"While the menu at this Kendall spot is extensive, it’s hard to get past the list of ceviches, which are not only perfectly prepared but also include some really fun creations that showcase regional Peruvian flavors. El charapa, for example, is a nod to the Peruvian Amazon and is seasoned with saw tooth coriander, a favorite herb from the area. In the middle of the bowl is a traditional Amazonian plantain and pork rind ball called a tacacho (kind of like mofongo), which you should break apart and use to soak up the leche de tigre from the ceviche. There are also other imaginative options like a triple-layered parfait ceviche and even deep-fried ceviche croquettes. Additionally, this is one of the best places in Miami for affordable ceviche, all of which come in under $20." - Carlos C Olaechea

Dr. Limon Ceviche Bar: A Peruvian Paradise in Miami! . MIAMI, FL - Stepping into Dr. Limon Ceviche Bar for a family night, the ambiance immediately set a wonderful tone, hinting at the culinary delights to come. From the moment we were seated, the thoughtful details began, like the welcoming fresh lime and complimentary Leche de Tigre – a delicious, invigorating pureed ceviche that was perfect on a tostone. Roasted corn kernels provided a delightful nibble while we perused the menu. . The food, as always, was phenomenal. The Remedio Casero Mix ceviche was incredibly fresh and energizing. We ventured into new territory with the Messi Roll, a rich and flavorful sushi creation with a generous crab topping, and a unique shrimp truffle sushi roll. The Causa Variety Platter offered creamy, layered potatoes with delicious toppings, and the Jalea showcased perfectly crispy, tender seafood with an excellent dipping sauce. Even a special request for Lomo Saltado with Tacu Tacu in Ají de Gallina Sauce was graciously accommodated, proving to be tender, flavorful, and a textural marvel. . The staff truly shines, warm, helpful, and patiently guiding us through the menu. Refreshing drinks like the Cucumber Mule and classic Inca Cola complemented our meal. While the Suspiro al Limon dessert was a pleasant try, it was the savory dishes that truly stole the show. Dr. Limon delivers an authentic Peruvian experience at a great price, making it a highly recommended spot we can't wait to revisit!

This was my first time, and let me tell you how very impressed I was. From the service, atmosphere, drinks, and food! They surpassed my expectations. I got a strawberry lemonade to drink, and you're probably thinking, "What's so special about a lemonade?" This was the best lemonade I've ever had! Please do not sleep on this! I promise! I was so confident in this drink that I literally got up and let my entire party of 11 try it! Lol! It was my first time trying to ceviche, and again, to my surprise, I was blown away. Delicious! Fresh! Perfection. I had the amazing sushi roll 'Messi', and I can honestly say I'll be heading back there sooner than later because I was one happy girl today. Thank you all for the amazing service today!

David was very helpful especially with our large group of 11 on Mother’s Day weekend :) Food is always wonderful here!

Google
Really loved it the attention is awesome, have to admit upon arrival waiting wasn’t as expected. However, the manager on duty Carla noticed and her attention was out of this world. Very attentive, explained or food choices perfectly. Lobster was perfect with béchamel sauce and cheese really liked their Lomo saltado a lo pobre with eggs and plantains didn’t disappointed got me wishing I ordered that for myself. Nice drinks, overall good place to eat.

Google
I ordered the mango and passion fruit juice and it was amazing. Dr. Tokyo dish with tuna, pineapple and a sweet sauce was interesting in flavor, not the traditional ceviche flavor. However, the aji amarillo ceviche was too salty that day.

Google
This place really exceeded my expectations in all possible ways. The food was amazing, very tasty and everything was cooked to perfection. The atmosphere was really nice, and although the place was full, we were greeted and accommodated right away, no waiting time whatsoever. The drinks were super nice, i tried like three different ones and loved them all, really good price too for the drinks. In addition to all the greatness about this place and its food, what really impressed me was the service. Top notch service by Luis Abeu-saleh, there’s really nothing negative to say. His recommendations were on point and his friendly attitude made our time there really special. Thank you Luis.

Google
Came with my husband and son. The food is delicious and well presented. If you are looking for good ceviche, you must come here. I am very picky with fish. I usually don’t order it in restaurants because I am always disappointed. They gave us shots of leche de tigre with our cancha. We ordered fried cargo, and 2 different styles of ceviche. I was impressed by how fresh and flavorful the food was. Prices are in the mid 20s in average. Something not on the menu could reach near 40, so be sure to check with your waiter. The place is not fancy but the food is very good. It’s not 100% authentic Peruvian flavor, because there are some fusions, but I highly recommend it.

First time I went to the restaurant and it was phenomenal. David our server was extremely attentive and super professional. I would definitely come back not only for the food but for David’s experience. Thank you

Yelp
As always, fantastic food and service at Dr. Limon! While visiting upon opening, the dining room was quite busy an hour later. We had the usual Remedio Casero Mix, and added the Messi Roll along w wine and a sangria. The ceviche was fresh and energizing. The Messi Roll was rich and full of flavor w nice layer of crab topping. I finished up w a cortadito for dessert. The staff is warm and helpful, and very patient w my hacking thru the espanol language. An added bonus was our upbeat chat with manager Carla.

Yelp
Went there for lunch and it was a good experience. I've been to the other Dr. Limon location. My ceviche had a lot of shrimp and I think it was a good value for ceviche. The staff was really nice and helpful. My server was very knowledgeable about the menu. The two cons why I have this place a 4 rather than a 5: - the tuna in my opinion had too much different flavors going on. I think it would've benefitted if the white sauce was excluded - I think the menu should make it more transparent that if you order ceviche with just shrimp it'll cost more (I don't remember the specific numbers but I think it went from $21 to $27) Other than that, I had a good experience. I'll come back to try more stuff.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious Peruvian cuisine! For appetizers, we had the Causa Variety Platter, it had delicious creamy, layered potatoes topped with delicious toppings. Then we ordered a jalea. This crispy seafood plate was served with a dipping sauce. The seafood was perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Lomo Saltado with Tacu Tacu in Ají de Gallina Sauce: Although not on the menu, they graciously prepared this combination for us, and it was absolutely worth it! The beef was tender and flavorful, paired perfectly with the ají de gallina sauce and the unique tacu tacu, which had a fantastic texture. We also ordered shrimp truffle Sushi Roll that was a unique take on sushi with Peruvian flavors. We also enjoyed a refreshing fruit smoothie, which was the ideal complement to our meal. We visited on a Wednesday night, and no reservation was needed for party of 3, which made for a relaxing evening. Highly recommend this spot if you're craving authentic Peruvian flavors for a good price!

Yelp
We thoroughly enjoyed our food at Dr. Limon. I appreciated all the little details. Every table immediately welcomes you with a fresh lime (the lime didn't stay at our table and left us longing for some). When our server arrived we were greeted with what was basically a pureed ceviche, which altbough it was a bit salty was absolutely delicious, and I recommend topping a tostone with some of this stuff. They also brought out some roasted corn kernels to nibble on. Our server was very friendly and helpful eith understanding the menu items. We ordered the Lomo Saltado, a Morongo plate, and a seafood plate. Everything was absolutely delicious. I loved all the attention to detail. The food was beautifully served, ingredients were fresh, and the portions were generous. I recommend giving their Cucumber mule a try because it was refreshing and just perfect. If alcohol is not your thing, ai was also pleased to find that they served Inca Cola, and they also have a delicious fresh frozen lemonade. For dessert we tried the suspiro al Limon. It reminded me alot of cooked condensed milk with a thin layer of a whipped cream and sprinkled with some cinnamon. It wasn't my favorite but it was nice to try. We can't wait to come back and try new foods.

Mariah B.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious! Service was friendly, and the food was made to perfection. Sangria was the perfect amount of sweet, and well balanced w the rest. The menu had plenty of offerings, something for everyone in my opinion. Highly recommend the main entree of El Tunche - a delicious combination of Mofungo, mahi mahi and a coconut cream sauce. We also devoured the crab salad tostones. Really glad my family and I gave this a try.

Maria G.

Yelp
The food was good but our server and the manager didn't know how to handle our concern about the desert. We are a family of 4 and we all tasted the bitter flavor of the ice cream and the server took a very bad attitude towards our concern and he got very upset and rude. We had to pay with the cashier because he never came back to our table. We have been loyal customers since they opened and when they extended the restaurant. :(

Pierre R.

Yelp
Professional and friendly service. Ambiance was pleasing. The food was phenomenal. Very good restaurant.

Yelp
After eating at Dr. Limon last night, I just have one question: How did I go so long without Peruvian food?! This meal was an exciting, flavorful experience from start to finish, and I'm grateful for the massive portions because it means I get to enjoy it all as leftovers today! I tried the Shrimp Causas to start, and it was unreal! Super flavorful with just a hint of spice to add some bite to the creamy, delicious sauce. For my entree I had the risotto special with octopus and shrimp, and WOW did that blow me away! The risotto was incredibly creamy and cheesy, and the octopus and shrimp were well-seasoned and very tender. My mom had the Beef Chaufas and I was pleasantly surprised to find it was really, really good because at first glance it looked like your typical Latin take on Asian fried rice, which I often find to be a bit dry. Our waiter Luis was very kind and helpful, making great recommendations for my first time and describing every item I asked about in detail. My only regret for this meal was that I didn't save room for dessert! The portions here are massive, so I highly recommend coming with a group and sharing entrees and apps so you can enjoy a bit of everything. Though, coming solo isn't a bad idea - just be prepared for leftovers!

Yelp
Let me start by apologizing for not having any pictures for this entry. I was caught up in the moment and did not take any while with company. 1) Place was cleaned and welcoming. 2) Server was friendly and very attentive. Explained to us all the options available and suggested some. 3) We were there for one main thing (maybe two).... The ceviche and the pisco sour drinks. All were excellent. Order two ceviche samplers...wow. My description won't be enough to explain.... EXCELLENT! Sure, I prefer one type of ceviche more than the other but all were great. The pisco sours were great... freshly made and enticing. We had a chance to speak with the owner. Excellent person. If you have a change to dry this place, please do. I hope your experience is as great as ours was.

Tina C.

Yelp
I had heard so many good things about this place but never had the chance to try it, and I was definitely missing out! We ordered the Quítate el Es-Tres to share, which lets you try three ceviche flavors, tostones de cangrejo (to die for), and lomo saltado. Honestly, I am not a fan of lomo saltado, but I ate this one, so you can guess how good it was! Everything was great, and they give you canchita corn and a shot of leche de tigre on the house, which was delish! But the best part has to be the service! Everyone here was so nice, but our server Brayan was the BEST!

Natalia H.

Yelp
All of the food was amazing!! The ceviche platter is always my favorite go to when coming with other people. It's a great way to try different flavors of the ceviche's. Feeds an out 4-5 people depending if you get another appetizer. It made some renovations from last time I've been. It is bigger now and has way more space and seating.

Yelp
If you have never tried Peruvian or are a tried and true fan, Dr. Limon is just what the doctor ordered. Both seafood and landlubbers can find something to satisfy the taste buds and the eyes. If you aren't familiar with Peruvian food, it is influenced by several cuisines including indigenous, Asian, and European cuisines. The stars of the dishes are often seafood, beef, or a mixture. At Dr. Limon, each of the ceviches, chufas, and cocktails is like an edible work of art. From your first bite, the vibrant flavors of Peru will resuscitate your tastebuds. (I couldn't resist the medical reference). The service and attention to detail is superb. Portions are generous and fairly priced. It is the perfect spot for lunch or dinner. Doc Limon has several Miami locations, but the location across from F.I.U. is a family favorite. Fortunately for South Florida, the Dr. is in.

Elsa L.

Yelp
Enjoyed lunch at the FIU location of Dr. Limon. This Peruvian eatery is a favorite of mine. It was my first visit to this particular site. Started with the complimentary shot of "Leche de Tigre" and the Canchitas (roasted corn). We ordered the Sangrias Laboratorio (house specialty sangria made with red and white wines). We shared the Conchitas a la Parmesana (Peruvian scallops baked with butter and parmesan), the "trio" of Ceviches, the fried red snapper (pargo)bites. Topped off our meal with the maracuyá crème brûlée and a cortadito. As always, the drinks and food were great. The service was on point. Thank you Eduardo and the staff.

Stephany G.

Yelp
The tallarín verde con churrasco at Dr. Limón is a must-try dish. The green noodles are perfectly cooked and the churrasco steak is juicy and flavorful. The flavors complement each other beautifully, creating a delicious and satisfying meal. Don't miss out on this culinary delight at Dr. Limón!

Erica B.

Yelp
What can I say. No matter which location I go to, the food and service have been stellar!!!! I mean, from when you step foot in the door until you walk out, they train their staff well. There is a decent amout seating, snack local spot, but very cute, and a good drink menu! I love that they know their menu well and suggest options for indecisive eaters like myself, who get overwhelmed with menus or want to eat everything! Lol! I was recommended the Lomo saltado right away, but I explained that I do not eat meat. The host or manager, but not sure who she was, said she could replace the beef with shrimp! Yummmmm! My waiter came to take my order, but I was not sure of what I wanted to order. You can tell she was extremely observant because she came back after 5 minutes to follow up. She took my order, asked if I had any allergies, and then asked if I wanted spice. I waited about 7 minutes and my food came out. I began to eat when I realized they forgot my hot sauce, but again, she was on it. I watched her go to the back and speak to someone, and then my hot sauce came out. A few minutes later she asked me how my meal was, and 5 minutes later so did my waiter. I also ordered the creme brulee, and the washer went over all the options, which I felt as though I ordered exactly what I wanted! My water was filled without asking, and I felt important throughout my time there! It's so sad to say that places like this are rare unless you're paying 5 star prices. It's great to know that I have a location near my home and near my job! I will be back!

Mabelys H.

Yelp
First time coming to Dr Limon and it won't be my last. Loved the restaurants decor. Service was great and everyone was attentive. Food was amazing! I had their lomo salteado with a side of plantains so yummy. My boyfriend ordered their, seco de res. As you can tell by the picture, he loved it. The beans were delicious and meat was tender. For appetizer, we tried their fried ceviche. This was okay. The sauce was great but the ceviche was alright. For drinks, I had their passion fruit pisco sour 10/10 recommend. And for desert we had their flan and passion fruit crème brule also 10/10.

Janelle K.

Yelp
Personally love the Leche de Tigre shot they give complimentary when you sit down, gets the taste buds going! First for appetizers we order El Loco Calato which is a fried ceviche. I have no idea what's in it but it's amazing! Also got the Cripsy Rice which was very bland and I did not enjoy at all. I ordered the Chuoe de Camarones which is my favorite soup of all time. It's a mix of Shrimp, a firm white cheese and usually has a poached egg that I never get included but that just my personal preference. While this combination might sounds strange TRUST ME and try it. My friend ordered the Mar y Tierra which was basically Lomo Saltado with risotto in huancaina sauce. I personally wasn't a big fan but he liked it. I've been to a few different locations and while some I might have enjoyed more than others Dr. Limon is pretty consistent not matter which location you go to. Try one out!

Robert T.

Yelp
Amazing food and service is 5 star. I will definitely come back for the ceviche. Pisco sour drink tasted like another and another and then an Uber home.

Tomas D.

Yelp
When for lunch on a Saturday afternoon with 7 PEOPLE, I know it a crazy idea to hit a restaurant in the middle of the afternoon on a Saturday. Well, it was GREAT. The service was better then great (ask for Manuel), the food was delicious. Definitely a place to visit with family and friends and spend some $$$. (6 stars)

Unknown N.

Yelp
Las cartas tienen un precio y te cobran otro!; el manager no hace nada. Grosero y te dice que los precios pueden cambiar!? Esa es la manera de tratar al cliente? Por $2 pierden una familia completa de clientes

Gladys S.

Yelp
Leche tigre shot greeting!!! Yesss please! Pisco sour & Chilcano - Delicious! Unfortunately the shrimp causa & mixed ceviche didn't make the pic... but they were delicious. Idk if the Lucuma ice cream is made on site but it was yummy had a fresh taste to it. Our server was very friendly and attentive, loved her energy. Least favorite thing cus it has to be said was the Seafood Chaufa the seafood was overcooked, it was like chewing rubber.

Dominique S.

Yelp
All around Excellence! We used to avoid this place because it was always so packed .... it was tiny. But, they expanded the space and have a ton of room and more tables now. So feel free to drop in anytime! The ceviche here has always been excellent. I love the ceviche mixto with ají amarillo. This time we decided on the Jalea de Camarón which were big fat fried shrimp and come in a huge portion. And the Mahi Mahi a la Chorillana was Rob's choice, I only tried the fish which I found delicious and flakey. The service here is always top notch and there is always someone at the door to welcome you and say goodbye. This is the best Peruvian on this side of town in my opinion. Check them out, they do a great job.

Jorge S.

Yelp
The food and the service is really good. The menu has a lot of different options. The ambiance is perfect.

Sergio L.

Yelp
The best Peruvian restaurant in Miami. I have tried about 80% of all the area Peruvian restaurants and this one is by far the best. Reason, they have so many unique dishes cooked to perfection, while also excelling on the classics. Also, and I can't say this enough, their drinks are better than even the pricer Peruvian restaurants. Desserts could be a lot better, but I'm not a sweets guy, so ‍. Service is usually good!! For me, the only place to go. PS; in the past they had daily specials with new things, but lately haven't seen it

Carmenzo D.

Yelp
A great restaurant with VIP service to spend and enjoy a good time with family or friends. The food is spectacular. It is a Peruvian-Japanese combination. I recommend the passion fruit tiraditos and the macha lemonade. I will definitely return soon.

Claudia D.

Yelp
Mi "Go to" para comer rico al seguro.

Sulamis G.

Yelp
I usually get take out from here when I'm in town but the other day I took my mom and got to experience the service. It was as excellent as the food. Love their lemonade and all the ceviche options. I dream about this place when I'm back home in NC. My only complaint is that the seating is tight and I could hear the entire conversation of the people sitting next to me.

Jorge C.

Yelp
la comida estuve excelente y deliciosa el trato de Bruno hizo la cena mucho mas amena, muchas gracias

Nancy M.

Yelp
Food is excellent love the fried ceviche , service is always so pleasant and music is just the right amount .

Patricia K.

Yelp
Dr. Limon is located close to FIU and they offer amazing service. The food is absolutely delicious, amazing drinks and very affordable. Very good looking and attentive waiters too.

Diego A.

Yelp
I miss this place a lot. Really delicious the closest you can get to our delicious peruvian culinary experience. Kudos to dr Limón, come to Utah, peruvian restaurants here are lacking your experience.

Andro S.

Yelp
I come here from time to time. Each time I try something new and needless to say their food is fantastic. The lemonade is probably one of the best. The ceviche is great no matter how you have it. The servers are very attentive and come around periodically to make sure everything is up to par. The place is very well decorated and it almost gives you a feel of being seated somewhere ocean side.

Rocio C.

Yelp
Our server was very nice and friendly but that was the only good thing. Food portions were small and the causa sampler that we order tasted really bad. I've been to other locations and they taste and served better food. I do not recommend this location.

Stefany A.

Yelp
Good service, tasty ceviche and incredible menu options! I come here often and it's always a nice time with good recommendations and new menu items.

Leah C.

Yelp
Back for a second time! Gr8 service and delish food!! Sad they closed the Westin location but the ceviche sampler is def worth the drive to Miami Lakes

Jeannette S.

Yelp
EXCELLENT! We've been wanting to try Dr Limón for a while, we finally had the chance! As soon as you walk in the attention is on you. You have the person who opens the door, they ask where you would like to sit and immediately a waiter comes and hands you the baked corn (I think they are baked) with the shot of "Leche de Tigre". Which by the way is deliciously lemony. Honestly adds a welcoming touch. Our waiter Dante was EXCEPTIONAL, as all the waiters were too, who were constantly on top of picking up our dirty plates, making sure we always had something to drink and our table clean. We had the risotto with mahi and risotto with octopus. Is there a better word to describe DELICIOUS? My goodness! We also really enjoyed the fried ceviche. The white sauce it brings on top is flavorful. The "Laboratorio" Sangria was very well made. We took some home! The place is very clean and neat. The outer kitchen area adds a homey concept which I love. Great place! Delicious food and for this we cheers! As my husband and I would say "Kanpai".

Guinevere B.

Yelp
The food was genuinely so good! I got the Talla Verde Churrasco- basically steak with pesto pasta and it was cooked perfectly! I paired with a Maracuya pisco sour and it was 10/10. Our server Bruno was AMAZING- very friendly an had amazing recommendations! Was also very attentive to our needs. The manager Karla also had amazing customer service and checked in on us every now and then. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Cheri C.

Yelp
This place was amazing!! Fabulous service, good and thorough recommendations from the server, excellent food. Colorful, pretty and great tasting drinks!! Everything about this place was top notch! It's the second location we've been to and each was fantastic. My boyfriend and I both love the little shot they bring out when you sit down. It's addicting! All the ceviches we've tried have been excellent. He likes if a little spicier than I do, but they accommodate us both. Excellent happy hour options and prices. Chocolate cake is super yummy. It's going on the keep coming back list for sure.

Carla G.

Yelp

Julie C.

Yelp
So I decided to try this place which I really love Peruvian food which I love this food I was greeted by the nice waiter his name is herman and he was awesome I ordered him a white and a papa a la huancaina abs agi a la gallina and I had a dessert it was ice cream Lucoma it was really good the place is really cute the ambience is nice it's clean fast service which I was shocked

Rosemary R.

Yelp
Ambiance: they made this restaurant bigger and nicer in the inside. Service: superb Food: they have also enhanced the menu. Delicious plates. Food is delicious ,highly recommend if you like Peruvian food.

Jenny M.

Yelp
For the high price we payed, I thought the food was not as good as it used to be. The jalea was more breading then actual seafood, I think they removed the pumpkin they used to put in it as well. The lomo saltado was a bit salty and the rice was hard. The ceviche was good. With the covid situation still in place, they are offering outdoor seating and all the employees have their masks on.

Jackie S.

Yelp
I have visited Dr Limon yet again! And again and again.... Still my favorite Peruvian restaurant. The complimentary leche de tigre is delicious and gives such a nice touch to the meal. The service at this location is always on point. Angela (our server) was very knowledgeable and brought out our meal in a timely manner. The restaurant is very small but they have a few tables outside which make it nice for those was are COVID conscious. This place always draws a crowd. I can't blame them the food is delicious. Also, The parking is plentiful because it's located in a small strip mall. My go-to meal consists of the Fried Ceviche appetizer followed by the classic ceviche with a side of white rice. I don't know how they do it, but the fried ceviche somehow has a hot crispy outside and a cold yummy ceviche inside. The classic ceviche is so delicious, it is, in a word - sublime, so I always go for this combination. Also, their chocolate cake dessert is moist, very chocolatey, and highly recommended.

Cotty S.

Yelp
Best place for ceviche in Miami Excellent food and drinks Service is a plus and ambiance and decoration excellent This is my family's favorite place

Liz G.

Yelp
Food is very good. Drinks are yum. Place is a little small so come early or during the week. Service is friendly and helpful. Food presentation is beautiful.

Gloria M.

Yelp
Delicious food and super friendly service. They messed up my dessert to go but everything else was perfect. Will come back anytime I am in Miami.

Carlos A.

Yelp
Great portions and really tasty. I would drive to FIU any day. The little shot of leche de Tigre to start was a great.

Katie O.

Yelp
SO GOOD BYE the leche de tigre shot was the perfect citrus hit & everything was just delicious the ceviche, chaufas, lomo saltado, risotto all good forgot the name of our server but he was very nice
