"Featured by multiple local and national media outlets, Donut Bar delivers crowd-pleasing, brightly frosted treats at several locations around the region. When a simple glazed doughnut won’t do, this spot has many changing varieties that are as cheerful as they are sugary." - Roxana Popescu, Candice Woo

"Donut Bar’s new location at The Village Walk at Eastlake in Chula Vista is now open, continuing the shop’s expansion into more and more neighborhoods in San Diego and up the West Coast. The outpost celebrated its grand opening today, with a swag bag giveaway for the first 100 customers. This is the company’s fifth location, and like the other shops in the family, it features chef Santiago Campa’s award-winning donuts in flavors ranging from classic cake batter to creme brulee and caramelized pineapple. Fan favorites like doughnut grilled cheese sandwiches and French toast doughnuts will also be available. Donut Bar Eastlake will also have cinnamon rolls, glazed or topped with bacon, on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays as a special weekend item. As shared by Campa, the Donut Bar team saw poll results indicating they had many visitors from Eastlake at their flagship downtown location, so bringing a location to Chula Vista’s easternmost district made perfect sense. “We are really excited to bring Donut Bar to our Chula Vista fans who make the drive all the way downtown,” he said. Campa also shared Donut Bar is looking to open up in Pacific Beach and Riverside by late summer. Other future locations include Oceanside, UTC, North Hollywood, Sacramento, and Tucson, AZ." - Mario A. Cortez

I have to say, the donuts look amazing! Holy moly, they are big donuts, too. However, as they say, "Don't judge a book by its cover." These big beautiful donuts were super dry almost stale and lacked a fresh flavor.

Google
A must visit! As soon as you walk in, you're hit with the delicious smell of fresh donuts. Their selection is great, donuts are huge, and everything is delicious. Good selection of coffees too. We had the unicorn donut and the pumpkin cream cheese and they were both so good.

Google
The specialty donuts are flavorful, creative and most importantly not overly sweet, just enough for achieving umami. Maple bars with bacon, OH MY! Prices are reasonable, considering their creations are like from a very good bakery vs a donut shop. And they are always so friendly and greet you as you come in.

Google
This place looked like a copy of the famous Voodoo Donuts at first but the donuts are massive and delicious. Friendly service. I've got more flavors to try here for next time.

My wife and I stopped in yesterday evening for some power rings! Its been some time for us to visit… with that said the quality is still holding strong. The young lady at the front was extremely inviting and helpful. We would strongly recommend.

Google
Picked up my donut here since its the only donut bar that's open late. Decent selection at 4pm. I got homer, circus circus, mudpie, red velvet, creme brulee, nutella overload and DB's nutella. They come in huge size donuts, except for few. I'd recommend splitting one with another person and pair with a cup of tea or coffee.

Google
WOw! I was there when they open it and the lines were very long yet is was worth it. Then they closed the place for a little bit and there was a change of ownership. We were very impress with the people, the service and the flavor. The new owners did a little changes and they do open now early and close later than before the change of ownership. The place has seating outside the shop and you can enjoy the beautiful pond and outside. The flavor of the doughnuts hasn't disapoint and the variety on the menu is amazing. I am still looking forward to eat the french toast doughnut they only make them in the morning of Saturday & Sunday. The young lady that helped me and my wife was super friendly and very awesome. Always smiling. Another product I have to try next time I come back is going to to be thier drinks. They all look good and very well served. The Mall has handicap spaces and ramps for handicap trafic. Also the patio is very easy to get to. There aren't any children seats, yet there are a lot of families with children that are used to carry the kids on their legs. All an all the Donut bar is a great experience and we getting ready to go back again some time next week. I recommend the place 100% Love it!!!

Google
Delicious and fresh donuts . The crème Brielle is to die for my new favorite donut . Best donuts in the area and the coffee is delicious

Yelp
I'm surprised that Donut Bar can stil keep their prices fairly priced especially for their extra large donuts! Some of them are larger than my head and they are still selling them for less than $5 a pop. respect! I tried their caramel latte donut and chocolate old fashion recently and was pleased with how good these donuts still are. Just a tad dry on the old fashion, but overall, still pretty good!

Yelp
Stopped by here to grab a special donut for a 5 year old birthday girl! Of course she wanted their famous Unicorn donut. The shop itself is located with a bunch of trendy type shops. But the layout of the shops were cute, reminded me of walking through Disneyland shops. First impression upon walking in was that their donuts were on the bigger side. Even their donut holes was the size of golf balls. I'll be honest, I only had their donut holes and it was pretty good. I tried the two versions that were there at the time: sugar glazed and sugar donuts. Both were good. The shop itself was small, but we went early on a weekday morning so it wasn't that busy at all. The service was great.

Silvia D.

Yelp
This cute donut shot is located in a real busy shopping center which means, first thing off the bat, parking can be tricky. The establishment is real small and has a decent amount of donuts to choose from... Donuts...I was naughty and ate both my donuts in a day and I cab tell you they were tasty. Price...a bit pricey for donuts but nowadays what isn't. Service was quick... the girl behind the counter was nice- no complaints. Good spot to stop by and enjoy a great as the outside has a REAL CUTE pond with turtles and fish. I'd so by again if I'm ever in the area Service

Saliha M.

Yelp
Big donuts that are honestly a 3-4 person serving, nice price. Quality flavor, friendly staff, but this was an odd company. They don't have any cutlery and cannot cut the donuts for you. They don't have any plates either, or napkins. We ordered a box of donuts and 2 lattes, so I'm not sure what happened but it was a weird experience. If this is an environmental thing than I can appreciate and understand that, but it would make sense if there were signs supporting that because it seemed really awkward and hard to eat the food that we intended to eat and bought.

Abel T.

Yelp
"I came in and got a sugar donut with strawberries for $6.50, and wow, it was incredible! This is hands down the most amazing dessert you can get. Donut Bar is by far the best donut place on the planet. I also love their merch--I've bought so much from them. Service was amazing. Like always.

Thea M.

Yelp
I was pleasantly surprised of the variety of vegan donuts; I got 3 of the 6 available. Service was prompt despite the line and only one person working. I would not get a latte there again. The store was clean with cute donut merch available. There were about a dozen different varieties of beautifully large donuts of all flavor combinations. Definitely recommend this place to satisfy your sweet tooth craving!

Karin P.

Yelp
Pretty great! Good location, no lines and only one person working but he was pretty nice. I'm honestly surprised that it wasn't more crowded when we went. They had a very large selection and was the perfect welcome back to San Diego treat! We loved it.

Jesus B.

Yelp
Donuts are good. Plenty of parking. Nice ambiance outside, it's in a shopping center but, there is a nice fountain by the seating out there and it beats going to the busy downtown location. Donuts are so extra but, it's great! They're also huge and shareable. Some of the donuts even have an entire pop tart in them. We went during comic con week and they had character donuts which were pretty cool. A great place to take kids or family when they're in town.

Anthony T.

Yelp
Glad they opened up a Donut Bar here in Eastlake so I don't have to drive all the way to downtown and struggle to find parking to get my fix! The store is located in a large shopping plaza with plenty of parking spots. Majority of the donuts here are larger than traditional donuts, but that's part of the appeal. Some flavors in my opinion are overly sweet and some are just right, it all depends on your sweet tooth. They have a donut called the Big Poppa that has an entire pop tart in the center of the donut. I prefer the yeast donuts over the cake ones and my go to flavor is the lemon pistachio, which they don't have all the time. Another really popular one that isn't advertised too much is their French toast donut, which is prepared on the griddle and served with syrup, eaten with a knife and fork. Never had any complaints with service, the Eastlake location only has seats outdoor and none inside.

Karen M.

Yelp
The bar with a one man show! Let me start by saying that this guy working here is a SUPERSTAR! He deserves a raise! Super friendly, he knew everything about each donut, worked efficiently and in a decent amount of time all on his own and a great attitude! I went on a Sunday, later in the day and wasn't expecting much. But he delivered and sent us 2 happy customers out the door with 3 boxes and 2 coffees in a very short amount of time! So what are we here for? Right, the donuts. I wish I could say I recommend ABC. But we walked out with over 2 dozen each donut was different. Excerpt for the maple bacon and one other one I forgot the name. Give me an F for this description, but I'll tell you what... all the donuts... amazing! The flavors... amazing! My belly... gigantic! Pretty happy we came here for our Sunday sweet cravings. It's already Wednesday and all what's left still from all the donuts still has the great freshness from day 1, so that right there... is amazing!

Gail O.

Yelp
Been here a few times. Donuts are HUGE!!! One donut in a box would be a great gift for a donut lover. Fun decorations on the donuts, coffee isn't bad, and there is a tranquil area outside with a koi pond to enjoy your treat with your dog.

Steve Y.

Yelp
Excellent service every time at the Donut Bar! Nice variety of donuts to choose from. Tonight, we tried the Boston Crème Maple Bar, Chocolate Twix Donut and plain Old Fashioned.

Estebam F.

Yelp
First I was not very happy that I had to go back to my vehicle to get change to pay. I like to carry cash to pay for things. My daughter and I purchase two different donuts and they were both tasted on the dry side. The good thing about the donuts, is that that they did look very pretty.

Quyen V.

Yelp
Decent but small spot for donuts. It was okay nothing to write home about. I don't think they had a lot of desirable options. They have too many oversized dry donuts in comparison to regular sized donuts. I'd rather go for smaller options even with only a few flavor choices. Customer service could've been more attentive. I favor the downtown location better for their customer service, better options, minus the parking, and really small table to eat inside but that's downtown.

Soul E.

Yelp
Mediocre. Some donuts were really good but some were just plain awful. Decent selection but still would rather go to a cheaper spot because I feel it was around the same quality just not as fancy.

Robin L.

Yelp
Haven't been in years but was looking for something to compare with another donut. I got the caramel latte I think. Looks nice but when I picked it up I knew there was something very wrong. It is not filled but was the heaviest donut I have ever picked up. Yes, it is large but it is heavy due to being more the consistency of a dense bread rather than a donut. I took a bite and it was not only dense but overly sweet. I was told the drizzle on top was espresso. Zero coffee could only taste sweet. Sadly, I threw the rest away.

Hannah R.

Yelp
Best donuts ever, hands down. Donut Bar offers a wide range of delicious flavors paired with the perfect donut texture. The Strawberry Split, Coconut Dream, and S'mores Big Poppa Tart were the show-stealers for us. The outdoor seating area is beautiful and well kept with lots of shade and a gorgeous koi & turtle pond that is a treat to stop and watch for a moment. Highly recommend Donut Bar Eastlake!

Nicole P.

Yelp
Food: I got the maple bacon and the red velvet doughnuts. The maple bacon was a little too sweet, but the red velvet was the right level for my tastes. Along with the doughnuts, I got iced coffee. Great coffee! Service: The young lady behind the corner was very helpful, and she answered my question regarding if one of the doughnuts was filled or not. I will definitely be visiting again to try out more of the cake doughnuts and get more ice coffee.

Estra Y.

Yelp
My go to coffee place! Great service every time! I recommend the horchata latte and the drip coffee! Friendly staff all the time

Shirley T.

Yelp
Parking: Plenty available as it's located in a plaza with lots of other shops / restaurants. Ambience: It has plenty of fun and creative donut-themed decorations. They even matched the colors of the Christmas tree ornaments to the white and pink theme of the shop. There's a good amount of outdoor seating with a nearby fountain, so it's a nice place to enjoy your dessert :) There are a good amount of options available; there's even a unicorn-themed one! How cute! Service: Relatively quick and great! Taste: I got the Chocolate Twix donut, which didn't taste like Twix ahaha but it was still decently good. Would come back again to try the other flavors!

Sofia P.

Yelp
The donuts come in different sizes. I've had mostly the chocolate ones and they are good! The service is good. The ambiance is chill.

Victor F.

Yelp
Tasty donuts without a doubt! Always great service at this location. Plenty of creative options to choose from!

Maria T.

Yelp
Great services as you walking to the store, a variety of yummy donuts, it is an amazing flavor I tried crème brûlée and an horchata latter super delicious. Great customer service and the site is clean and organized. I do recommend this place if you are in the area.

Diana C.

Yelp
Awesome donuts, love the theme and the different flavors. I got the red velvet, pistachio lemon, strawberry cheesecake and they were all delicious. Forgot the name of the giant one but it was also good. My favorite out of all of them was pistachio lemon! The location is in a shopping center and there is plenty of parking available. There is no seating inside but plenty of tables outside to get some sun and enjoy your donut.

Erwin S.

Yelp
Had been planning on trying this place for years, but never got around to giving it a shot until recently. Went on a Sunday morning around 10am, and was the only customer inside the store. Ordered a half dozen different types of donuts to try out, and headed out of the store. First thing I noticed was how heavy the box was for 6 donuts. Got home, made some espresso, and got my grub on. These donuts are pretty dense in texture, which would explain their weight. Also noticed that they are visually appealing, but their flavor wasn't as strong as I was expecting. Tried maple bacon, red velvet, Nutella, blueberry and a few more. I prefer lighter and fluffier donuts, so will probably try some other spots.

Julie C.

Yelp
I was recommended by a friend that this was a great spot for donuts. I love donuts and had to go! It was in a plaza, close to this cute outdoors. Inside was empty but looks clean. I was here on an afternoon and glad it didn't sell out yet. The staff was kind and understanding with my peanut and tree nut allergies. Please note it is cross-contamination as they are donuts with peanut/tree nut products. The staff explained which ones had peanut/tree nut allergies for me. I got the strawberry cream, crème brûlée, birthday cake Oreo, and Boston creme. All was delicious, but I think my favorite was the Boston crème! I need to come back again to try more flavors! Definitely recommend!!

Melissa K.

Yelp
Don't go to this location, go downtown San Diego instead. There are more selections and they are actually happy to see you there. The staff at the Eastlake location looked at us like we were unwelcome and the whole time we were in there acted like we were inconveniencing them. Plus they don't have the full menu of donuts at this location. The downtown SD location is awesome.

Marisol A.

Yelp
It was around 6PM and we were doing some shopping in the strip mall and we're surprised to see Donut Bar was still open so we decided to pop in to take a few donuts home...there was only 1 employee on site and there were 2 customers ahead of us...I felt bad for the girl behind the counter because not only was she packing donut orders but she also has to make coffee orders and run the register. By the time we were able to order our donuts we had already been standing around for 15 minutes....took home the creme brûlée, mud pie and 2 reindeer donuts...good per usual.

Monica V.

Yelp
New to the area and came across this place. Ordered the Horchata Latte and David the gentleman working recommended his twist on it. I must say this is one of the best coffees I've had in a while. Thank you David for putting me on my new coffee drink. Goodbye Starbucks!! To the Donut Bar David was very kind and friendly from the moment I opened the door. Super happy and always with a smile. Thank you David, keep up the great work!!!

Ramona A.

Yelp
We came here right when they open on a Sunday so everything was fresh and in stock. The donuts were reasonably priced especially for the size and taste of it. They offer military discount, which is a plus. I hear they sell out fast and when they do, they close. My favorite were the donut holes, they were 2 for $1 and really good! I'd definitely recommend.

Diaz J.

Yelp
I was in town so we stopped in. We usually go to the one in Vegas but we always get there toi late and all the good stuff is gone. This one was in a really nice shopping center with outside seating surrounded by a pond with Koi fish and Turtles. It was all perfect.

Annastacia W.

Yelp
Worth the price! Donutbar Eastlake is the go-to place for fun and unique donuts. My four go-tos (I could've recommended the whole menu tbh) are the French Toast, strawberry split, crème brûlée, and lemon pistachio. The portions are huge, which makes the price worth it! Staff are always friendly and there's also fun merchandise for sale! There's a cute outside patio area to eat and sip your coffee, perfect for a nice spring or summer morning!

Jennica S.

Yelp
This location of Donut Bar is the only one I have been to, so I have never experienced crazy lines, completely sold out donuts before noon, or alcohol with my treats such as the downtown location. I would rather avoid all of that, which is why the Eastlake location is perfect. Don't get me wrong-- there are definitely moments where the line is long, but the most I have personally waited was around 10-15 minutes, which is not unreasonable. I remember prior to the pandemic, this location was closing down. I was so sad because I had never tried it! Then, they re-opened during the pandemic, and just decided to stay for business. I believe they got new management too, but not too sure how recent that change was. Donut Bar has speciality donuts, so you will find anything from girl-scout cookie inspired samoa donuts and maple bacon bars, to creme brûlée donuts and Nutella-filled carbs. For this reason, their donuts can cost $3+, with the best expensive (that I have gotten) being $6. I've had my share of just "okay" donuts because they were flavors I was unsure if I'd like but wanted to try, but for the most part, the usuals I get do not disappoint. Their donuts are fluffy and flavorful. Also, they have extended hours on the weekends, so if you miss your opportunity for morning donuts, they will most likely have fresh batches after 5pm.

Lloyd F.

Yelp
I'm not much of a donut eater but had to try the creme brulee. OMG, it's really really good! The brown sugar "crust" was too much sugar for me though. Prices range from $3-5. Overall, this is a great place to try specialty donuts.

Dolores P.

Yelp
It's good and big and beautiful and yummy. Please have one of their donuts. They are amazing:

Dee G.

Yelp
Let me start by saying I don't like donuts. I don't eat them... From anywhere else! My very favorite is the French Toast- it's a must try! The jam it comes with is a great addition. Also love the Maple Bacon, the DB Nutella, and cake batter. There are more I'd like to try but since I'm not the biggest donut fan, it doesn't always pop into my mind and when it dies- I usually gave a hard time deviating from what I know I like. Staff is always fun and friendly. If you haven't tried it, pop in- you won't be disappointed!

Gabriela B.

Yelp
The service is incredible, all of them are very attentive and efficient. they have too many rich options of donuts and coffee. Ambiance is warm and very clean. I love this place. I will definitely be back for my guilty pleasure more often.

Evelyn D.

Yelp
I finally decided to try the donuts here. I got a triple threat and red velvet. Donuts were delicious and not greasy! The guy at the counter was really nice and helpful! I also tried their double shot of espresso and it hit the spot! Excited to try some of their other flavors!

Kayla K.

Yelp
I've been to donut bar before and they make some of the most beautiful looking donuts but the taste isn't amazing I much rather go to one of the OG donut shops but it was my brothers birthday and he doesn't like cake and I thought I wanted it to look cuter than just some basic donuts and everyone loved how nice they looked. So definitely nice presentation but flavor wise not the best. Prices are not bad either I got 16 donuts for around 50$. These donuts are bigger than most.

Crista F.

Yelp
Came here this morning to get some donuts for my siblings! Its their birthday today, and I figured The Donut Bar would have some cool donuts to surprise them with. I woke up a little late and I was concerned I might not get any of the 'good ones', as some of the reviews claim they run out quick. They actually had a lot of different ones this morning! Which was cool, considering a lot of people are out of school and out and about. I ended up getting the unicorn for my sister, Homer for my brother, and two other Christmasy ones. They were good, and definitely a great idea for a special treat! The people working at Donut Bar were super friendly and helpful about what donuts to get. Will definitely be back when I am in town again.

C C.

Yelp
Yummy donuts and delish coffee! They always have a festive theme happening. Fun and yum! What more do you need?

Diane H.

Yelp
Overpriced and coffee selection poor. No decafe. Cinnamon roll lacked cinnamon. Won't be back.

Vinny H.

Yelp
The best service. The nicest staff. Specially the girl who attend me Yanetzy. Great location easy parking. Delicious donuts. Definitely coming back.

Dennis H.

Yelp
Yummy - I had not planned on stopping but I couldn't resist! definitely coming back. Great attendant & service.

Latasha H.

Yelp
Great donuts! Get here early because once they are gone there gone!!! There's no more being made and no extras in the back. Come early especially on the weekends because they sell out fast. Not your traditional donut spot. This is our 1st at this new location yet we frequent the downtown location quite often. They did offer a vast variety of treats!! The menu changes often which is a plus. We've tried the cake batter, triple chocolate, strawberry pop tart, Homer, vanilla bean, maple bacon bar, salted caramel, Oreo.. just to name a few. These donuts will satisfy your sweet tooth as well as donut carving in 1 big bite!!! Small location. Great donuts. Large donuts!! Friendly customer service. Modest to high prices.

Lucas T.

Yelp
I was looking for a quick treat to bring my fiancé at work. Decided to give Donut Bar a second try. First I tried placing an online order for pick up but after starting to place my order I received an error message saying they were not accepting online orders. Which I thought was odd being a slow Tuesday afternoon. Ordered two donuts and two coffees. The donuts were cute and nicely presented but the quality is lacking. The customer service was below average. The lady just stared at me while I was looking at the donut choices, which made me feel like I needed to hurry up. The coffee was the best thing. I think they serve Moto coffee. I remember trying the Donut Bar location at the San Diego airport and wasn't impressed but thought maybe it was because it was a satellite location that the donuts were stale and lacked flavor. So skip the donuts and go for their coffee. There are many other great donut shops in the Chula Vista/San Diego area that offer better donuts at lower prices.

Markeyta G.

Yelp
Oh my GAWD go eat their donuts!! Hands down best donuts I've ever had, I tried the strawberry cheesecake... life changing, the banana caramel... delicious, the Twix was ok and the vanilla donut holes taste so fancy, the lady behind the counter was incredibly sweet, I will drive all the way from San Diego just to have these again!

Anne C.

Yelp
I don't think they sell out as fast as their DT location.. and there's obviously much more parking.. came here just after 9am on a weekday, no long line, just people filtering in and out. You know how Krispy Kreme donuts have that signature taste, no matter what flavor you choose? Well, that's the same with donut bar. No matter what flavor, you'll always get their underlying trademark taste. Many of their donuts are about $3-5 each, and their donuts are HUGE. With that said, bigger is not always better. For example, I ordered the butterbeer donut. While the glaze had that wonderful flavor, the rest is a whole lot of bread. Same with Nutella. Nutella on top, the rest is all bread. However, the Nutella stuffed donut is the complete opposite and is FULL of chocolate hazelnut goodness. Their donut French toast is a popular pick, but husband and I were a bit disappointed. Quite underwhelming. Brioche is the only way to go for French toast. There's a lot of hype surrounding these donuts. They have some that are decorated pretty cool (hello, their unicorn one).. but the taste is just all right. I'd much rather go to a mom/pop shop that hasn't changed since 1989 where awesome tasting donuts cost $.89.

Larisa M.

Yelp
Love this place! Great costumer service all the time, it's funny because they know my coffee order which is pretty cool. I always get a Nutella donut and an iced coffee! They have Cafe Moto!
