Lunch specials for 7.50 includes tax. It was tasty!

Was not informed over the phone about cash transactions only. Arrived there was given attitude for not having cash. Left the establishment to go across the way to get cash from an ATM where I was charged a service fee then was told I was a liar and that I was informed it was communicated it was cash only. If that was the case I would of canceled the order but I was an adult about the situation got the cash and returned to get my food and was then pressured into leaving a tip as if I didn't just have to go out of my way to purchase this food. I will not dine here again.

Cleanest chinese restaurant in capital region!! I don’t understand why this restaurant has bad reviews but their food definitely worth to try! I was hesitating because of their google reviews but I wish I would tried before!!

I'm not sure if they gave me the wrong order. But what I ate was a no way sesame chicken. I read it that two stars and that's being generous And they don't take cards only cash

Last week worst Chinese meal ever! Lunch special to go egg foo young and egg roll, soup and fried rice. egg roll was saturated with oil, absolutely disgusting. We have had hundreds of egg rollsAnd know how they should be cooked. Rice was tasteless and not seasoned. Egg foo young was very greasy and not cooked properly and had very few shrimps in it. the sauce or gravy on the side was absolutely disgusting and the worst ever. After many years going to this place, we will never go again!!!. They don't care about quality at all and do NOT know how to cook Chinese food properly.

Half hour wait for pickup, no advance notice that they are cash only, and THIS is what we received as 'Chicken Chow Mein'. Called back to see if it could be replaced with something edible and less resembling snot and were told that it's supposed to look like that and we must have ordered the wrong thing. They were going to charge us to replace it! Never again 🤮

We always call in our order for pick up. They don't have any delivery service. Cash only transactions. From 11-3:00 is lunch lower prices. Restaurant is small but has two tables if you want to dine in. Food is always cook to order and hot to eat. ALL Chinese restaurants have been cutting back on ingredients for fried rice, soups and sauces either by cost efficiency or from product availability issues. Otherwise tasty.

We have ordered from this same place double dragon for years. This is most definitely the best Chinese food in town. We ordered chicken and mix veggies, wonton soup. egg rolls, fried wontons, general tsos chicken and also some boneless spare ribs. The veggies were cooked perfectly. The soup is very tasty and so were the other foods. The general tsos sauce is by far one of the best sauces i have ever had. Also the customer service was great. We go every Saturday morning and the little boy that works there every Saturday morning always has the best customer service and i would always tip him big. The new appearance in the restaurant makes thee restaurant look so much nicer. 5 starts for double dragon.

This restaurant has been around for a long time. They always have the best quality and best portions when it comes to Chinese food up here in Albany. Service is always very quick unless it's a holiday and they get really busy. They will usually give you a a time frame of when the food will be ready for pick up. My favorite is their general Tso's chicken and cheese wontons. Prices are insanely cheap for today's economy. I can't even go to McDonald's without spending $50 on my family of four. At double dragon, $50 goes a very long way! Cash only!! Great customer service by the family who runs the whole restaurant.

I'm lucky to live close to Double Dragon! The food is always fresh & delicious. The lunch specials are very reasonably priced & the portions are large. You get a choice of soup or soda. Go with the soup! Their chicken noodle soup is THE best!!!

This is our favorite Chinese Restaurant....they used to be opened on Christmas Day and we ordered dinner for 12....everybody just picked from the menu..They took home whatever they didn't finish. No cleanup except forks. Kate

Decent food. Ready at time stated. New lobby looks great. Cash only business but worth the hassle.

I never leave bad reviews but they have earned this one. I placed an order for two orders of egg foo young. I got home and they forgot the gravy. I do not live near the restaurant and could not go back to get the sauce. When I called they knew they forgot the sauce, but their solution was to offer me a 15% discount on my next order. I told them that was not acceptable, as the order was wrong and then they offered a refund for one order...still not acceptable, the meal was not right and who wants egg foo young without the gravy. I wanted both orders refunded, or the gravy delivered. Neither would they do. They admitted their mistake but would not do the right thing and expected me to pay for their mistake. So, this review. I will never go back, I paid cash and left a tip for food that won't be enjoyed, and I told them I would write this review. Check your order before you leave, because they will not do right by you if they mess up.

Double Dragon Chinese food is always consistent and a decent place to get takeout. Nothing fancy nothing pricey, just takeout Chinese food. Just expect a little bit of a way to be busy all the time now.

Good food. Cash only so always keep that in mind when ordering. Check your order- we were missing a few things last time, but it was a large order so I understand it happens!

This place should be shut down! They are back to lying to customers when I called to order two items to be picked up. When I arrived 30 minutes later, the time the little girl who takes the orders told me to arrive, she told me that they were running late and had NO idea when my food would be ready. It was 40 minutes later, so I decided to make the owners and the counter feel the anger of all the waiting customer( a room full) by confronting the counter girl and owner about their deception. Lots of apologies. This went on over a year ago when I stopped going there. They are still at it. As I was leaving I heard a customer being told that her order of shrimp was not included, because they ran out of shrimp. Actually they ran out of bok choy. Chinese don't used celery, they use bok choy. I cannot see any reason to every order here, for you and me. The food is at best a 2 out of 5 and their willingness to lie to take an order which they would not have gotten if they told the truth, means that nothing they tell is to be believed. In a lifetime, this is at the bottom of behavior in restaurants. Never eat here.

Double Dragon is a classic! This Chinese takeout restaurant has been around since I was in high school in the early 90s, one of the original tenants at Columbia Plaza which is anchored by a Price Chopper Super Center that opened in May 1988. Not sure if this place was named after the popular video game at the time, maybe a coincidence with great timing. Double Dragon was also one of my favorite video games at the arcade and for my NES. I spent many hours back in the day trying to master the game giving me a sore case of "nin-tendon-itis." ouch! Okay, the Chinese food here is very tasty specializing in Saechuan, Hunan, & Cantonese style dishes and they also offer special combination plates at very reasonable prices. The place is order at the counter with an open kitchen and table seating for dine-in. Lunchtime here can get quite busy. That's because Double Dragon currently offers 40 Special Luncheon Platters served with pork fried rice and choice of soup or can of soda, each only $3.99 plus tax (11AM-3PM daily). The service in the kitchen is fast and the portions are very generous and tasty. I get the L21 Shrimp Lo Mein with pork fried rice and a pint of hot & sour soup. The pork fried rice is light in color and taste, the hot & sour soup has more of a sweet taste than spicy. The lo mein has firm noodles with a good amount of shrimp. I can split the food up and have it for both lunch and dinner, a lot of yummy food for under $5!

While traveling for work I attempted to get take out. Once I saw the sign saying they didn't accept credit cards I was forced to go some where else. The 1 star rating is because this sign was a 4" x 6" sign partly hidden behind the cash register and I wasted 10 minutes waiting to order.

best Chinese in eastern washington, so happy they opened back up. lots of food at a great price.

They are quick and cheap, easy to understand on the phone. The food is ok. Pretty typical American style Chinese. My vegetable fried rice is just yellow rice with onion. The tofu is pretty dry and the general tso flavor was overpowered by onion. My husband said his his chicken was good. We ordered 3 meals so they gave us 2 free vegetable rolls. It's just cabbage but they're decent. This place is ok. It's good if you don't want to spend a lot and need something quick

Average, Bland American Chines Food. The service was fast and friendly. The food was lacking any flavor. I ordered chicken with broccoli and there was just no flavor. The egg rolls were tasty. They do have a small seating area, that came in handy while waiting for the food. Keep in mind when ordering, they only take cash or at least that is what we were told.

The food is amazing the water was a kiss from the heavens the fried dumplings felt like I got rocked like a baby why I was eating them the mixed vegetables tasted so good and I'll order every time the water they give feel like they got it from a river that was made out of good it was so good

This chinese take out restaurant has been serving the East Greenbush area for a little over 30 years. This was the very first place I ever had chinese food and I became hooked. Back then they even had the double dragon arcade cabinet you could play while waiting for your food. Chinese food was always a treat. Tonight I had my go to General Zaos chicken. The portions of chicken were large and very good. Not a ton od breading and mostly meat. The pork fried rice was a little bland. It was much better back in the day. Also I found the rice to be a bit sticky. The egg roll is just a typical chinese take out eggroll. Quite a bit of cabage inside. Any Double Dragon is a go to place in EG for cheap chinese take out. A decent meal for less than 10 bucks.

Would give one star but it's a local business and they could get better. I'm not going into detail just to be nice but people, please use better ingredients and work on flavor.

I love this place. My friends and I frequent the place often for their lunch specials. You get a huge portion of very tasty food along with either soup or soda for just $3.99.... a bargain. The staff is generally friendly and the food always tastes good to me.... I've never had a bad meal from this place, though one time I asked for plain fried rice and got pork fried rice (which is fine, it was good too). They take cash or check only, which is one way they keep their prices down. There are so few places to go to anymore where I can get a full meal with soup and an additional can of soda for around $5.00. How there are any other Chinese restaurants open in the area to compete with this is beyond me, because Double Dragon tastes the best out of all of them.

Quite honestly this Chinese restaurant is really good for giving me free egg rolls. I don't know why but they always do. But aside from the free egg rolls their food is unfortunately below sub par for me. No matter what all I taste when I eat there is peanuts? Why peanuts? The lo mein is always bland with toooooooo much celery in it. Like, the overall vegetable to noodle ratio is very off with tons of veggies in BEEF lo mein. I don't understand. And the chicken always seems to be old and dry. -an unsatisfied yet addicted customer. ** two stars for the free egg rolls

I got broccoli and brown sauce. I just have to say that this is probably the best brown sauce I've had at a Chinese restaurant. The broccoli was cooked perfectly & the service was excellent!

Used to love this place,it has steadily been going down for over a year. Stopped tonight for quick bite lo mein and fried rice were cold, honey chicken was undercooked. Pepper chicken was rubbery, so one wasn't cooked enough one over cooked. Decided to try fruit watermelon and pineapple were not ripe. I gave up. $37 for two adults and a child way too much for leaving hungry.

We have been ordering from here for a number of years. Beef and broccoli is very tasteful and the ribs are delicious. The roast pork fried rice is great. You get free egg rolls based on how much food is ordered. Cost is reasonable but beware they do not accept any credit or debit cards.

For $3.99 lunch take out, you can't beat this deal with a stick. You get a choice of about 30 dishes including those with shrimp at no extra charge, a pint of soup (or eggroll) and your choice of white or pork fried rice. I had the shrimp with garlic sauce and curry shrimp. Each dish had about 8-10 medium/large shrimp and was done up right. They give you plenty of fried rice so if you aren't full after the soup and entree, that fried rice will have you leaving satisfied. Excellent value for a good meal. When it's time to visit family up in this area, there aren't a whole lot of decent dining options so I usually grab an extra lunch to go for me to heat up later that evening.

I used to really enjoy Double Dragon. I've ordered from there 10-15 times int the past 3 years. In the past few months (since November '09), the food has been inconsistent, with the noodle dishes looking and tasting totally different from one order to the next, and going from spicy to totally bland. I've also called in an order, been told 30 minutes, go to pick it up, and wait an additional 20-30 minutes. When that happens, I've been given free egg rolls as compensation, but since I don't eat meat, I can't eat them. I'd try them one more time before writing them off for good, because when I lived in Forrest Pointe, they were my first choice, and when I moved back to East Greenbush in July, I was excited to have them again, but haven't been happy the last few times.

Not bad at all! Fresh and is exactly what it says it is. Routine run of a mill Chinese take out. Nothing fancy, they just fill the gap perfectly. One of the problems I see with yelp is people tend to compare run of a mill take out to sit down. It's like comparing olive garden to your mom's cooking. This place is not gourmet, you are not going to get home-aid sauces and fancy cut vegetables, it is a basic Chinese take out place. The food is fresh, plentiful and has the type of flavor you would expect from sauces that are mass produced. The oil is changed regularly, the food does not taste smokey. Most importantly I have I have been back a few times and it has been consistently good and fresh. Rice is not overcooked and fried rice is not too oily. Give it a try!

Literally the best Chinese takeout in the area. There is no other that has the same quality of food. The price for the lunch special is phenomenal. The food itself is amazing.

Worst experience I've had at a fast food place. I called and ordered ahead, the person on the phone was extremely short with me and rude. When I got there they told me they didn't accept any type of credit card and I didn't have any cash on me. They didn't have an ATM. This is 2017, it's ridiculous that they don't accept cards. The food is not good and they didn't even give me any sauce. Not to even mention it's overpriced

If I could, I would have given this place negative stars. This place does have cheap food and 30+ varieties but it comes with poor quality and who-knows-what in the food (as experienced by many other reviewers on yelp). I ordered veggie lomein and specifically mentioned to the person at the counter multiple times to ensure there is no meat. While eating, I noticed meat in the food which was shocking and unethical especially when the manager was told that the food should have no meat. When I complained about this to the manager (Jerry Guo), he responded as: Anything can happen, I don't care, It is not my problem, and I cannot help it (his exact words). This rudeness and complete disregard for quality of food, cooking and customer service is unacceptable in a civilized society. Any self-respecting individual who cares about what is going in his/her body should rethink infinite number of times before even entering this place.

Living very close to the shopping center, Double Dragon has been our go to Chinese take out since they have opened. We have been getting take out at least two times a month since they have been open. The food is ALWAYS cooked fresh and still too hot to eat when we get home. A good problem to have. The service there has been excellent every single time. Love love love this place!!!

This place was terrible. Literally everything we ordered seemed like it came from the freezer section of Sam's Club. The biggest clue should have been when we opened the sesame chicken and the pieces of chicken were all the exact same shape and size (reminiscent of fast food chicken nuggets) and simply tossed with sauce and sesame seeds. All white meat. Both clues that it came from a freezer bag. I seriously question the people that have given this place good reviews. As an added bonus, my husband and I both had very sour stomachs for 24 hours after eating it. Save your money and your stomach and skip this place.

Amazing food! And it comes to us quickly and still hot from Albany to East Greenbush. Definitely my son's favorite and our go-to Chinese spot, even though we Herve a restaurant 3 minutes down the hill from us. Kudos.

Worst food ever. I stopped in, ordered, and ran a quick errand. I was back on time, my food was ready and was hot. On the way home, I snacked on a fried wonton. Not only did it have very little flavor, but it was doughy and the meat filling was slimy. At home, I ate part of an egg roll. Again, no flavor. Both the wontons and the egg roll had a background sweetness that put me off. It was not salty, spicy, or tasty. It was nothing. I ordered beef lo mein. Oily, tasteless, and a weird texture to the meat. The last dish was beef with oyster sauce. It did not taste like oyster sauce at all. It tasted like a brown gravy. I threw out most of this meal and have been trying to digest what little I did eat ever since. Pass this by.

Food was as to be expected. Nothing that stood out as fabulous but not bad either. A small group of us stopped in for lunch while in the area for work. Our orders were taken quickly but the wait for our food was really long.

Obviously these people were working hard behind the counter during lunch rush. But, I can't excuse a 4 inch piece of twisted sharp metal in my vegetable lo mein! It cut the inside of my mouth up super bad, and bleeding. Obviously this wasn't on purpose, but jesus! Im never going back there again.

Best Chinese in the area. Cash only. Not great for dining in (room is small/drafty) but wonderful takeout. We usually order wonton soup, egg rolls, general tsos chicken, chicken and broccoli, and lo mein: all are consistently good. Can be a touch greasy at times, but vegetables and meats are high quality and the portions are solid.

I tried this place on a whim today and was delighted with my meal. I ordered the general tso combo which consisted of huge chunks of lightly breaded white meat chicken that you don't have to wonder if it's cat or not. The sauce was yummy but not spicy. Good heaping portion for an individual size too. And to top it off, no stomach ache or trip to the bathroom like some takeout Chinese food places. I'll definitely return here.

LOOOOVE their dumplings. love the place. You order, then while you are waiting you go play with the puppies or bunnies at the Pet Stop a couple doors down! Improve your life, eat something unhealthy and pet something cute, the perfect treat.

Best place around for take out Chinese east of the Hudson! Awesome daily lunch special of $3.99 will knock you socks off. Pint of any kind of soup and 30 choices of dishes with great pork fried rice. Huge huge portion. Great customer service and very fast. Love this place for great Chinese food and a fir price!

I can only comment on the General Tso chicken and the egg rolls, but what a nice surprise - limited breading on the chicken, white meat chicken! The egg roll was nothing to write home about, but I will definitely return to try something else on the menu next time I am craving Chinese.

Have been eating here since my middle school days. This place is constantly busy, especially during lunch rush, that should say enough. Having a quick look at the bad Yelp reviews, I see that people think they're all the most exquisite food reviewers. This is a take out Chinese restaurant. This isn't a fancy dine in experience. They have never tried to be anything else but a take out Chinese restaurant. You have to judge the place based on what it is, not what you want it to be. In conclusion, the best Chinese take out food in all of Rensselaer. Their lunch special is unmatched in price, quality, and amount of food you get.

Double Dragon is, by far, the best Chinese food in the Albany area....bar none! We have been eating Chinese since the 80's and started eating at the DD in the mid 90's after moving to East Greenbush. Joey was just a little kid at the time but has since grown to a nice young man responsible for the business end of DD. He does a GREAT job and the food is ALWAYS spot on! We have NEVER been disappointed with our order and the price is great. So, for Great food at a reasonable price there is NO place like DD.

I wish I had looked at reviews before coming. One​ person previously stated bland food, so true! What can you expect from cheap food. Then your expected to pay cash without anyone giving you notice that they don't accept cc. Chow mien was mushy. Only the chicken meal proved to have protien. Pork and beef dishes had a scattering of meat over piles of vegetables. I am not a vegetarian.

Not an avid yelper by any means, but this experience needs to be shared. For starters, when ordering take out the meal took more than twice as long as stated, causing me to miss a crucial quarter in my fantasy league. When questioning the timing, I was answered with attitude and displeasure. An hour and a half past our original consumption time, we finally opened our meals. The chips were stale, the "fried rice" was more like the rice they give away for free with some weird looking vegetables and the soup was cold. I'll give them some credit, the egg rolls were good, but any restaurant with a freezer & a frier could figure that out. Bad experience. Even worse food. And to top it off, my fortune made absolutely no sense. Not worth my fantasy league.

Best in East Greenbush after Yip's closed down. Large portions of all the favorite American style Chinese dish's. You will not leave hungry, or disappointed. Bring cash, no cards accepted.

Awful, simply awful. Paid for hot and sour soup that was just thin sweet dishwater and the "special spare rib tips" that were an inedible pile of tendon, gristle and bone! I literally had spit out more than more than I could swallow from each piece before giving up entirely and throwing it all out in disgust. This is my second try at a meal from there, never again!

Everything was great!! Food and service. Hong Kong style egg rolls, life changing. Dumplings, pork fried rice delicious!!!

I relocated to the area and have been trying out many different restaurants to find favorites of different cuisines. Currently, I am looking for a new favorite Chinese restaurant. I started to venture out and found Double Dragon. Not sure how so many folks can review this place and sing positive virtues. I ordered a variety of items to get a balanced impression. I had egg rolls, fried dumplings, hot & sour soup, and General Tso's Chicken. Unfortunately, I don't have a single positive remark to make. The egg rolls have no flavor, the dumplings are way too doughy, the hot & sour soup is too sweet and not spicy. I only ate a bit of the General Tso's chicken before giving up. Recently, I reviewed Zenbu and gave it low marks as well, but after eating at Double Dragon, I would go back to Zenbu any day.
