Double Dragon

"In this friendly "Asian canteen", sisters Katia and Tatiana Levha offer simple dishes of mixed inspiration (China, Philippines, Thailand etc) in an upgraded "street food" vein. This is cooking that is full of character, with pronounced flavours, and often deliciously spicy. A fun experience and tasty fare." - Michelin Inspector

The 15 Hottest New Restaurants in Paris

"Franco-Filipino sisters Tatiana and Katia Levha are on a roll. After the success of their nearby bistro, Le Servan, they opened Double Dragon — an instantly popular new spot serving their take on comfort food from the Philippines, Hong Kong, and elsewhere in the East. Dishes include braised beef spring rolls with shiso leaves, chilled cucumber with lemongrass, crispy chicken on rice, tofu with X.O. sauce, and caramelized pork cheeks. No reservations, so be in line when the doors open, or come late. And if you’re heading for Marseilles anytime soon, the sisters are also signing the menu at the restaurant of the new hotel Les Bords de Mer in that city." - Alexander Lobrano

8 of the Best New Restaurants in Paris in 2018 - AFAR

"Opened by the Levha sisters, this playful Asian canteen in the 11th arrondissement channels flavors from their Filipino-Thai upbringing against a neon-accented interior with a gold leaf ceiling and a domino counter. The menu delivers punchy, comforting dishes—Dynamite (extra-hot peppers stuffed with minced pork and cheese), sesame green beans with katsuobushi, sweet-and-sour chicken, and a spicy Thai salad with translucent sweet potato noodles and prawns." - Lindsey Tramuta

This is a cute restaurant in the heart of Paris! It's very small but cute and welcoming. They have open kitchen and the staff restaurant is very nice. The food is absolutely outstanding. We've been served the most delicious salad, so simple with few ingredients but very good. The pork is simple but perfectly cooked with crispy skin. The cauliflower was also very good and the dessert was just the cherry on top of already a perfect lunch! We devoured everything! We spent 40€ each that for the amount if food, the service and the atmosphere I would say it is on the cheaper side of things!

Was recommended this place by friends- we started off with bao fried balls with cheese inside and a kimchi mayo that was divine!! Definitely the plate I saw being ordered the most. Followed by mussels that had a spicy sauce that was delicious. We ordered then the fried chicken and green beans- chicken was hot and fresh definitely a must try.. green beans were good but my least favorite dish of the night! Our desert was a cinnamon donut like pastry that was incredibly fluffy with coconut ice cream (must have) we will be returning!! The service was also very kind and accomodating :)

Will definitely come back! The food comes in small portion and we shared everything, its very tasty and comes out of the kitchen fast! Its a mix of different asian cuisine, my favorite was the Korean fried chicken and the scallop bites.

I was walking hungry on Rue Saint-Maur in Paris at noon when I came across this restaurant. You could see the kitchen activities through the glass and to be honest, that attracted me, of course, plus the menu behind the window. I had a very good experience, because I usually prefer to eat fish to control my cholesterol, and I was served one of the most delicious fish. Fresh and well-cooked, the roasted fennel and the juicy side of the fish were perfect. Along with a small bottle of warm sake served in a beautiful little glass and a first-class mango ice cream dessert. The prices are very reasonable for the quality. I will definitely go back to the Double Dragons restaurant to experience the food again. The attitude of the staff and the service are very good, my only complaint might be the decoration of the shop. I understand that the restaurant is supposed to be close to the spirit of Asian restaurants and simplicity and minimalism are crucial , but I wish better paintings were chosen for the decorations!

The menu is a well thought menu to be able to discover Filipino food. As a Pinoy, I really enjoyed the Tortal Talong (eggplant dipped in egg) and the fried chicken. I also had the Onglet Adobo and was so so pleased by the taste. The reason why I didn’t give it 10/10 was because of the dryness of the Crispy Pata… it wasn’t fresh and was a bit of a let down. The Pinoy warmth and service was sadly missing- if not to end on a good note, I recommend the restaurant and its various menus !

Excellent food and cool vibe - could easily be in Brooklyn or LA. Portions were generally *very* generous for the price... we over-ordered because we like to try a lot of things, and had quite a bit leftover. Drinks were complex and delicious. There were no bad bites!! A total highlight of our trip to Paris. Thank you for a great experience.

One of the best and favorite restaurants in Paris. It’s a fusion of Philippine and French food, and all the dishes are so delicious. The restaurant was packed when we got there. I highly recommend making a booking before going. We loved the beef tartare and BBQ chicken. The flavors were unique, the meat was tender, and the chicken was well-seasoned. We also loved the rice bowl with bacon, eggs, and crispy garlic. It was so good that we had to order it again. We will definitely come back next time and cannot wait to try other dishes. Thank you!

Really tasty food. Went for a mixture of dishes and they were all excellent. Good natural wine selection as well. Service was very good too. Will be back soon!

Yelp
Double Dragon is owned by the same two sisters that own Le Servan just down the road from Double Dragon. After eating at Le Servan, we were recommended to stop by Double Dragon. Being Filipino myself, I was very intrigued by the offerings at Double Dragon. I was quickly impressed when I saw crispy pata on the menu. Accompanied by the well curated Asian menu is a great selection of natural wines from different regions of France. It was a great experience to pair wine with Asian food. Great place! I would visit again. Ansel Ponce Diama

Yelp
This was the first restaurant we visited in our Paris stint and to say we were excited to finally have some updated, creative Parisian cuisine would be an understatement. And to finally have some updated, creative Parisian cuisine at a place with as much "buzz" as Double Dragon? Well that was just icing on the cake. So how was it? It was decent I guess- nothing to write home about. I would've rather had French food or Chinese food separately. This version of Asian fusion wasn't as good as either of the cuisines it combined. The restaurant was a bit tight and crowded and all the other patrons seemed to really enjoy their food. Not sure what they saw that we didn't see... Service overall was good, but there are many, many (many) other Asian fusion restaurants in the U.S. that execute this style so much better. We wouldn't return.

Yelp
Great service and delicious food, though the portions are a bit smaller than what you might be used to and the prices might be a bit higher, but are still reasonable. No reservations, however, so get here as soon as possible to avoid waiting.

Yelp
So, without contest our worst meal in Paris. Every dish we ordered was... just not good. The tuna was not fresh and tasted metallic. The pickled cucumbers legit taste like jarred dill pickles you'd eat with a tuna sandwich. I was expecting pickled vegetables with an Asian flare - sesame oil, cayenne, salt and lime juice or sugar but... it tasted like canned sandwich pickles and was really uncomplimentary to our other sub par dishes. The corn was super dry, and the shrimp in the shrimp wontons were over cooked. The crab was ... a lot of oil and a lot of fried flakes of... tempura? The two of us were still hungry after our four dishes but scared to order another so we walked down the street to get a snack elsewhere. The watermelon tea was good and the service was great also so I'll give them that. The decor is clean, nice and very hip. I really wish the food was better or that there was at least one dish that was memorable.
