Speakeasy cocktail bar behind record shop with live music

"This Wicker Park bar sports the best sound system of any happy hour venue, as it was built around music. Concerts happen regularly on the stage, and customers will have to enter through an actual record store where patrons can thumb through vinyl on display. The bar offers $9 classic cocktails all night on Tuesday and from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. Customers can bring their own vinyl to play on Tuesday nights. For $5 take advantage of the chef’s special: a bottle of Miller High Life with Angostura bitters." - Lisa Shames

"Wicker Park is home to a handful of record stores—like Dorian’s. But what sets this tiny shop apart from the others is that it’s actually a front for a great cocktail bar and performance venue. Through a door at the back of its listening room is a lounge area with tables, comfy booths, and a small stage. And while they do have snacks like cheese plates and pretzels, you’re here for drinks (the Lonesome Cowboy is a refreshing rye cocktail with hints of bell pepper) and music. The performances range from Afro-Cuban groups, jazz trios, and even DJs—just make sure to come early if you want to actually grab a seat." - john ringor, veda kilaru
"Customers won’t see Zack Attack, the band from Saved by the Bell, perform at Dorian’s, but this space was the original home of the pop culture pop-up. Dorian’s is a stunning spot with great sound, a tiny stage where jazz musicians play, a great wine list, and fun cocktails. The icing on the cake? The entrance is through a record shop." - Ashok Selvam

"In Wicker Park, Dorian’s combines a record store and live music venue with Pan Asian-inspired food. The drinks are strong and the vibe is great for date nights and large groups. This is from the crew that brought the Saved by the Bell pop-up to Chicago and LA." - Ashok Selvam

"OK - in all fairness, Dorian’s quarantine care package is more of a distraction for you than for your kids. The kits come with your choice of wine or cocktail (the “daiq pack” makes four daiquries and comes with two tiki mugs) and a mystery record that Dorian’s picks out for you. But their reaction to the vinyl is a good opportunity to find out if your kids will grow up to be cool or lame." - adrian kane
