The environment and food are good. The portions justified the price of the dishes. It can get busy during peak dinner times. I would come back to try other dishes. Complimentary fruit plate and sweets to complete the meal.

Cantonese restaurant offering family style dining. Most popular items tend to be the seafood. Daily specials every day of the week offered with very reasonable prices. I went for the lobster dinner special and King crab deal on two occasions. Reservations not needed unless you're a larger group 5+ to ensure you get a table. It's not a huge space so some limited seating for big groups. I've also bought take out from their neighboring storefront...think BBQ and Roast meats, chicken wings and noodles to go.

Spacious and not crowded option for Cantonese food in flushing! Not sure why exactly this restaurant didn’t have a lot of business but I was pretty happy with the food and service. The restaurant was mostly empty when we arrived on a Friday night. We got pepper shrimp, black pepper lamb, tofu seafood stew and scallops. It was really delicious and everything was cooked authentically. They have special half off dishes everyday as well as lunch specials! I would recommend.

The food was beyond my expectations. All the dishes I ordered were delicious. Garlic crispy spareribs 蒜香骨were tasty and crunchy. seafood tofu casserole海鲜豆腐煲 was tender and fresh. The fish 清蒸鱼was tender and delicious. The waitress was very kind and explained different fish to me. Overall it was very pleasant place. I will definitely come back. They also have promotion $30 for 2 lobster if I remember correctly. It is worth to try.

What an awesome dining experience! The food here was packed with authentic Cantonese flavor — from the expertly prepared seafood to the delicious classics like lobster and steamed fish — everything was fresh and beautifully seasoned. The portions are generous and perfect for sharing with family or a group of friends. Book the private room for gatherings and get access to the KARAOKE SYSTEM. This whole place is run with such love and care, you'll taste it in the food and feel it in every second ❤️ EDIT: went back again in April 2023 and still slaps!!! The dongyue fried rice, fried milk pork chops, and special steamed/fried fish were the special stars, but truly every dish was a hit!

Celebrated new years and a birthday here and every time I come I mentally black out and inhale everything that hits the table. This place is truly incredible and is my favorite restaurant in Flushing! The king crab is a TREAT and a must here. They bring it out so you can see how big it us, and prepare it in 3 ways in big platters so you know that none of the crab has gone to waste. The service is also incredible, and it’s BYOB so it’s the perfect place to celebrate with friends and family. You can rent out the back room as well and where there’s a karaoke room and you can jam out with friends while eating. Don’t skimp out on the experience and just order everything and have a great time. You won’t regret it.

The restaurant has a small store at the side where you can buy to go food like peking duck. Easy if you are craving authentic Chinese food. Location: It is located around 38th Avenue. The restaurant has a lot of seating but I always buy at the store beside for take out. Service: both of them were nice. They gave me extra roasted pork because I bought a lot. Food: Everything was delicious here. Very authentic Chinese food. PEKING DUCK: very delicious and not salty. Unlike other stores that are very salty. The meat inside is very tender. CRISPY PORK: my favorite! The skin is so crispy and meat is tender. Even the meat inside is flavorful. CANTONESE CHICKEN: its so delicate. The chicken was soft and flavorful. You don't need to put any seasoning. ROASTED PORK: sweet and delicious. Again the meat was tender. Price rating: 6/10. It was not expensive. I usually pay $40 for half duck and 1 lb crispy pork plus free small roasted pork. Definitely will come back because it's my favorite Chinese spot in Flushing.

We came here as a party of 5 right about 6-7pm. There were maybe 3 other occupied tables so it was not busy at all. After 20-30 minutes of waiting for our food we flagged the waitress who avoided us the entire 30 minutes. The manager noticed us waving for the waitress and it finally dawned on her that our food is missing. She ran to the back to argue with the kitchen and then they all ran back to the front and found our food had been packed up for takeout. It was sitting there the entire time. They told us it would be right out but we said we don't want cold food now. They promised it wouldn't be cold. So we relented since we were starving and tried to laugh it off as best we can. The food was still hot enough to eat and actually very tasty. We got no apologies from the waitress or the manager. We were not given any discount or anything for the inconvenience. We knew we would never come back ever again. Btw, we left a tip and the manager swooped in to take it herself. That kinda capped off the whole weird experience.

This Cantonese family style restaurant offers plenty of seafood and BBQ meats (there's a take out next door).. Think lamb chops with a smoky finishing sauce (you order the exact # of chops it's not a standard platter), filet steak with Chinese Broccoli, twin lobsters sauteed in ginger and scallions, ie. If you go on a weeknight, they offer daily deals on usual pricey items so it's a very good deal indeed. Think King crab, lobster specials and such. And during the Chinese holidays, they even have giveaways and raffles. They aim to please and that translates to repeat business. Parking lot next door, part of the Queens Crossing Mall. You get comped for three hours with any stamped validation, with purchase. Dine-in purchases I might add. Service is efficient and fast.

Dong Yue is an established Chinese Seafood Restaurant in Flushing Downtown. There is restaurant side for full-service dining and a smaller side in a separate entrance for take-out with roasted ducks, Char Sui (roasted pork) and ribs, roasted pig, cuttlefishes, soy sauce chicken, etc. There are several fish tanks with live fishes, live lobster, and crabs. There are a main dining area and two smaller private rooms in the back. We have a birthday celebration here with around 80 guests. This is a fixed menu event with about 13 courses so everyone will enjoy dinner here. Wine and beers are served with the dinner. We started with a cold cuts platter with five spice roasted beef slice, pig knuckles with jelly fishes and cucumbers. A big plate of walnut shrimps, steak with asparagus, twin lobsters, abalone with whole Chinese mushroom, whole fried chicken, steamed flounder, seafood soup and more. They expertly prepared with love and serve one dish at a time. It is shared and served family style. My favorite dish is steamed flounder! My mouth is still watering as I write this review! The service is excellent, plates are changed several times. Food are fresh and tasty. Gifts were given out to celebrate the birthday event. We love the ambiance and festivity in Don Yue. Will host another event here anytime!

AMAZING FOOD, AMAZING SERVICE!!! 5 STARS I was only in New York for the weekend, and Dong Yue came up in my google search for seafood nearby! I arrived, and it was quiet. The ambiance is both classy and social. A manager seated me and told me about the menu. I ended up ordering spring rolls and the stir fried lobster in bean sauce. The spring rolls were very fresh and fried to perfection! Now let's get to the main event: the lobster! Every bite was an absolute EXPLOSION of flavor! The black bean really sets the dish off, and the lobster was absolutely delicious, filled with a generous amount of meat. There was also a tea served to me prior to my meal. It tasted great! I would 100% return for the stir fried lobster and recommend that anyone who is curious give it a try!

Dong Yue is a favorite restaurant of our family, and it never disappoints. Whether we're craving a hearty dine in meal or a quick take out lunch, this place is our weekly go-to spot. Their Chinese BBQ lunch sets are fantastic. My favorite set to order is the Chinese BBQ combination of roast duck, roasted pork, and soy sauce chicken. The meals come with rice and cabbage, and they're always generous with the portions--plenty of flavorful, tender pieces in every order. The food is incredibly delicious, and the quality is consistently reliable. Whether you're dining in or taking out, I recommend Dong Yue as an excellent choice for authentic Chinese food.

This is our go to canto place for dinner. When you enter, it's super bright and there's the fish tank on the left side. When we were ordering, they brought out a bucket with the live fish they picked out for us so we could say bye. Jk... to see if we were ok with the size. Next door there's a parking garage, with dinner it's feee 3 hour parking and for lunch, 2 hours is now $5. We love the food, everything tastes good!! Wait staff came by changing out our dirty plates very often. For dessert,!they have a unique red bean gelatin cake along with fruits and soup. So for fruits, usually for a large group of people, everyone would eat one piece of fruit. My husband ate all the watermelon so I asked the waitstaff if we could have more because my husband isn't Chinese and he didn't realize it's one per person. Also, make sure you eat the fruits first and then drink the soup or else your taste buds won't be tasting the sweetness of the fruits!

Went for the first time the other day. I chose the 2 meat over rice. Got crispy pork and roast pork. Crispy pork was not crispy at all, it had some flavor, but not really impressed. As for the roast pork portion it was a little dry and again not much flavor. Also felt like I got yesterdays rice as well.

Looking at this restaurant from the outside it looks pretty nice, on the inside it's very a generic looking Chinese food restaurant you could pluck right from Chinatown in Manhattan. Definitely needs some tlc in spots inside or a good makeover. Now on to the food. I have to say the food was very good. We had a party of 11 and did have our own room in the back due to it being a celebration. We had the Lazy Susan rotating table top which is found in many bigger Chinese places so that you can share the food. From the chicken to the beef, the lobster and the abalone all were very tasty and cooked great. The rice that we recieved also wasn't just plain white rice, it had more flavor to it and color, which was very good and a nice change of pace. The amount of food that was served was also very good, no one went home hungry. The service was very good as well. As for the price, with the amount of food we had and a few beers and sodas it was very good. As I said the only real thing that needs improvement is maybe the decor, some updates. PS. Side note if you park in the underground parking lot next door on your way out of the restaurant ask them to validate your parking ticket and you park for free. Just expect when busy for the lot to be slow as it's valet and they can be very slow.

Got take out here one night. The food was expensive and mediocre. The gave me free custard buns (which was good) and fried milk (not a fan). The walnut shrimp had no broccoli and way too much sauce. The sauce is too sweet and thick like condensed milk. The sauteed flounder filet cubes is sauteed with snow peas, onions, and celery. It's a bit bland. Not what I expected. There are better Cantonese restaurants around.

Take out food, quick and easy with friendly staff. I ordered two " rice box " both with Char Sui ( Cantonese bbq pork ) with soy sauce chicken. Very filling portion and only $10/ box.

Very good taste and service. A friend invited me to a meet up here and it was quite delicious. We had assorted dishes that were preordered and each dish was tasty and none were bad. We started with a lobster salad and roasted pig. The pig was very meaty and the skin was roasted to perfection - crispy and not fatty (oil as well as meat). I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked the roasted pig. Then we had an herbal chicken soup. We also had Peking pork chops with fried milk, a vegetarian vermicelli noodle with veggies, roasted chicken and fresh fish. The meal ended with noodles and fried rice. The restaurant provided complementary dessert of watermelon, red bean soup and a red bean mochi. If you have a family gathering, I would consider going here.

Came here for lunch on a Sunday and didn't experience a wait! We were seated next to the front door, next to the glass wall. The restaurant has great lighting, and they opened back up in October 2022 after renovations. The bathroom is a bit small though (and for some reason the floor next to the toilets were all wet..). Anyways, the manager Darren was very nice and accommodating. We ordered three dishes for the three of us -- 1. Fried pork chops (5/5) not oily, good seasoning 2. Scallops with tofu in black bean sauce with Chinese broccoli (4/5) this was not bad -- scallops were small but cooked nicely 3. Chopped chicken with lettuce (5/5) I thought this was great and the lettuce tasted super fresh and crunchy Total came to $75 before tip!

Authentic Cantonese restaurant with yummy food - great for big groups! Highly recommend the lamp chops, sweet and sour fish, walnut shrimp, lobster sticky rice, and the crab! Every dish was delicious - you can really tell that the chefs put in a lot of care in both the presentation and the taste. Also it is super cool that private rooms include a karaoke system!

I have been here a few times, when it first opened and recently for Lunar new year. Just want to advise everyone not to get the squirrel fish. It was made with a section of carp, hence they don't specify what fish they use. Carp just tasted bad. It had a medicinal aftertaste in my opinion, and I would never order it in this restaurant ever again.

This is a tasty, authentic, Chinese seafood restaurant. The restaurant has a classy, friendly vibe. The decor was modern. It's big enough for a dinner party or intimate dinner. We tried the duck, beef andclams,fish, shrimp, noodles...... and everything was delicious. Most items, you can't go wrong. The wait staff tried to be attentive but milled around the register area a lot. You can flag one over from there. The price was a little pricey compared to other Asian seafood restaurants.

My cousins selected the $698 dinner combo for our table of 10. The maitre d' assured us it was more than enough food and he wasn't kidding. I lost count of how many dishes were served and each platter was large. Well worth the $698 menu and then some. Food: Very good. While some combos were unexpected (eg lobster w/mayo & fruit), they were well prepared and tasty. Service: Variable. The maitre d' was phenomenal. Others needed prompting and needed flagging down. Ambiance: Very bright and airy. However the large screen TV and music dominated the space and made conversation with table mates difficult. I'd come back but just to eat and not entertaining others. PS During the day, there's an adjacent roast meats section next door. Very good selection.

My in-laws have been going to Dong Yue / Foo Kee for decades. My wife and I have enjoyed it for the 15 years we've been together. Not the only destination in Flushing but it is our #1 location for family gatherings. Personally, I love the food, the menu, the service and the very reasonable prices. Food is fresh and I don't think we've ever sent anything back. Whether you want to pick up some pig, duck, chicken or pork (yes it's different), for a meal at home or nice seafood dinner with your loved ones, I highly recommend you give Dong Yue a try. I've included some meal pics from our feast for 11 hungry Asians and a white guy (me).

Tried a couple of their menu items for take-out. It's easy to order on the phone for pick-up later, which is very convenient. This rating is an average across the different dishes I've tried here so far. Braised E-Fu Noodles with Mushrooms: The texture of the 伊面 was great. A lot of places tend to overcook these noodles which make them soggy and too soft in texture, but the ones we ordered from here were nice and chewier. The flavor was good, not too salty or anything. Braised Bean Curd w. Filet Fish: This was also a pretty good dish, good flavor and lots of sauce. There was a good amount of fish and tofu as well. Sweet & Sour Pork: This was honestly a big disappointment. The sauce was definitely too sweet. Most of the meat pieces were just fat + fried batter, and it took a lot of effort just to extract the small amount of actual meat inside.

This is far worst Cantonese restaurant in Flushing with horrible service with attitudes and the cashier is one of the worst human being to hire in this restaurant. Food is a total mess and not good at all. The chef definitely is not Cantonese chef at all with the food that they made. In general this is a fully garbage restaurant that is waiting to be closed for good.

One of the worst Cantonese restaurants in Flushing. This is my second time to go to this restaurant. Again, the service is the same as before as horrible. The food is very mediocre to feel like having an average Chinese takeout. Not surprisingly why this restaurant is always empty with few customers. I would not recommend this restaurant at this location. As for the price of the food, I don't feel they are worth it at all. No wonder they don't have customers for such a clumsy business. So for those who don't believe it, go and help yourself to try it.

Great place for a seafood banquet dinner - some highlights of our meal were: - king crab served 3 ways (steamed, stir fried, steamed with egg custard) - fried pork chops with fried milk - scallops with xo sauce - fried intestines - salt and pepper squid - steamed sole - taro and preserved meat fried rice Everything was cooked really well. Really high quality, good service, reasonable prices.

Bad service, and unstable food quality depends on if you are cantonese or not! Never go there again!

Delicious Cantonese restaurant. Attentive waitstaff, and they're very flexible if you speak Cantonese. I took a look at the menu and then ended up ordering off menu. I was super happy about the substitutions they made for us to make everything vegan! We got a Lohan Vegetarian Stirfry over Rice Noodles, and then since their eggplant dishes have salted fish and chicken, we asked for it to be made as a spicy eggplant pot, which was absolutely delicious. I am drooling as I think about it one week later. It was a very homey atmosphere, and I hope to visit again some time!

I go there for the fast food bbq meats side of the restaurant. Their flavor is pretty on point, the service is fast, and the amount of food is very fair. 2 meats + rice is only $10 3 meats + rice is only $12 (I think) No nonsense no frills good food place.

Finding a Cantonese restaurant is surprisingly hard in Flushing nowadays, especially with the bubble tea shops and fried chicken joint popping up all over. But this place has been here for a while and so far has held up a pretty good bar. The food comes out HOT not lukewarm and fresh. You can tell they put a lot of heart into their dishes with the decors that they add. They're flavors is definitely true to Cantonese style. Service there was friendly and fast, the older gentleman is AWAYS greeting tables and chatting with them, giving his food advice/recommendations. Waitress and hostess also very nice. Ambiance is nice and bright, with the newer redecoration the restaurant looks cleaner and more welcoming.

We ordered the Prawns with Mayonnaise Sauce and Fried Crispy Milk, which in Chinese also includes Walnuts. Not only is it a part of the name, but the dish is traditionally known for the shrimp and the WALNUTs. When we opened the takeout box at home, the walnuts were no where to be found! We then called them asking for an answer because this is not the first time that they've lacked something in a dish. There have been other times that we've ordered from this place and they've messed up the order with a different dish or charged for more for something that I didn't order. We decided to give this place a try again after not ordering here for a while but it did nothing besides disappointing us. We came to this place the following day after calling them since they told us they would take of it the next time we come in. What did they say?! I will give you the walnuts. And it wasn't with a good attitude either. As much as I hate to complain, but I wouldn't have done so if it wasn't for their bad attitude and lack of acknowledgement for their mistakes! Definitely won't be coming back again.

Love this place ! In the past few weeks have been here multiple times for dinner and morning yum cha. Owners and employees are very well mannered and the food is delicious, fresh and comes out fast too. Bonus, free to park next door at night time if you're eating here, just give them your ticket to stamp.

Second time here and food, atmosphere, & overall experience was amazing! First time I came, we booked a private KTV room, the food was really good if you know what you're ordering. The KTV room is really worth it if you have a big crowd. The privacy is nice and it's also BYOB! It helps if you have someone that can speak Chinese/Cantonese as this is a traditional family style restaurant. Staff super attentive, my teapot was never empty. They can also alter the menu should you request it (I recommend this being done in Chinese tho). The restaurant itself recently opened so everything is super clean and bright, which I appreciate. We ordered a variety of food today (see images below).

Reserved 2 tables for a big party, staff was very helpful, attentive and polite, shout out to the waitress Lily for patiently taking the time to explain one of the menus that was totally in chinese. Nice ambience, clean, bright. Food was very good, i think very decently priced, i picked this place because i wanted traditional cantonese food and they delivered. This was my first time here and im so glad my family liked the this place. Kind of risky to take the whole family out for a special occasion and not know if it will be good or not. Will definitely be back.

The restaurant was very noisy. So we had to shout to talk to each other. Don't order the chicken lo mein! It was overcooked, mushy and had almost no chicken or vegetables. The Peking pork chops and the Braised Tofu with vegetables were good.

The food and service were both good. Nice to see a filled dining hall. The manager recommended the beef rib which was a hit.

We came here on a Monday. The restaurant only had 2 table's including us. No wait staff only the manager (maybe owner?) serving us. Assuming they're trying to save money. Service was pretty bad because there was lack of any service basically. We knew what we wanted but the owner kept pushing us to get a live fish from the tank?! No thank you. He seems upset after we said no. When our dishes came to our table he rudely yelled behind my 73yo mother who couldn't see him behind her " Excuse me! Excuse me! Excuse me!!!" He startled her and I was shocked at his demeanor. The walnut shrimp with mayo was not good cause the walnut were stale. The seafood noodle had no taste. No happy with overall experience and will not go back again

Exceptional taste and service at this restaurant; thoroughly enjoyed a variety of delicious dishes with friends. From lobster salad to roasted pig, each dish exceeded expectations. Perfect spot for a memorable family gathering.

Newly opened restaurant. Bright and clean place. Staff was friendly and food is solid. They had many of the classic Cantonese food I grew up eating. The food was not overly salty like some places.

Ordered prawns shrimps with garlic sauce was expecting more shrimps but only saw 5 for over $20. Felt like ripped off. Ordered salty fish fried rice with chicken but did not taste a bit of salty fish flavor in it. Just plain fried rice with chicken.

I've been buying dinner from Dong Yue a couple of times a week for a while now and the food is always very good. But the other day, I bought General Tso chicken and it tasted horrible I can't believe the chef served the dish to us. Because a couple of days before, I ate General Tso chicken and it tasted very good and it was the reason why I wanted to eat it again. My wife bought it back at the restaurant and told them and the only thing they had to say was I will let the chef know about it. The restaurant didn't apologize or offer us credit for the horrible food.

Always the best of tradition Cantonese food...even the simple lunch , but it's sever in hot plate in lunch would be more considerate better . And chopsticks with plate ? Doesn't make amy sense

Had a great time with friends in their private back dining room singing karaoke and absolutely devouring everything. We tried the mapo tofu, pork bbq, lobster, salt pepper squid, fried rice, and jellyfish century egg app. So tasty we ate too fast and forgot to take pictures of the food lol. The plates were a good serving sizes for 9 people. Will definitely be back to try more of their dishes.

Absolutely delicious Cantonese cuisine with fresh produce. Came with a large group so we were able to order many dishes and the favourites were the fresh sashimi platter, lobster sticky rice, whole steamed fish and seared beef with asparagus. Service was quick and attentive too. Great new addition to the neighbourhood!

This restaurant just opened so it seems like they're still trying to work through logistics such as sitting others and getting orders correctly to the right tables when it's super busy. I don't like how they try to put you in the same table with strangers. I had to specifically request it at least 8 times. I understand when it's busy and they want to seat others but covid still exists. I have faith that they'll get it right in the future. The restaurant is definitely aesthetically pleasing, the decor is comfortable and so is the seating. We ordered a bunch of meals and they were perfectly seasoned and cooked. Nothing was too greasy and not too salty. Perfect. They said they might serve dim sum soon in the future. Hope they work out their logistics. Love supporting local businesses and hope they thrive against these tough times.

What's the point in making a reservation when they make you wait for over 20 minutes. Wish I could give zero stars since it looks like they gave our table to another group. Ate here once before and the food was mediocre, so after no sign of getting seated, we left and went to Asian Jewel where they are at least more organized and courteous.

We decided to try this new place around 6 pm at night and ordered takeouts. Ordered 3 different entrees over rice. All three entrees was nearly white when you get them out of the bag. The rice was more than 2/3 of the lunch box tray and I barely see 1/3 of what I ordered. And yes, we have a lot of rice left. We will not go back anymore.
