Dos Equis Pavilion Offers VIPs Lobster Mac and Cheese and Steak - Eater Dallas

"This summer, the bold-faced names playing at Dos Equis Pavilion in the shadow of the Ferris wheel at Fair Park aren’t the only stars. It also hosts a superstar experience that is quite a splurge — and for food lovers, it’s worth it. The venue has added and expanded premium seating with Rock Boxes, open-air suites, and Dream Seats that come with a side of celebrity chef-created food that’s a significant upgrade from the usual offerings at a venue. With a menu created by Fort Worth chef Tim Love and Tim Kilcoyne of World Central Kitchen, in step with Live Nation’s food and beverage team, concertgoers who go for the upgraded experience can order what amounts to a feast. A salmon board, an entire New York prime steak with roast potatoes, romaine heart salad with blue cheese and bacon, lobster mac and cheese, chicken parmesan sliders, birria nachos, sequences (Venezuelan fried cheese wrapped in pastry), braised short rib sandwiches, cheese boards, charcuterie, and a barbecue platter are all options that can be ordered seamlessly from an online menu — during the show or in advance. At a media event, Love and Kilcoyne discussed how they developed this particular menu, with Love citing his experience catering to VIP and artist areas at festivals, including Austin City Limits and Bonnaroo. The dishes that made the cut for this concert season are all sharable, maintain flavor and look appetizing while sitting out, and project luxury. Additionally, mixologist Sean Kenyon developed a series of specialty cocktails that can be enjoyed from the most expensive box seats in the house and all the way back on the lawn. The cocktails, served in shakers, include strawberry vodka lemonade, cherry bourbon smash, watermelon chili margarita, smokey desert margarita with prickly pear, mojito, Liquid Death Mango Chainsaw Margarita, espresso martini, and the Garden Party with Hendrick’s gin and cucumber. The food options at Dos Equis Pavilion for concertgoers are nothing to turn one’s nose up at, with concession stands from celebrity chefs including Art Bird by Art Smith, Trejo’s Tacos by Danny Trejo, Volt Burger by the Voltaggio Brothers, and Woodshed with barbecue by Love." - Courtney E. QuestLove’s Meatless Cheesesteak Will Soon Be Available in Dallas - Eater Dallas

"Outdoor music venue Dos Equis Pavilion (formerly known as Gexa Energy Pavilion, the Coca-Cola Starplex, and a host of other branded names) will soon boast a new line-up of dishes from major celebrities. According to GuideLive, the venue will soon serve a meat-free cheesesteak developed by the Roots frontman Questlove, chicken-fried brisket from Fort Worth’s own Tim Love, and a fried chicken sandwich from Top Chef contestant Fabio Vivani, among other new dishes. The new eats land when Dos Equis Pavilion returns for prime concert season on May 17." - Amy McCarthy

When it's hot, you're better off in the lawn. But when it's breezy, the seats are great. The screens are large enough to set everything you need to if you're far from the stage. The sound depends on the mixer but usually sounds great in the lawn. Drinks cost you a kidney but we pregame in the parking lot. You can bring a thermos or water bottle in for the water stations inside, but depending on who is playing, they might make you empty ice and water before entering the pavilion. The water is cool, not cold, but good enough when you need to hydrate. The bathrooms are clean and plentiful. The food is pricey but delish! You can't bring chairs but you can bring blankets. Clear bags or small clutch allowed. All in all, a great venue!! 4 stars because of the position I've the stage allows the sun to blind the artists and melt them in July and August, and there's always room for improvement.

Great Venue! Amazing time and the lawn view was not bad at all. Highly recommend getting there early and BOOK your lawn chair online. They were sold out when we arrived (two hours early). We purchased a blanket there for $25 so it wasn’t bad. You can bring a blanket, clear water bottles (1 per person). They did not police up anyone for smoking though (thought I read on their website that it wasn’t allowed). Parking was included with the ticket.

During the Summer months, I would suggest seats under the canopy and fans. Nice breezes through 100s. I thought the lounge upgrade was reasonably priced for the A/C amenities. Reasonable food options and fast service vendors. I just don't like Premium prices for standard liquors and cans less than 24oz. Improvement suggestion for venue would be completely an enclosed lounge area or temperature glass ceiling.

Lawn is nice and spacious. That’s the only thing good about this place. Located in a sketchy area of town, beers are $16, you can’t bring your own lawn chair, so you have to rent one for $20, and sound quality is meh. Employees walk around yelling out what beers they have on them to sell like a baseball game, during the concert…. Outside seating isn’t covered completely, so if it rains you’ll be getting very wet. If it wasn’t such an insane money grabbing experience it would’ve been better.

I’ve seen a bunch of (usually pretty inexpensive)concerts here and love going. The parking can be free, as long as you show up early-ish, depending on who is playing. They have VIP parking that’s $20-30 which almost always has availability day of. There’s merch outside (official) and inside which lines usually move pretty quickly. Tons of places to get drinks, I’ve never had to wait in line. Not a lot of bathrooms, so don’t wait until the last second, though there is an employee inside directing people which stalls are open and it makes it go faster. I’ve pretty much always gotten lawn seats here, and brought a blanket (minus seeing Slipknot, they understandably wouldn’t allow it), and still had a good view as you can see in the pics. 100% recommend seeing a concert here!

I've been here twice recently, first for Loverboy and Sammy Hagar and the Circle, and then for Creed with Three Doors down. This has always been a great place to go, sit on the lawn and enjoy some music with your friends, but it seems they've really upgraded the sound system here. It really rocks even if you're outdoors and way up on the grass. Great sound great atmosphere.

Have been to Dos Equis Pavilion many times. This is an amphitheater and I hear the capacity is about 17000. There is free parking available. There is also paid parking and can vary based on which band is playing. The best time to enjoy a concert is when it is below 90 degrees. It can get real hot in the 100’ s section even when it is 80 - 85 degrees. The best view used to be the first two rows in section 202 and 203 but now they have a larger club section where folks stand endlessly and block your view. Food & drinks are pretty expensive including water. Folks bring unopened water bottles or empty containers which they fill up inside the venue. Parking lot tail gate parties are pretty common and so you could bring your booze and food and to consume in the parking lot. Concert tshirts are expensive. Folks sell boot legged tshirts for about 10 - 15 bucks after the show. Get there early if you have a lawn ticket so that you can secure a good spot. Enjoy!

Great place for an evening show. Much more comfortable when the sun goes down. If you get a seat instead of lawn seats, the seats have much more room than going to a ball game. The opening act Lakeview was very impressive. Daughtry, Stained and Breaking Benjamin killed it!
