiddo loved her bean and cheese burrito and my bf got the calo burrito which he said was pretty good but missing something. 10/10 reccomend

The food was pretty good overall. The carnitas was cooked just right. The refried beans and rice were good as well. The sauce containers were a little small which was my only nitpick. I’ll come back to try some of their other menu items too.

Best damn Machaca breakfast burrito in town. The shredded beef is nicely seasoned and fried with onions and peppers and includes cheese for great flavor. No rice and beans filler! Way better than other burritos around which tend to be bland and doesn't have a lot of meat.

This place is amazing I never knew this was here and I was come over here so delicious everybody is super sweet and the place feels like home food is so GOOD BEST IVE HAD since I moved out here the burrito was huge!

I can only recommend that you come here in person. They charge you for sauces if you order through delivery, but if you come in person the sauce bar is free. Makes no sense (good profit for them). Also it's fast food dining, not authentic, and catered to American palettes. Their nachos and carne asada fries still continue to be overpriced (just because a competitor offers it for $16-17 doesn't mean you should raise yours to the same price). They use preprocessed ingredients so nothing is actually fresh. $5 tacos (any meat) is a rip-off. Tacos should be your lowest profit margin item. Salsas come from bottles, nothing is made from scratch. It's a solid step above Taco Bell though.

Ever since moving into town I've been looking for a solid Mexican restaurant and this place has it all! Everything is always cooked perfection and my order is never wrong!

They never miss. Delicious every time and the staff is friendly. The salsa and veggie bar is a welcome bonus to their already fantastic food.

I feel like eight years ago when I gave this a four star review I just didn't have the appreciation for the consistency and overall quality of this place. This is our go to Spotify eat at any other place nearby. I feel like I'm cheating. Chuy and the family are the best. It is literally the place. My kids will choose to eat over something like junk food or fast food when I ask him what they wanna get when it's quick and easy. Does daily specials, even though they raised the price up a dollar every couple years it is still one of the best deals in town. Their Pastor is hands-down one of the best in town. Their dollar menu is nuts, mini bean and cheese burritos mini quesadillas old-school potato fried tacos... Like I live off of these dollar item menu and I have for years when I wanna treat myself to something but don't wanna overheat or maybe don't wanna spend 40 bucks going out with the family for something mediocre just an absolute gem and I cannot sing with the praises loud enough so seeing that I gave only a four star review I decided to touch back and give it what it deserved a perfect score.

This place is open until midnight and you usually can't get this quality of food that late at night. When I discovered this place, I came back the same week to get another plate. The workers there are very chill and nice. My favorite thing about Don Ladis is the salsa bar they have in the center of the shop. Every salsa is delicious and I havent been able to figure out which one I like the most. The restaurant itself looks like a hole in the wall, but the restaurant is very clean and organized. Overall, the food is delicious. I've never been a big fan of beans, but the beans that come with the plate are amazing. I'm tempted to go back and order 20 bean and cheese burritos. This place is going to be dangerous for my wallet

Delicious food each time I've gone in with friendly staff, plus their small value menu is great if you're looking to save $$. Salsa bar is also good

The carne was good, but the burrito was bare! no rice, no beans, just meat! personally I do not like pico or guac, but no rice and beans is a crime!

Delicious. I was skeptical when I walked in....the place seems a little generic and the vibe is lacking a soul. Dont get me wrong, the staff is super friendly and kind...it just doesn't seem like this place would be good as one of those secret food taco trucks that you see throughout the city. Boy oh boy....was i wrong. The tacos were fantastic. Can't wait to come back.

This is one of our favorite restaurants! Tonight I had the Thursday special. It was so yummy and such a good deal for the price. Come in and see yourself. The staff works so fast and efficiently. They are super friendly and professional too.

This is the place we always come back to. It was our first taco shop in Gresham, and as others have opened and closed, the one we still go back to. It's incredibly hard to beat the breakfast burritos @$7. They're super flavorful and packed full. You can easily spend more for less in the area. Taco salad is excellent. Bean and cheese burrito, while not my favorite in town, is still really good and gigantic. I'm also a huge fan of their habanero garlic salsa. If I could order a 32oz cup of it, I would. To top it all off, the folks working are always very kind and helpful.

I've only ordered delivery, but Don Ladis never disappoints. Great food, amazing salsa, the best P in A (pineapple agua fresca). I always order extra bunuelitos to go with my coffee in the morning. Who knew, even the flan is fabulous! You will not be disappointed

I love this place! It's hard to find good Mexican/Tex-Mex food here, but Don Landis hits the mark. The food is delicious and the menu is huge. I especially love their breakfast tacos and burritos! Add to that the friendliness of the staff and the reasonable price tag, and you've got one of the best Mexican joints in Portland. The only "meh" mark I'd give Don Ladis is for ambience. The dining room is fine, but it's not somewhere you want to spend a lot of time catching up with friends or celebrating a birthday, say. It's clean and comfortable enough to enjoy your meal.

One of my favorite mom and pop shops! The hospitality is AMAZING! The cashier is practically like family with everyone! It's open late and very affordable! Tons of limes and salsas available too

Great little place to eat. Walking in I wasn't super impressed but the food was excellent and the service was quick.

Other than excellent service , they have really accessible prices , and do not get me started on the deliciousness of the food ! Everything was soo good , the place is really organized and very clean ! I really recommend this place , as a trucker , this places is my favorite spot around the united states :)

I'm here now for the second day in a row after my first visit yesterday. I am from San Diego, CA and the fish tacos here are the closest to Baja style. The best I've found in Oregon so far. This place is great and has very reasonable prices. If you're looking for Rubio's style fish tacos. This is the place. Also, you can mix a half pint of rice and beans side by side it's the perfect amount. I highly recommend this place. Excellent service as well.

I come here often, and I've never had a bad experience. one of the most consistently good places when it comes down to food and service. I moved from Cali so it's hard to find spots that actually make the food taste good, and this place is a 10/10 love it. Not to mention it's always clean and free refills on drinks.

Horrible customer service, the lady serving me had an AirPod in and couldn't hear anything I was saying. The food took 30 min and they gave me dirty looks every time I looked up to check if the food was ready.

Tortas for the win! Not too many places offered tortas, so I was happy to see it on the menu.The side of rice and beans were really delicious. I love that they had pickled carrots. Another thing you don't always find. They were super friendly in there. Highly recommend.

We love this place. They are fast, friendly, and the food is good. The prices are very reasonable ;especially, the daily specials. There's always plenty of parking too. The nicest thing is that they are open late. Don't get confused when you look at the menu, as it is extensive...

When I called, she sat down the phone and didn't pick it up for 15 minutes. I ordered a number 15 with a chili Riano. I asked for no rice and just beans and when I got home, there was no chili Reno and the meal is mostly beans. Better to go sit down for your meal.

Haven't been here in awhile. Decided to try a Sunday craving for Meneudo. Let me say it was amazing! The tripe was so clean and tender, the broth was so flavorful and the fresh herbs and onions and plenty of fresh lime wedges made it a complete wonderful Sunday meal. It came with tortillas and fresh corn chips. The service was wonderful and the lady helped bring my food to my table which I appreciated.

Today is my first time coming here and I am impressed. There were so many options and the prices were very affordable. The staff were courteous and quick to help. I ordered 3 chicken tacos and they came with pico and guac. They were so yummy!

It was my partner's birthday and he didn't know I had invited a few people to stop by since it was a work night. I happened upon this place for delivery and was super excited when I saw that they have catering plates just on the menu. I was sold! 40 tacos plus beans and rice sounded perfect to me. Although I purchased chips and guac etc at the store they do offer these as well. I could choose 2 meats, which is better than one. This isn't actual catering, so I understood when there wasn't exactly even numbers of each that it was because they clearly had more meat than the other, but it was close enough to an even split. They're just your standard street tacos, which was exactly what I wanted, and they were delicious. They even had roasted hot peppers which some people enjoyed (very hot). The beans and rice actually could have been half the size. No one could believe how much there was, but we enjoyed them with chips as well. Unfortunately we could all only eat so much (or take it home) so some did go to waste. If you can mass produce and make this many people happy then I'm excited to try just a regular order for the two of us. So happy how this turned out.

Fast friendly service! I like the weekly specials and you get a lot of food for the money. The only drawback is the salsa bar which can get messy and sanitation is a concern. Still, highly recommended.

As close to San Diego Mexican food as we've gotten since moving here. I was trolling a foodie account on IG that posted Mexican food in Portland, and ended up getting DMed by Pip's Donuts some recommendations on spots to check out. Long story short, Pip's led me to the promised land. What reminds me of home: 1. Salsa Bar - variety of green and red salsas of varying heat, free pickled carrots. All the salsas are a bit thin, but they're all packed with flavor. 2. California Burritos - plenty of meat inside, no BS beans or rice, the tortilla is tender and doesn't taste like the shenanigans you get at a grocery store. 3. Carne Asada Fries - a rarity in the PNW (at least that are satisfying) with plenty of guacamole, sour cream and all the fixings I'm used to. 4. Cheap! We got a boatload of food for $20. We ate a late lunch and I didn't eat again until the next day at lunch. Although Gresham is a bit out of the way, and there's not much else that I'd go out there for, its definitely worth the trek. Bravo for making me feel at home.

Pretty standard americanized Taco shop plus a few staple not so common menu items for variety. They have all the standard faire done well and reasonably priced. They also have a wide variety of salsas at the bar so bang for the buck is pretty much amazing.

You can count on great tasting daily specials that keep down the cost of eating a quality meal.

I don't love the atmosphere for dinner ( it's bright & busy so we usually get take out) but it's great for lunch or breakfast. I do love the family that operates this place. We've been regulars for years, they feel like family & I love their food.

The daily specials are truly a bargain. I've had a few and their portions are generous. They have a great salsa bar and their service is always friendly. We have been here a number of times and the food is consistently good and made to order.

Pretty good! The staff is super nice most of the time & the food is good. The tortillas are definitely lacking and are dry and cracked. I usually get it to go and use my own tortillas. Great prices though so it's worth it. Would love if they stepped up that tortilla game ha. This became a favorite of ours for price and convenience for sure!

I tried it and will not go back. Before I placed my order I asked what was on the nachos as I do not like a bunch of onions and tomatoes and other things. I like to keep it simple. The girl told me meat cheese guacamole sour cream and pico. I said hold the pico and guac. When I got my order it was loaded with tomatoes and onions. You would think when I said hold the pico de gallo they would understand tomatoes and onions are a no go but not this place. I ate around it as much as I could. The cheese was not melted and the entire thing was cold. They don't clean off the tables after someone has eaten there and most of them were a mess. This place is definitely a one and done for me. I'll go back to Gresham burrito shop on main. It's way better.

Stopped by after hiking for a bite. I've been excited to try this place since Josh F. spoke so highly about it. The staff are friendly and very knowledgeable. I got a fish taco, an al pastor taco, and a burrito (thanks for the coupon, Josh!). Everything was pretty tasty. The al pastor had good flavor and a nice crispness. I wish I had some grilled pineapples with it though. The fish taco was decent and had a good batter. The pollo asado burrito which I just took a few bites from was full of chicken and flavorful guacamole. Their salsa bar is good as well. Super tasty spot and worth the stop!

We've been coming here for years and our whole family absolutely loves it! My husband highly recommends their Chicken Fajita Burrito & I love their rolled tacos & cheese enchiladas. (Tip: if you're going to get chicken tacos, be sure to get the grilled chicken and not the shredded chicken.) We've always been really impressed with the quality of food & friendliness of staff. This our favorite affordable spot for family eats.

The food was still good but I also like to feel appreciated when I choose a restaurant. The staff has always been non-verbal ever since I come to this place. They take my order and that is that. Never really bothered me before but tonight was different. My order was $46 including a tip, I paid extra because I had to place my order through Yelp because no one picked up the phone the two times I tried to call. Figured this was ok, didn't mind but I had to pay $2 extra for each soda doing this but still ok with it. Paid for salsa. Horchata was awful. No flavor and watered down. No salsa was enclosed. Went back to get salsa. Staff is not rude but not friendly or apologetic for not including items. I was not rude and just walked away feeling sad as I drove a very long ways to patronize my favorite Mexican spot. Times have been hard and I was looking forward to this treat. I am thankful the food was as good as I remember.

The tacos were okay. I got carne asada tacos and salsa/chips for the side. The meat was really gummy, and the salsa was literally just pico de gallo.
