"The fast casual spinoff of Dosa is now open on the corner of Broadway and Webster serving its signature dish alongside South Indian-spiced cocktails. It's roomy and high-ceilinged, with ample seating inside, and a small patio outside. The menu offers wraps, salads, rice bowls, small plates like samosas and stuffed naan — most importantly, however, breakfast brings egg dosas and other flavorful ways to start the day." - Rodrigo Ormachea, Ellen Fort, Janelle Bitker

"Indian restaurants are usually good bets for gluten-free diners, who can feast on curries over basmati rice. But Oakland’s dosa By DOSA takes it up a notch with clearly labeled salads, desserts, and dosas (South Indian savory rice and lentil crepes) in addition to rice bowls. Don’t miss the crispy, chewy idli fries dipped with chutney." - Janelle Bitker

"Pete Kane reviewed the fast-casual restaurant Dosa by DOSA in Uptown Oakland. The slimmed-down menu focuses on street food, with top picks including the tamil lamb and roasted chile garlic dosa. The playful vibe is best experienced with friends, and recommended side dishes include cheese-stuffed naan, idli fries, and Chennai fried chicken." - Andrew Dalton

Very chic spot. Came here with some coworkers on a Thursday for some cocktails. Really enjoyed the open space, fresh atmosphere, and quick service. Conveniently located next to another few restaurants, other bars, and walking distance from the brand new Hive apartments in Oakland. Definitely come in for a quick bite and a drink. A little on the pricier side but that's because it's in a nicer area.

Yum. Really love this place. All the deliciousness of Dosa mothership with none of the fanfare. Super allergy friendly making it a great place for groups. Nice and spacious layout. Favorites for me are the tofu scramble dosa and the savory pongal. The staff were awesome and helpful. I hope these start showing up in more neighborhoods.

Different kind of Dosa’s not usually found in other places. Tried the mango and paneer one and liked them both. The fried idli is also very good. The ambience is really cool. Street parking is available around the area.

The most delicious dosa I have had in bay area so far. They have different varieties of dosa, we tried paper masala dosa, chilli garlic dosa and some other with aam chutney. All 3 were outstanding. The tamarind masala lassi was also really tasty.

Ambienece was very good, food taste was decent. It is different taste than traditional indian dosa. More Americanized flavors, ingredients. Lassi was on bit sour side.

Amazing environment, music and great people; was launched in December 2017 in the flourishing neighborhood of uptown Oakland, adjacent to downtown and Lake Merritt.  This latest addition has a modern feel with an open kitchen, high vaulted-ceilings, a marble-top bar and outdoor seating!  While delivering high culinary standards, it is designed to provide a flexible experience for guests who might want to join us for a date, grab a quick lunch, catch up with a group of friends, or visit with their families.

DOSA is perennially amazing. The interiors. The staff. The innovative cuisine. They even have a sugarcane press! Vegetarians and vegans rejoice. I'm in love. BE HERE

Outstanding dosas, cocktails, and more in a great space with friendly staff. Large portions and plenty of veggie and vegan options. Chai could be brighter and less sweet, but it's the first week; they've got time to work out the kinks. Love the view into the kitchen, too!
