25 Iconic Dishes That Define NYC - New York - The Infatuation

"The perfect bite exists, and it consists of crisp lechón splashed with pique. At Lechonera La Isla, an East Harlem spot that’s been open since 1991, the fatty pork and sweet, vinegar-based hot sauce fuse together on an atomic level. Grab a stool at the counter in the little room with morcilla and chicharron displayed in the window, order a big platter with rice and beans, and pace yourself." - bryan kim, molly fitzpatrick, willa moore, will hartman, sonal shah

5 Delicious Caribbean Foods Worth a Trip - AFAR

"A stretch in Guavate, Cayey, famed for numerous lechoneras that specialize in whole roasted pigs; the whole animal is marinated with adobo and slow-roasted over charcoal or wood—sometimes over several days—resulting in tender meat and a prized extra-crispy skin (cuerito), and the route is a cultural focal point for holiday feasts and communal celebrations." - Jessica van Dop DeJesus

Service was great. I enjoyed the rice and the pork but not a fan of blood sausage. The view was amazing while you’re eating.

This place was recommended by a fam friend. The food wasn't warm, pig meat was dry AF, beans were runny, rice was clumpy and the food had no flavor. Overall, this placed SUCKED. This gringo was very disappointed. ✌🏾 PS, it does have a nice view of the mountains.

Deliciously flavored lechon on the side of a mountain. Offered the best view of PR out of all the lechon places we visited. Very friendly staff who went out of their way to offer my friends' babies some fruit so they could eat as well. We got some mojitos, and these were hand crafted from scratch. Everything about this place was great!
