Crazy good food and a breezy vintage euro atmosphere and bright snappy flavor combinations are definitely a natural for this Sicilian style "pasticceria" and pizzeria converted from a classy lil' streamline moderne garage or showroom (complete with retractable garage door wall) set across from the R House food hall. Seating inside the eclectic but homey cafe interior is available as well as tons of al fresco eating and chatting outside at their large corner spanning patio of tables and impeccably designed rain garden and benches; people and food breezing in and out. It's how neighborhoods should look. Pizza is thin crust NYC style with excellent chew and flavor, their Quattro Formaggi with extras like pistachio sets it apart from their regular cheese (both delicious) and are sold by the slice or full pie. Pastries are impeccable - I recently had their melon zuccotto cake and it was moist, fluffy, creamy, with melon and lime; everything I could ever want. They also have granita, halfway between shaved ice and a slushy, currently lemon or coffee. The coffee granita? Unreal - not too sweet, strong espresso with rich whipped cream on top? The perfect summer treat and one way ticket back into the proverbial good life Italian food does so well.
