Walked in and waited at the door for 5 minutes before even being approached by a worker. He told us we could go upstairs if we wanted (we didn't know there was an upstairs). So we went up and got seated. The ambiance is very nice and decorated. Our server didn't come up until way later but he said there was a miscommunication between servers so no big deal. He was very kind and made us feel welcome, but food and drinks did take a long time to come out, despite the restaurant being really empty at the time we were there. And we plowed through our chips (which were a tad over salted) given we were hungry and he never checked on us for a refill until our food was out. Salsa was great though!
We ordered and split the chicken fajitas, and a chili con queso appetizer, which came with a plate of rice, beans, sour cream, lettuce, cheese, and pico. Starting with the positives: that fajita chicken is some of the best I've ever had. Juicy and flavorful- it's a cut up breast. The onions were nice and seasoned/caramelized. Queso was good. However, the tortillas were a bit hard. The beans were way too seasoned. I don't know how to describe it but it was just too much spice and not even in a hot/spicy way just overwhelming mix of flavors. The rice was also very salty.
If you came here thinking it was going to taste like your local authentic Mexican, it's not. There's so many flavors, which is a good thing, until they go overboard and add too much of it or over-salt.
I'm not completely dissatisfied with our visit. It was our anniversary so I did have high expectations for the night, but I wouldn't come back or recommend it to a friend, given the price point ($27 for fajitas and $8 for that small bowl of queso)
