Review Title: No Salsa – Full Disappointment in a Grand Setting Rating: ⭐☆☆☆☆ (1/5) Review: We walked in with high hopes because the building is grand and the space is beautiful — you’d think the food would match that vibe. Unfortunately, it was a total letdown. The tacos, enchiladas, rice, beans, and even the tortilla soup were bland and flavorless. The food just didn’t live up to the impressive setting. The salsas were the biggest disappointment. We got three different kinds and not one of them had any spice or real flavor. It was like dipping into watered-down tomato sauce. Honestly, the place should be called No Salsa. When a Mexican restaurant can’t get the salsa right, it sets the tone for everything else. In the end, the lovely space is just a wasted opportunity. The staff was friendly, but that can’t make up for food this disappointing. We left having to plan another birthday lunch somewhere else to make up for it. Honestly, I have no idea how they stay open. Not worth it, and I wouldn’t recommend it.

We ate at Dos Salsas on a Sunday afternoon, and able to easily find a parking spot and be seated quickly. Our server, Criss, was very friendly and attentive. We both ordered the Tex Mex Combo and the Tres Leches cake. It was a generous amount of food and everything came out piping hot (the combo) and delicious.

Stopped here to celebrate my cousins bday. Wr didnt stay to eat. But, my sister & I sat at the bar for a cocktail, chips & salsa. Whoever the bar tender was she made us a delicious margarita🍸 on the rocks. The salsa and chips were so good. We stayed long enough to see the food my family ordered and it looked sooo good !!! They give you alot of food, too! Next time we go to Austin ,TX we will be back to this place for sure!

Google
Bang for your buck! Easy parking and the food, service, and atmosphere were wonderful. You get lots of food for the price you pay, and the drinks are also delicious. There was a live band and karaoke for Friday night dinner, and their happy hour is hard to beat!

DeNitrea

Google
The food was okay, house margarita was great and I enjoyed the atmosphere. However, I was surprised by how expensive the drinks were, and I found your gratuity policy for larger parties a bit concerning. For groups of six or more, I understand that a 25% gratuity is automatically added. However, if we choose to split the check, each person is then charged a separate 20% gratuity on their portion, and the receipt still prompts for an additional tip. This feels excessive, as gratuity is already meant to serve as a tip for the service.

Omkar L.

Google
Amazing ambience and karaoke setup, but need to get better on food quality and service wait times. Overall a definite 4 on 5.

Google
Good old clean Tex Mex food, huge!! 2 stories!! Nice decor with several TV 📺 to watch F1 or Longhorns football or any sports. They have karaoke on Fridays and Saturday, full bar, and great service.

Google
Great experience at Dos Salsas! The food was good and full of flavor, and the service was excellent. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome. Everything came out fresh and timely. I’ll definitely be back and would recommend it to anyone looking for good food and great service!

Yelp
Excelente servicio de nuestro mesero Criss. Atento, amable, puntual y agradable durante nuestra visita. Atmosphere is well inviting and clean. Our food was warm and delicious. Service from our server Criss was friendly and attentive.

Yelp
I met a friend for dinner at Dos Salsa after working out. First time at this Tex-mex restaurant.... Like many restaurants it has embraced the Halloween theme. We shared a chicken fajita plate and had margaritas. The white meat chicken was uniquely flavored and tender. The fajita meal came with rice and beans . We subbed out the beans for roasted vegetables...perfectly cooked - not too hard nor too soft. The meal also came with tortillas along with sour cream, pica de gallo, guacamole, lettuce and cheese. Our server immediately took out order however only checked in once while we ate. Another server was very help to bring to go containers Overran good dining experience...

Yelp
Been here a couple of times. The food is fine, but what kills it for me is the service. Every time I go I spend way more time than I intend to at the restaurant because it takes a long time to get anyone's attention for anything. Today I went with a friend in the middle of the afternoon, not super busy. Our waitress was kind and got our order in a timely manner, but that's where service seemed to stop. We never got refills to our table, and when the waitress dropped off our plates they were set away from us and very hot-- a silly thing to complain about, I know, but I couldn't even touch my plate to bring it close enough to eat off of until it cooled down. Parts of my dish were also missing, and since our server never came around to check on us I never got them. Eventually I had to signal a separate employee to ask for our check. Again, food was fine! But if I'm gonna spend the money to go out to eat, I'd like to have slightly better service. Would not recommend. Go spend your money at a better restaurant.

Yelp
I love the margaritas from this restaurant. I had the spicy margarita, and it does pack a tiny bit of heat. There is also karaoke (with a nice big stage) available on certain nights. I wasn't crazy about the queso, but I'd return to this restaurant for drinks and other entrees.

Yelp
I normally just go in for happy hours & drinks and occasionally I may have date night here and indulge in some food, but mostly for drinks. I must admitt that I'm secretly crushing on Hilda the bartender lol.. Izzy is a very cool person and she gets you taken care of.. overall the restaurant has a nice layout to it. There is a down stairs and upstairs sitting. A great place to take a date.

Yelp
Cesar Martínez is a wonderful person to have as a waiter. He is so accommodating. He is happy to speak Spanish which just makes the ambiance of the restaurant so much more enjoyable. He is very good at filling orders quickly. I would come back to have him as a waiter again.
google avatar

Yelp
The service is excellent, helpful, attentive, kind. They are amazing at hosting large parties. The food is average but the ambience and service make this a great place to try.

Yelp
This place used to be great, but it's not worth it anymore. The food is still good, but the service is shockingly bad--even for a patient person like me. We walked in to an empty restaurant after lunch rush and waited awkwardly while the host texted for nearly 2 minutes before even acknowledging us. The server didn't know the menu, didn't mention a lunch menu, and forgot basics like chips with queso, plates, and tortillas with fajitas. We had to repeatedly ask for everything. No one checked on us, and we only got help when another staff member noticed us while cashing someone else out. To top it off, a $10 tip was automatically added--which explains why no one seems to care. This place has seriously gone downhill. Don't waste your time or money here. Ordered: small queso, 2 soft drinks, fajitas for 2 = $82

Yelp
Came for lunch with a coworker and had a great experience! Dos Salsas lunch menu is a really good deal with awesome portions. I got the two chicken enchiladas which came with a soup or salad and rice and your choice of beans. We also got an order of queso to share and it was very good. Service was good and fast and the restaurant itself is very large with nice seating. Overall great spot to grab a quick meal!

Yelp
My favorite Mexican food spot (that's happens to be 3min from my apartment)! The food and service never fails! They have a restaurant upstairs and a bar downstairs. On the weekends they have karaoke so if you're not into loud noise while you're eating, avoid those times. The drinks are great and they are not light on the pours!
google avatar

Tiana F.

Yelp
I came in early in the evening (no where near closing and a reasonable two person order) for a takeout and was disappointed at how standoffish the employees I interacted with were. I got home with my order and found one of the two flans was over 2 weeks expired! The rest of the food was not good compared to the last time I was here 6 months ago but the flan was just nasty. Super disappointing and a huge waste of money. I won't be using this location again.
google avatar

Yelp
Angie was a great server for our table of 18! Great menu for all. I'm excited to go again and try their lunch specials!

Yelp
Went to a birthday party event here and I ended up ordering the three beef enchiladas with rice and beans and the red gravy sauce. All in all the food was okay but it was not outstanding. Tex-Mex. There are many other local places where you really get that good. Tex-Mex taste. Also had a large margarita which again was very mediocre. I usually get a buzz off of a large Margarita anywhere but didn't get anything at all. Unfortunately, our wait person was not as attentive as she could have been, I know we had a large table of about 12 people, but the restaurant was not that busy. Stuff was forgotten or never refilled until asked, that kind of thing.

William G.

Yelp
The margaritas that Gabriella makes are off the chain FUEGO! The atmosphere is perfect and the location is right at the entrance of the Domain which is all you need!
google avatar

Terri J.

Yelp
I have been going to their Georgetown location for years and the food is just as good here in Austin, but much better parking! Nice large location with a large open dining area on the second floor. The first floor area was closed during lunch, so a sign pointed us to go upstairs. Elevator for those who can't or don't want to do stairs. I had the cheese enchiladas. Very good. It was a workday, so no drinks, but maybe next time for dinner or the weekend. Service was good, but not great for lunchtime. A bit slow and there was an issue running my friend's credit card - he said it was short - how would that even happen if he keyed it correctly? Added a delay to an already rushed lunch.

Dirk K.

Yelp
Food has been great, Criss was a great server. It is very clean and modern. We have eaten here for the last 4 nights because it is by the hotel. Highly recommend.

Yelp
My partner and I came here on a Saturday evening with no expectations and ended up having a wonderful time! We were seated fairly quickly even though we were told it would take 15-20 minutes (we originally went downstairs to the bar and got a text within five minutes). The vibes in the upper floor seating area were very lively! They had a DJ which eventually transitioned into live music and we really enjoyed it! There were a few large groups there (like 10+ people) so it seems like a great place that can accommodate large gatherings if needed. The vibe could be best described as a wedding reception. The food itself was also good. We enjoyed the salsa and queso. While I can't vouch for my partner's shrimp rellano, I can say that my cheese enchiladas were delicious and came with a huge helping of beans and rice. I was able to bring home enough leftovers for a second meal the next day! Overall, I liked the experience and would come back

Breana D.

Yelp
Came out to listen to karaoke, Cesar Martinez took amazing care of us and everything was delicious. Would definitely come back and sit in his section!

Yelp
When in Texas, you must Tex-Mex! I try not to miss an opportunity to get some Mole Enchiladas when possible and Dos Salsas did disappoint. At the Domain, I stopped in for an early dinner. There's plenty of seating and my server Devon (who shares my same name) was great! Dinner started with - you guessed it! - dos salsas! And ended with delicious fried ice cream, one of my favorite treats that I rarely get a chance to enjoy. If you're in the area, stop in and give them a try!

Yelp
Another work trip, another dope AF Mexican spot on the road. I'm in Austin looking at this amazing plate. I might eat the plate. It started with the comp staple dos salsas una rojo una verde. Perfect spice and style. Thin tortilla chips def homemade. Napkins in hand lfg. The game was on at the bar. Maybe five of 15 seats empty. A huge oversized mug filled with ice water immediately served because it's 90,000° in Texas. And then this glorious plate of chicken fajita nachos crept up behind me. The bartender brought it out in a towel and he said don't touch it it's hot as hell lol Oh Texas you've done it again. The Mexican music was in sync with my chewing pace. I was on the phone with friends telling them about this place as I was inhaling it all and my phone died. Once again, as you all know, I don't travel with my wallet. So I either was about to go do some dishes, or they let me tap my watch on that register. Lol enjoy the spot Austin. Id definitely go back.

Savannah G.

Yelp
We love dining in at Dos Salsas and we ALWAYS ask for Gabriella because she's attentive and nice. I always order silly things and customize things & she is so patient with me. Can't wait for our next visit!!
google avatar

Jamie L.

Yelp
I ordered a queso for takeout here and it was a generous portion at a reasonable price so I was satisfied. Service was pretty friendly, and the queso had good flavor. The chips are very thin and weak so they tend to keep breaking, but it is tasty because they are fresh tortilla chips. I would definitely come back and try other dishes.
google avatar

Laura P.

Yelp
This restaurant is fabulous! We went for lunch and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. The service was superb! The food portion was generous and was very good. The atmosphere was happy and welcoming. They have specials too! I highly recommend this restaurant!

T T.

Yelp
What a great restaurant - always love the relaxed feel. Our enchiladas were delicious and Gabriela provided prompt, pleasant and efficient service. Couldn't have asked for more.

Helen H.

Yelp
Our hopes were up when we decided to try this restaurant in our new neighborhood. After being seated, we should've known what was coming after waiting 20 mins to order drinks. Drinks finally came, and the waitress disappeared for another 25 mins before coming over to take our dinner order. By the time we were given the opportunity to order food, our tummies were full of chips and watered down margaritas that barely had any alcohol in them. Maybe no alcohol even. Overall very disappointing. And had to wait for 30 mins to grab the waitress's attention to get our check. Overall not worth the wait for average Tex mex food and crap margaritas.
google avatar

David A.

Yelp
Food was pretty good, service was good. The DJ blasting dance music was a little off. We couldn't get out of there fast enough...
google avatar

Cydney F.

Yelp
Another fabulous meal at this location. The service was excellent. Our waitress was polite and very on top of refills and making sure everything we ordered was to our liking. We were seated as soon as we walked in and did not have to wait long for our food and it was nice a fresh. The house margaritas are the best!!! We will return on our next trip to Austin!
google avatar

Rachelle W.

Yelp
Here again!! Izela has the best ice cold beer in town! And the food is amazing! Will definitely be back!

Michelle M.

Yelp
The food is good. I had the tortilla soup and flautas, husband had porkchops. Cocktails also good. Service needs some attention. Our server was sweet but seemed untrained, never brought the tortillas, for instance. Chips and salsa not so great. The most stars docked for the staff---most of the time they are standing around in groups chatting. One blond girl actually on her phone and taking selfies the whole time we were there. Not a good look.
google avatar

Jack G.

Yelp
Dos Salsas has an interesting setup - there's a bar area on the bottom floor but the actual dining is up a pretty tall flight of stairs (it's also accessible by elevator). The dining area is large but a bit of a crowded setup - it honestly feels a bit more like a cafeteria than I expected. There's a stage at the front for live music but none happening while I was there for lunch. The free chips and salsa were appreciated but we didn't love either of them. The red salsa was pretty tomato-forward, while the green had a strong raw onion bite to it. The service was friendly and fast, and we were able to order soon after we got seated. I ordered the mole enchiladas with black beans. The sauce was quite good, hitting all the right mole notes without being excessively rich. The enchilada chicken was a little bit dry but not too bad. The black beans were exceptional and easily my favorite part of the meal. Overall, this seems like a decent TexMex place where you could reliably get a table most times - it's nice to have these spots in a city as busy as Austin.
google avatar

Linh P.

Yelp
Portions were very huge. The plate was the size of two of my heads. Rice and beans were tasty and flavorful. The avocado salsa had a nice kick to it. The barbacoa was good too, but just a little dry. My friend got the enchiladas, but he said all he could taste was just the corn tortilla and he couldn't taste any of the beef fajita. We went on a Sunday and it was very packed, so we understood if our waiter would take a while to get back to us, but it took us 2-3 times to get his attention. He would sometimes look in our direction then disappear for a while to the kitchen or something. Another table next to us who had a different waiter came after us and left earlier than us just because their waiter got their order and check to them immediately.
google avatar

Dene' H.

Yelp
Good was great and our server Alanta was awesome!!! I would love to have her every time. Made sure we had everything we needed.
google avatar

Devanshi B.

Yelp
We were randomly browsing on Yelp for a Tex-mex place and ended up here. We ordered a couple of things. One chimichanga and one burrito. The veggie burrito was filled with veggies, which were not very good in taste and the whole thing together didn't taste very good. The beans were also okay. Same with the chimichanga, very okay in taste. We also ordered a drink with light ice, but when we got it, it was filled with ice and we had to remove a plate full of ice cubes from it. Which brings me to the service. It's not great I think, worse than an average restaurant. Our server was quite rude which also affected our overall experience. The vibe of the place was good since they have live music and karaoke, but that after a point was also too loud.
google avatar

Greg H.

Yelp
We are on a small fun weekend staying near the domain and decided to try this restaurant as we had never been. It seems fairly new as it has only 3 locations as if now. I want to start with our waiter. He was training a new employee and was super friendly and helpful. He helped us choose drinks and was fast and friendly. I got a shredded chicken chimichanga and Shana got shrimp tacos. Mine was pretty good, good flavor and a good size, not small but not so big it was too much. Shana enjoyed the shrimp tacos but as a shrimp taco affinado they were not the best she has had in Austin but still good. The drinks were flavorful and large. It was a nice experience, large with a sitting/waiting area when you come in, then you go upstairs to eat. Overall it was good. Nothing overly great or awful about it.
google avatar

Karson S.

Yelp
Drove out to Dos Salsas on recommendation from someone who lives in my home town and visits Austin occasionally. The rundown: - located up near the domain, this is a very big building but all of the restaurant seems to be upstairs? Unsure what's in the downstairs other than the entrance doors - the staff was very nice, and quick to help - best part of the visit! Our waitress even had a handheld to let us pay right with her - we started with chips, 2 salsas, a blue frozen margarita, and queso. The queso was good but we'd wished there was more - the food was okay, nothing super special. The plates came out hot and pretty fast. We both ordered the chicken enchiladas which were pretty standard chicken topped with queso as we requested. Overall this was a solid visit , nothing standout food-wise but a good meal at your average going out to eat price
google avatar

Bethany K.

Yelp
I came here with a group during a work trip. First thing, this place is huge -- great for busy nights... not too long of a wait. They offer complimentary chips and salsa (ergo, dos salsas ). First off, service was great. Very attentive and answered all the questions that everyone at the table had. While the food wasn't bad, it wasn't too memorable. It was a little bland, tbh. Maybe Tex mex isn't for me. ‍
google avatar

Brandon H.

Yelp
This place is a trap!!! Lol but I mean that in a good way! I was lured here, literally lured here by the smell of the chefs cheffing it up in the kitchen. You could smell the food from across the street and by street I mean the Domain because it's located right across the street off Burnet Rd. It's a 2 story building but the actual restaurant is upstairs. They have stairs and an elevator and a nice little waiting area downstairs. I only ordered drinks and YES they were delicious. I ordered the Dos Salsas which is named after the restaurant. I cannot remember the name of the other drink my better half ordered but it was delicious and we have pics to prove it lol. They also have a stage I'm guessing for live music and screen tvs for your viewing pleasures. Ofcourse their are a few cons but nothing major as it's my personal opinion. Although a wonderful establishment it felt more of a cafe type setting. The seats are pretty close to each other and offer no privacy....that's it. We're you expecting more? Lol no this place is awesome I will definitely be back to try out the food but so far so good
google avatar

Rigo M.

Yelp
Staying at a near by hotel and thought since this place was in walking distance it would be a good choice. I ordered the Parrillada which consisted of chicken, beef, 2 shrimp and spicy sausage. With charro beans and rice. Charro beans were the only thing flavorful. Spicy sausage was No Bueno and didn't even bother to finish it. If it wasn't for the lime I squeezed over the food it would have been bland. Never going back again. Wish I would have went somewhere else.
google avatar

Kenny W.

Yelp
My wife and I have found our new hang out! The food is great but the service is awesome. Izela is an amazing bartender and always takes great care of us. I highly recommend!!
google avatar

Kara M.

Yelp
As a San Antonio native, this place is pretty overpriced and mediocre for Tex-Mex, but a somewhat better alternative to many other places in Austin, particularly in the north area. Convenient to the Domain area, Dos Salsas is a chill Tex-Mex restaurant and their margaritas and fajitas (amongst other classic Tex-Mex plates) will hit the spot and fulfill your craving. Much better pricing than Valencia's Tex-Mex IN the Domain (only worth going to for happy hour, if even that). The fajitas are decent and the margs are pretty good. You get your typical chips and salsas when seated, and the service is pretty standard. They also have karaoke nights on weeknights sometimes. It can get pretty busy towards the end of the week, but it's a consistent spot for all your Tex-Mex cravings!
google avatar

Juan A V.

Yelp
Omar was a great waiter. Definitely will recommend him. He went above and beyond in his service. Very polite and very happy personality. Will me coming back and asking for him.
google avatar

Steve B.

Yelp
Waited almost 40 minutes on food after it was placed and our bartender wasn't really attentive at all. It was fairly busy so I can understand to an extent however after waiting awhile to even place an order and having to ask for chips and salsa after being served drinks is kinda annoying. We ended up asking to take it to go IF the food was ready to which they said sure and that took a while as well. In the meantime, the salsas were watery and not spicy much at all.

Izzy H.

Yelp
This was our first stop on our trip to Austin. We went on Christmas Eve so it wasn't busy at all. The place was decorated for the holidays and very clean and cute. Our waiter, Franco, was great and deserved more than 5 stars! Everyone was attentive and helpful and all the food was delicious. I'd recommend everything we had (especially the queso dos salsas and choco flan) and would definitely be regulars if we lived here.

Yelp
I had a fantastic experience at Dos Salsas. The atmosphere was inviting and the food was delicious. Our server Ben was was amazing, attentive, friendly and made out experience unforgettable. Will be coming back, thanks Ben !

Yelp
Great time! Had the Mango Margarita! Service great! Ambiance was great! Thanks Hilda!!!

Yelp

Yelp
Omar our server was attentive and amazing. Our food was delicious and we will definitely will be back when we come back to Austin.

Yelp
Average Tex-mex with reasonable prices and good service. The fajita beef was thinly cut and slightly over cooked. Will come back when in the neighborhood but wouldn't necessarily seek it out
google avatar

Daniel V.

Yelp
Omar did a great job. Pechuga a La Crema was amazing. Good house margaritas. Would come back!
