Dotori is a buzzing, cash-only haven in Finsbury Park, serving up delectable Japanese and Korean dishes in a cozy, bustling atmosphere.
"Dotori is a mile a minute Korean and Japanese restaurant in Finsbury Park where nobody gives a flying fart about what you’re wearing or who you’re with. The reason being is that this no-reservations spot is far too busy seating people queuing outside, putting down portions of their sizzling bibimbap, or taking pick-up orders for the lazy sods who can’t be bothered to wait 10 minutes for a seat (us). We tend to stick to the Korean menu, although you’ll be content here regardless. Just bear in mind it’s cash-only." - Jake Oliver, Rianne Shlebak
"The way to do Dotori is to turn up at 5pm on the dot. That’s because this no-reservations, cash-only, Korean and Japanese restaurant is pretty much always teeming by 6pm. The reason being is that this Finsbury Park spot makes some very tasty food. The Korean menu is our favourite and soup-wise, you’ll want to be looking at the enormous yukgejang—it’s a spicy beef broth filled with beef and vegetables—but there are some excellent tofu options as well." - oliver feldman, heidi lauth beasley, jake missing
"The Parkland Walk/Finsbury Park During the peak of various lockdowns, the Parkland Walk—which goes from Finsbury Park, through Highgate Woods, up to Alexandra Palace (or vice versa)—was busier than the railroad that cuts through Glastonbury. But for roaming teenagers and energetic four-legged friends, it’s been a constant for forever. For a meal before or after, Finsbury Park and Dotori is your best bet. The Korean and Japanese spot is always buzzing and there’s guaranteed to be a little crowd outside, baying to get in and dig into its haemul pajeon and sizzling bulgogi. It’s only open for lunch on Fridays and Saturdays, so it’s worth calling ahead if you don’t want tired legs to be disappointed." - rianne shlebak, daisy meager, sinead cranna, jake missing
"Dotori is a little cash-only Korean and Japanese spot that can blend into the surrounding mayhem of Finsbury Park if you’re not looking out for it. Once you do though, you’ll find that a number of other people have the same thing in mind: going here. This place almost always has a queue out the door. It’s one of those restaurants that you’ll take someone to once and then they’ll come back again, probably without you. We tend to stick to the Korean menu, the seafood pancake and also the yukgejang are favourites - though the Japanese stuff is fine too." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing
"The most incredible tiny little pan-Asian restaurant just near the station. They do the best Prawn tempura you'll find!" - @robbie.sa.food" - PRINT_COLLECTIVE
