This classy hotel is located in well kept tropical gardens and lawns, with a stunning view of mount Etna.|It’s main asset is its friendly, competent and discretely helpful staff, from the welcome desk, to housekeeping and the restaurant staff. The outdoor breakfast and dinner were delicious. We did find the breakfast a bit on the sweet side, but on day two, found some heartier cold-cuts and rye bread as well. The pool area is beautiful and relaxing.|One minor detail is the railway nearby with sporadic passage, but not disturbing, definitely not inside the room.|The bed- and adjacent bathroom were very spacious, nicely decorated and we slept very comfortably.||The only caveat is that its opulent luxury attracts a certain “clientele” with a sense of entitlement. I was cut off in my little Audi rental and TOLD TO WAIT by a limo driver who stopped to pick up her clients IN THE MIDDLE of the common driveway. Not the hotel’s fault of course…

The service was impeccable with excellent attention to detail and a great love for fantastic food and wine. I loved the privacy of the rooms and plunge/private swimming pools. One of the best breakfasts I have ever had. Our room and balcony (by the plunge pool) felt like we could have been in a jungle or somewhere green. Very relaxing. Beware that in our room, which was not in the main manor building, there was no separation/door between the toilet and the sleeping area. The common swimming pool is not too large and we opted to spend more time by our private plunge pool. Lovely spot to relax and superb service for their guests.

My wife and I recently stayed here for a night as part of our honeymoon. When vacationing, you tend to miss the place you were visiting more than the hotel or hostel. In this case, and the first time for my wife and I, we were both devasted to leave this beautiful piece of paradise. The location is tucked away and quiet. The building itself is well-appointed and a pleasure to experience. The staff is wonderful and genuinely likes working there. The grounds make you feel like you're in a special part of Eden. The breakfast is to die for. We can't say enough good things about this gem. Whether you have disposable income, or if you've saved up to do something special, please stay here if you can. You won't regret it.

We enjoyed four nights at this lovely hotel as part of a longer stay in Sicily. As the hotel was not full, we were upgraded when we checked in and were therefore able to enjoy a spacious two-storey suite with magnificent views of Etna. The suite was very comfortable, with a good sized private terrace, table and two chairs. I felt that more comfortable chairs would have been appreciated, as the hard chairs weren’t really suitable for relaxing.||We had a delicious lunch on the beautiful, sunny terrace on our first day, but tended to eat out in the evenings so can’t comment on the evening menus. Breakfasts - also served on the lovely terrace - were fabulous, with so much choice! There were delicious fruits, pastries, a huge variety of cakes (chocolate, blood orange, lemon…), arancini etc, along with substantial a la carte options. Our orders were taken each morning by the delightfully charming and friendly Daisy, who always greeted us with a smile, and who quickly got to know our preferences (chocolate pancakes and extra orange juice for me!). She was definitely the “stand out” member of staff, although everyone was warm, friendly and approachable.||We had a very special time at this peaceful, intimate hotel, and would definitely recommend. We hope to return - next time to one of the lodges with plunge pool!

Nice resort surrounded by green and quite gardens and terraces overlooking the sea. good food & beverage option with gourmet menu for dinner and simple one for lunch. Also possible to have sandwiches and salads by the pool bar. Would suggest to visit.

We went as part of a destination wedding, so a lot of the experience was fine. BUT, you should be aware of Room 26. First off, we paid more for this room because it had a jacuzzi only to be told to heat the jacuzzi was an add’l $35 Euros per night. Also, there is no door from the toilet to the bedroom. No privacy at all.

I had the most amazing birthday staying at Donna Carmela from May 7-9th. Every single staff member we encountered were on point with their excellent customer service. It's a smaller resort but we interacted with 10 different staff of all levels during our 2 nights stat. Both my husband and I felt every staff member exuded pride and joy working as a team. Good job to the owner. They all seem seemed very happy employees and all working well together. We enjoyed our breakfast with Eliana as our server with genuine smile and friendliness. Im impressed she remembers exactly what I requested for our packed breakfast to go for next day. And Ms. Daisy was also very warm and welcoming during breakfast and dinner at La Cucina (same dining room). Our dinner at La Cucina was delicious and beautifully presented. The manager was excellent in making sure all the customers were satisfied and attended to. He was awesome. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves during our stay. I also very much appreciated the manager's upgrade and the treats presented in our room upon arrival. The property is beautifully maintained with numerous fruit trees, flowers and succulents. It gave us a relaxing time and the feel of home away from home. I highly recommend it!

We stayed in the exclusive suite with heated pool this winter as a family. The hotel staff were all so friendly and welcoming during our entire stay. The restaurant had delicious food every meal. We also drove into Catania for the restaurants in about 35-40 minutes comfortably. The room descriptions were accurate, and if not, the room was larger than what was depicted. We specifically wanted the heated pool in the winter, and the heat was just enough for slightly breezy winter days. I would recommend this hotel without hesitation to anyone considering a luxurious stay in Sicily.
