Dos Caminos

Nothing to write home about. Expensive food and Expensive drinks but nothing absolutely stood out other than the size of and great tasting guac! Extremely busy especially during normal dinner hours. We were one of the lucky ones to get seated right away without having reservations. They do have a basement with equally as much, if not more seating than the main floor. It's what you would expect overall. Definitely nothing crazy. You're mid Mexican flavors and Experience.

Absolutely loved this spot! We dined downstairs and it was a nice vibe. The staff was friendly and our server was great. Loved the Queso Blanco with Chorizo. I loved how spicy it was and the Birria Tacos were on yummy and super filling! Plus the Cadillac and Great Escape margaritas were on point.

Shout out to Oscar our server ! He was fabulous and our meal was delicious. Food was prepared perfectly and came out really fast. We were staying at the W and the location was easy for us and we weren't dissapointed . Thank you!!!

So SO GOOD. We ate downstairs which was way more spacious than I was expecting. It was too much food. But it was all so good. We had the nachos appetizer, follwed by birria tacos, cornbread, street corn, seafood enchiladas, and fries. We left so very full and it was all so excellent. Will definitely return if I can.

We had an excellent meal at Dos Caminos! We got reservations so we were able to walk right in. We were grabbing dinner before our show. The queso and guac were the perfect appetizers! And the Avocado Ceaser salad was seriously amazing - a great and delicious twist on a classic salad. We also shared the chicken fajitas, highly recommend! And don’t skip the churros for dessert! We loved all the food at Dos Caminos and Dee was an amazing server. We had a great meal and great experience!

I had a phenomenal experience. The birria tacos that came with a side of rice and beans. I also had the chips with fresh salsa and guacamole. The guacamole was so good my friend was scraping every last bit out of the bowl. 😂 Everything about it was amazing the food the decor the staff. Would definitely come here again.

Wonderful restaurant in the heart of Times Square. If you sit upstairs or in the bar, you can see all the happenings in Times Square. The food is amazing!

LOL Went here for a big work corp dinner and i was weirdly into the food the chips were yummy and not too salty which is honestly HUGE the rice and beans were like rlly good to me quesadilla totally sufficient the only thing was the churros were eh (kind of stale? Idk) Don't rlly know what my standards for a cavernous mexican restaurant in times square wld be but idk i was into it (Also inclined to like more bc it was free)

Great place as an option before or after a show. Delicious food - chips, salsa, and shrimp quesadillas was a nice portion to share. The drinks didn't disappoint either. Will be back when I'm in the area for sure!

This was my first time here in a while, I was pleasantly surprised to see some new menu items! We had a 5:30PM reservation since we were seeing a show at 7. The service was super fast and we had plenty of time to get to the show. I had a spicy margarita with tajin on the rim. It was perfect! We shared the guac and queso. Both were good, but I liked the guac a tad more. I had the camarones alambres, which is an appetizer but was definitely enough for a meal after filling up on chips :) It was SO GOOD! If you like bacon wrapped shrimp, you have to try this dish. It's the best I've ever had. Overall, I love this spot for pre-theater dining. They also do happy hour 3-6 in the bar area!

I fully thought I was going to give a 3/4, because it's on Times Square & is part of a chain... but it was much better than expected. Even though it is on Times Square, it had a nice atmosphere and they sat us downstairs so it wasn't loud or crazy. Our server greeted us immediately and we all ordered the Organic Margaritas -basically a classic/skinny margarita- sooo tasty!! We started off with guacamole, queso and salsa- very good & nice portions. Our server recommended the steak fajitas... so the guys both ordered that. My friend & I split a combo of shrimp & steak fajitas. The shrimp were good, but the steak was delicious- cooked very well & had great flavor! It was definitely a Mexican decorated, on Times Square restaurant, but- I would go back & get an Organic Margarita & steak fajitas!! And, our server- Delphin made our night even better! He did a great job with recommendations and was very friendly! Great experience!

Directly in the heart of Times Square Dos Caminos is a crazy busy spot, but we were lucky to jump in later in the night when the line wasn't too crazy long. It's a pretty classic Mexican style restaurant with enough options there is something for all the people in your group. Our waiter was very attentive as he was closing out other tables and getting orders from others. Of course, every good meal begins with chips and salsa; this was no different. The birria tacos were very good, but very messy. Unfortunately, they were pretty greasy and it got all over, be sure to grab extra napkins if you get these. Overall, I think it's a solid spot and for a late night or pre-Broadway meal, it was a good option.

Cesar was the best and the food was great! 10/10 recommend!!!! Get the guacamole and queso, maybe with a margarita or two!

Service and food was fantastic!! And the people watching in Times Square. It doesn't get much better.

Came here after a Broadway show for dinner. This is the third Dos Caminos I have been to! It's been a minute since my last visit but it's just as good, if not better than I remember. We had a reservation but got there a bit early so we waited a few minutes to be seated. We were seated in their downstairs, which was very spacious. Since I'm still participating in Dry January, I ordered a virgin mojito ($6). My friend got a house margarita on the rocks. For our entrees, she ordered chicken enchiladas and I stuck with a carne asada quesadilla. We normally always order churros when we go to a Mexican spot so naturally we did ($11). The caramel sauce was HEAVEN. I honestly think I would come back just for dessert!

The serving sizes and flavors of the food were above my expectations. Pricing was fair. I enjoyed everything we ordered thoroughly and it was made quickly with fresh quality ingredients. The service was okay. The bussing staff was more attentive than the server. The ambiance was nice. Majority of seating was downstairs. I would go back.

My two pals and I came here for dinner before catching a late comedy show. What made Dos Caminos a poor experience was our waiter. I don't know who told him to work in hospitality but it was bad advice. He didn't even say hi or ask what we wanted. He just stood by our table and kind of mimed it. If the food had been good then I'd definitely give more stars but it was overpriced and not my idea of delish. Adios, Dos Caminos

The ambiance was great and drinks were outstanding! The service could have been better since we had to keep calling over our server.

The food was pedestrian, which is sort of what I expected when I ordered Mexican food in Manhattan. What I didn't expect was the horrific service. We ordered water and it didn't arrive. A guy came out and asked us if we wanted water, and we said yes. Then another guy came out and asked "Waiting on the water? " A FOURTH guy came out and said "Tap water, right?" before the water finally showed up. Our server got one entree completely wrong. Wait. There's more. He forgot my entrée completely. Also, I ordered an espresso martini and it took 20 minutes to get it IN A NEARLY EMPTY RESTAURANT. This espresso martini was expensive, and it was small, but at least it tasted good. My companion's strawberry margarita was very chunky and hard to drink. The guacamole was brown. Oh yeah. The water was room temp. This restaurant is a "must visit" if you like crappy service and crappy food.

I had the Mole Short Ribs, which was very tender but the mole flavor was on the weaker side. I wish it was more pronounced. The sides that came with it (rice and tomato pico) were good complements. No complimentary chips just a note.

My food a burrito with beef was essentially tasteless Paid way too much for guacamole a small It was during happy hour and of course they don't honor happy hour prices for beer or wine if you are going to spend more by sitting and eating in the dining area! Even early in the evening they were already out of some of the wine selections Espresso machine did not work so there goes that Service was okay but why does the server have to pay for policies ( such as no happy hour prices if you don't sit at the bar) and poor food The only way to leave a me

We had a great time at Dos Caminos! We had a Knowledgeable and helpful server. He was kind and attentive we didn't have to ask for anything and gave great recommendations. The food was beyond our expectations. I had the large tortilla soup and it did not disappoint and gave great value. The restaurant was well thought out and very cute! Definitely worth checking out!

Came here for dinner tonight because it was close to our hotel where we were staying. Nice spot for great Mexican food. The queso and chips were great, I loved the pieces of veggies in the queso. We had the birria tacos and fish tacos. They were both amazing! Worth a try if you're looking for Mexican food in the area. Waitress was attentive and gave us great service.

I recently had the opportunity to visit Dos Camino, located on the first floor of the W Hotel in Times Square. As someone who frequents the hotel during my visits to New York, I had been anticipating this dining experience. Upon entering the restaurant, I was immediately struck by the lively and vibrant atmosphere that is characteristic of the area. The energy was contagious, and I felt welcomed right away. Opting to sit at the bar, I was promptly greeted by the friendly bartenders, which was a nice touch. I decided to try their watermelon margarita, and I must say, it was a delightful choice. While the drink leaned more towards a liquor-forward taste rather than a pronounced watermelon flavor, it was still really good. In fact, I enjoyed it so much that I returned the next day with my brother to have another one, which speaks to its appeal. For my main course, I ordered the steak fajita. While it was decent, I felt that the steak could have been more seasoned. Having lived in Texas for a considerable amount of time, I have had the pleasure of tasting some exceptional Tex-Mex cuisine, and I found Dos Camino's steak to be lacking in seasoning compared to my previous experiences. However, I must commend the restaurant on the freshness of the side items and accompaniments, as they were all prepared as ordered. I also had the opportunity to try their chips and salsa, which I found to be very enjoyable. The salsa had a pleasant spicy kick to it, and I appreciated the fact that it had more of a sauce-like consistency rather than being solely composed of fresh, chopped ingredients. It was a delicious accompaniment to the meal, and I would highly recommend it. In summary, Dos Camino in Times Square provides a lively and welcoming dining experience. While the steak fajita could have been more seasoned to meet my Tex-Mex expectations, the overall quality of the food was good. The watermelon margarita was a standout, and the chips and salsa were a delightful addition to the meal. If you find yourself in the area and are looking for a restaurant that captures the energetic vibe of Times Square, Dos Camino is worth considering.

A friend and I came here before seeing a comedy show in Times Square. It was a quick decision and luckily we were able to be seated right away. The restaurant is two floors so it can accommodate more guests than it appears to on first sight. We loved everything we had from the drinks, to appetizers and the main course. The menu has so many delicious options that we had a hard time deciding and opted to get 1 appetizer to share (the Tex mex queso dip) and each ordered a main that we then halved and shared, the Pancita Al Pastor tacos and skillet chimichanga. We had leftover queso from our appetizer and we dipped the skillet chimichanga in it which took it from great to perfection. The Pancita tacos were full of flavor, a little messy, but is a taco even good if it's not messy?! It had the perfect combination of lush savory fat and acid which balanced wonderfully and made a great taco.

We were here for breakfast as we were staying at the W NYC upstairs, this was a Saturday morning and there was a short wait for a table as two large groups were already dining and another just seated. The host was very communicative and apologized for the wait. It wasn't a problem for us. He was quite friendly and sociable. I ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes, which were ginormous and my kids helped me eat them. Both my kids ordered the breakfast quesadillas which had scrambled eggs, bacon, cheese, and salsa. They were also huge, made with burrito sized tortillas which were amazingly crispy from being seared on the griddle - yum - and were topped with crema and some hot sauce. I got to eat some of theirs too and really liked it. I did salt the eggs though too. My son had a strawberry banana smoothie which he said was very good and it arrived pretty quickly. Because of its location, the restaurant was pretty busy and fairly loud. You can make reservations on Open Table to avoid a wait. Here's an exterior view - kind of.

Ate here for lunch on Christmas Day. Customer service wasn't the best. I entered and sat at the bar. I wasn't greeted nor felt welcomed but I guess that's on par given the city. The bartender was however, keeping conversation with the couple next to me. I ordered a Frose but was informed they didn't have the ingredients for it that day. I settled for a frozen strawberry margarita instead. I received a standard pre-fixed frozen margarita with strawberry syrup just spread around the glass. I knew I didn't need to order a second after that. For my entree I decided on the carne asada quesadillas. I specifically asked for no pico, no guacamole & a side of sour cream. After repeating my order for the second time the bartender, clearly annoyed, let me know everything came on the side. My food comes. I see it isn't enough sour cream and I ask the bartender again for a side of sour cream. He makes a face. So I mention if I need to pay for it I can with cash (I had already provided my card to close out my tab) he clarifies that it isn't the price that's an issue but he'd rather not have to "run back to the kitchen" for the sour cream. The young man next to me closes his tab and pays with cash. The same bartender makes a face and shakes his head when he notices he isn't satisfied with the tip he received. So noticeable that the young man asks if something is wrong and then proceeds to leave more cash. They were speaking Spanish but I could make out that he was telling the patron that the tip was not already included in the tab. It was an honest mistake but the bartender could take a lesson or two in decorum. We get it, it's Christmas and the service you're providing or the service we at least expect to receive is appreciated but working on Christmas was a choice. Idk .. maybe reconsider next time. The quality of my food was great. The quesadilla was flavorful and filling. I could only finish half and looked forward to taking my leftovers. I'd return for take-out.

Went here with the bf and could honestly say that this spot was pretty good for their Mexican food. The mild, medium and spicy sauces came well with the corn chips. I ordered the chicken fajita that came with rice, beans, guac and some corn tortillas. I loved how you can make your own tacos from your own dish and vary it how you want it. Service was pretty attentive to us and answered any question in regards to the menu. Ambiance can get pretty lively here especially in the heart of Times Square so make sure to have a reservation just in case. I would give this spot 8 or 9 out of 10 :)

This location felt like a tiny breather from the time square crazy. We came in on Christmas Day for a quick drink and light bite. Without reservation we were seated right away downstairs. Our server was nice but very busy! Guac and chips was decent, a bit pricy.

This was our first stop in the city! Two words - BOTTOMLESS BRUNCH. You can drink as many drinks in 90 minutes as you can - which for me was apparently not a lot. The bloody Mary's are a little too thick, so quickly switched to the mimosas. You can choose from any of these drinks: UNLIMITED FROZEN MARGARITAS BLOODY MARYS MIMOSAS SCREWDRIVERS SPARKLING WINE The CHILAQUILES VERDES was DELICIOUS. Big fan, will get again! We used the side revolving door and sat at the bar for quick service. We did notice they were telling people to use the other door or walk through the bar area for table service, so the door set up is a little confusing. I didn't realize this was a chain until after we left, they didn't have the same "chain ambiance" that most places do. Excited to learn they will be opening one in Charlotte, hopefully in time for our visit there!

This place is very creative when it comes to the term hidden in plain sight. Walking inside, all you see is a short bar and a few tables. But the true secret to this place lies below. When you first walk in, you will see a very short bar. Walk to the right and down the flight of stairs... welcome to one of the best kept secrets of Time Square. Where locals can come to escape the mobs of tourists. Coming down the stairs you are greeted by a friendly bartender named Jenn who is also a foodie and has great recommendations when it comes to food and drinks. Service A+ The El Camino margarita is perfection in a glass. Made with fresh lime juice and made perfectly, you don't have to give any special instructions. It is perfect the way it comes. 10/10 I have had a lot of short ribs in my life and their "Mole Short Ribs" are among the good ones. Cooked to perfection, they taste amazing. 10/10 I never thought I would ever say this in my life but I look forward to coming back to Time Square... dealing with all the tourists... just to come back to this hidden gem. We stayed at the W Times Square and had vouchers for continental breakfast here. The service is pretty good and the continental breakfast is t bad. We were more hungry than a continental breakfast and ordered a bacon and egg plate. The portions were generous and flavorful.

Walked in for Tuesday dinner and there were plenty of seats. They placed us downstairs. They had a special course but we ordered off the regular menu. We got an espresso martini and paloma. Both were good. I got the salmon, which was an average-tasting dish. Server was nice.

We dined here the day before Thanksgiving, so a little late here! We came before the Billy Joel concert at MSG and the city was just packed with travelers, plus, the 7 train was down. We were a bit late for our reservation and the restaurant was absolutely full, but they still managed to squeeze us in very quickly! The 3 of us were in a huge rush but luckily, they sat us fast, served great margaritas, and our food came out even quicker. The tacos are all amazing, as are the fajitas. Perfectly seasoned meat and always the freshest guac and pico. I always love coming to this restaurant for a drink and a few tacos, but the service is great at all of them! Authentic styled restaurant that's isn't too expensive for the city. One thing that I wish this location had on the menu is the shareable plate of tacos, Tour De Tacos that they have at the one in Soho!

Ashley was amazing and so attentive. She was the highlight of our experience! Drinks were great and the food was as expected Weekend brunch is encouraged!

Not only was the food AMAZING, but the service was off the chart. Our waiter Winston Rollins was the best thing about the restaurant. He was fun and attentive and had a good time with our table.

Now that I've lived in Texas for so long it's been hard to find some really good Mexican food outside of my home state. The fajita had good flavor but you only get 4 pieces of shrimp, which isn't enough to make more than one taco. The quantity wasn't enough to justify paying $35 for the combo. I gave 3 stars for two reasons. I didn't like that you could only take advantage of happy hour at the bar counter. The bar area is small only fit like 8 people so there was no where to sit there to have the drink. I tried to get my boyfriend to go to the bar to order the drink and bring it back The bartender would not serve it to him because he basically wasn't sitting at the bar with her. That's a little ridiculous. The other reason was because our server kept forgetting to bring what we asked him for. We had to ask 3 times for the shredded cheese. I also had asked for corn tortilla and they brought me flour.

Drinks were so good. Wait staff was kind of slow but food was decent. It's close to the theatres which is very convenient.

My mom and I have been to Dos Caminos several times. It has a great location right in Times Square on a corner. We have always eaten downstairs which you can either take the stairs down to or take an elevator. The food has always been really good and honestly comes out pretty quickly after ordering! We got the salsa trio which had three different salsas varying in spiciness. I can't really handle spice so it hurt my tongue but for someone who likes spice, they would have enjoyed the variety. We also ordered the house margaritas and were feeling it after two! My mom ordered the plátanos which is good as an appetizer or as a dessert and we each got the barbecue chicken quesadilla which was super tasty and was served with guacamole, rice and beans on the side. If you're looking for good quality Mexican food and are somewhat on a time crunch, dos caminos is the place for you! The only thing it is lacking is a view of the city because it is underground, however the decor is quite homey!

Kevin, the bartender was excellent. Drinks are strong and taste great definitely will recommend this place as you're passing through not to miss.

Great Mexican food and the atmosphere was beautiful. Highly recommend this place to eat in . The frozen margarita was good (strawberry) .and the chicken quesadilla was very tasty . Our waitress Christopher was awesome .

Came in with some friends after wandering around doing NYC Christmas things. I've been to other locations of Dos Caminos so we thought coming here would be perfect. Our rough evening started when we checked infor our reservation. We told the hostess we were coming for Happy Hour. She sat us in the downstairs area in the back. When the waitress came over she told us we can't order happy hour at the non bar area tables. We said we would move then, she insisted we had to talk to a manger. Waited 10 mins, he moved us right away when we told him what happened. Why she didn't just move us herself, I don't know. When we finally got around to ordering, we wanted to start with the tequila flight from the happy hour menu. Apparently they didn't have tequila? They have 100's of bottles of tequila behind the bar???? What? So we just ended up ordering margaritas. My friends ordered regular on the rocks margaritas and I ordered a frozen prickly pear margarita. There's didn't come with salt, when we ordered a second round and they specifically asked for salt on the rims only one came out with salt on it. My drink was good, just tart enough with a semi sweet kick from the prickly pear. It was a little too thick though, was frozen solid at first but after 10 mins it was better. Back to our second round of drinks. The waiter literally never came back and we missed the end of happy hour, we were sitting there for more then 20 mins with empty glasses. With those 20 mins within the HH time. When he finally came back we were told we missed the end of HH and would just have to purchase full priced drinks. Whatever. What really annoyed me was then he asked us if we wanted to order a full priced tequila flight now. Thought you didn't have the tequila's for the flight. So rude. Guacamole was okay, queso fundido was better! But ask for some chips with it, only comes with tortillas. Though after my experience, and the customer service I don't know if I would want to come back.

All was very good. Tacos Carne excellent my friend had the chicken Cobb salad We each had a glass of Sauvignon Blanc, which was excellent and a healthy portion They had a DJ music was a little loud. We asked the manager to lower a bit and he did. The music was just as good and we were able to talk over dinner we were at the Broadway location in New York City. It was the week of Cinco de Mayo very busy. I've been there three times. Our favorite location is at Park Ave., South though. All locations excellent food. Tom G

The little restaurant was yummy. The cocktails even better. It's located right in time square. Stop in to this little restaurant and you won't regret it. Service is spot on: the food is delicious. Now they fill up fast because you know it's in time square so go in and get you some food next time your in time square. Might need a nap after the food. Bathroom are on a different level so that was interesting but all New York restaurants are set up differently that's what makes them unique.

A solid pick if you're looking for good Mexican. It won't be the best you ever had, but it is pretty on par in terms of flavors. They have a great selection of cocktails to enjoy with your meal and the service is really efficient. It's in Times Square, so you'll pay Times Square prices, but overall a solid place to eat.

We loved our meal at Dos Caminos, especially the cauliflower tacos. Our server, Caro, was super fast and friendly and attentive. The downstairs area was big and not too loud for a Times Square restaurant.

Mexican food was pretty decent for being NYC. Which means if you don't know better, you think it was great! Local San Antonio where SA has great food with a variety of flavors. Service, started with us arriving in the basement, greeted by go up the hostess. Hostess first response. Did you have a reservation? If we arrived directly into basement chances are guests from W. Unfortunately we did not have reservations as we were stuck in traffic for 90 mins. Having caught an early flight, we were hungry. The ambiance is dark, stain concrete floor & mix of music of Mexican and pop music. Not bad ambiance. Being in NYC Times Square, location & space is a commodity & expensive. Ok let's talk about food. Table sizes were very small. Table for two was tight. We are not big people. Our waitress seemed new & clueless about the menu. Asked for ice waiter twice which we only received tap water. Our water glasses were empty most of the time. We also ordered cocktails and high were expensive & probably the best item on the menu. Chips were not warm & lacked salt. Hot sauce, the green was scrumptious. The sauce in the middle was very spicy the end orange sauce was tasty & mild spicy. Ordered mole ribs, which were not the worse nor the best, lacked salt & probably some peanut butter. I will say the ribs were very tender & could easily cut with fork, not bad. The rice & black refried beans were amazingly perfect. Usually with plate meals two tortillas are provided not here & corn tortillas were store bought. Corn tortillas appear to be unheated may have benefited from a steam heated. Corn tortillas were not pliable. Birria tacos also made with tender rib meat & corn tortillas. The drinks were absolutely amazing! Loved the Tropical Storm & the jalapeño margaritas. The drinks were pricey, but well worth the visit alone.

The food and service here was amazing! Daniel was our server and was very attentive and personable! I definitely recommend coming, the margaritas are great too!

I stopped in for lunch around 1pm on a weekday afternoon. There were plenty of tables and seating at the bar. They have seating below/ downstairs as well. Nice atmosphere, and relatively quiet during my visit. I had a veggie taco bowl and plantain empanadas. There were some decent vegetarian options on the menu. My food was fresh and tasty. Service was friendly. Good option for a sit down meal in the Times Square area.

The service was terrible. My meal got taken to the wrong table while my whole party began eating. Was given churros on the house to make up for the mistake which was nice, but my water was not refilled once so had to eat with no water... while the food and ambiance was good the service was NOT. Our server did not even come to check on us but once, don't waste your time with this place.

The service was very slow and almost left the restaurant unfortunately. The nachos were so-so and it is prepared more like panchos. Ordered the carne asada tacos and it is not what you would get at a Mexican restaurant. I thought this place would be better but if I'm being honest, it wasn't that great especially for a restaurant in Times Square- sorry

We discovered Dos Caminos on our first night here and returned two nights later. The meal(s) on both nights were incredible!! Creative menu items, excellent quality of ingredients and beautiful presentation! The best part of both evenings was the service. Our first waitress was Ashley. 5 Star service! Polite, attentive and very professional! Our return was another incredible waiter, Gotti. Again, polite, professional and outstanding service. I know when we return in the future we'll definitely dine at Dos Caminos. Thank you.

Grateful for our waitress Ella, who was knowledgeable with gluten free. Before arriving at the restaurant I had sent an email asking what my options were. Once at the restaurant a lot of those options were not available due to shared fryer. I had the chicken and steak fajitas. They were good. The space is deceiving when you walk in.
