We ordered the Caesar Salad with Chicken, Fried Calamari, and the Prime Rib Pizza. Overall, it’s a solid restaurant. Nothing mind-blowing, but we had a good meal. The Caesar Salad was good—just the right amount of dressing and Parmesan, and I loved the mushrooms in it. The calamari was okay, but the fried lemon and onion that came with it were a bit odd for my taste. I did like the generous amount of arugula, though. The Prime Rib Pizza was delicious, but definitely not the typical one. If you like arugula, you’ll probably enjoy this one. The pizza had a little kick, and the meat in it was super tender.

On our second visit to Dovetail Pizza, we knew exactly what we were coming back for—the Prime Rib Pizza. And once again, it did not disappoint! The crust was perfectly crisp, the prime rib was incredibly tender, and the flavors were just spot on. We also ordered the Wedge Salad, which was fresh and had the perfect balance of crisp lettuce and creamy dressing. The Corn Fried Calamari was a standout appetizer—light, crispy, with greens, making it a unique take on a classic dish. The Fried Shrimp Alfredo was rich and flavorful, with a perfectly creamy sauce that wasn’t too heavy. Dovetail Pizza continues to impress, and after this second visit, we’re sure it won’t be our last! ________ Dovetail Pizza impresses with its well-rounded menu, especially with the Wedge Salad, Pesto Chicken Macaroni, and Prime Rib Pizza. The Wedge Salad, with its crisp iceberg lettuce, smoky bacon, and tangy blue cheese dressing, offers a refreshing start to the meal. The Pesto Chicken Macaroni combines perfectly cooked pasta with a rich, herbaceous pesto sauce and tender chicken, delivering both comfort and flavor. The Prime Rib Pizza is the star, featuring succulent slices of prime rib and perfectly baked crust. Each dish offers a satisfying blend of flavors, making Dovetail Pizza a must-visit for any food lover.

We stopped by Dovetail on a Saturday evening around 7pm and were pleasantly surprised to find seating without any hassle. The atmosphere was on point. The music matched the space, the energy was relaxed, and it felt like the kind of place where you can actually have a conversation without shouting. We ordered the pepperoni pizza and buffalo wings and both were incredible. But what really took the experience to the next level was the service. Our server DJ was easily one of the best parts of the night. She was attentive, warm, and genuinely made us feel welcome. Her recommendations were on point, she checked in at just the right times, and she introduced us to their lineup of house made sauces. DJ’s personality brings serious value to the place. Give her a raise. Seriously. The chimichurri and chili oil were both solid, but the ricotta ranch was the star. Creamy, tangy, and honestly addictive. If you're getting wings or pizza, that sauce is a must. No complaints at all. Great food, great energy, and standout service. We will definitely be back for the meat pizza next time. Sorry I did not get a good picture of the pizza, guess you will just have to see it for yourself.

Google
I appreciate places having gluten free options, but there’s much better gluten free pizza out there. It was a $17 cheese pizza normally and then added $5 to make it gf. The crust was basically a cracker, if you like really thin crust this could be for you.

Google
They had me at fried olives and they did not disappoint! The shrimp Alfredo was yummy and had a good amount of sauce. The prime rib pizza was really good. Their homemade sesame chili oil was addictive. Great cocktail options too!

Google
The pizza was so good! The crust was amazing and we got the hot honey on the side. It was some of the best hot honey I had had! We also got the buffalo wings which were amazing (coming from avid wing lovers) and the fried olives (unique and pretty good). We 100% will be back for a nice date night

Google
Great pizza with nice outdoor seating. We had the calamari which was a little oily but the wedge salad and veggie sandwich were delicious. 10/10 would recommend. Grab the sandwiches before 3! Great happy hour as well!

Google
This was a fun date night experience... we sat outside on the patio and enjoyed dinner together. The spaghetti and Meatball (one big meatball) were delicious but over salted for my taste. The pizza are an experience that I recommend though. My husband loved the meat pizza and how it tasted and has already mentioned how he wants to take some friends from out of town here.

Yelp
Solid Italian restaurant! Both their pizza and pasta are good. I would say 2 pizzas are enough to feed 3 people, they're a good sized oval portion for the price. Both the meat pizza and the cacio e pepe pizzas were enjoyable. I actually really loved the chimichurri sauce that they provide at the table, and the chili oil is also similarly good. It was a unique touch to an Italian spot, I suppose it could be added to either the pizza or the pasta. Service was very attentive and came by our table to fill waters and check on us often. They even boxed our leftover pizza up for us in the back. There is a small parking lot to the side/behind the restaurant but it was almost full when I went.

Yelp
I came by here tonight for the first time. We loved the food so much. We got the shrimp alfredo and the pepperoni pizza. Both were insane- I also love the added touch of the chili oil and the other oil at the table. Unfortunately our service wasn't the best. At one point it had been 30 min since we had our server come over despite trying to make contact with him. The other server was very kind and ended up helping us. When our server came over I ordered the swirl soft serve with chocolate chips and when it came it was just chocolate ice cream with sprinkles. At that point I didn't want to complain- I just wanted to grab the check. Again- the server was kind- just not attentive. The other servers were also very sweet. The food was amazing and I hope to have a better experience next time.

Yelp
I want to start by saying the atmosphere here was very lovely. I would say it would make an amazing date night spot. Our waitress was super welcoming and ensured my friends and I were comfortable and had all we needed. We ordered a pizza that we shared and my other friend got the pasta. The pizza was super good and honestly a great size. The ingredients were very fresh and personally I loved that it wasn't overly saucy. Although I didn't try out the pasta it looked good and my friend had good things to say about it. Only downside is the pricing. This place is definitely on the higher end but I guess it's justifiable since the ingredients were so fresh.

Yelp
I ordered Dovetail for pickup and had a great experience! It was ready in about 15 minutes and they followed all of our modifications to a tee. Food: I love a classic pepperoni and theirs is great. I suggest getting it double cut, otherwise the pieces are quite large. The ricotta ranch is a must, it's clearly homemade and fresh each day. Ambience: I've only picked up, but the place is super cute! It looks like a great spot for date night.

Yelp
Great place! Our plate our family stopped by to have a fast dinner. We started with delicious fried castlevetrano olives along with a chopped kale salad. We had a ribeye, thin, sliced meat pizza with caramelized onions that was excellent. They sneaked in a few super hot red pepper slices! We also had a bittersweet which included kale Eggplant and thin slices of very hot red pepper. on a thin crust. This was excellent. we also had a delicious chicken parmigiana. Our server was excellent. The place was crowded, but we only waited a few minutes. An excellent time for all of us!
google avatar

Chelsea L.

Yelp
Wow! The food portions are surprisingly big. It was my first time seeing oval pizza cut like that but it works! I was able to finish whole slices. The pizza is large so I recommend sharing among 3-4 people. Although I love meat, the Cacio e Pepe stood out to me more than the meat pizza, and I loved the flavors. The meat pizza was a bit salty for me. Bolognese and chicken parm are ok, nothing special to me. Tables are kind of small so it doesn't seem to be a place for a large party. The servers are really friendly and explain what the dishes are. There is even chili oil and garlic chimichurri sauces on the table that you can add to your pastas or pizza. Dovetail has its own parking lot, which is always a plus!

Yelp
Went in for an offline offer, I'm glad that I did! Great location with lots of free parking next to the restaurant. We visited on a Thursday night and it's not super busy. Good service and great pricing. We ordered 2 pizza and one pasta and the portion is much bigger than we thought. Pizzas are really cheesy, I have never had Cacio e Pepe on a pizza and it tastes pretty good! Bolognese is delicious, couldn't go wrong it. I would recommend it if you are in the area!

Yelp
Loved visiting Dove Tail for the first time with a friend. Food and Service was absolutely amazing and the eres no reason a place like this shouldn't be packed on a weekend. Went with a friend and split a couple dishes and they were all so yummy. We especially loved the garlic bread and pizza. The wine selection was nice. The ambiance was great for South 1st. I'll definitely come back!!
google avatar

Yelp
Had a VERY yummy lunch here today. Started with the wings which were large in size and smothered in a buffalo sauce that was tasty. I actually prefer my wings a tad more spicy, but I would order these again for sure. We got a half cheese/half pepperoni pizza which was good. I'd probably give the pizza 4 stars. But the star of the show was my meatball sandwich. It was absolutely bangin'! The meatballs were spiced perfectly and the bread was delicious. I got a side of marinara to dip it in though cause I like it saucy. So good, can't wait to come back and try a chicken parm sandwich next!!!
google avatar

Emily K.

Yelp
The pizza was just not good at all this most recent trip. It was greasy and overcooked. We got the fresh mozzarella pizza to try to avoid some grease to no avail. The crust was basically a cracker. The weird shape baked on a cookie sheet made for awkward piece selection with inconsistent sizes. The appetizer menu is so limited, no meatballs, no bread options. The calamari was mostly breading. The actual calamari was so rubbery I couldn't chew it. I will be trying somewhere else when my next pizza craving hits.

Yelp
Absolutely loved the food at Dovetail! Popped in for a quick dinner before a show, and ordered the fried olives + the fresh mozzarella pizza with pepperoni added. The fried olives were served on a bed of honey; loved the salty and sweet combo of flavors! Super unique - highly recommend. The pizza was phenomenal! Drizzled with honey and balsamic vinaigrette, super fresh cheese and tasty bread. Very generous portion sizes too! We had a couple of beers with our meal and were happy campers.

Yelp
Came here for lunch. We ordered off the lunch menu, I got the Salt&Time Italian sandwich, which was honestly exactly what I have been looking for in Austin, TX. Just a SOLID sandwich, the bread was perfectly toasted, and there was a perfect amount of meat, and filling for me to be full. I also got a side caesar salad, and it was perfectly seasoned. My only gripe was sitting outside there was no umbrellas or shade at the tables, unless you sat under the awning, which had pretty stale air. I know a minor complaint, but on any other day this would've been a 5 star rating. Really enjoyed the food here at Dovetail, will definitely be back!
google avatar

Anjali S.

Yelp
Although Dovetail is a little on the expensive side, their food is absolutely out of this world. Their salads are divine and the pizza is top tier, with very unique and tasty toppings. I am gluten free and vegetarian, and their gluten free pizza is one of the best I've had in Austin. New York style, thin crust that you have to fold up to eat. They have an amazing array of sauces for dipping as well (I highly recommend the ricotta ranch). I have only over gotten delivery from Dovetail (which has always been a 10/10), but iI would not be surprised if the atmosphere is as good as the food. Definitely worth a try if you feel like a fancy pizza!

Yelp
We came for early dinner at 5 PM. It was pretty empty so great time to come if you don't wanna wait in line. The ambiance is very open and bright. Great service and our waiter gave a great recommendation on the prime rib pizza For food, we had the fried Olives with a ricotta dipping sauce and the Prime rib pizza. If you add chili crisps and chimichurri sauce, it's tastes great. The crust was light and crispy which made it seem like it was a little healthier which is good. The caramelized onions gave just the right amount of sweetness. Really loved both dishes. We'll be back to try the others.
google avatar

Lauren G.

Yelp
Great spot to eat if you do not have a reservation and do not want to wait for a table. Their pizza is great and the homemade ricotta ranch is even better! Matt James from the bachelor ate here and loved it. We sat at the bar and had a pizza and their salad. The only thing I wish they would change is adding their lunch Italian salad to their dinner menu. We look forward to continuing dining here. Great local and cute spot. Also can seat large parties if needed.
google avatar

Yelp
They have longer than most things that have been in this building. I have been quite a few times and every time I find the pizza lacking. The drinks are really good. And I love the concept behind this place. I have not found the pizza that makes me want to come back. Services spot on. You're being asked if you need anything quite often but in a good way. Price is about average of what you expect. And I swear all I talk about is parking. But it's good here. I think one of the big advantages of coming here is that it put you in a great spot on South 1st Street. From here you've got lots of dessert options right at your fingertips. And it's a really pretty walk around the area. Come for the drinks, the atmosphere, and enjoy the neighborhood.
google avatar

Jordan A.

Yelp
Overall a decent place to grab a pizza in South Austin. There's a nice patio to sit outside on when the weather allows. Staff is friendly and very helpful. The pizza is good, with flavorful and crispy crust. The topping were all delicious as well. My hang up was with the first courses that we received. The wedge salad did not seem to be super fresh and was extremely salty and heavy. The calamari barely had any calamari in it, as it was mostly fried onion. I'd return for the pizza alone.
google avatar

Kika B.

Yelp
Best pizza ever. We came from Houston and decided to try this place close to our hotel. Servers are so nice and the pizzas reminds the pizzas from my country.
google avatar

Jojuane P.

Yelp
They do pizza and it's done well. Pretty good pie. Crust holds up nicely, which I prefer. I didn't care for sauces they have on the side: chimichurri and the chili crisp. They didn't enhance the pizza to me and were boring. I would have preferred red chili flakes. Cheat code: 1/2 cheese pizza on Monday's.
google avatar

Katherine A.

Yelp
They are good for dinner, lots of vegetarian options. The wine list is great, I rec the Lambrusco at happy hour, which is before 5PM. It looks like a good spot for groups in town who want great food. Bring everyone and grab a dessert! The pizza is a MUST... any of them! Len went above and beyond and we will be coming back soon.
google avatar

Steven X.

Yelp
Not bad but a bit pricey for what it is imo. We got the calamari, a salad, and the smoked eggplant. Calamari was super interesting and delicious, also had fried artichoke as part of it. The smoked eggplant was meh, I was not a fan of the flavor tbh. Salad was great. We also got two pastas which were both just okay. Wouldn't get the spaghetti and meatballs again. It wasn't bad, it's just way too simple to cost that much. Got two pizzas, including the pork one which was great. Other one, forgot what it was, was not memorable.
google avatar

Diane K.

Yelp
Delicious pizza, oval shaped, hip, and nice ambiance. it's just a little over-priced for pizza. Great drinks, with the offering of a full bar. we had numerous appetizers, and liked the fried olives the best, they are a different twist.
google avatar

Lucy V.

Yelp
Y'all this place is delicious. You totally have to go out there and order the pizza, whichever one, and definitely order the spaghetti and meatball. The place in there super cute and it's chill. You can go on a cute little date night or just to go eat in general. The staff is super friendly and they give you good recommendations as well. They just added the Barada to their menu, which was delicious and perfect for summer weather coming in. I got spread which is really good and refreshing make it very well.
google avatar

Tiffany D.

Yelp
Although the food and service were really good; for some reason the restaurant inside was probably over 85 degrees and it was really uncomfortable to dine in there. Not sure if that day was a fluke because it was not acknowledged or addressed by the waitress but I would give this place a chance to go.
google avatar

Erica D.

Yelp
Been wanting to come here for awhile and finally came with the girls on a Sunday at 4pm so we basically had the whole place to ourselves although I hear it gets super crowded. They have a parking lot in the back which is nice and convenient. The staff were super friendly and got our order right away. We started with the fried olives which were a delicious snack with a great dipping sauce. Then got the honey crisp salad which had some meats in it - also great and a good portion to share. Now for the key part - the pizza. We did a custom make with pepperoni and mushroom on half, and sausage and caramelized onions on the other half. The pizza was definitely good but just nothing amazing. They cut the pieces in really long pieces which is fine but then the people that get stuck with the end could basically just be eating dough so I don't really care for this concept. The tomato mozz pizza was super underwhelming. There are too many great pizza options but I'm glad I checked this place off the list!
google avatar

Nisha P.

Yelp
Came here on the day of the eclipse and it wasn't as busy as we thought it would be! They have parking in the back, a beautiful indoor and outdoor patio area! We sat outside bc it was so nice outside. For appetizers we got the calamari I was so excited it was gluten free bc my partner rarely gets to eat fried items! They were yummy! I got the eggplant Parmesan sandwich! It was really good and very filling as well! My bf got the gf pizza with pepperoni and mushroom! It was okay he was happy he could eat something but it was about $30 so probs wouldn't get again for the price etc
google avatar

Roma B.

Yelp
Cute pizza restaurant in Austin! There's an adjacent parking lot with a lot of spots. Came by for HH got the lemon gin drink, Caesar salad, fresh mozarella, and cacio e pepe pizzas. The drink was very strong and not smooth. The cacio e pepe was okay, wasn't a huge fan of the snap peas on there. The fresh mozzarella was tasty though, slices were huge too! Overall, not a bad restaurant but there are other better pizza places in Austin.
google avatar

Yelp
This is one cool place Dovetail Pizza is fun and outstanding Spacious indoor and out Plenty of seating for a first date or party of 20 Fried olives; are a must The pizza was damn good Very friendly service On my visit, AC broke The dude at the door was upfront about the situation No worries Had a wonderful experience This place is going to ROCK with cooler weather Plenty of parking Overall, a must go for a fun time

Jeff M.

Yelp
PIzza was great. We had one cheese and one chicken pesto. Ambiance is wonderful. A nice alternative to Home Slice that's more relaxed with an elevated experience. Cloth napkins.
google avatar

Hayley B.

Yelp
We loved our experience here! Great food but what really stood out was the service. We loved seeing what a team effort it was, everyone stopped by to take a plate or get us another drink. Awesome spot. We got the fried olives, calamari, pep pizza, and chocolate torte. Phenomenal!!
google avatar

Riley E.

Yelp
Everything was divine. We started with the fried green olives which were the highlight of the meal. So warm and tangy with a creamy yogurt sauce, it was the perfect way to start our meal. Then we ordered the short rib pizza which was so decadent and fresh. We added hot honey and would strongly suggest that addition. Everything was very filling and the leftovers were even better the next day. The service was attentive and warm and the ambiance was beautiful. Very clean and tidy. Overall, I really enjoyed my meal and would come again.
google avatar

Eric B.

Yelp
My wife and I stopped by for dinner around 6pm on a Tuesday...pretty empty...by 7pm nearly all the tables were taken. Service declined near the end as things picked up, but they appeared to be understaffed by then. The honeycrisp salad was very memorable--best thing we had--I'd order it everytime. The pepporoni pizza was just OK by comparison...good but a little bland. The atmosphere and vibe were really nice here--a little music would have completed things well, but it felt warm and clean and pretty with some nice plants about--well thought-out and the oudoor seating looked great too. An upscale feel, some nice beers available, my wife enjoyed her Aperol Spritz, and the wine list looked pretty serviceable. All in all, worth a return to try the pastas and such as those w the salads may just be the ticket here.
google avatar

Richard E.

Yelp
Good pizza. Too expensive to be a frequent flyer. Fried olives were interesting salt bombs; the honey is odd.
google avatar

Linda M.

Yelp
We selected a pizza with red sauce, cheese mushrooms. Garlic, and shallots. Omg. It was so so yum! So sorry we devoured it too quickly for me to get a decent photo (okay, I was too hungry to take time for a pic). I wish I had because it was so pretty, and different. First, the box was a rectangle shape, which was perfect for the oval shaped pizza inside. The Triangle shaped slices were cut from one side to the other, making nice long triangles of goodness. Honestly, I've never seen one shaped or sliced in this was, but I liked it. A lot. I live fairly close to the restaurant (about a mile away), but I did not expect delivery (by Door Dash) to be so quick. About 30 minutes, and this was on a Saturday night! Shout out to the Dovetail/Door Dash team for handing me such a tasty meal!
google avatar

Lilly N.

Yelp
Friendly service, great pizza, cool atmosphere. Would definitely come back here! I'm pretty sure I got the bittersweet pizza and it was unlike anything I had tasted before but really addicting. The pizza is thin and crispy and not sure heavy by being weighed down by a bunch of cheese which I like.

Mateo G.

Yelp
The service was amazing but the food was to die for. The atmosphere was also amazing. Completely worth it to check out and have a bite to eat.
google avatar

Robert F.

Yelp
The pizza was really good ! I especially loved the airy crisp crust and my favorite part was the slice that was rounded at the end with the most crust so I could dip it in hot honey which you can ask for as a side dip. This place was clean has good service and a decent drink selection. I'd definitely recommend trying Dovetail Pizza it's not your usual mediocre pizza place the sauce they use is outstanding and you can really taste the quality in the ingredients. We had fried olives and the fried calamari and of the two I'd skip the calamari and just stick to olives or something else, in my humble opinion they are a bit skimpy for the price with the calamari . Seems like they tried to go for something similar to North Italia calamari app if you've ever had it and just didn't execute it as well. Other than that everything we ate was delicious and I will absolutely be back . Parking is pretty small but you can park somewhere close by and walk which is not that bad. Altogether a great place as you can see by all the highly rated reviews.

Slavizza G.

Yelp
This place is what I call Austin's gems, the pastas are delicious, the pizza is amazing and the staff is always super friendly, is perfect for any kind of outing with a group or date night , very casual, our favorite is the pesto pasta and the artichoke and spinach pizza
google avatar

Karl B.

Yelp
Nice little pizza joint. Friendly service. We ordered a cheese and a pepperoni. Pretty good stuff. Sort of neopolitan-ish. Decent beer list. Parking is a little tight for larger vehicles. I guess we hit it at the right time, no wait. Definitely recommend this one.
google avatar

Teri K.

Yelp
Good basic pie - interesting oval shape. This is a good neighborhood spot with decent selection of drinks, salads, appetizers, and pizza. I like the thin crust. We tried the kale salad, which was fresh, and had nice chunks of avocado. For the pie, we decided to try aged mozzarella, which was a nice twist on a classic margarita. Fast service.
google avatar

Denia V.

Yelp
Yummy pizza ; I love classic pepperoni; they are thin and slightly crispy - so delicious. Boyfriend ordered a vegan pizza - just ask for no cheese on the Bittersweet. He loved it. Roasted asparagus was delicious but didn't realize it was on bread! So definitely was carbed out! Also Vegan friendly! Lovely decor inside. Waiter was nice too! Very helpful on vegan recommendations. Is it my favorite pizza in Austin - no. But it's perfect to come enjoy at a sit down restaurant vs delivery at home.

Yelp
This is my favorite pizza in Austin. Its so freaking good. Its pricey but worth saving for

Yelp
We came on a Friday around 4:45 pm and were sat immediately. Immediately loved the interior and decor. Menu had tons of choices that all caught our eye. My husband and I already agreed we'd have to return to try the other items. We ordered: - Paloma (asked for it spicy) - Margherita Pizza - Chicken parm + side of spaghetti - Chocolate soft serve Cocktail was good. Tasted fresh. Odd choice to eat with pizza/Italian but it was so dang hot that day, I just wanted something refreshing. I liked the pizza but the dough is so thin and the buffala was pretty dense so it never stayed on (even with fork). I like my buffala mozz creamy and gooey (like in Italy). The tomatoes didn't have much flavor (they were pale/yellow-ish). But the crust was great. I would do the pepperoni instead next time. Chicken parm was bomb. Huge serving. It doesn't come with pasta so I'm glad the server asked if my husband wanted a side of spaghetti to go with it. My toddler asked if there was ice cream with sprinkles (which I thought that'd be a negative) but sure enough, they had soft serve with a selection of one topping. The chocolate soft serve had a hint of sea salt. Loved it. Getting that next time (prob do a swirl just to mix things up!). The service was great and the food was good so we'd definitely return. There's two small parking lots on either side of the restaurant. It's gotta be a disaster when it gets packed...no lines outlining the spots. I got claustrophobic trying to get out of the lot. But that's South 1st for ya. Tip: download the InKind app! When I checked out their website, I automatically closed the popup about signing up for their app because who needs more apps or marketing lists? BUT I happened to check the site a second time and decided to see what InKind was about...we scored $25 off our $75 tab. You preload the app so when it's time to pay, you just enter the check # on the app and you can pay through there. Pretty nifty and a significant savings!

Yelp
Ordered delivery from Dovetail while staying in Austin for Moto GP. We were starving when we got back to our hotel, but didn't feel like going out for dinner. We ordered a simple pepperoni pizza. It was delicious. I love the way they slice their pizzas, you get such a big slice. The only thing I did not like was the delivery of the pizza. It had been left in the hotel lobby for a little while even though i requested a text when it arrived. I don't think that is necessary the restaurants' fault, but maybe the 3rd party delivery service.

Yelp
Came across this spot doing a Yelp search on 1st street, didn't know about Dovetail but the pizza pics looked great so popped in there on a whim so we could have some fun. It can get busy here, and loud, but we found a place to sit. Went through the menu and we ordered the Calamari, Ricotta dip, and Pepperoni Pizza. So we've noticed a few trends here with the food we got. First thing is that looks can be deceiving. While the Calamari looked to be bountiful, this dish was actually filled with about 75% fried onions and 25% actual calamari, I think we got about 4-6 small calamari pieces overall. And for $16 - that's not good because fried onions are really cheap. We were very disappointed in this, the dish is also disguised with a lot of arugula on top of it. You see all the fried stuff and you're thinking - wow - good amount of calamari - but that is not the case. This was very disappointing and we won't get this again. The Ricotta looked great on the pics, it looks like a full blown cheese dip, but that's only on the top. Most of the Ricotta is filled with squash and veggie fillers, my friend said it just tasted like a squash plate and there wasn't much ricotta in it. The dish should be named Squash w/ Ricotta. Again - big letdown for us, very disappointing, we felt deceived after having these 2 dishes. The pepperoni pizza was pretty good. We liked the crust and the 2 sauces you could drizzle on it, overall it was pretty solid, so we do recommend their pizza. We thought about sharing the Gnocchi dish but based on the pics there are a lot of veggies and brussels sprouts on top and you don't see any gnocchi. We're not falling for that calamari disguise again so we skipped it. We were going to order a White Pizza to go - but we opted not to because we were so disappointed with the lack of calamari and ricotta, and the bill is now close to $60 for 3 items, so we didn't feel obligated or inclined to spend more. I think if we had a better experience with those dishes we would be more excited or incentivized to spend more money. But come on now - 4-6 small fried calamari and a ton of fried onions? The dish should be called Fried Onions complimented w/ a side of Calamari. Give the customer what they want - the value-add - a robust calamari dish please. The nice service, uplifting (yet loud) ambiance, and solid pepperoni pizza were what saved this review. It was really 2.5 stars but I rounded up to 3-stars, otherwise we're talking a 1-2 star experience here had the pizza bombed. But it didn't - so go check out their pizza. The salad selection looked great too so we may think about that next time, but to be honest we're not excited to rush back anytime soon.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite pizza places in Austin. They have a unique pizza. We had the prime rib pizza with carmelized onions arugula and ricotta cheese. Delicious!!! The pizza was perfect for the two of us and had a slice left over. Service was fantastic. The place is really nice. We sat inside but they have a nice patio area as well. If you like checking out out pizza places- highly recommend this on your list

Yelp
Eggplant Parmesan. Really wanted to like this place. I didn't have a pizza, and maybe that's where I went wrong. I had the eggplant parmesan which came as two pieces of eggplant that were probably a fourth of an inch thick with tomato sauce and cheese. $16. A side of spaghetti was an additional $6. Sadly, the eggplant was burnt - black. Hopefully their pizza is amazing. They've offered, I just don't feel a need to go back. The manager did comp the meal, but really, that doesn't change the fact that this was the only item I ordered and it came out burnt.

Yelp
I went to dovetail pizza for a quick bite and I was pretty satisfied with what I got. The interior is pretty with many art pieces hung. Our server was very helpful and attentive, giving us as much time as we needed. The menu was good but I wish there were more pizza options. Our pizza was good but a bit greasy. Overall Dovetail was good and I would go again.
