"This Jefferson Parish favorite has a bunch of locations, all of which seem to have that proto-diner essence down pat despite opening in the ’90s. While none of them are currently 24/7, they remain an important part of late-night dining, particularly the location right by Ochsner. The blue plate specials include a country-fried steak and a catfish plate topped with Crawfish Julie sauce, two specialties that help define this mini-chain." - Clair Lorell, Eater Staff

Great Diner! Service is always wonderful and the epitome of Southern Hospitality. Coffee is good, they have a simple yet good menu with neat variations. Today I had a good cheeseburger while my friend had the B9, a breakfast combo with chicken fried steak, hash browns and eggs. The fries were delicious, crispy and just right on salt. I've been a few times before and Dot's has never disappointed. Very much a classic diner near New Orleans!

This place was really good. Quantity food. Very affordable. Around $12-13 for a plate full of meat, eggs, toast, and hashbrowns. Jefferson I believe was our server and she was so sweet and attentive. The whole atmosphere of the diner is retro and "blast from the past" but in a cool way. Will definitely be back.

Updated: I tried calling to place a to go order. No answer. I drove over and went in to order about 7:45am and only one young lady was working and they were very busy. Not answering the phone - understood and forgiven. She took my order within a few minutes and gave me about a 15 minute wait time. My food was ready around that time. I took the takeout home and dug in. I found a thick plastic string in my hashbrowns (see pictures). It wasn't a hair, a bug, or anything truly gross, so I removed it and ate my food. After eating I called and talked to Asst Mgr Kaitlyn. She kindly apologized, said she would notify the kitchen, and told me to ask for her if or when I return. I have all 5 stars for food, service, and atmosphere, but 4 stars for the general rating of the store because of the plastic string. I don't expect free food and not looking for a lawsuit. Without the plastic string, this would be a perfect all-around 5 star rating with no derogatory pictures attached. People make mistakes. Forgiven. But it still happened. Thanks for being kind Kaitlyn! EDIT: I've been back 6 times since without incident. I finally caught up with Kaitlyn, and she was very kind. I've updated my review to all 5 stars. If you're looking for a great diner with a "mom and pop" vibe/atmosphere, with great service and good food, then I highly recommend this location of Dot's Diner!

We just love Dot’s Diner - Near Ochsner. It is set up and looks like the wonderful old diners we used to frequent years ago. The decor is lively and fun with a friendly atmosphere and great table service. The menu is breakfast and lunch and they have a varied selection of both. The food is great and it’s a very pleasant overall experience.

First time to this location, and it seems more spacious than others. Nice and clean. And of course the food was great. I had the Who Dot burger, which I hadn't had in a long time. It did not disappoint! My wife wanted to try something different, so she got the Hamburger Steak! Well, different from what she normally gets at a Dot's anyway. She loved it! Afterwards we tried their cobbler au la mode. The blackberry was great! The Peach was ok but had a slight funny taste like crawfish?. But other than that, we enjoy this place.

This? Now THIS is a diner. Hands down, 5 star service and 50 star food. Really glad I decided on Dots Diner for breakfast from all the other options. Didn’t want generic Waffle House while in New Orleans, didn’t want to risk going to a diner with possibly rough service, chose this based on the reviews and they did not disappoint!
