Don Pedro Mexican Restaurant

Walking in to a really nicely decorated restaurant with a great atmosphere. We were expecting some really good food… Hard rubbery, dry, chewy chicken enchiladas with hard edges on the corn tortillas, indicating they were old or improperly stored..tamales with hard dry, tough rubbery meat center and the masa was a thick gummy texture and hard. Our server was very sweet, friendly and accommodating. No problem with service at all… Food, safety Who is a real concern. Very surprised and very disappointed will not return

We stopped in here for lunch while out riding. Our waiter was super friendly and the food was delicious. The atmosphere was clean and quiet. One of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve eaten at.

We absolutely love this place the food is always delicious and the service is phenomenal! We come here at least once a week and never had a bad experience.

I go there couple times a month. I love their food . I usually get Quesadilla or the #7 which is 1 burrito, 1tamale and 2 tacos.

I’ve grown up with this restaurant; coming in each Sunday after church as a kid. Their menu is very mild and there are plenty of seating options whether you prefer indoor or outdoor, they’ve got you covered. 10/10

Yikes… when you call an hour before they close to just have a pick up order for a cheese quesadilla and they won’t answer multiple times. My money is going somewhere else.

Went there for a meeting my first time visiting this restaurant. The place was crowded and there were lots of conversations. Our waitress directed us to a quiet room and returned with Salsa and Chips, She was friendly and polite with lots of smiles. Now for the Bad.. Our food was of a smaller portion. I've heard many peoples verbal responses but I prefer my own review. Now the flavor part of this review being from California, the salsa was very lite on spices and flavors, the meat was tender but needed Mexican seasoning and cooking style. Overall their cooking must been catered towards their local area customers and not to true Mexican culture or cooking traditions. I would not recommend this restaurant to any customers who been associated with true Mexican or Latin culture cooking.

Took a lunch break while working in the area and found this restaurant in a strip mall. Checked out the menu after being seated and served fresh chips and salsa. Immediate service, ordered unsweetened ice tea. It came in a big glass. Ordered the shrimp fajitas. Plate filled with shrimp, cooked onions, red and green peppers on a sizzling iron griddle. Also came with the fixins. Typical Mexican restaurant with Spanish music in the background. The food was very good and I could not eat it all. It only came with two shells which was disappointing so I had to eat the rest of the shrimp with a fork.prices are reasonable too. Will go again when in the area. Lots of guys there with work vests on so it must be good.

There were some hits and some misses at Don Pedro. We came as a party of five and were seated immediately. There are some things in life not qorth complaining about. One is when you order a Diet Coke and you know what you taste is Diet Pepsi. I certainly lived. The prices here are excellent. I ordered four enchiladas, one each of beef, chicken, beans and cheese for $8.99. Definitely worth the price. The only thing a tad overpriced were the kids meals. Overall everyone enjoyed their food. My chicken was a little chewy, but the other three enchiladas were very good. I loved the sauce. The final bill for four adults and one child was a super reasonable $54. Our server wasn't very talkative, but she was efficient and kept an eye on our drinks for refills. No complaints about the food or service.

My girlfriend and I stopped for dinner, and both of us were truly disappointed in the taste of the food. Several of our dishes tasted like someone just dumped a container of salt. We did tell the Server and she took the tacos off. They were probably the worst. I had the fajitas and they were salty in spots I would've thought the manager would've came over to discuss our food with us , however, they never did. Shows a lack of caring.

The best Mexican in King William. Consistently great food. The servers are always very friendly too!

The service is great. The wait staff were friendly and welcoming. My 70 year old aunt was cutting up and they still were patient. The best wait experience I've ever had at a Mexican restaurant. The food was no less than average. The carnitas was good. A bit salty tho. Everything else on the plate just tasted regular. Nothing popped to me.

Delicious Mexican food. I highly recommend and would eat again. I had the vegetable fajita burrito with guacamole dip. Was very satisfied.

This spot is fast friendly and treats you like family. The chicken fajitas were just right. The chips and salsa are always out fast with a cold drink. It is so clean and never too crowded. Tonight we took some home to eat later. Yummy!

Our favorite local restaurant. Staff is amazing. Food is always good and fresh. I just wish that they had specials to offer different than the stuff on the menu.

We used to order from there all the time and it was great. Now the last three times we have ordered it's been wrong. There is no flavor to the food, no seasoning at all. I called up there tonight to tell the man the order was wrong. No apology no customer service skills at all. He told me to come on up there didn't ask me what was wrong so he could have it ready. Hung up on me while I was still talking.

Just moved to area and happy to find a Mexican restaurant so close to home. Until we "tried" to eat there. On a Monday night at 7:45 we arrived and preceded to wait at least 45 minutes for our food. Asking server twice what was up. Were informed that they had a large party. Which we saw... and it wasn't huge. I guess the point is that I've been in plenty of Mexican restaurants where you almost always get your food before you are even ready. Called MGR over to complain and he could only make excuses. At the time we left ( without getting food as they said it would still be 10 more minutes ) the restaurant was only 1/3 full. Won't be back.

Stay away from this place I feel so bad this is the only place to go for Mexican/ Spanish food for the people that live in this corner of no where. It's only open because of the fact that they have no competition and that there isn't very many other options for dinning out in this area. I think they have a lot of potential if they had competition and actually had to try. The meats are either sooooo damn salty or literally taste like boiled meat bland watery and just makes me sick to relive. They're have to smother everything in sauce to make it half way appealing or decent. The best thing I've tried here are they're margaritas, frozen ice cream and the FREE chips and salsa.

Giving this restaurant a 4 for value, cleanliness and good Mexican food. Nothing fancy but hits the spot! We had lunch specials, both around $6 a plate. They are generous with salsa, giving you a full carafe which I like!

Authentic Mexican food.... not expensive but we did spend mor than we do at most mexican restaurants well worth it though.... Cute atmosphere and friendly service.

Nice food good service. Interior design is fun and welcoming. The only disadvantage of this place would be waiting to be seated while this place is not crowded. Not sure if it's an internal policy or just a laid back atmosphere. On busy days you will probably end up waiting for at least an hour... Not fun, if you're hungry/angry...

I go early so never a wait to be seated. The staff is always friendly service is quick. I enjoyed the enchiladas verdes.

I love this place and so do my two boys. It is just around the corner from my house and whenever we get a chance to eat here we do! The prices are affordable, there's plenty of seating, the staff is always friendly too. The food is absolutely scrumptious. There are many Mexican food restaurants to chose from in the Richmond/Tappahannock area and we always come back to this one. I've eaten at many restaurants from CA to VA and this is by far my favorite Mexican food restaurant and that is surprising considering it is just around the corner from my house.

WORST Mexican food I've ever had! The chicken had absolutely no flavor, my food was soggy & the chips were stale! Can't complain about the customer service but never again!

bland mexican with slow service, It would be a better choice to drive to mechanicsville, va for mexican.
