I came here with friends for lunch, we wanted to try something new. The menu is pretty simple; mostly breakfast items with a couple of salads and sandwiches. I ordered the breakfast tacos, which were supposed to be chorizo, eggs, "coffee stewed black beans," and crema. It was clear upon arrival that weren't any beans, and when I asked I was flatly told that they were "in there." Well I'm here to tell you, Not. A. Single. Bean. The tortillas were hauntingly similar to the corn tortillas that I buy in Kroger, except they were so dry they immediately disintegrated upon picking them up. The salsa was also strikingly similar in both taste and appearance to Pace Picante. The chorizo tasted more like ground pork, not much seasoning to speak of. No sides. $12 before tax and tip.
My friend ordered the Omelette, which is supposed to have Benton's Country Ham. The ham was pretty grey looking; she was a bit nervous about eating it, so I can't say how it tasted. The side salad was good, I tried it. The candied nuts and pickled red onions were tasty.
She had also tried a muffin the day prior; for $5, it was super dry and not very special. I took a taste and was not very impressed.
My other friend got the tuna sandwich. It looked fine, but for $12, I would expect more than a small pickle on the side.
Not a fan.
