Don Maguey Mexican Restaurant is a hidden gem, but fair warning: don’t miss the entrance or you’ll have to do a loop to get back—though that’s not the restaurant’s fault. The parking lot is a bit tight and limited, which can be frustrating considering how good this place is, but again, that’s more of a location issue than anything they can control.
Once inside, we were greeted warmly by a kind waitress. Even if you don’t speak Spanish, no worries—they speak English too and make everyone feel welcome. The menu is small, which I appreciated—it’s straight to the point, and surprisingly, they offer vegetarian options, which is rare for many traditional Mexican restaurants. It’s a nice bonus for those who don’t eat meat.
Prices are reasonable, so don’t be intimidated by the bill. They do include a service charge, but considering the experience and food quality, it feels fair.
Overall, I highly recommend Don Maguey for anyone looking for a quick bite or a casual meal that still delivers memorable flavors—great food, good people, and a spot worth revisiting.
