Google
Ordered Nachos for pick up and they looked so nice and appetizing on the pictures. Seemed very loaded and filling. Well it mainly came with toppings they put such a small amount of actual nachos! I think I only had like 6 nachos with so much topping leftover. Nothing was baked the cheese wasn’t melted. Meat cost an additional 7$ and it was a few bits sprinkled on. I guess not my expectation

Google
Food is healthy, fresh and tasty. Portion is relatively small. Staff are pretty efficient and helpful. Recommend.

Google
Cherokee is literally the sweetest ever and always makes my day when I come in! I’m a huge fan of this Dos Toros because of the location and the wonderful staff. Their burritos are phenomenal and the food is always fresh. 10/10 I always come back!! Thank you all for making lunch/dinner be more fun!

Jared Tannenbaum

Google
This place is simply superior. If I’m gonna be totally honest, I would eat here several times a week if I could. Consistently delicious.

Google
Dos Toros is generally my go to choice among the fast-casual Mexican giants. I've touted it above Chipotle and Qdoba many a time. However, this particular location was an absolute let down. The restaurant was practically empty and the person making my bowl was rushed to get my order ready. The only thing that I got a lot of was the mixed greens, but they were so stingy with all the other items. It almost felt like they couldn't be bothered to give me items that needed cooking/preparation and gave me as little as possible. The protein portion was barely 1 scoop and the guacamole portion was also minimal. The chicken was overcooked and everything tasted cold. While I certainly understand inflation pricing having worked in food service myself, $15 for the quality and quantity received is not justifiable. As a note, I rarely write bad reviews about a place. I'm not sure if corporate has intervened at this location, but the employees need to be re-trained. I don't see my self coming back

Google
The short manager is extremely rude and controlling. I’ve had two encounters where she made my food and her attitude was terrible and so were her portions, the other time she must’ve been training a new employee and I was denied an extra portion of pork even though I would’ve paid the extra.. she acts like she own the place I will not be returning..

Google
I love this place, everyone is always friendly and the food is always top notch. Never had a bad thing here. I’m a creature of habit but I always find myself experimenting here cause literally everything is good!

Rohan Padhye

Google
Great lunch spot! Good food and good service! If you’re in Times Square area and are looking for a quick meal that’s relatively healthy, this is the best spot!

JiHae L.

Yelp
I came here as I've been to the other locations so I wanted to check it out. I wasn't impressed as it was all the same. The portion size was good.

Tim O.

Yelp
People are so critical of Dos Toros that it's just not fair. It's absurdity. Dos Toros is a slightly cheaper Chipotle with Spanish rice, a few other differences, and slightly smaller portions. One of the best lunches for the price in midtown.

Ryan Y.

Yelp
We went to Dos Toros during a promotion and was pleasantly surprised. The Carne Asada Burrito was very good and is a decent portion size. I wasn't able to finish my burrito, but my bf ate the whole thing and was satisfied afterwards. The tortilla was soft was held everything together. If you get takeout, I recommend toasting it a little before eating.

Jimmy M.

Yelp
Looks like a trendy, modern "New York" take on Moe's ... and it is. I had carne asada tacos with black beans and Pico de Gallo. The corn tortilla shells weren't traditional but they were thick and moist. Half the meat and juices very well. If you're looking for a quick bite and in the mood for some counter service tacos or burritos I'd worth giving it a try.

Virginia T.

Yelp
Great place in Times Square! Fast service, indoor seating and tasty food! Very similar to Qdoba and Chipotle.

Kyle S.

Yelp
3 mediocre at best tacos and a soda for $25. Never again! For that price I can go to Los Tacos #1 and actually get good food.

William R.

Yelp
Got to restaurant, very empt (bad sign) began to order and saw steak, told abruptly i can't have steak and it's for online orders. Then proceeded to point at sauce and got in trouble for hand over glass. Didn't give me any condiments for quasidilla and seemed annoyed when i asked for beans and rice. identical ambiance of chipotle literally identical interior. food was very very good 3.5/5 stars

Gizem Z.

Yelp
I love the taste of this dos toros location. They are always consistent with the quality. I always order for pick up so i dont know the service.

Arianna M.

Yelp
I ordered a meal pal order from here today that wasn't ready in time, but that was fine. What was NOT fine was when I watched the women preparing my bowl drop a spoonful of guacamole on the dirty counter and scoop it back into my bowl while I literally stood right there... I'm 4 months pregnant and arguing with people is something I don't have the capacity to do right now. But, everyone else should be aware of their disgusting practices.

Francine Y.

Yelp
Didn't know what to expect when coming here but when I walked in it reminded me of chipotle. Ordered the bowl with carnitas and added guac and sour cream. This was a one and done deal for me as the food was horrible. Their was a lack of flavor and it was a bit expensive. Chipotle is definitely way better and worth the money. The guac here was so bland and so was the carnitas. Note to self, don't bother coming back even if it's free.

Michael T.

Yelp
Basically a chipotle clone, but I would argue pretty significantly better with some unique twists. Last time I went I got a roasted Brussels sprouts burrito which was a limited time offer. I was skeptical because that doesn't seem like it should work, but I do love Brussels sprouts. I was very pleasantly surprised how that unexpected combo worked, and was bursting with flavor. Would I go out of my way to go here? Probably not. It's very similar to Chipotle. But if you're in the area it's definitely worth checking out for a quick, convenient, reasonably priced lunch. And you might discover something new with their limited time offer rotation that often features some wacky combos.

Jenn L.

Yelp
Big fan of Dos Toros! I say its way better than Chipotle forsure. I love how they have a vegan options (plant-based chorizo). The bowls are what I usually go for or the quesadilla. It's a great quick place to grab lunch too - especially near my work. The ingredients are fresh and the tortillas too!

Aimee M.

Yelp
Food is standard, but can sometimes miss the mark. Had corn salsa that was still frozen. Workers here can be unnecessarily rude; and can't comprehend charging a set bowl vs. a custom bowl. Won't bother thinking through what it actually costs, and will just lazily charge you "extra" where they can. Try another location if you can.

Laura P.

Yelp
Large Mexican food joint. It is right by my work so very convenient for lunch. I love ordering their tacos or platos (which are basically salad or burrito bowls). Chicken and steak is delicious. They have MUCH better and tastier food than chipotle. Their guacamole is excellent too. Tip: Get guac on the side. Much more of a bang for your buck than ordering it in your dish. Service is usually very quick. There is always a long line during the lunch rush. The food tastes fresh. There is plenty of seating for those who want to dine in.

Stephy G.

Yelp
Dos Toros Taqueria is literally a high quality version of Chipotle - as soon as you walk in you get in line and order | you can get a burrito, a bowl, tacos, or a quesadilla to name a few. I typically go with a bowl, but I have tried their burritos and quesadillas all are equally delicious. The quality of food they provide far surpasses Chipotle with the addition of some fun toppings like crushed chips which add a nice crunch to your meal. There's usually have plenty of seating, however anywhere between 1-2pm on a weekday you may have to take your food to go. I've also seen lines that shoot out the door and outside so plan your visit accordingly. Even though there may be a line, I'd definitely give this place a chance. Anytime I'm in the mood for some quick Mexican food I head over here.

Suzanne M.

Yelp
This is pretty much Chipotle but better. If you find yourself in the city looking for a quick bite to soothe your drenched-from-the-rain soul and make the 4 kids happy quickly, this is your place!

Raquel T.

Yelp
When I need my quick Mexican food fix, I always come here. The place is clean, there's almost never a long wait and food is always fresh. Used to be a chipotle girl but unfortunately their quality is never consistent. Guac is a little expensive here but 1000% worth it as it's real avocado and they don't skimp on the amount.

Cory B.

Yelp
A great Mixin mexican-american restaurant. This place will draw a lot of comparisons to Chipotle and though I personally can't say wether the food here is "better" then Chipotle's food I can say the service, seating and quality here is at least equal to it. The times I have been here though have had less traffic then other nearby Chipotle restaurants so that is a major plus.

Sudin S.

Yelp
Always been a fan of Dos Toros ! This location was close to my work so got to try it after 2 years since I wasn't coming in for work. The pace here is slower than what I found in Brookfield place, downtown ( old job). I got the Burrito Bowl And the servers were kinda frugal in terms of making the bowl, i had to ask them to add some more; maybe its the inflation. But the food itself is really good! Better than chipotle, definitely!

Patricia C.

Yelp
Another dos toros location open! So glad it's right around the corner from my office...no more chipotle for now! Came here today on opening day where everything was $1, what a steal. This is the largest dos toros with high ceilings and ample seating, so def a good place to go with coworkers or friends during lunch. Once you get to the front of the line, they actually split the line into two and direct you to two different bars. Exact same drill as chipotle: pick your dish (burrito, taco, bowl, salad, quesadilla), and choose your toppings. They are also able to do half and half on the meats, so I picked carnitas and steak. I also saw what looked like broken up tortilla chips as one of the toppings, how genius :) YUMMMMMM. Why Dos Toros is way better than Chipotle: 1) Prices are pretty similar but the quality is WAY better at dos toros. Portions are smaller though but that doesn't bother me 2) Lines move faster with two bars; super nice staff (but will update as this was opening day...) 3) They let you add guac for just $1 more 4) Quesadillas! 5) Small details, but the bowls have a paper lid instead of the foil lid. More sturdy and it allows you to microwave the entire bowl! Def coming back here soon!

Matteo G.

Yelp
Clean, spacious and efficient Dos Toros near Bryant Park. The location can accommodate 30+ sitting customers. The staff is really friendly, and they even come around to collect your trash or ask if you would like a glass of tap water. The service is quick, even during extremely busy times, such as lunch time on a week day.

Qorinah W.

Yelp
I'm a fan of this place! The service was quick, plenty of seating, reasonable pricing and amazing flavors. I came in with a couple of coworkers around 11:30 and were able to order immediately. I got the chicken bowl with brown rice, blackbeans, pico, corn, HOT SAUCE (AMAZINGLY HOT!), lettuce, guacamole, and cheese. We were able to find seats immediately after ordering. I highly recommend. More flavorful than chipotle IMO.

Jacky C.

Yelp
Dos Toros or Chipotle? Hands down Dos Toros. A NYC chain compared to the national chain so quality is going to be better. The wait isn't too bad as they have two lines going so it zips by pretty quick, unlike CAVA where you could be waiting for 15-30 mins just to grab your lunch. They're pretty good with the servings and portions so no complaints so far!

Juan G.

Yelp
This is what Chipotle wishes it was. It's the same conveyer belt system where you choose your base, protein and toppings. The carnitas were delicious and the habanero sauce was a delicious spicy.

Emma F.

Yelp
Ate lunch here last friday 2/24, ordered tacos and got horrible food poisoning, I started feeling sick almost immediately after.

Marissa L.

Yelp
Dos Toros is basically like Chipotle, but I like it better. The food tastes less salty to me, and I like that you can get farro instead of rice. I usually end up getting a bowl with chicken, farro, black or pinto beans, vegetables, corn, cheese, lettuce, pico de gallo, and salsa verde, and it comes out to less than $10 for a lot of food, which is a great value for the area around Bryant Park. They also have plenty of seating at this location which I appreciate.

Gary M.

Yelp
Only came here for the 2 for $10 deal for Dos Toros' 10th birthday. If it was regular price, I probably wouldn't come. Food is definitely hot temperature-wise. However, portions seem to be small. Yes, you can have all the toppings you want but workers here seem stingy with the amount you receive. Credit only here, which is nice to see.

Stephie M.

Yelp
Dos Toros Midtown...Please do not put corn on a quesadilla... I mean, I really do appreciate the offer of veggies - corn and peppers - and maybe you can hook me up by giving them to me as a side? Yeah, let's do that! The quesadilla at Dos Toros is the closest thing to a super suiza that I have been able to find in NYC. I appreciate Dos Toros for seeking to create some authentic SF-Mexican cuisine and they do a decent job with the quesadilla. I have not had anything else because I have been so happy with it! FYI - This location seems to put %30-40 less meat than other locations, which is pretty sad. Also...again, they think corn goes in quesadilla.... Just, no. But, I did come during lunch hour so maybe it's better at a quieter hour. That being said, when it's busy the line moves quick and the team is efficient!

Sepide N.

Yelp
Let me revise my previous review and tell you about my latest visit :) My second time at Dos Toros was everything I hoped the first time would be. The other day's burrito truly hit the spot! Big flavorful roll with really juicy, mouthwatering pork. I applaud them also for their dedicated customer service which I believe is the backbone of success. Dos Toros has earned its spot in my weekly rotation. Thank you!

Amanda D.

Yelp
Reducing review. Half hour before closing. No pork. Manager is cheap bastard that should satisfy and not his bottom line. Sadly customers make a business. There are a lot of mosquitoes in this place. Bring bug repellent.

Mike M.

Yelp
Only one star for a false claim... On a cable food show, the owners of this franchise (NOT Mexican), said they were NY transplants from SF, CA, and that the product was a "Mission Style Burrito"... I went there, it was too commercialized, and the product fell way short of their claim. It tasted like Chipotle... I was born and grew up in the Mission District of SF, CA, and ate Mission Style Burritos at the "hole in the wall" taquerias with authenticity of Mexico. ElFaro, Pancho Villa, etc... These and other SF taquerias would agree that this product wouldn't deserve to be called "Mission Style".

George C.

Yelp
Solid new Dos Toros with the usual grand opening $1 promo but a massive line compared to its predecessors. Staff handled it well considering, and surprisingly those waiting wrapped around the corner fairly well. Filling, tasty carne asada bowl with a nicely nutty Farro/rice mix but less of everything than usual, to eat in Bryant Park. Are there normally spoons available? Really don't remember having to use a fork to eat my plato...

R F.

Yelp
I work around the corner from the place and this is always my go to. Great quick place for lunch or a quick snack. Food is always fresh, hot and tasty due to the long line and constant business. Employees are all really nice and helpful. They don't take cash, just a heads up. Was going to write down my favorites but I've tried everything and it's all really good. Didn't get 5 stars because it's only a lunch spot, I wouldn't bring my wife here for a dinner. Also, I need more drink options.

Jim B.

Yelp
I have stopped by for lunch (take-out) a couple of times. Counter service is well organized and staff are friendly/helpful. You get a decent size entree for just under $10.00. Protein portions are skimpy, a carb heavy meal. I prefer a self-serve salad bar where you can choose from a larger selection of items and go protein heavy or carb heavy or all salad. But this is a nice change of pace.

Jennifer C.

Yelp
Okay, honestly, we probably didn't need another Mexican food spot around here, but ever since I tried Dos Toros... I'm SO HAPPY that they're here. Their menu and offerings are very similar to Chipotle, but everything just tastes so much better. Like the ingredients are fresher and there's more flavor on the meat. So far, I've only had the chicken quesadilla, which by the way, isn't a traditional quesadilla... it's more like a flat burrito without the rice, but it's DELICIOUS. I'm excited to try the rest of the menu. PS: Sad thing is that even if you get the vegetarian option for anything, guac is still extra :(

Jeremy C.

Yelp
As someone who only eats Chipotle maybe once every month, Dos Toros was a vast disappointment. Why is there so much hype for mediocre, tasteless food? I really want to like the food, but it's literally just a bland version of Chipotle. The rice is bland, the chicken is bland, the corn is bland. The guacamole tastes like it came from Subways. At least Tres Carnes fills a niche: smoky, flavorful food albeit more expensive than Chipotle. Dos Toros is in the same price range as Chipotle but tastes significantly worse. Why people choose this over Chipotle or Tres Carnes is beyond me.

Carolina G.

Yelp
Decided to try this place instead of Chipotle, and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I would say there are less options than Chipotle but it is cheaper. I got two tacos with steak, and they had the usual toppings like corn, salsa, cheese and guacamole. However it was a bit cold, besides that it was pretty good! It was also very spacious inside, unlike chipotle.

Sailor M.

Yelp
I love Chipotle so when my friend suggested there was a place that was super similar, I had to try it out for myself. He raved about this place like it was the best invention since sliced bread. He assured me it was going to be good and to his word - he was right. Their food is yummy and great. I basically got the same thing that I always get at Chipotle, which is a bowl, chicken and veggies. The only thing is, I prefer Chipotle more. For some reason, their chicken is just more flavorful in my opinion. I guess it just has a particular type of seasoning that makes my taste buds burst. However, I frequent Dos Toros often as it does the trick whenever I am in the mood for some Latin-flavor-ness.

Carol L.

Yelp
I've been here a handful of times since its grand opening, where they sold all their entrees for $1 only! For those who haven't been to a Dos Toros before, the concept is similar to a Chipotle where you decide on bowl, burrito, or tacos/salad and you choose your ingredients. They advertise themselves as specializing in "California-style burritos" - complete with guac, pico de gallo, and crushed tortilla chips. How the base ingredient is different from Chipotle, I really wouldn't know but maybe they prepare it differently. Anyways. my go to order is usually the al pastor pork with brown rice, mild and medium sauce, both black and pinto beans, fajita veggies, lettuce, crushed tortilla chips and guac. Yummm! I do think it tastes fresher than Chipotle, with the same price point which is nice. It's a nice alternative to Chipotle and I definitely will be back as there's so many of them in NYC!

Luis B.

Yelp
I was looking for a vegan option and saw that they have impossible plant based meat so I wanted to try it out. It was pretty good, so i'd say that this is a good option for those who want a taco, burrito, etc but don't want the meat. Price is a bit high at 10.99, seems to be the priciest compared to the rest of the options.

Roissy R.

Yelp
Love this place!!! It's the my go-to taqueria when I'm in a hurry. Their steak burrito's my absolute fave. Plus they customize your burrito according to your liking right in front of you

Jamie M.

Yelp
I'm not from around here and I can say this this place is really damn good! The chicken taco was more flavorful than most taco places. The carnitas pork taco was flavorful and moist. Chips were good. The only reason I'm giving them 4 stars is because it was my first time and I didn't know how their "system" worked and got really rude looks and comments from behind the counter when I told the "wrong person" what I wanted on my taco.

Brian C.

Yelp
2nd time. barely a spoonful of farro, when i asked for more the man serving refused. he said something rude under his breath as a said no thanks i'll pass. they use to be nice and offered bigger portions. not anymore. and...THEY WERE EMPTY AT LUNCH TIME!!! tells you a lot about what's happening there. also, there website disabled the feedback section. went to their competitor 2 stores down - mexicue. big fat portion and served with a fat smile and thank you. i will not be going back to dos toros AGAIN! no excuses for this.

Nicole B.

Yelp
The prices on the menu board is not the price at the register. Check it out...that menu board has incorrect prices?!?! And cashier and management look at u crazy when brought to their attention?? No one likes to be hoodwinked or robbed. The really sad thing is you are putting your employees is a bad spot....Smh yo lie or get verbally abuse. Geeshh smdh

Stacie C.

Yelp
I've stopped in for lunch several times, as I work nearby. This location is spacious, with plenty of seating, which is rare for this area of the city. The length of the line varies but it's a well-oiled machine so it's very easy to get in and out quickly. I usually get a bowl and it's a satisfying lunch. This isn't "authentic" Mexican but it's tasty, fresh, and filling.

G E.

Yelp
Great customer service, special thanks to Angelee, Fatou, & Taraya for the place being about to close and still having superb customer service and smiles on there face. These ladies deserve recognition for their hard work, commitment, and positive attitude. Keep up the amazing job!

Lee V.

Yelp
This was a very disappointing experience. Similar set up to Chipotle with less efficiency. I don't like Chipotle so I ordered the Pollo Asado Salad. The chicken was cold and so were the veggies. I ate it because I paid 26.00 for two. I will not be going back.

Scott S.

Yelp
The first day they opened, they offered $1 burritos outside my office, which sounded awesome until you saw the line with more than 200 people waiting. Considering there are not many food options in midtown that are decent, I was set out to try this establishment. I've ordered the taco bowl salad several times now, I guess that's what you call it. With brown grains/rice, chicken with guac. I'm overly shocked that all of they're ingredients at Dos Toro's are fresh, hot and delicious. Plus, their staff is excellent, fast and friendly to top it off. Also, there prices are very inexpensive compared to the competition. I used to think Chiptole was one of the best spots around for quick Mexican food, but step aside McDonalds, I mean Chipotle, you have a lot to learn here. I will continue to grab lunch here when I can as this Taqueria has yet to fail me.

Andrea W.

Yelp
Pretty good! We got catering for lunch from here, and it was delicious. We got rice, black beans, pinto beans, lettuce, carne asada, pork, chicken, fajitas, corn, guacamole, pico de gallo, soft taco shells, and an assortment of spicy salsas. Food was flavorful and fresh, and I love the salsas! From what I heard, it wasn't too expensive either; we probably fed around 50 people and we paid $600 including tax. Yum!
