14 Vital Breakfast and Brunch Destinations in Eugene, Oregon

"This hangover-curing alley cart opens at 11 a.m. Tuesday through Friday (and noon on Saturday) for those in need of a pick-me-up after a late night at the bars. Expect classics like breakfast tacos and burritos stuffed with hashbrowns, eggs, and cheese served all day long. It’s at the nexus of Eugene’s downtown bar scene, meaning you could theoretically grab something at midnight on Friday if you lacked the confidence to get out of bed the next morning." - Brenna Houck

Google
Visitor from LA says this place is very authentic . Taco plate was great.

shinytentacruel

Google
It's not my favorite burrito spot, but I wouldn't hesitate to go back. Salsas were on the spicier side, which was nice for me. Service was quick for my small order. Burritos are served with chips, as others have pictured.

Jorge Alvarado

Google
They always seem to be closed. Their hours on Google are not correct. I enjoy their burritos a lot but I get frustrated I cannot ever seem to catch them when they're open.

Brittany Quesada

Google
Hidden little gem, but best freaking burrito stand in town. You will not be disappointed. So amazing. Check their hours, though they are different than standard business hours

Travis “Cobra” D

Google
Great place to get a late night meal. Awesome fresh made Mexican food. Lots of choices from burritos to tacos and so many other things. Sodas to wet your whistle or visit Luckyeys bar right next door for some beer or a cocktail. Fast service unless you hit the late night rush. All in all one of my favorite spots. Take it home or eat at one of the tables provided.

Poe Ghost (PoeTheGhost)

Google
My usual spot was closed for the holidays, and I'd heard good things, so I stopped by here instead. Pork burrito sans the pico, came with chips and a smooth red salsa. Will definitely be back, it's worth the extra walk.

Yongmin Park

Google
So great for late night food. Filling my stomach after dancing.

travis zuiderweg

Google
I ordered a pork burrito but what I received was so full of jalapeños that you couldn’t even taste the cat hair that I pulled from my mouth after my first bite. After dissection of the burrito multiple hairs that seem to be cat or other fine haired animal were found through out . Worst burrito I have ever tasted and that was before I realized there was a small woodland creatures worth of hair residing inside. I can see why they have to be located near a bar because you better be so drunk you can’t think in order to enjoy this slop. RUN AWAY!!!!!

Yelp
Official rating: 4.4 if I could be more precise. I love the burritos here. Occasionally it can be extremely greasy but more frequently it is a very good breakfast burrito. Today was one of those days where it was terrific. I had a carne asada breakfast burrito for $10. Both salsas red and green were pretty spicy for me but tasty. Always get some chips with your meal. Perfect meal to end a late night. They used to be cash only but now accept cards. Pros: - delicious breakfast burrito - spicy salsa - good hour coverage. In the middle of bars so it opens late Cons: - sometimes burritos can be greasy

Yelp
Tried the horchata, burrito, and quesadilla and liked them all too. Appreciate that they're open late on Friday & Saturday. Wish they were open past 6p on other nights too. Yum.

Yelp
Best Mexican food in OR so far. (It would even stand out as good in CA for the freshness of the ingredients and tasty salsa verde,) Important Tip: it's NOT on Broadway as Yelp, and Google maps, seem to think! It's next to Lucky's Club in the 900 block of Olive, around the corner from Broadway. There wasn't even a sign on the truck on the street side, so look for Lucky's next door. I had chicken and veggie tacos. Right off the grill and did I say Fresh?

Araceli G.

Yelp
The food is delicious is super delicious. The salsa is good. The place is clean and the service is wonderful I really really recommend display because the lady is so sweet and her food the tortas the tacos is delicious.

Blaze L.

Yelp
I have been a customer here since 2016 and I must say, I'm very disappointed in this food truck. For allergy reasons I asked what cheese was contained in my burrito and was told cheddar however that was not what I received rendering my breakfast burrito inedible due to dietary needs. Also, the menu lists the hash browns as being crispy but they were soggy and not crisped at all. The only crunchy thing in that catastrophe was the undercooked onions. You guys used to be, in my opinion, amongst the better quick Mexican eats in Eugene but now I would rather eat Taco Bell.

Yelp
I used to be a fan. Best green sauce in town. Unfortunately that's the only positive thing I can say. Its way over priced now, especially considering they buy all their ingredients at winco. They cook their beans and rice a couple times a week and then just serve them reheated throughout the week. No biggie, most places probably do the same, but about 1 out of every 5 burritos I've ordered there the beans and/or rice were still refrigerator cold in the middle. WARNING despite what the owners have told people since they opened, their veggie menu items are actually NOT vegetarian. Their rice is cooked with Knorr's chicken bouillon cubes which contain chicken, beef and dairy. No substitutions allowed. (If you are looking for v3gan Mexican food in Eugene check my other reviews)

Yelp
Yumm!!!! Came here Friday night with friends before hitting the bars and loved their veggie burrito! It was a lot larger than I imagined and my friend got the quesadilla which came with gauc and sour cream used that to dip my chips in. Will def be coming back here some night. Second visit: came here and got the vegetarian quesadilla and it was soo bomb!!! And very filling I was surprised I almost didn't finish it and I can eat a lot!!

Yelp
Best tacos. Reasonable price. Always friendly. They do great work! Thank you dos banderas *accepts cash only

Yelp
What the....What the hell? What in the hell is that insanely delectable smell!?!?! This is what I was saying when we went to Luckeys Club to play some pool on Friday night. When we were done shooting some stick, I still had the smell of delicious BBQ steak all up in my nose. I was pretty happy since I was in need of food and this was conveniently tucked in the alley between Luckeys Club and The Davis. Let's get to it....This was one of the best burritos I've had since I moved to Eugene. That's a task that would seem pretty basic, yet is still hard to come by in an area that's lacking great Mexican eats. I don't remember if the burrito was $5 or $9 (thanks a LOT Jameson!), but it was worth every penny and each bite was a sad one when thinking that this was going to eventually come to an end. I had a tear in my eye on the last 2 bites....*sniffle*....they could have been tears of joy I guess? The real winner in the burrito was the steak. It wasn't full of fat, and the taste was what grilled carne asada should be! Of course the hot sauces that were provided were delicious, but they weren't needed. These guys are open till 3AM!!!!!!!!!

Adam J.

Yelp
Went there for lunch today. I ordered pork tacos. They came out in 2-3 minutes and the staff was very friendly. The location is really convenient and there are picnic tables to sit at while you wait. The tacos came with onions, cilantro, marinated pork, and radishes. The food was fresh and tasted delicious. I would totally come here again, though it is not the best value in a tacqueria. A little spendy for what it is.
google avatar

Olivia M.

Yelp
I came here because I had been told many times that the tacos were the best in EUG. I was sadly disappointed. The tacos were just 'ok' there wasn't anything special about them and they were very bland. They do give you a good amount of meat on the taco, but considering how flavorless the meat was and dry, it wasn't necessarily the best. For tacos, it was a bit pricey. If you're in the area looking for tacos, I'd recommend Morelos instead. My customer service was good, not great, but my food was just 'ok'.

The D.

Yelp
Pretty good tacos! I had 2 adovado pork tacos. They came on corn tortillas with cilantro and onions, radishes, and limes. The meat was flovorful and just spicy enough. The price wasn't a bargain, but still not bad at 3.25 each. The presentation was decent and food quality was fresh and pretty good! The service was excellent. If it was a bit cheaper, I'd give 5 stars all day long, but still, 4 out of 5, would definitely eat here again!
google avatar

Anthony S.

Yelp
It's alright for a late night spot, but definitely nothing to brag about! I'm sure it's fine for drunk college kids or small town people who aren't exposed to much culture, but it's way over priced for a mediocre product! They even messed up my order and didn't honor it! If it was a $5 burrito it'd be fine, but $8-$12 for mediocre ingredients... who the hell do they think they are?
google avatar

Carmen T.

Yelp
Very very disappointed in the food and the service. I ordered chicken tacos and my partner ordered a chicken burrito. I don't know how it's possible to mess up chicken, but I only took one bite and that's all I could stomach. I ended up giving my other taco to a homeless person. My girlfriend took a few bites of the burrito and gave that away also. The guy taking our order didn't even give us eye contact, and did not seem interested in being at work that night. This is not authentic Mexican food. The chicken tastes like charcoal and the cook looks really dirty. I would never give them my business again, and I hope you don't either.
google avatar

Avieta K.

Yelp
This place is just okay, their meat is very dry and their sauces are a bit bland just spice. Besides that it is affordable and very close by to my apartment so I go here often for the tacos
google avatar

Amanda E.

Yelp
Authenic Mexican cuisine. Very friendly service. I ordered the chicken torta. Delicious!
google avatar

James H.

Yelp
Hands down, the BEST authentic Mexican food in town. And yes, I have traveled to lots of places in Mexico. Extremely friendly people, and on a Friday/Saturday night, no better food late at night.....or any time for that matter! Cash only, but WELL WORTH IT!

L. R.

Yelp
Good food, quick service. They have odd hours, but they were open late when we needed Mexican food. Bean and cheese burrito and chicken quesadilla were both quality. I'm gonna leave you hanging for the rest of this review.
google avatar

Matt K.

Yelp
Best tacos and burritos in Eugene. Located between The Davis and Luckey's, Dos Banderas are quick, tasty, and affordable. Great people too! The only delta, they're cash only. Just a heads up.
google avatar

Becks W.

Yelp
Excellent food with super friendly service. They even accommodated my special request

Yelp
The large carne asada burrito that I had was good - not great. It cost $9 which is way too much for a burrito of this caliber. Mind you, I grew up on foil-wrapped burritos from San Francisco's Mission District, so my expectations are probably a bit higher than the average Eugene burrito reviewer on Yelp. Even still, I can get a far superior carne asada burrito from taco trucks in Olympia, WA and they only cost $5. If you've experienced authentic Mission-style burritos before, you will probably want to pass on this taco stand in Eugene. It was definitely a disappointment for this SF burrito boy. However, if you grew up only knowing Taco Bell and Del Taco, definitely give it a try. It will blow either of those away.

Yelp
Find yourself stuck in unseasoned ol Eugene, OR craving the best burrito you've ever had in your life? Look no further- Dos Baderas has got you covered. I first was brought here the night of my 21st birthday, so of course I credited the deliciousness of my first carne asada burrito to the excessive vodka consumed that night. Man, was I wrong. Every time I've ate here since, they flavors seasoned into the meat, rice & beans blows my mind. I must warn you, I have cried real tears eating their green sauce. That stuff is HOT! The only reason this fabulous little food cart is missing the last of the five stars is that I have asked them every time (as a recommendation of friends) to have the green sauce rolled into my burrito & I have yet to experience this magicalness. Other than that, I drove by once at 12 am on a Thursday expecting to get a mouthwatering burrito after work only to find them closed, but any reasonable patron should be prepared for that with such a small & local cart. If you've yet to experience the amazing food cooked up at Dos Banderos, wait no longer! Go get yours now- seriously. This stuff is amazing & no other burrito in eugene compares.

Yelp
This one time, I smelled something downtown... The best burritos I've had in Eugene came from here. No, it's not because whenever I eat here I am fresh from the bars and drunk and starving. I actually go here when I'm sober, during the daytime and all. The carne asada is so amazing and it makes anything I get it on taste out of this world. The smell of it wafts around the neighborhood and beckons you like a siren. The breakfast burrito is awesome, I have tried to replicate it at home and fail every time. The simplicity of their tacos is refreshing. The hot sauces they have are all excellent. They have coke in a glass BOTTLE! Burrito Boy and Mucho Gusto are good but this place is playing a different game . You are being cruel to yourself if you like Mexican food, are in Eugene and have not tried this place. Now, why would you do that to yourself? Why.... Is it too heavy to think about? Well you could always just go here and eat and move on with your life.
google avatar

Alex B.

Yelp
This is one of the best places in downtown Eugene to get really late-night food. The burritos were a-ok, the sauce is really where this place shines though. The serving size is insane and for the price, who can complain?
google avatar

Seth C.

Yelp
Nothin but a bunch of meh...service was indifferent and the food was sub par. My Tortilla wasn't even warmed up for my burrito. The whole thing was hardly even warm. There was nothing special about this food at all. Very basic. Not awful, just disappointing.
google avatar

Andrew C.

Yelp
It's just a little food cart next to the bars downtown, but it's got some of the best mexican food in Eugene! They have a few chairs and tables if you want to sit down too.
google avatar

David E.

Yelp
We tried their carne asada burritos, and they were delicious. The small one was big enough to satisfy our hunger.
google avatar

Kiley W.

Yelp
Ohhh so goooooood! I love tacos and this place has fantastic tacos. I got a chicken taco and a lengua (cow's tongue) taco and both were fantastic. They are open super late and are prime picking for all the drunkards out and about at one a.m. The food will still be good if haven't had anything to drink too.

Lita P.

Yelp
Best carne asada at any Mexican cart in Eugene, HANDS DOWN. Any time I'm within 30 feet of this cart, my mouth begins to water. I work downtown, so this little place is my favorite Mexican food spot in the immediate area. My go-to is usually their carne asada burrito, which I believe is around $8.00. I rarely can finish the entire thing in one sitting...I usually eat half and save half for later. If I want something lighter I get their taco salad which comes in a big square styro container. Again, the proportion here is so generous that I always have leftovers. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is that their hours can be a bit odd and difficult to remember, and they accept cash only. I totally understand that operating on a cash basis is easier and cheaper for the business, but being able to accept debit/credit would be a great convenience to their customers. There have been many times I would have stopped, but didn't want to have to bother with an ATM machine.
google avatar

Harry S.

Yelp
OPEN LATE! Extremely nice people, best burrito in town with fresh chips! Seriously worth trying!
google avatar

Antonio O.

Yelp
Best Mexican food cart in Eugene. Breakfast burritos all day and night. Cash only, but plenty of ATMs nearby. Authentic street tacos too. They may close whenever they feel like, but that makes getting there when they are open all the more rewarding.
google avatar

Samantha S.

Yelp
Simple menu, reasonable prices, and quickly made for a nice lunch down the street from the law firm I work at. I would definitely recommend it. Their hours are good (10:30am - 3am) for anyone looking for a lunch during your daily grind, or a tasty treat in an inebriated state later at night. The only downside: the smoker they use to cook their carne asada steak has a potent smell and the potential for lots of smoke. When I've gone at lunch and decided to eat at their tables, sometimes the smell is too strong for me when they're cooking their meat.
google avatar

Kate S.

Yelp
Excellent breakfast burritos! Large burritos. Beans have a delicious smoky flavor. A must downtown, way better than the other burrito joints

Ari D.

Yelp
Here are the best tacos I've had in Eugene, and that's not just the Barmuda talking. Five bucks gets you a kickass burrito and a handful of chips or a taco and soup. I've only had the adobada and pollo but am told that the carne asada is also excellent. The lady who works in the late afternoon is friendly and will put your sauce(s) inside your burrito and or in a Solo cup to go and never minds that I want all three. The orange sauce burns like a mofo, just like it should. Edit: You can find it on Olive Street between Luckey's and The Davis.
google avatar

Arthur L.

Yelp
Best burritos in Eugene. Seriously. The bean and cheese burrito is delicious and their more complex burritos are even better. They offer two sizes on most things and the larger size is difficult to eat in one sitting. They have free chips, amazing sauces and are extremely nice people. Another plus is that from Thursday-Saturday they are open until 3am!
google avatar

billy r.

Yelp
Waaaaaay too expensive. The food is tasty but does not come close to being a good value. It's is a freaking food stand charging sit down restaurant prices. $10 for a burrito. I'll pass. It's a bit of a shame as the food is good, just not $10 for a burrito good.
google avatar

Shari C.

Yelp
The quality of Mexican food can be determined by the simple carne asada taco. I ordered three, took one bite, and threw them all away. It tasted like some unidentifiable chemical had permeated the meat. The worst taco I have ever sampled.
google avatar

Josh A.

Yelp
Coming from a city where legit Mexican taco trucks are a dime a dozen, this place is solid. While they don't offer cabeza, lengua, or cachete, their other options are good. Very filling and relatively cheap. Green sauce means go!
google avatar

Nate O.

Yelp
Really nice people serving really tasty burritos. Cash only, $7. Meats are smoky and amazing. Super satisfying all-around.
google avatar

Mike P.

Yelp
Solid mexican joint where everything is smoked. The taco looks like most others on sight: grilled meat chopped up, two tortillas stacked, cilantro and (grilled) onions on top. But the meat is (almost?) all smoked. So the flavor is fairly unique. As a Texan, I find combining tacos and smoked meat to be a great idea. For the more robust meats, it works well, but for chicken the smoke flavor is actually a bit overpowering. Not a huge complaint. The chicken tortilla soup is the real deal, probably the highlight.
google avatar

John A.

Yelp
I work downtown and eat here probably 3 times a week (if not more...) Great food, fast, and inexpensive. Highly recommended if you're downtown.

Ryan B.

Yelp
Nice guys, good ingredients, but horribly inauthentic. They are clearly catering to the chipotle crowd. If you like divey Mexican taquerias, stay away.
google avatar

Nick Y.

Yelp
I love the steak tacos at this place. Freaking phenomenal. Their burritos are gigantic and cheap, but delicious. They are open super late as well. Great as a late night, after the bar, cap off. Def a great place to grab a quick bite, or a good sized meal.
google avatar

Erin G.

Yelp
Growing up in California I developed a craving for curbside Mexican food. I like that they smoke their meats however, it comes with a price. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw a $10.00 burrito on the menu. The deal is that they get a steady stream of intoxicated customers that aren't thinking about price. I hope someone challenges them for their business soon.
google avatar

Aaron R.

Yelp
This place is a gem in downtown Eugene. Get the taco salad. With carne asada and bacon. Just do it and thank me later. Or get a burrito. Or some tacos to go. Everything yummy, for an excellent excellent price, and from good guys who work really hard... but leave your cards at home. It's cash only, folks... and don't expect it to be open all the time. Should be good evenings, though.
google avatar

David P.

Yelp
So in all fairness, I have been a little inebriated when I've eaten at this taco shop BUT it has been absolutely delicious every single time. The asada tacos and quesadilla are delicious. Also, their green sauce is the best I've ever had.

Anuraj C.

Yelp
Best Mexican food cart in town. Chicken bacon burrito is best bang for your buck. Green sauce on everything
google avatar

J P.

Yelp
Best food best burritos love everything. Some prices could be better over all love the breakfest burritos after leaving the bar at 1am haha.
