The Mid-Wilshire Lunch Guide

"There’ll come a point at Drago Ristorante when you wonder why you’re eating a plate of pasta inside a car museum full of middle school field trips happening in full view, but then you figure said pasta is good enough that it doesn’t matter. Inside the Petersen Auto Museum, Drago certainly has a somewhat awkward location, but if want good pasta in an upscale-ish atmosphere, this is your spot." - brant cox

Where To Eat Around LACMA

"A day at LACMA turned into a Miracle Mile museum free-for-all and now you’re across the street looking at random old cars inside the Petersen Automotive Museum and you’re starving. Good news, Drago Ristorante is right on the ground floor. The modern Italian restaurant has solid pizzas and pastas and a quiet, casual space that’s a much-needed escape from the screaming schoolchildren out in the lobby. The full bar helps with that too." - jess basser sanders, amy clark, brant cox

Celestino Drago and the family behind him that head the prolific Drago family of Sicilian restaurants also does event. They serve up the consistently finest authentic pasta, pizza, breads and hospitality out of their headquarters at the Peterson Museum, where there is also a small cafe. This list doesn’t even include the best pretzel buns and lamb chops on the planet. And, you can have it at home, tooIMG_6919.jpg IMG_6922.jpg IMG_6924.jpg IMG_6926.jpg IMG_6927.jpg IMG_6931.jpg IMG_6934.jpg IMG_6940.jpg IMG_6944.jpg IMG_6949.jpg IMG_6951.jpg IMG_6953.jpg IMG_6955.jpg IMG_6956.jpg IMG_6958.jpg IMG_6963.jpg IMG_6970.jpg IMG_6972.jpg IMG_6974.jpg IMG_6975.jpg IMG_6977.jpg IMG_6981.jpg IMG_6983.jpg IMG_6990.jpg.

Yelp
I miss Drago so much. I used to go into the museum a few times a week for lunch. And what that lunch was, was the best ravioli I have ever had! Come baaaaack!

Yelp
I had the pleasure of using Drago Events and Ms. Bonnie Mahoney for a large scale event at the Peterson Museum for one of our clients. The food, beverage and service was spectacular. premium beverages and celebrity chef on hand was beyond amazing

Yelp
I trusted Drago Events to handle an event where it was vital that the VIPs in attendance would be treated to a truly remarkable, unique, and unforgettable evening. More importantly, it was crucial that the event would reflect well on me; not only for selecting the dynamic setting of the Petersen Automotive Museum, but also for integrating that venue, food, and drink with my presentation. Thanks to the stellar efforts of Fiona Campbell Connelly and Bonnie Mahoney, who totally understood my guests' needs without more than a brief outline of what I wanted, my trust was well placed. My guests marveled at the perfectly proportioned and exquisitely presented trays of the finest in Italian cuisine. Fiona and Bonnie ensured that there was an endless supply of delicious dishes to satisfy my demanding guests, and the bar staff catered to every need. The highlight of the evening was the appearance of Celestino Drago himself, who charmed my guests with his anecdotes, and made sure that everything was perfect. The event was a tremendous success, and weeks later people are still talking about it. I highly recommend Drago Events and look forward to using them again, and again.

Yelp
Great lunch at a museum restaurant...who would of guessed???? The food was excellent.. presentation was top notch. Service was great from the beginning to the end of our meal. Thanks Francisco!

Yelp
I've been here twice now, when visiting the museum. I always complain to myself, as the prices are high, but then I get the food and the service. Service is super professional and quite attentive. Good attention to detail. I had the spaghetti and meatballs. It looked like a small plate, but I are more and more and the portion seemed to just stay the same. Had some other veggies in it like carrots and basil, and they really brought it out. Very good. I had the pizza before, and that was outstanding as well. Recommend you give the museum and restaurant a test drive.

Yelp
Wow! Great food! Impressed! But the best part was the CHOCOLATE ice cream, or gelato, OMG! Homemade at their bakery, if you go to Petersen Museum, dine here, or just come in for the desserts!
