Drake’s Brewing Opening Drake’s Barn, a Massive Restaurant and Bar in Sacramento | Eater SF

"Set along the Sacramento River on the West Sacramento side, I see a two-acre architectural landmark that marks Drake’s Brewing Co.’s first expansion outside the East Bay. Originally envisioned as a community gathering place for a developing part of town, the Barn centers on a curvy cedar pavilion designed by Dutch architect Jerry van Eyck — its sprouting-seed form earned a first-place International Design Award for architecture in 2017. The site is built for big events, with an open meadow, three music stages, fire pits surrounded by lounge seating, space for festivals and concerts, a 400-seat beer garden and outdoor bar, and rotating food trucks on weekends (the Barn has already hosted Off the Grid events). A 38-seat cocktail bar is slated for winter and more amenities were promised through 2019. Drake’s beers will be a major draw, with 50 taps pouring classics and limited-edition, barrel-aged beers. The Barn opened to the public on Oct. 24 (grand-opening hours were Oct. 24–28) and began regular hours starting Oct. 31: Wed–Thu 11:30 a.m.–10 p.m., Fri–Sat 11:30 a.m.–midnight, Sun 11:30 a.m.–9 p.m." - Janelle Bitker

Well the food is excellent as we ordered the chicken sandwich and a burger with garlic fries. We also ordered a side of regular fries as well. The food came out quickly. Water was available on a counter as well as utensils and napkins. Everything was get it yourself though the food came from a staff person. Our biggest issue was the difficulty in ordering off their websites QR code which is run by some outside company trying to get you to sign up and give tg all your info as part of “registering” on their site!!!! You should not have to register to eat!!! We got turned down twice before we started all over again in order to get our food. Furthermore, they ask for 15, 20 or 25% tip AS you are ordering!!! There’s really No service and even 15% is presumptuous at best. When we came in, they just said sit anywhere and that was pretty much the extent of our interactions with waitstaff. Nah, too many good places to eat. Gave them 4 stars for the food but not coming back but I don’t think they’d care anyway.

Review for Drake’s Brewing – Sacramento We visited on a day that wasn’t particularly busy, but the experience was mixed. We ordered food through the QR code system, and it took a long time to arrive—and unfortunately, it was cold when it finally came. It felt like there wasn’t a manager on duty to keep things running smoothly. That said, the atmosphere is really nice, especially outside. There was a DJ playing during our visit, which added a great vibe to the space. Just be prepared for a line to order at the counter and possibly a line to get in, even when it’s not packed. Also, parking can be a bit of a hassle—it’s paid street parking and not always easy to find. Overall, great vibe and music, but the service and food delivery need improvement.

Google
Absolutely loved this place. Food is good, service is kind of good and atmosphere is just amazing. Good for dates, family, birthdays, even a wedding. Will be back P.S. Bathroom needs cleaning

I love the ambiance and my dog gets to chill with me. Cool spot. Haven't tried the food because I'm not sure about the gluten free options.

Google
Food: we ordered bbq chicken plates. Delicious overall. A bit pricey in my opinion Service: honestly, non existent. It's more of a you order at counter, find your own seat type "restaurant" Atmosphere: we didn't get the full experience because it was pouring! But it looks like it would get full on a summer night, the firepits and seating are cute. But overall not sure if it's a restaurant or park with food. Overall: would I come back? Yes during better weather, but even so I don't think the "service" is here if you're looking for sit down experience. But I enjoyed my time with mom and her friend. Head's up: the parking on the street is difficult because it's right next to what looks like a big appartament complex

Google
Great set up, open places to chill and sit/ stand around one of the fire pits with a view of the water and sunset. Great job to the staff. Security was nice and friendly not aggressive with escalates bad situations to worse. The water supply was around for people to get free water. The only thing was the huge line that people waited to get their drinks 30-45min and the cocktail made were way too syrupy. Other than that, we will be back for another event and recommend it to others. Thank you.

If you want to be surrounded by a lot of different dogs and young families and children and have the feeling that you are in Apple Hill but without driving to Apple Hill, this is the place for you. I regret putting a tip since they didn't clean our table and left trash from previous guests as we ate. They also put a reservation on our table as we were eating, saying someone else's name in 30 minutes. No, they did not speak to us, just quietly left the message that we sre no longer welcome and walked away. Not a pleasant experience. We didn't wait to get kicked out & left. Pizza was fine, beer was fine, and salad was skimpy. Cool space. Not done well. They should separate the areas like dogs, families, kids play, etc. so you can be in a chill area if you like.

My first time at Drake's Barn was for R&B and Ribs. It was a good time! The environment was perfect for the event, and staff were extremely helpful and friendly. I am looking forward to returning for more summer evening vibes.

Haden D.

Yelp
Food was mediocre at best, and extremely overpriced. Burgers did not come with fries, and yet were still somehow $13+. The drinks were good and prices were more fair for what you got. The environment was nice, although it got chilly and they only had 3 fire pits, all of which you have to pay $15/hr for. Service was very good.

Yelp
The Barn is a great place to socialize with friends outdoors. They have a lot of different events everything from live bands, Best of Sac, Movie nights and more. You can rent a fire pit for special occasions like birthdays. They have a great selection of beer, some wine and even craft cocktails, ask for Gerit, he's always been awesome. My beertender Jessica was so sweet, and patient helping us make our selections. She was very knowledgeable and big on giving amazing service which is very hard to find these days. They have a good selection of food as well including pizzas, burgers etc. They have an Asian fusion food truck as well and offer BBQ on Sundays, though that sells out quickly. During warm months they have fun slushy drinks which I think they should offer year round lol, but I'm the kind of person that enjoys ice cream on cold days lol.

Yelp
Drake's is a fave spot every season. Family and pet friendly, you can plan get togethers here, dates or if you just want pizza! They have tons of beer and cider selection for everyone. I love the DJs, mini concerts and markets Drake has and it does bring the community together. Think about it as a bigger backyard where you can meet locals! Also some nights you can see the fireworks from the Rivercats game.

Yelp
We love going to The Barn when we get a bunch of our friends together. Huge outdoor space, fire pits, pizza, and beer - what more could you ask for?! They also have wine and cocktails for the non-beer lovers. There is even a live band that plays on some days. We go here year round - we love going here during the summer to enjoy being outdoors and we love going here during the colder seasons to enjoy the fire pits. Depending on the day you go - lines can be long but the servers are knowledgable and will even suggest beers for you to try based on what you like. The only downside is parking - which can be difficult to find close by so be prepared to either drive around for a while to find a close spot or wear those walking shoes!

Yelp
Place is amazing to come and relax with friends or family. With outdoor or indoor seating you can choose your preferred seating spot. They offer a range of beers and pizzas. I had the BBQ pizza and it was delicious. I've come here multiple times and haven't been disappointed. Make sure to bring shoes though especially during some what windy times as there is part of the area that is just dirt ground.

Yelp
We went here with some friends to see the Purple Disco Machine. We did not try any of their food only the drinks. We had the VIP tix which were supposed to have a better experience. We had a good experience, I don't think we had a better one , though. The stage was under the "bean-like" structure & the public is spread right down the middle. On the right you have GA on the left you have the VIP folks. Both get the opportunity to be equally close to the stage. GA enters through the front, VIPs we had to go around the venue and enter from the back. The floor is loose dirt, bathrooms are located on the GA side, and there is a bar on each side. There was also a stand with 3 pre-made drinks (including a Purple Disco Machine special) for $15 served on a little flimsy plastic cup- the ones they spill the drink if you squeeze it enough. Initially, the VIP was area was not as crowded, but a lot of GA folks sneaked onto our side. The rules were not really enforced. The venue is also located near a lot of housing and stops the music at 10PM Sharp! No extra songs or music after 10 on this joint. Overall, I like the small size of the place, the ambience was good, the music sounded good, the drinks are small and pricey, the VIP situation is not what they hype it to be and better enforcement needs to take place. One thing that was very annoying was the band's media people. They had a social media person, a photographer, and a drone documenting the whole thing and always in the way which was very disrupting. The employees serving the pre-mixed drinks looked more like security guards than bartenders. I heard there are other theme and event nights that regularly happen here. I don't think we'll be back unless it's a concert I really want to see.

Yelp
Most of the seating was outdoors. We went on a Monday; otherwise, it may have been packed. We parked on the street and met friends inside, or rather, on the other side of the wood structure. Seemed like there was only one employee serving, so there was a bit of a wait once you ordered. Salad was okay, pizza was good! Stone-fired crust was my favorite part! There are outdoor sections to accommodate everyone--lawn chairs, fire pits, picnic tables, a bar. Very interesting concept! I didn't like the sand in my shoes, but it's worth a visit to check it out!

Yelp
Came here for an event from work. We got a fire pit, s'mores, pizza, salads and hummus. Obviously super cute location and the music was great. Highlight of the night was surprisingly the Chiquita pepita salad! Surprisingly delicious especially considering that it was competing with pizza! Highly recommend it. We took leftovers home and they held up great. Would probably return for that salad :)

Yelp
Chill outdoor atmosphere with two separate areas to get different types of drinks! I like the large outdoor space, which has tables and chairs plus lounge chairs to enjoy with friends on the grass. You can get beer on tap or in cans on the left or if you walk into the building straight ahead after the entrance, you can grab some craft cocktails! They had a small but yummy menu today, including salads, pizza and fries and I had a nice mock margarita to go with my Italian style salad. The staff is friendly and there are also seats indoors if that's more your style! I love the live music too. Not sure how often they do it but I came on a Friday to watch my friend's band play. Cheers!

Yelp
I think Drake's biggest appeal is it's outdoor beer garden atmosphere. There plenty of room to move around, picnic tables, fire pits, and a big grassy area for kids and dogs to play. It's also great for beer, wine, cocktails, food, and entertainment. They have a huge assortment of beer and even let the indecisive (like me!) try samples. For the people who don't like to burp the night away, there's a good selection of wine and cocktails. There are a couple food trucks out back frying up greasy goodies for hungry patrons and food's pretty good. I've been many times and have watched Drake's grow in popularity over the years. So much so, that it's getting hard to find parking. Which is really the only drawback about this beer barn. On busy nights you have to drive around for a while, or park far away and walk! A good way to burn off that beer belly I guess.

Yelp
Pizza at Drakes is our standard pre-game meal. Great selection of beers on tap at the bar counter. Service is pretty quick and pizzas are delicious. The place looks cool with the various seating options, fire pits and often has live music. Fly city, though. Four stars for that and the live music is so loud it is even harder for me to hear during conversations than normal. Tip: have your ID ready.

Yelp
Super cute place to hang out with friends! Reserve the fire pits and picnic tables in advance though! Pizza was pretty good (butternut squash with sausage) but they didn't tell me they would text me when it was ready so after waiting 20 min I finally walked up to ask. It was lukewarm but still yummy.

Yelp
If it's a hot day in Sacramento, try and get a reservation ahead of time. They have plenty of misters in the huge outdoor area, but they're all over the benches that are essentially for reservations only. Thank me later. My brother thought Drake's would be a great place to have dinner with my family when we visited and they were totally right. Parking was a bit tricky, especially with it being a Friday night during summer and on the same day as the local minor league baseball team having a home game, but luckily we circled around a bit and found street parking just a couple blocks away. There is a huge grass area to let your kids run around while you eat & enjoy a good selection of beers. The day we were there they also had a local craft fair which means a good chunk of the grass was occupied by booths, but there was still plenty of space for all 5 of the kids we came with to run around, play baseball, and just be free spirited. All while the 4 adults sat on a bench and enjoyed some amazing pizzas and beers. It was just a calm, laid back, community vibe that I feel like I don't find often these days. I'm jealous that my brother and his family can come here any time they want. I will say things feel a bit disjointed. Maybe the more you go the more you will feel it out, but it felt weird that you went to one place to get drinks. Another place to get some types of food, another for another type and then a different place for napkins, etc. The fact that you have to go to at least 2 places just to order a pizza and beer seems really illogical to me. We tried using the app and it took a bit to figure out, but once again, we still had to go to 2 places to pick things up. I just wish they had a dedicated drink area, but then also let you order anything there at the pizza area. Just find a way to let people come just for beer, and then others come for beer & food.

Yelp
Had to come back for another review of the seasonal menu this fall! The Er mah gourd pizza was sooooo good! The butternut squash mixed with the drizzle of balsamic on the crust has the perfect flavor. A lil bit of sweetness and tang. The fries are literally the best, and so is the ketchup. My bf and I get them every signal time we good! And they give you so many! Huge ol basket is worth the price. The harvest soon special drink was delicious, very tangy and hard to taste the alcohol in it! The atmosphere is always pretty good here, sometimes there are sand bees that bother you at the table but they don't do anythin so it's chill. Love the new renovations to the fire pit area tho, super cute!

Yelp
This was my first time coming to Drake's Barn. I really love that they offer such a great variety of drinks, including beers, ciders, cocktails, and wine. The atmosphere is fun, with music, food trucks, and small business vendors selling various items. The brewery also has food options like salads, pizza, wings, fries, and more. I'm giving this place a 3/5 because when we ordered drinks using the scan code, they came out completely watered down. The Mariposa Margarita tasted like tea - there wasn't even a hint of alcohol. Parking is also hectic, and you have to pay every day, Monday through Sunday, which is mandatory. On the bright side, it's both child-friendly and dog-friendly.

Yelp
I flew to a musical concert featuring purple Disco Machine in late September 2025 in Sacramento. This is the menu where the DJ concert was held. The food was amazing appropriately priced the drinks were expensive, but I understand that's the norm these days. It was a very open area venue where you didn't have to be up next to the stage, you could be sitting around a fire pit. The employees were amazing. I will be back. It was much worse spending money to take a flight from San Diego to Sacramento getting a hotel for a night or two and paying lower ticket prices for Sacramento events.

Yelp
I love the beer at Drake's , been a fan since my Oakland days and the Dealership was my go to dog friendly spot. The vibe at the Barn is great, big space, lots of tables, fire pits you can reserve , on game days gets crowded but they manage it very well and servers are always checking on tables and food comes our relatively quick, glad there's a restaurant now And that it took me longest time to write a review to talk about the restaurant, great menu. I visit every time I'm in Sacramento , the location it's a short 10 min drive from Downtown and there's street parking
google avatar

Alex K.

Yelp
Cool spot but it is all outdoors. It was cold so I asked the host if someone could turn on a heat lamp and was told it would take 10 minutes. There were two people in the host booth but no one coming in. After 10 minutes one of them came and turned it on. Don't know why we needed to wait in the cold. We put our orders in only to be told after we paid through the online ordering system that it would be an hour for food to come out. I would have left had I known that before ordering. Would not recommend to anyone.

Yelp
What a great local spot in Sacramento to hang out, grab a drink, and enjoy some food. We moved here from Oakland and have visited Drake's Dealership, so we were excited to see that Sac had the Barn! When you arrive, you show your ID and get a wristband. The vibes are great. It gets busy on the weekend, so HIGHLY recommend you book an advanced reservation. Otherwise, it may be a challenge to find an empty, un-reserved table. Especially on weekends, pretty much every table will have a little sign on it with their reservation times, and you will be told that you are unable to sit there. They are family and dog-friendly, which is great for us so we've brought our corgis with us a couple times. Great selection of beers on tap. Food is pretty good, too, though when it's busy it can take 30-40 minutes for food to come out. It's convenient to use their mobile order system scanning the QR codes that are at each table. Drake's is honestly such a gem for the Sacramento community. I'm sure I'll have my fair share of visits over the coming years.

Yelp
Great place to enjoy beers/food before an A's game. Vast beer selection, including barrel aged beers, and complete bar for hard liquor. Lots of seating and decent prices. We had the pizza and it came out quickly and was very tasty. Their $6 six pack specials are hard to beat.

Yelp
We were coming to Sac for a Yankees/Athletics game at Sutter Health Park and were so excited to know that Drake's: The Barn was within walking distance from the park. We arrived about 5 minutes after opening and it was busy enough already that they had begun a waitlist. Fortunately it was only about a 10 minute wait for the three of us. It was good to learn that reservations are common and a great option for larger parties. The space is quite large inside with plenty of shade via the overhang and umbrellas placed throughout the yard. There was plenty of seating, a DJ was playing music, the misters were flowing as well as the beer. Our beertender was friendly and was kind enough to give us some samples so we could narrow down our options. We were stoked with the extensive beer selections on tap, including some sours! Our group ended up choosing the Patches O'Houlihan Amber, the Cult of the Sun sour, the Tart Breaker cherry sour blonde, A Hop, Skip, & A Jump collab, and the Juicy Hoot IPA - each beer was cold and delicious! They have a nice selection of food and cocktails as well, but we were only there for the beers this time. It is also dog-friendly and several children were in attendance as well. We can't wait to come back the next time we are in the area!

Yelp
What to say? Drake's the barn has great food, beer, cocktails and events. My partner and I have been here a handful of times and we love it each time. We recently went for the night market on 9/6/25. The atmosphere was great with the dim lighting and music. The DJ was playing hip hop, R&B, and a dash of reggaeton and mixing it well. The food as always is delicious. I ordered the smokehouse pizza with chicken and my wife got a pizza with three meats. Both were wonderful and savory! This is where the experience went bad. We left home with a few slices to go and were very excited to eat them the next day. It wasn't until we checked the last slice that we noticed a long RED hair roughly 5-6 inches in length baked in to the cheese. For reference, my wife and I both have BLACK hair. To say this was disappointing is an understatement. Cleanliness and food safety are important to me. This hair was entwined on all of the toppings in the three meat pizza. The photo attached to this review shows the hair pulled out and curled up after we threw away the pizza. Overall, I would recommend coming here, but I would inspect your food unlike us. This is the first time we've had a bad experience. Despite this I would come again. I only hope they improve on this.

Yelp
Huge outdoor beer garden type space but modernized to fit the times. Modern like playground area for kids off to the side. Trails and sidewalks nearby so you can bring your pet and still do pet things with them. *No cash* Multiple areas to sit/lounge in (did I mention this place is huge). With multiple spread out areas that dish out food/drinks. You can have stuff brought out to ya via QR code ordering/payment; or you can wander around and pick stuff up. They'll even have different food trucks off to the side if you wanna do something different than what they have on their menu. I'm from the east Bay Area so I grew up and watched Drake's evolve and grow. Been to the ones in San Leandro and Oakland and each one is getting hipper and hipper. This one has the most capacity and space albeit all outdoors. I've always liked Drakes brews. I just did their Hoppy Pils on this out and it was perfect in the Sac Town heat. Clean, crisp with a strong hop finish. We had a couple here with a pizza before an A's game one weekend afternoon. It was chill and ideal. Mushroom Pizza with add Pepperoni ($25ish/4*) Very soft thin crust, a little heartier than naan bread. A few charred leopard spots on the outer crust. I would prefer a little more crisping but it was nice and chewy. Maybe next time I'll just request a crispier crust, if they do it. But no tomato sauce, something creamy instead. Loved how they used several types of mushrooms like king, oyster and shimenji which were all cooked nicely, tender yet meaty. A good amount of quality pepperoni for the elevation and garnished with fresh baby leaves of arugula for a bright finish. Splitting a pie is a good sized meal with a couple of brews. We ended up not eating at the ballpark (which I kinda wanted to do), but still not mad. This was a legit out. Cool music always on blast (reggae and 90s music that out), outdoor air, decent grubs and always consistent brews. Good times to just celebrate living. Many more cheers.

Yelp
What a fun place to hang out. After taking a 2 hour walk around town we decided to make a pit stop at Drake's. Thankfully we walked and didn't have to look and pay for parking. You even have to pay on a Sunday. The place was really hopping. Not too busy that it was crowed, but plenty of people to keep it lively. The line to get drinks was only 2 people deep when we were in line. Later it was around 8 people deep. The line is slow due to people have so many questions on there vast supply of beer, all in house made. Other people want samples, which they graciously give, but it all slows down the line. They don't serve root beer so I got a ginger ale. It comes with unlimited refills, but you have to stand in the drink line, which I didn't find worth it. One glass was really enough for the short time we spent there. This day they had a food tent. It was around bit pricy, but for the ambiance it was worth it. For $25 you get a generous helping of brisket, mac and cheese, roasted asparagus, and a roll. All fresh and delicious. The portions were really generous so that made it plenty to share between 2 people. I'd order it again. They also had tri-tip, chicken, and hot links as your Protein. The sides were coleslaw, or some others. I can't remember them all. The asparagus was perfectly cooked. Tender, but not soggy. I loved it. There was plenty of seating. All of the fire pit seating was taken by large groups, so no s'mores for us. I really would have loved to score a fire pit seat, but then it would have been difficult to eat our meal. It was better on a picnic table to really share the meal. All in all it was a great stop on our journey. There were tons of dogs there, so if you have a big dog this is the place to be. I highly recommend this place as a great place for an outing.

Yelp
Drake's is one of my favorite spots in Sac for the spacious outdoor area making it perfect to bring the dogs. They have a good selection of beer, but also some ciders and cocktails. The cran peary spritz was a perfect cocktail if you like sweet and fruity drinks. Pizzas here are huge especially for around $20. I liked the margherita and The Range which is like a sausage combo pizza. Their artichoke dip is delicious despite it looking so intensely green.

Franceska M.

Yelp
Amazing experience, good was delicious, I would skip the chicken tenders but the pizza was 10/10!! Family friendly too!
google avatar

Nicole S.

Yelp
Amazing proximity to the Rivercats/As stadium. Definitely need to get there early on game day. No cash, cards only. Great selection of food, drinks, beer and wine. You can order via QR code at your table or inside. Huge covered outdoor space complete with misters for those hot Sacramento days and nights.
google avatar

Aileen M.

Yelp
Drakes has grown over the years so checking their website before arriving is recommended. They have theme nights, DJ and musical acts, holiday events, and food/beer specials - which is pretty cool and keeps things interesting. It's still the same for parking: it's street parking and free for the 1st two hours on weeknights. They still have a great variety of beers but have a much larger beverage menu of cocktails and mocktails. They have a larger selection of food to order, too, but I'm not a big fan of their pizzas because toppings are sparce. You can still order via your cell phone and they deliver your food/drinks to your table.

Yelp
Love coming here summer evenings, I have 4 kids and me and my husband bring toys for them while we enjoy some drinks. We've come to movie night as well and that is so much fun. So much room for playing and sitting. We usually come during the week when it's less pack. The service is always great, everyone is so friendly.
google avatar

Aileen V.

Yelp
Came here this past Sunday and the vibes were so good! DJ Lady Char was mixing on the turn tables and was playing really good music. We had some drinks and food. I was so entertained by the music that I only got a couple pics. I was surprised to see they had a new area in the middle area which was cool area to sit in.
google avatar

Yelp
What a great activity spot just by Raley Field! Great drinks and pizza, what's not to like? Super friendly service tops it all off! So much outdoor seating and on a beautiful day it can't be beat. It's right by the river, scenic, and just a fun place to hang with friends. Definitely, give yourself a treat. You'll be glad you did!

Yelp
We came here after a Santa train ride out in West Sacramento. Pizza was BOMB! Loved all the fire pits as it kept us warm and creat a great atmosphere! Beer was great as usual. I'd definitely come here again and recommend it to others.

Yelp
I heard about Drake's: The Barn when it first opened back in 2018 but didn't make my way there until today. I've frequented the San Leandro and Oakland locations and I love both places. You can never go wrong with a beer from Drake's! When we walked in there was an attendant checking IDs and handing out wristbands to the +21ers. This place is HUGE. There's ample outdoor seating with propane heaters, firepits, and a grassy area where kids can play. If you prefer sitting indoors, there is an indoor seating area too! What's nice about this location is that along with beer there are cocktails as well! There's a bar called The Wing that we hung out in watching a football game while sipping on some handcrafted cocktails after we had a beer. For food, we ordered pizza and fries. Everything was so good! The fries and pizza were a bit greasy, but it was a perfect pair with our beers. In all, Drake's: The Barn would be a place I'd visit again! The food and beer were good, the vibes were there.

Yelp
We came here for a night out and it definitely had a fun vibe. I read reviews and I agree with many of them, food takes A LONG time to arrive. Once the fries arrived, they were not hot. I asked for a new order. That took an even longer time and it was regular fries instead of garlic fries. After waiting an even longer time, we ended up having one of us go get the car and 2 of us wait for the fries to take home. It was our server's 1st day so that may be a reason.

Yelp
I love and enjoy my time at drakes, always a great time with great people great staff and great vibe. The drinks are pretty good too; the food isn't bad but this time I got a super brunt pizza that couldn't be eaten, it was busy so I did not go back to let them know.

Yelp
This was a pit stop on the way home from Tahoe. It was kind of set back but we found on Yelp and it didn't disappoint. The seating/checking in part was kind of confusing but once we figured it out it was not an issue. Only complaint was they had run out of some do the menus items. It was a great vibe and worked well for a pit stop with kids who could get wiggles out and eat before headed home.

Yelp
I've been to Drake's: The Barn a few times over the years and it is such a cool venue. I love the architecture of the building/awning and that it is so open and welcoming for families, groups and dogs. I've been in the day and at night and both are great options. They have a variety of drinks available, including their beer on tap. On my latest visit I opted for their amber first and then tried a nectarine cider that they had in cans. The line to grab drinks moved quickly and the drinks were nice and cold. During peak hours, especially after a baseball game or during some of their events the lines can get longer but you can plan ahead for that. We've brought our dog here every time I've visited and he loves it. There is enough space that you can walk around with your dog and avoid others, or have them meet each other if your pups are friendly. They also offer food, which is great for groups with shareables like pizza, wings, dips, and flat bread, as well as other options like burgers and other bar foods. Parking is mostly street parking and it's a lot of free two hour parking which is great. If you have a big group this is a great spot!

Yelp
Drake's: The Barn is one of those unique places in Sac that's great for any and everything. I've visited several times for different occasions including date night, yoga at Drake's, Drake's night market, and most recently Barnflix. Drake's is a cool outdoor brewery with a menu of food and drinks, and tonight, I took advantage of the Wednesday personal pizza and pint deal for $15! You order at the bar, then receive a text when your food is ready. Staff are friendly, and the place always feels very vibrant and lively. There's plenty of seating options, and my favorite spot to enjoy a cold beer is by the fire pits. Pro tip: they're reservable! I usually don't order food, but tonight, I had a pepperoni pizza to pair with my bold rush golden ale. The pizza had a nice char on the crust from the wood fire oven, and it wasn't greasy at all! It tasted great with my easy to drink ale. Portions were perfect for me, and I'll definitely be coming back for more!

Yelp
I can see the appeal of Drake's The Barn as there are a few things to do here to while the afternoon away. It certainly doesn't hurt that they have a great selection of beers on tap, and Drake's beers are excellent. We dropped in on a Saturday afternoon for lunch, and it turned out that we got there just as everyone else was heading out for the A's game next door (relatively next door that is). We had to wait about 15 mins to get in, placed our order at the indoor counter and then grabbed a table under the covered area. The space is pretty expansive, with mostly open packed dirt as your floor, some umbrellas and tables/chairs scattered throughout. Also, a lawn area for play or other events Drake's hosts. All in all, pretty cool and very casual space here. We ordered a pizza and salad (and beer). The oven fired pizza was pretty good in my opinion. Salad was 'just a salad' so no big deal really. Fun time to sit and watch the people with their families of kids and pets. Drake's always is open to all and welcomes all...!!!

Yelp
Had a girl's night and we all got the chance to visit Drake's for the very first time! We were all excited, as we've heard so much about this spot. Upon arrival, parking was pretty scary. We took about ten minutes to find street parking. There are lots of housing complexes around the location so I think that was a part of the parking issue as well. We opted for the public parking lot and luckily it was two hours free that day! We had a three minute walk from there, so not bad at all. We were IDed at the entrance, BUT this spot is definitely kid-friendly. They ID so they can give you a 21+ wristband. There is first-come first-serve open seating, but they do accept reservations as well. We went on a Wednesday night, and found out they were showing Hercules as an outdoor movie night. I think that deterred most of the crowd from the tables and onto the lawn area, so we had lots of seating options. This spot is incredibly adorable. There are string lights everywhere, firepits, greenery, and a bit of a view own Old Sac and the river. They have so much beer on-tap, so this spot is great for the beer-lovers. They also had some specialty cocktails for the movie night theme, which is what I ordered. The cocktail was super good and not too strong! We also ordered pizza at the bar and it was ready in about 15 minutes for pick-up. The pizza was slightly under-cooked and chewy which was disappointing, but my friend really enjoyed hers. Overall, it was a super fun experience and I look forward to going back.

Yelp
This place is beautiful. It strikes you as you walk into it. Sprawling, lots of room for groups and families. Good beer. Fun frozen drinks. A chill little side bar with great cocktails. Quality food and food truck options. It has the potential to be a premier destination hang for locals and tourists. What kills me is the music they pump into the air. It's never on point. Brutal would be a good way to put it. They don't even try to build a vibe. It's generic and uninteresting and destroys my experience every time. I wish they would play something else. This is not a criticism on genre, but rather the lack of care or curation that gets put into an otherwise fun atmosphere.

Yelp
Fun outdoor bar in west Sacramento. The food itself is pretty basic, and it took forever for our order to come in but the drinks are fun and it's a great outdoor space. There's fire pits available for reservation that are perfect for the less unusually cold evenings. Keep an eye on their Instagram for special events!

Yelp
Drake's: The Barn in West Sacramento offers a spacious outdoor area, making it a perfect spot to relax with friends, family, and even your furry companions. The venue's architectural design is impressive, providing various seating options such as beach chairs, fire pits, and open meadows for lawn games. The beer selection is extensive, featuring both their own brews and guest taps. For those who prefer alternatives, they also offer ciders and cocktails. The food menu includes a variety of pizzas and the ingredients are very fresh with flavorful combinations. I saw a number of people having bday parties so if you're going to come on a weekend and want to get a table I recommend making a recommendation

Yelp
Visiting friends in Cali. They took us here. Excellent place, whether you're hanging out with friends and family, or on a date. Love the relaxing vibe. They have fire pits, an opened area and incredible pizza and drinks. The bartender Brian was the best bartender ever. He was friendly, attentive and made us amazing cocktails. Highly recommend this place!

Yelp
We went for the 36th anni. The drinks are reasonably priced, tasty, and satisfy different tastes. I loved seeing so many different people families young and...not so young. Babies, dogs, and gorgeous weather. Pizza, grilled peppers, all tasty. Would recommend for kids, families, dog owners, singles. So fun.

Yelp
Very cool place. Great place to hang out with, especially if you want a chill place for a big group. Recently went for a retirement party and had about 6 tables for us. Great vibe, perfect when the weather is nice out. They have color sprinklers on when it does get a little spicy out. Ordering food is all through your phone. They were super fast with service. We were impressed. One of our faves was the blueberry pizza. Parking can be a bit hard, especially if there is a game near by. No parking lot on premises, just street parking.

Yelp
Love this place and the vibes..But I hate the parking around here. There was 2 hours free parking back when I went in December, but couldn't figure it out this time.. I think they got rid of it? This time I came for the Love Island watch party but there was a $35+ event parking fee for if you parked for more than 2 hours. And it was $4 for the first two hours. We left early because there's no way we were paying $40 for this.

Yelp
Drake's is such a fun spot to grab a drink and have a bite to eat. There's plenty of room for large groups and you can reserve fire pits on chilly nights! During the summer, they've got misters and chairs for rent. We've tried numerous pizzas (with and without cheese) and they're always tasty! The beer is delicious and the cocktails are too!
