"We wake up at least once a week thinking: “Doughnut Plant sounds good today.” The hefty yeast donuts, with their slightly dense, spongy, and chewy texture, made this place well-known. But don’t ignore their other types like the sourdough, cake, and mini filled ones. Some of our favorites are the coconut cream, tres leches, and the crème brûlée, which gets the brittle, somewhat bitter caramelized top layer just right. They have multiple locations throughout the city, but we prefer their original spot on the Lower East Side." - molly fitzpatrick, carlo mantuano, sonal shah, neha talreja, kenny yang

Google
Such a cool place with plenty of flavors for donuts and the staff was very nice! I had the wild blueberry, peanut butter jam, pistachio. A lot of sittings with fun and unique sitting very artsy!

Walked in to this Donut Plant today and am happy I did. Very nice donuts, options and offerings were first class. The service was expert and friendly too.

Google
Can’t top their doughnuts! For years they stay consistent with their freshness and creative recipes. They change their doughnuts around and it’s worth the trip every time. I have visited all locations, I can vouch it’s always a 5⭐️experience. P.s. If you’re a fan of cold brew- try theirs. I seek low acid levels in coffee and that why I love their cold brew.

Miriam Díez Jordana

Google
They have 4 vegan doughnuts: dark chocolate, salted pecan, pistachio and strawberry

Robbie Boyd

Google
Tried one of the vegan seasonal rotating donuts. The frosting was very thin, but had a lovely flavor (cranberry and orange). The donut base was sourdough and although fine for some other pastry, it just didn't feel right for a donut. Their other donuts are available in cake and yeast (fluffier) base. Which are all vegetarian (egg free), but there is a note that many of their products are made with or in the same kitchen as peanuts.

Google
Came here on a whim because they had a gluten free donut- best one I’ve ever had (and I hate cake donuts normally). Great texture, moist, and not too sweet. The person behind the counter was so sweet and friendly! 10/10

Google
Doughnut Plant Surprise While the doughnuts are the obvious draw, I swung by Doughnut Plant just for their cold brew. It didn't disappoint! Seriously good coffee, especially at that price point. The barista was an absolute gem - patient, friendly, and truly seemed to care about providing a great experience. Made the quick stop even more enjoyable. Will definitely be back - and maybe next time I'll give in to those tempting doughnuts!

Google
Walked in 15 minutes before closing. The gentleman behind the counter was polite and patient. I tried the carrot cake and pecan donut. Both were fluffy juicy and flavorful. The carrot cake donut was a little to sweet for me. But the pecan donut is a must try! I'm definitely coming back to try other donuts.

Yelp
Nothing goes better with a warm and welcoming service. Cold weather calls for something warm. Walking by and noticed this coffee donut shop on the corner. Very unique and different from your typical coffee establishment. The barista who made Cappuccino was very nice and waited for me to have a sip. Shout out for the great Cappuccino. Made my afternoon.

Yelp
AMAZING DONUTS!! Came here to right after a concert and it was an amazing experience. The donuts were everything I needed at the moment but the employee made it 100x better. Amazing service, very nice , and so helpful. Genuinely would give it a try!! They have something for everyone. It's a good grab and go place and open fairly late! Some seating space inside.

Michael C.

Yelp
This place is truly a standout for its bright, spacious, and inviting atmosphere. It's a great spot to relax with a coffee and a treat, and the staff were helpful and friendly, adding to the positive experience. As for the donuts, I was a bit underwhelmed. The Brooklyn Blackout was incredibly rich--almost too chocolatey--and the texture felt slightly underbaked. The Peanut Butter & Jam donut was decent but didn't feel special; it tasted like a standard PB&J sandwich in donut form. While the space and service are great, the donuts didn't quite live up to the hype for me. Still worth a visit if you're nearby, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it.

Tamrina M.

Yelp
So delicious. Personally loved the Brooklyn Blackout, Apple Cinnamon (GF), and Pumpkin Pie Crumble. Also tried the Tres Leches, Vanilla Bean, Snowman Doughnut, Carrot Cake, Crme Brulee, Marcona Almond (GF), and Coffee Cake. They were all good!!

Evan C.

Yelp
Quick service, bathroom and seatings available to customers. The decor is modern and cute. I've been to multiple Doughnut Plant many times and I have to say their best offering is the Tres Leches cake doughnut. It might be a bit too much for some people, but you can always share and taste their various options. We got the 30th Anniversary version of the Tres Leches doughnuts this time. It has the classic Tres Leches on the bottom and whipped Tres Leches cream filling on top. It is so good, the cream is light since it's whipped. We also got the iced matcha latte to wash it down, surprisingly very matcha-y which is really yummy. Check out their doughnuts if you are near one, I am sure you will find something to satisfy your sweet tooth's cravings.

Nicole B.

Yelp
Still worth every penny! The blueberry one has slowly but surely become one of my favorite donuts ever! It's so damn good! I also love love love the peanut butter and jelly donut. It's total perfection! It's hugged sweet, fluffy, crunchy lol. It has every element you need for a great donut. It's also messy! The peanut brittle on the outside is so good! Man! I try and treat myself every once in a while. This is always the best treat! Love love love! The staff were okay. Pretty dull imo. Only thing i disliked is i asked for a cup of water and what was given to me was very foggy. It was also hot. I could've at least gotten some ice. But. It's fine. The donuts are a 10/10! Highly recommend. See pics below

Sara B.

Yelp
We got the vanilla and jam, and peanut butter and jam, both were great! The ambiance is cute.

Jack M.

Yelp
I ordered the popular Tres Leches cake donut. I don't see the appeal. It was very similar to any other cake donut I've had. Nothing blew me away about the texture or taste. The service was quick and friendly. And the shop is quite clean and organized. But, I just didn't see the value for the price of this cake donut.

Kassie C.

Yelp
We were first attracted to this little donut shop because of its exterior artistic painting. We went in and they had so many options of donuts, and they were also huge. I love the flavor combinations they chose, and the little shop is adorable to sit and work or enjoying a cup of coffee. The service was great. She explained everything to us and all the donuts and flavors, so I really had a great experience ther

Vicky L.

Yelp
A great spot for someone who has a sweet tooth. I like that they have a variety a flavors for their donuts. Tried the Wild Blueberry donut ($4.25) and Crème Brûlée donut ($4.75) and Iced Horchata Latte ($5.50). The donuts were great for an afternoon snack. This is my first time trying horchata and it tastes similar to chia in my opinion. Staff was nice while my friend and I were taking our time to think of what to get. Seating was available and there is a bathroom.

Monica M.

Yelp
Super unique donuts and they were out of this world. Loaded with flavor and the creations they had rocked my world! I got a peanut butter and jelly I got a peanut butter and blackberry jam with a vanilla and jelly. Both were scrumptious! I would each a thousand if I wouldn't be the size of an elephant! Went here while visiting and the cashier was so sweet. She let me try their thai coffee as well, which was super strong , but perfect mixed in a latte. She gave me a free donut, while I couldn't decide between the two. I was so grateful! What a sweetheart. The place was very clean and we even met a group on a donut tour! Artwork was beautiful and they even had donut painting in the floor! Would definitely return.

Yelp
I remember being so excited when this location opened a couple of years. And for some reason, soon after they opened, they appeared to be closed indefinitely for a period of time. Even now, you can never tell if they are actually open or closed. I decided to chance it today and took home two donuts - the vegan dark chocolate sourdough donut and their famous crème brûlée donut. I'm a traditionalist when it comes to donuts. It needs to be light and airy, even the crème and jam filled ones, allowing you to pack away two in one breath. In all honesty, I really don't think a donut can get better than the ones that Dunkin makes. With the exception of mochi donuts but I digress. The vegan dark chocolate sourdough donut is as intense as a cheesecake slice from Juniors. The cakey-bready texture is filled with rich dark chocolate making the icing completely unnoticeable and unnecessary. The donut can easily be shared between two people. You could run a 10k right after this donut and it still wouldn't be enough to burn it off. The crème brûlée on the other hand was charming. It's amazing how they managed to make a donut so close to the real dessert. It's has a gorgeous caramelized top layer which cracks when you bite into it. The vanilla bean custard is soft and creamy and the donut bready part is perfectly baked into the background of it all, not seeking any of the limelight, letting the crème and bruleed top do all the talking. These two donuts set me back $10 which is steep so I would recommend doughnut plant for an occasional snack. And if you do come here, get the crème brûlée! It's their very best.

Zenda D.

Yelp
As for food the donuts were alright...but in my opinion a little bit on the greasy side...I would say it would be cool to feed my guilty pleasure every now and then. Take into account also I'm on my wellness journey so maybe someone else might be into it still high quality and tasty compared to Dunkin. The service was great I was greeted by two smiling faces , Aurora checked me out and she was very helpful and patient with me being that this was my first time here. She was a chocolate fan and I always leave the chocolate munchkins at the bottom of the box lol. She still was super helpful in picking the crowd favorites. I should have listened to her because I wasn't a fan of the peanut butter and jelly donut...I don't know why it stood out to me but it's a no =/.... but the carrot cake was good. I wish I tried the tres leches icecream she suggested ughhh next time ! The ambiance was chill it was early morning and the two ladies were chopping it up with either a worker or seemed to be a regular it created a calm cafe feel. I loved the art and how they put a lot of thought in making the cafe cozy. I wanted to stay but my bed was calling my name. Thanks for the donuts and good service

Jordan W.

Yelp
The donuts here are devilishly good.. and the servers are really sweet and helped us pick which were most popular (and they didn't disappoint). The only bummer is like most donut shops you gotta cone early!

Yulia B.

Yelp
Very cute little donut place with cute decor. I expected a wider variety of donuts though, but anyway I tried the chocolate sourdoughnut and it tasted fresh and delicious. Very different from the greasy donuts they sell at larger franchises. Did not try their drinks but I surely will next time because it seems like there's a wide variety to choose from.

Changsoo K.

Yelp
I love love love this donuts. especially vanilla cream donut and Black Forest donut. Sometimes there season donut are delicious

Maysam A.

Yelp
$3.75 for a chocolate covered donut. Neither the chocolate nor the doughnut were very good. I don't count calories or particularly try to watch my weight but I threw the doughnut away after two bites as it's not worth the sugar intake.

Ashok J.

Yelp
Doughnut Plant has the best donut flavors and varieties. Can't go wrong with any flavor. Each time I step into the shop, I get so tempted to get 1 of each. Quality of the donuts is what drives the masses here.

Martha M.

Yelp
The customer service here is top notch all 10s! I usually go to the Long Island City location when I have a craving /gatherings to attend but I accidentally ordered at this location 2 days ago before since I saw there would be a promo on the raspberry mint yeast donuts on one specific day. It turns out they ran out of them but the staff accommodated my original order with other fruit flavors that I love and threw in a few extra. Thank you Bedford Ave Doughnut Plant Team. Sincerely, a local customer :)

L M.

Yelp
I love this place and the people working are always sweet too. My favorite is the sourdoughnuts. I do wish they had nutritional info like calories

Melissa C.

Yelp
Quickest 1st trip in & out of a doughnut plant I've ever had! Usually we would have loved to sit down & enjoy our doughnuts with a drink. We chose a coconut donut, a peanut butter and jelly doughnut, a strawberry doughnut and a blackout doughnut. My daughter ate most of her strawberry doughnut and fell asleep on the way home. My son ate his blackout doughnut in one sitting and left no crumbs. I'm in doughnut heaven with my coconut doughnut. We'll probably eat the peanut butter and jelly doughnut tomorrow. Definitely a must try if you ever want to try doughnuts with a twist! Yummylicious foodie heaven!

Phil H.

Yelp
This place fits right in on Bedford Ave in hipsterville Williamsburg. As with their other locations they offer an assortment of donuts to fit everyone's palates and nutritional needs. Cake filled donuts, vegan, yeast, and gluten free. Love the blueberry, peanut butter and jam, coconut lime, and Brooklyn Blackout among others. Coffee, tea, and hot chocolate too. Some fun seating and art on the walls. Friendly service. Clean.

Katie H.

Yelp
I tried 3 donuts here during my short stay in Williamsburg, which was the first time I had visited a Doughnut Plant in a while. It's nice to see how much they've expanded since then and how many new fans they've gotten (KarissaEats, anyone?). The donuts taste pretty similar to the way I remember them 10 years ago. The tres leches donut, which was always my favorite, doesn't taste a whole lot like an actual tres leches cake, but is delicious in its own way. It's mild, sweet, and has an addictively creamy milky filling. The end result does have the pleasant moist mouthfeel of a tres leches. The matcha donut, on the other hand, was really unpleasantly dry and did not have much matcha flavor. Skip this one. The peanut butter and jelly donut is a classic, though the older I get, the less I like this one. In general, I like the cake donuts here more than the yeasted ones. My hands-down favorite was the carrot cake donut. I'm not even a big fan of carrot cake, but the nicely spiced donut just pairs so well with the cream cheese frosting, and the thin glaze layer on the outside really ties it together. It's very indulgent and delicious. The donuts aren't cheap, but given how unique and fun the flavors are, I think they're worth a try!

Blue B.

Yelp
Exceptional, as always. I've gone to a few Doughnut Plant locations around the city and can now say this one is my favorite. The staff is the same, menu the same, atmosphere and store front the same. Now the food - my doughnut melted in my mouth! Amazing experience. Get the Brooklyn Blackout if you enjoy chocolate

Zoe S.

Yelp
I can't believe it's taken me this long to review this spot! Best. Donuts. Ever. I love that they always have some sort of rotating flavors as well as a few staples that I can alway rely on. The wild blueberry is a definite staple - it's like a heavenly blueberry muffin in donut form. The donuts are always super fresh and the flavors are so creative. I love that they have gluten free and dairy free options as well. I usually order for delivery from their website but this location is perfect to pop into, as it's in the heart of downtown Williamsburg. Overall, i can't say enough good things about this place! Service is always fast and friendly. Beware if you don't want to develop a donut addiction!

Carolyn G.

Yelp
I want to say that I feel like the quality of these donuts isn't the same since they first opened but I really think it might just be this location. I walked in around 8pm and yes, towards the end of the day so can't expect the freshest donuts but the selection looked a bit sad and the donuts did not even try to taste just the least bit fresh--it was giving a day old donuts. Definitely not worth it for $13. I was also a little sad because I asked for a cappuccino and they said they stopped making coffee past a certain time.. yet it seemed that the worker had a friend because she was serving him his cup of coffee right before I asked! I probably wouldn't return here.

Lulu K.

Yelp
The place def lived up to its expectations. My favorites were actually surprisingly the dark chocolate sour dough and the cheese doughnut. But all were quite good. I was amazed by the flavor profile and the texture of the sourdough donuts. I dont normally like cake donuts but the tres leches was yummy. If I'm ever in ny again, def a spot to hit again. They know how to make doughnuts.

Olives M.

Yelp
Best doughnuts I've ever had hands down! I used to go to the Chelsea location till that spot closed down. My brother was kind enough to satisfy my pregnancy craving and brang me doughnuts from the BK location. He raved that the employees were kind and since he went early all flavors were available. I ordered the tres leche, Brooklyn blackout , coconut cream and crem brûlée. Wish the crème brûlée was a bit bigger for the price one pays. I LOVE the chelate BK blackout and coconut cream is always on point. Please open a location in the UWS or close to it

Lynn R.

Yelp
Love the doughnuts here, even thought they are a bit on the pricier side the quality makes up for it. Place is always clean but not too fond on The new staff , I've gotten my order messed up about three separate times recently.

Maria D.

Yelp
I want to give a big shout to Aurora She was so amazing go check it out its so yummy..

Mike C.

Yelp
Another new location just popped up, this time another Brooklyn one right near the L train stop on Bedford Ave. They are still some of the best in town for both cake and yeast doughnuts, so this is a great addition to the busy strip on Bedford. Definitely try the great new Sourdough Doughnuts, and the Concord Grape Doughseeds, which are only available here for now.

Kolby G.

Yelp
Vanilla Bean & Blackberry Jam - 4/5 Creme Brûlée - 4/5 Tres Leches - 4/5 Cacio e Pepe - 3/5 Donuts were pretty tasty. Didn't have much variety at this location. Not a fan of the savory Cacio e Pepe donut. Really wanted to try their Peanut Butter & Blackberry Jam donut but they were all out.

Rayana M.

Yelp
Service was fantastic, the employees are so kind. My friend and I came in around 6:15pm and got two doughnuts each and all doughnuts were low quality for the price point. I think your money could be spent better elsewhere. But it was a nice place to sit and hang out for a little bit before going back out in the city.

Jino D.

Yelp
I went in 7/15 and I'd never been before so I asked a few questions about the flavors. The worker at the counter was SO nice to me. I just wanted to shout out for them. Not to mention she was right and the donut was incredible. Thank youuuuu donut plant employee

Kristen T.

Yelp
If you're a regular customer of Doughnut Plant, here's another location in the Bedford Ave stop of Williamsburg! And it's a great addition of coffee and late night sweets shop in the neighborhood. Doughnut Plant is a specialty doughnut shop with two different styles: cake and yeast. You can definitely distinct the quality of the product and unique flavors, rotating everyday. The drinks selection is great too with quality coffee and great single brews. They also make their own Vietnamese coffee! The customer service is professional and accommodating. Accepts cash, card, and Applepay. Bathroom available. Clean! Plugs and wifi available. Open late. Bon appetit!

Ruthy M.

Yelp
They have a couple selections and seasonal items. I got the strawberry sourdough donut. The donut was sooo soft on the inside and slight crunchy around the edges. It wasn't too sweet. The shop is cute but they don't offer dine in. The cashier was very friendly. One thing is that I wished the chai latte had the option of dairy free & the time I visited this store they had no tea available. Aside from that great home made donuts.

Ann S.

Yelp
Peanut with jelly square doughnut just hit the spot Glazed was delish too! Place was nice and clean with space to sit down and enjoy Great service Easy to find parking in the evening Open late!!!!

Mark B.

Yelp
Great donuts with a wide variety of flavors and dietary options. The donuts were fresh, the staff answers questions, and the coffee is good. I see they have many locations. We went to the Bedford area location. They are not crowded, but that just means they have a fast turnover. We were among those who stayed and enjoyed our donuts and coffee for a while. Stop by and give them a try.

Breeshia W.

Yelp
Stopped by tonight to grab a doughnut. Vincent was amazing! Appreciated his kindness and customer service :) I will go back not only for the doughnuts, but for the service!

Justin J.

Yelp
This is your upscale donut shop. If you want the fancy toppings, the over-indulgent, happy place, the doughnut plant hits the spot. Their crème brûlée donut is worth trying. A sticky glaze but the vanilla bean custard on the inside is the real treat. It's definitely good, but I don't know if I would necessarily call it anything special beyond being a place that makes good, upscale donuts.

Amy L.

Yelp
Stopped by here for a sweet treat and I'm glad I did! I decided to try the coffee cake flavored donut with toasted almonds on top and the peanut butter + banana cream filled donut. The coffee cake donut was smaller and looked more plain, but that was actually my favorite. It packed so much flavor into that small donut and was simply perfection. The banana filled cream donut was also pretty good, however it did not surpass the coffee cake donut. The interior is pretty big with seating on the side. Definitely a great spot for donuts in Williamsburg!

Ashley B.

Yelp
My experience was alright. A friend and I ordeREd a donut each and they were good- nothing super memorable but it was a nice treat. I wouldn't necessarily go out out of my way to return, but if I was with someone else who wanted to stop in, I wouldn't be against it.

Farrah B.

Yelp
Doughnut Plant is always a good time, the signature decor and delicious choices. I loved the large widows with seating allowing great people watching. I purchased my favorite, the creme brûlée dough seed and it was just as tasty as ever. The staff was nice, friendly and keeping busy with customers and keeping a great vibe going with the music. I brought two friends who had never been here and they both were blown away. They ended up getting extras before they left. Im sure this place with be out of control busy when we are all back to normal.

Francesca M.

Yelp
We love donuts, so it's pretty hard not to like doughnut plant. They have really weird and cool flavors like creme brûlée, peanut butter & jelly, and wild berry. The blackout donut is one our my favorites. There are a few stores scattered around Brooklyn and NYC - definitely worth a try!

Nicole S.

Yelp
Location - Conveniently located on Bedford Ave Pricing - reasonable Staff - Always friendly, polite, & efficient. Doughnuts - Soft, fresh, & sweet. Stop by early to get the best flavors. Worth it, 5 stars. Thank me later.

Shana P.

Yelp
Tried the newest location of the Doughnut Plant today in Williamsburg and I am happy to say it is as good as the Lower East Side location, which is my fave. I'm not a fan of the Chelsea location. When I entered around 1 pm there were a few people inside eating and drinking and one or two in line. By the time I left the line had grown significantly. This place will be popular for sure! I had the tres leches doughnut and a cold brew with oat milk. The coffee was good and the doughnut was delicious. My only issue with their doughnuts is price tag. $4.00 is a bit much even for a really good doughnut. But if I'm in the mood I'll definitely go again.

Trami T.

Yelp
Cute and modern decor. The doughnuts were good and the person who took my order didn't want to make a latte, and abruptly replied back, "No latte". I asked why and she explained it was because she was the only person working and didn't want to start a line or hold up a line. There was only two other people in line, and one of them was my friend. I don't see why she couldn't take their order and then make my latte. The next time I'm back in New York, I will probably go to a different location and avoid this one.

Timothy I.

Yelp
Hipster but also delicious and adorable. Flavor/quality: 6 out of 5 Value: 3 Service: 5 Ambiance: 5 To start, we were in and out, but it was quiet, clean, and the cashier gave us a great breakdown of what to try and made some recommendations. We had no coffee (because there are dedicated cafes for that elsewhere, obviously), just the doughnuts. To clarify: we had THE BEST DOUGHNUTS EVER. I had the chocolate sourdough with chocolate glaze, and the gluten-free almond. I eat a lot of doughnuts - like, A LOT. They bring me great joy and I can differentiates the cheap (but satisfying) little greasy ones from the really quality ones. Is it sane or sustainable to pay $4 for a doughnut, like I did here? No, it is neither. Was it literally THE BEST DOUGHNUT I EVER HAD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE? Yes, yes it was. I am still daydreaming about the sourdough chocolate texture, aroma, and drool-inducing flavor almost a month after my trip. The gluten-free almond was delicate and creamy, melting in my mouth. Did I feel like a gentrifying a**hole as I ate these with my other millennial friends? Yes! Yes, I did - but the literal mouthwatering joy and ecstasy sort of made me forget about all that. Don't go here all the time (it is like $3-5 per doughnut, and that's insane) but if you really want one of the best doughnuts of your life, it is worth the indulgence.

Eliza N.

Yelp
Some of the best donuts in the New York City! The coffee is great too. I highly recommend the horchata iced latte. The donuts are amazing. They always taste fresh - I'm only a little embarrassed to say on a week long trip we went 4 days in a row! Seriously try the peanut butter and jelly donut you will not regret it! I cannot wait to go back to the city and come here every morning for donuts and coffee.
