Austin High School Cookie Delivery Service Dough Re Mi Is Closing | Eater Austin

"Run by high school students Sarah Zeng and Alice Huang, Dough Re Mi was a cookie delivery service that began in spring 2020 to raise money for people affected by COVID and will cease deliveries on Saturday, August 6 as the founders head to Rice University and UC Berkeley; they described halting the service as “definitely bittersweet,” calling the experience an amazing lesson in entrepreneurship, teamwork, and practical life skills. The business offered small cookies in classic flavors like chocolate chip and peanut butter as well as specialties such as matcha-white-chocolate-macadamia and a chocolate cookie topped with buttercream frosting, sprinkles, and a cherry, plus vegan and gluten-free variations and dog treats. The duo initially donated 80% of proceeds to All Together ATX and later directed that same percentage to United Way, and they handled deliveries and pickups on Saturdays with orders available now until the final delivery date." - Nadia Chaudhury

Google
Cute little place, the man behind the counter was very polite and communicated well. Price is very fair especially for how good their baked items are. Seemed to have drinks (coffee and tea) and a lunch menu, the lunch was fantastic, We got the blackened chicken salad sandwich. The bread was amazing and perfectly toasted, chicken salad was seasoned to perfection. We got a cranberry lime scone, it was hands down the BEST scone I’ve ever had. The flavors mixed together so perfectly, and we of course got a couple cookies with it, the peanut butter sandwich cookies were very big and quite savory. They also had signs on the baked goods to tell you if they were gluten-free or not. Good little bakery.

Google
Love this place! I needed pastries for an anniversary brunch for my sorority, and Dough Rei Mi made the process so easy! They picked out an assortment of pastries and flavors for me and everything was a huge hit! I swear everything actually vanished! Also Daniel was super great at communicating and was so flexible as I figured out who would be able to pick up the order and when.

Google
As an artist that sells there, I was pleased to take time to work on my art for a few hours there with a coffee. Charming atmosphere, no doubt. Signs are charming on the door. "Please Loiter" "IF you have no shirt, no shoes, we will find you some." Always enlightening conversation, out-of-this world desserts, and sometimes a soup dish. One of the best places for a reset of energies in Buckhannon.

Heather is so nice. Love this litle town coffee shop, just what we needed and in the summer or whenever she has if her cold brew is really good too! Love it and her Elderberry Muffins too when in season. Yum!

Google
Great baked goods, even better coffee. Staff is kind and friendly. Local art, used books, and music supplies too. Everything you could ask for in a neighborhood coffee shop. Buckhannon is lucky to have this place.

Google
Excellent store. Everything from hand-crafted items, delicious baked goods, to some of the best coffee I've ever had. The owner constantly strives to help the community in any way she can. You won't regret coming here.

Google
Popped in on a TH morning in June while staying in town for a few days. Great cup’a coffee and delicious sweet goods (baked in their kitchen). The kind of place every neighborhood oughta’ have.

Yelp
Such a cute little bakery in Buckhannon. I've had pastries from here as well and they have been delicious but this time I opted for lunch. I think it's one soup and one sandwich each day. The sandwich was wonderful! Light but filling! Side of soup was nice too. Prices are very reasonable and service as quick.

Eclectic shop. Many rooms. Great pastries. Sunny dispositions. Usually a stop whenever we're in town.

Yelp
Excellent little neighborhood stop! Coffee can't be beat, haven't had a lunch special or soup yet that's hasn't been super tasty. This isn't a fancy cappuccino shop but a great little coffee hangout with fresh made food. Quiet, friendly, neighborhood staple. Oh - and the baked goods are delightful! The gluten free selection is a nice touch.

Yelp
So I was COMPLETELY impressed with the customer service while on the phone just placing my order...today I received a picture of the cake that was created... the creativity blew my mind...using strawberries instead of icing for roses!!! Brilliant!!! I can't wait to order something else from this bakery!!!

Yelp
This is definitely a great little shop just a block from the campus of West Virginia Wesleyan College. Plenty of street parking, some free WiFi(you have to ask for the password), a nice spacious table to set down and do some work. This would be a great location to start your mornings. You can pick up some locally generated food stuffs and crafts as well. First the coffee, they serve freshly roasted, ground and poured over coffee that was locally roasted by Mountain Roasters in Buckhannon. This is a fantastic way to start your day off properly caffeinated and flavored. Ask for the Ethopia Yergecheffe, it's dark and delicious. They also do a cold brew Ice Coffee; which their choice of coffee is perfect, no need for sugar or cream. It's a perfect blend of flavor. Second the bakery, DRM bakes everything fresh in house and focuses on using local and organic ingredients. You get both the environmental advantages of organic and knowledge that all of your money is staying as close to as possible Buckhannon. And that's only second to the taste. The currant scones are fantastic, perfect scone texture and just enough flavor to pair with your coffee/tea. We had a the chancy to try the DRM hallmark "puffin", which is a pie in muffin form. I was able to have one the blueberry and one of the strawberry puffins. They were excellent, the filling is just sweet enough and the flaky crust is buttery and delicious. They've started offering some great granola bars too. So, grab a nice hearty snack on your way out! Oh, and while you're at it, take home some freshly baked boule(ball of bread). It makes some great french toast at home. We got some wheat boule and it made great sandwiches to enjoy at home. Definitely think DRM when you looking for a local bakery with great coffee.

Yelp
What a hidden gem! This little coffee shop and bakery makes gluten free treats with ease, takes orders, has a soup of the day and even makes their own coffee syrups. Pre-pandemic they invite you to loiter, but of course that's different now. There are a few local artists who sell prints, cards, jewelry, honey and more in this shop. The owners are very kind and care about the community which is made clear by the community shelf that contains various free items for those in need and the shelf of small tools for loan. This is one of my favorite places!

Yelp
EVERYTHING here is amazing! The coffee is incomparable, the muffins are perfect, the pretzel rolls are delicious, AND...Heather is one of the nicest human beings I've ever met.

Yelp
These baked goods could easily exist in a major metropolitan area. There is a cake goddess here, and you'd do well to pay her homage. Lunch specials are invariably great, and change every week. One option for soup. One option for sandwich. You think you want more variety? You don't.

Yelp
The staff was super friendly and very helpful in describing cool activities in the area. Add to that the coffee was top-shelf and the interior was fun and eclectic. 10/10 would definitely come back!
