Longtime, independently owned Valley staple for crisp tacos, enchiladas, and house salsas. Recent traveler and local reviews point to consistent cooking and friendly service in an unfussy, family-run setting.

Food was fresh and service was great. I had the chicken tostada- flavorless. The best part was the salsa- 5 star. Chile relleno and soft taco were also meh - adequate but nothing special. Maybe we didn’t order the right item.

Google
I tend to judge a Mexican restaurant by, in order: Margaritas, Chips and Salsa, Beans and Rice, everything else. Margarita was exceptional. Good flavor, not too strong not too weak. Chips and salsa also great, with a hotter option if you prefer - which was pretty spicy!Beans and rice, since they come with any entree, must be spot on. And again, they rocked it. Excellent Mexican fare, and the service was fantastic. Definitely going back.

I had ground beef nachos. Wife had two ground beef enchiladas with rice and beans. We can honestly say that this was the least flavorful Mexican food in our lives. If I had a one word review it would be “filling.” That’s it. If they put McKays Taco Seasoning containers on the tables, it would taste more authentic. It was seriously blah.

If you’re ever in the valley, hankering for some Mexican at a small Mom & Pop restaurant then Dos Amigos is the place! They truly never disappoint. Tonight we ordered their Chicken Fajitas (Sautéed onions, bell peppers and tomatoes, with tortillas, guacamole, and sour cream on the side) and Camarones Dos Amigos (Sautéed shrimp mixed with onions, bell peppers, tomatoes, and cilantro mixed in a special sauce). Both were served with rice and beans. The entrees were well sized and the sides were large. We both had a lot to bring home. I also had a very tasty Cadillac Margarita. My significant tried a shredded beef hard taco. Definitely give them a try! They also offer their fresh made salsas (hot or mild) for sale. We’ve bought it often, it’s really good.

Such good food! And the service was great, too! Definitely recommend. They get all the stars!

Always a great experience! Although it's self-seating, you're still greeted with a friendly smile. The food is incredibly fresh--just like a delicious, authentic home-cooked meal.

Love this restaurant and the our server was super sweet and very attentive to us. The prices are very really decent, as well as food came out fast and was sooo good. We were going to go to another mexican restaurant before we came here but litterly was greeted by no one so we came here and was seated fast and drink to us in no time at all. Definitely a repeat to this place in the future. ❤️❤️❤️

On Saturday, August 28, 2021, we tried Dos Amigos for the first time. We recently moved into a new house in the Spokane Valley and had no idea the restaurant existed. As we were driving down Trent on our way to pick up Jimmy John’s for dinner we noticed Dos Amigos and decided to go there instead. It is festive inside the restaurant with wall-covered murals and pinatas hanging from the ceiling. The prices are probably a tad cheaper than your average Mexican restaurant and they do have a kid’s menu. They bring chips out in a paper boat container…I would prefer an actual basket but they are generous on the refills and offer two different types of salsa so it is all good in my book. I ordered the chicken and rice burrito, my wife ordered a chimichanga, and our 4-year-old and 1-year-old split the kid’s menu nachos. My wife commented on how fresh the food was and I have to say that my dinner was pretty good. The one thing that kind of differentiates Dos Amigos from other Mexican restaurants is that at the end of the meal your server will bring you a large sopapilla topped with whipped cream and a berry sauce. Nothing like free dessert! We will adopt Dos Amigos as our new go-to neighborhood Mexican restaurant.

Yelp
Hidden Gem. This little spot might not look like much from the outside, but it's one of the best-kept secrets in town. Family-owned, super welcoming, and absolutely delicious. The food is fresh, authentic, and packed with flavor every single time. Sure, the building could use a little love, but honestly, once the food hits the table, you won't care. Everything I've tried has been amazing, and the portions are generous for the price. It's clear the people here care more about the food and their customers than fancy decor--and I respect that. If you want real-deal Mexican food and friendly service that feels like home, this is your place. Support local--you won't regret it!

Yelp
Always appreciate the food and service we receive at Dos Amigos. It's a nice and clean Mom & Pop Mexican restaurant. Their food is fresh with great flavor. . Yelp
Found ourselves on E Trent and looking for a place to have dinner. Dos Amigos is not a trendy fancy looking establishment on the outside but we thought to check it out anyways. Kinda run down and out of the way, but... it looked inviting. One of those places that would serve tried and true good food. Just a few customers were there and we were greeted by a sweet woman immediately. Take a seat anywhere, she said. Quick to bring chips and salsa and attend us. We ordered a fruit margarita and Taquitos appetizer. I had the fajita taco salad. Hubby had Carne Asada Plate. Both were served up fresh and timely. Check out portion size in photos. Delicious. The guacamole was incredible. I usually don't go for it. But this was a bit different and light with some pico mixed in. We enjoyed our little find down by the tracks. Prices are good as well. Check out dos Amigos. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
I love the shrimp enchiladas they are awesome. I order them everytime I am here. They chips are fresh and the salsa is good.

Yelp
Very disappointed! We liked this restaurant a lot over the years, but have not been there in awhile. We ate there this week. The food was horrible! The rice tasted like cardboard and plastic- no flavor whatsoever. I had a chimichanga, and the shredded beef was also flavorless. They give large portions, but if it tastes terrible then what does it matter. Won't be going back again.

Yelp
I have driven past this place for years and have always wanted to try it. I got chicken enchiladas and it came with beans & rice. Chips and salsa also came with it which was nice and the chips were nice and crispy not stale, and the salsa was mid. The chicken enchiladas were also very mid! With that being said it was mid in a very good way! Everything was $13 and it was a very good portion size. I will definitely be a returning customer. If you want mid Mexican food for a good price and good service this is your place.

Yelp
Always drive by this place and finally decided to check it out. I walked in and it was empty but that never bothers me. Young lady greeted me and handed me a menu as I was taking my food home. Went super basic with a bean & cheese and a carne asada burrito. For what you normally pay for two burritos, the price was a good deal. Food cane out fairly quickly, bagged up with sour cream, guacamole and a huge portion of chips. Both burritos were flavorful and justified by the price. Salsa was good just had no heat. Luckily I make my own salsa at home and that really brought out the flavor. I'll Deff check out other options whenever I'm passing by.

Yelp
Covid time dine-in review: Not a Mexican food aficionado by any stretch but lunch at Dos Amigos was fresh and tasty and seemed authentic. This is a family-owned restaurant on E. Trent and we were served by the owner, Juan, who was soft-spoken and kind. Some tables were blocked to facilitate social distancing. Juan and the cook behind the counter were wearing masks (although they did occasionally slide down their noses, Covid problems amiright). The free chips and salsa were really good. My friend had a veggie burrito and I had one of the lunch specials, three cod tacos. Our portions were very generous. Burrito was huge and full of freshly sautéed vegetables. My tacos also had nice ingredients fresh veggies along with the fish (fried) and came with large sides of rice and beans. Both entrees came with guacamole and sour cream. Good flavors, fair prices. And we took plenty of leftovers home.

Yelp
Excellent portion size, excellent food, we were surprised that it wasn't busy on a Friday evening and we usually judged how good a place is by how busy they are but that reasoning doesn't hold true with DosAmigos, I guess it must be because it's not in a higher rent district.

Yelp
My family and I are regulars here. Best Mexican food in the area. Best customer service and food! I highly recommend Dos Amigos to everyone I know!! Great place!

Yelp
The reason you go back to a place is because you liked it (thank you, Capt Obvious). Been over 10 years since the last visit, but it was as great as it was in memory. Madre/Padre y la familia joint in a tough location, but they have persevered. As strange as this might seem, if you are over 40--and you have a loving other--this is an okay place for a quiet date lunch. The booth we sat in had hand-hewn wooden bench seats which were pretty cool, and were comfortable despite my bony a**. Anyhoo, great gringo Mex and enjoyed with my beautiful wifey. I love how they give you two distinctly different complimentary salsas with your meal; one wicked hot, and one nice and mild for the tenderfoots. Pictures will tell the food story. And it was a good story...

Yelp
My wife and I were out doing chores driving to get groceries and we decided to eat before we shop... crusin down Trent and I said pull in here! Dos Amigos!! The place was empty... so we sat down anywhere .. the waiter tended to us promptly and brought out chips and salsa... the hot salsa was dynamite... heat that carried with a light lime flavor... it was hot.. some of the best salsa I've had... it was good... I decided to try a new avenue besides my usual enchilada dinner.... I had a burrito #9 on the menu it was huge. Covered in a sauce it was stuffed with ground beef and peppers sour cream beans on and on it was a great choice! I was so stuffed when we got to winco to shop I asked my wife if we could take a 15 minute power nap which actually turned into 30!! It was good food.. great little restaurant and the waiter was nice and food came quick .. I recommend this place!!

Yelp
While on vacation, from SLC, family brought us here to eat. The food was delicious. The restaurant was clean the staff was helpful & friendly. We can't wait to eat here when we're back in town.

Yelp
My google search for best Mexican food lead us here. Margarita was very large, good prices. Just Average. Carne asada plate, Chile rellano, rice beans. All good. Salsas were bland. Big portions, reasonable price. Restaurant very run down and cluttered.

Yelp
I absolutely love their shrimp and carne asada burrito and their cheese enchiladas. Pro tip: ask for a full size salsa to take home. Yum!
google avatar

Ronnie m.

Yelp
Love this place authentic Mexican food in northern idaho I had chilli relleno with rice and beans my wife had ground beef enchiladas with rice and beans Plus I had 2 asada tacos. They have mild and spicy salsa with chips. Great service too.

Yelp
Based on some of the reviews my wife and I decided to give Dos Amigos a try. I ordered the California Burrito and my wife ordered the Chicken & Rice Burrito. The California was very fresh tasting but it was a bit lacking in the amount of carne asada inside. I am told that the chicken and rice burrito was pretty good but nothing that knocked her socks off. Although a few other writers noted very good rice and beans I found them to be pretty standard and nothing out of the ordinary. The restaurant was clean and the service was good. No issues there. If we were in the area and had a hankering for Mexican food we would likely drop in to try other options on the menu. After this visit I would say overall this is a pretty standard, decent place to get your south of the boarder food fix. Just nothing special.

Yelp
Delicious Mexican Food. Wonderful Service and excellent cocktails Highly recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
This is my very favorite Mexican restaurant in Spokane. Easy to get to, on Trent Ave just west of Pines Rd. Best chips around, served with mild and hot salsas. I've never had a bad meal here in the years I've been eating here. Their carne asada tacos are fantastic, the taco salads too. Had the beef fajita salad last time I went (photo included here). I don't personally like guacamole, but an old girlfriend and my son who loved it say it's the best they've ever had, and they make it made fresh everyday. They also make their own chips as well, and for a little over $5 you can buy a large bag to go (no store bought chips for me these days). And don't forget rice and beans, simple but delicious.

Yelp
My wife and I came across this restaurant by chance. For the past few years, I have fell in love with the Ranchero Burrito. I will update this review and include pictures next time, but I thought it would be an injustice to wait any longer to give them a positive review! Whenever we are around this restaurant, I make excuses so we can go.

Lissa A.

Yelp
Delicious food! They always remember us, and we always feel welcome! Always clean and comfortable!
google avatar

Yelp
We went to this place with some friends, the food was good, the company was great. I tried a couple of the burritos, my wife had the Machaca burrito, and I had the Ranchero burrito. They were good, I just wished i had taken pictures of them. It might not look like much from the outside, but the food is worth it.

Yelp
This was my first time to Dos Amigos. This small restaurant sits right off the road and is very accessible for locals and travelers passing through on I-90. My immediate impression was that this was a hole-in-the-wall restaurant - the best kind! I was somewhat correct. This interior is full of Mexican decor, a few TVs, tables and booths on both sides of the restaurant. There is plenty of space here for large groups or parties. Service was so-so, but no complaints. Our server was exceptionally friendly and made us feel welcome. The food was outstanding. I had the California Burrito. Definitely more than one meal for me, but it was so good I plan to eat it for breakfast tomorrow. The carne asada, steak, veggies, sour cream, guacamole and cheese blended together to create an amazing taste. Next time passing through I'll be back for another burrito!

Yelp
With three weeks notice, we discovered that a large, out of town wedding would be held in our backyard with much fewer people. Food?, taco bar?...no brainer. We've always preferred Dos Amigos over national chains. They exceeded our expectations in every way. Try them for inside dining, family or group takeout. You will become fans and will recommend them to your friends.

Jason S.

Yelp
Usually, I'm a big fan of Dos Amigos. However, during a recent visit, I ordered the Dos Amigos burrito with chicken. The food came out within five minutes (sure sign of a simple scoop-and-microwave job), and the chicken was pretty disgusting, it tasted like canned sawdust. I'll give them another chance, but this last experience was very gross. And they still don't put liners in the chip baskets....

Yelp
Delicious. It's nice having a local Mexican restaurant that's so close and that we love so much. Staff is always friendly. Food is flavorful and the beans and rice are amazing.

Yelp
Great selection of items. Love the hot sauce. Prompt service and great with takeout orders

Yelp
We stopped in today around 11:30am for some lunch. My mother and I split an order of Fajitas and my husband had one of the combo meals with a chille relleno, taco and enchilada. The fajitas were good, the rice and beans were good and the salsa was great. The flour tortillas were amazing. My hubby said the chille relleno was good - his only complain is he wished there was more enchilada sauce on it. The taco looked great but I didn't get a chance to taste it lol. The portions are large - we brought home a container full of food for later. We have tried most of the Mexican places around and this place had some of the best salsa we have tasted and the food was good. We will definitely go back....this is one of our two top places for the moment :D

Yelp
I'm new to the area and have been on the hunt for good Mexican food. I really like this place. Service is super fast and the owner and all the staff are extremely nice.

Yelp
I love going to this place. My home away from home. Everytime i leave town for business nothing compares to it. The shrimp enchiladas and their special occasion Pupusas are amazing.

Yelp
Food -- okay; Ambiance -- spartan; Service -- not so good; very slow

Yelp
This is the absolute best place! The staff are always fast and super friendly and not to mention that the food is incredible! Highly recommended!

Yelp
This place was great. I had the Asada tacos. Service was fast and the food was yummy. They even brought a surprise dessert at the end!

Yelp
I happened upon Dos Amigos my accident trying to find a place to have lunch one day, and I was rewarded with authentic, delicious, Mexican food that I will gladly make a trip to the valley for. My roomie had a beef chimichanga with rice and beans, and since I didn't see chorizo burritos on the menu, I asked if it was available, and it was. I specifically requested chorizo with egg and cheese which is usually a breakfast burrito, but it was absolutely amazing. They make the chorizo on site, and it is the closest thing I've tasted to Mexico. The prices were reasonable and the horchata was amazing....there's nothing better on earth than a chorizo burrito with horchata to drink. Take the time to stop in when you're in the valley in the afternoon when it's a little slow, you won't regret it.

Yelp
My second favorite mexican restaurant in Spokane. Tons of seating, good prices, super friendly staff, and delicious food.

Darcy P.

Yelp
The service and salsa were very good, but the food was underwhelming. I had the relleno, cheese enchilada, taco combo. The enchilada sauce had no flavor and the refried beans had an odd metal flavor. My husband had the combo fajita and it came out on a regular plate looking more like the meats and veggies were stewed and also very little flavor.

Rob N.

Yelp
Food was excellent. Service was as well. One of the staff noticed that I was watching a baseball game across the room and asked if I wanted it switched to the tv that was easier to see. Thought it was cool. Prices are very fair as well. Yes, they were observing COVID regulations
google avatar

Yelp
We were driving through Spokane and had a hankering for Mexican. After searching and reading reviews, we chose Dos Amigos, and we are so glad we did. Food was absolutely delicious, service was fantastic, and prices were very reasonable. The tortillas tasted homemade. The portions were very large for the price, especially the burritos. One extra special thing was that they gave us each a free sopapilla. I thought that was a nice touch. If we are in the area again, we will stop by.
google avatar

Jynnika G.

Yelp
This has the best genuine Mexican food I've ever had. I've only gone here a few times, but I've never had a bad meal. This restaurant is family owned and all the people are really friendly, and are from San Diego (also where they get there Carne Asada). I recommend this for any Mexican food lover, 5/5!!
google avatar

Denis M.

Yelp
Juan is a great server really cool place is very nice inside. Food was absolutely delicious and came back a week later to try other food. Rice and beans were the best I have ever had. And the food was worth the money! Definitely recommend this place to everyone
google avatar

Matthew D.

Yelp
Normally I would give this place 5-stars hands down. The margaritas are amazing as always. I tired something different tonight. I had the shrimp enchiladas with Alfredo sauce. It was a nice change up from the normal burrito. The only negative thing I have to say about this fish is that the Alfredo sauce was a little strong for my taste. Still really good though, just wasn't for me.
google avatar

Jarred T.

Yelp
Most people when writing reviews for restaurants only consider the quality of food, unless it takes a long time to get the food, or the staff is unfriendly. As far as the food goes, the chimichanga was a little bit bland, but made for an incredible meal with the flavor of guacamole, and irresistible salsa. The service was EXTREMELY fast, and the man who served us gave us only his best.
google avatar

Ciara N.

Yelp
The food was okay. I had the Carne asada with shrimp. The steak was not as flavorful as I would have liked and it was very well done. It was pretty tough. The shrimp were good, nice and tender. The service was wonderful, they are very attentive and friendly. We were really surprised at the prices, a bit high considering. We ordered the horchata, it was not good. The corn tortillas were really good. I would try it again but order something different.

Yelp
My family moved here 2 years ago after growing up in Southern Ca and we are always on the lookout for good Mexican food. My family and I came here on a Saturday night and we were asked to seat ourselves. Shortly after we sat down we were promptly served chips and salsa and waters. And the server greeted us. Our food came out to our table so quickly I couldn't believe It! Our server was very friendly and was constantly keeping our water glasses full and asking how we were doing. Very attentive! The food came in pretty big portions and tasted good too. Very reasonable prices. It is a pretty unassuming location and atmosphere but our experience here was great! I even commented to my husband after we left that it was one of the best experiences we've had a a restaurant in a long time. Service, promptness and value was all great. We will def be back!

Leah M.

Yelp
Very good food! Friendly staff. Big portions. They even give you a little fried tortilla peice with sugar and cream on it for desert.

Renee B.

Yelp
We went to Dos Amigos last night for dinner. Loved the chips and salsa! You could tell it was homemade. "the salsa." I had the street tacos with beans and rice. The food was kind of bland no seasoning. My husband had the Dos Amigos burrito, it was huge. 'He had it with pork, didn't care for the pork all that much though.' The service was great! Loved the waitress. She was very sweet. The place was clean. Coming from New Mexico and funny to say, Illinois where we had great Mexican food. This was okay, maybe a bit better than some of the other places we tried around the Spokane area this is probably as good as it's going to get sadly just not really good Mexican food in the Northwest.
