15 Must-Try Astral Margaritas in Orange County | Eater

"A true Laguna Beach institution, Driftwood Kitchen offers front-row ocean views and a seafood-forward menu that changes with the seasons. Mornings bring a lively brunch crowd, while evenings slow down into a more intimate, candlelit setting. The Skinny Cadillac Margarita with Astral Blanco is a smooth, citrusy complement to the salty breeze." - McConnell Quinn

The 16 Best Restaurants & Bars In Laguna Beach

"If you’re dead set on dining so close to the ocean you can see sand crabs, Driftwood Kitchen is the best option in town for a sit-down meal with beachfront views. The bright, vaguely Cape Cod-ish dining room is quite literally perched over the sand (“Any closer and you’d have to swim” is the restaurant’s tagline) and the food meets the assignment: upscale but not ridiculously overpriced, and interesting without being pretentious. You can certainly splurge on a surf-and-turf dinner at sunset, but we prefer the house burger and a Bloody Mary during their daily brunch. Reservations are a must on weekends." - garrett snyder, jess basser sanders

The 21 Best Brunch Restaurants in Orange County California | Eater LA

"As one of few places in Laguna where you can dine seaside, a table at Driftwood Kitchen is highly coveted. The brunch menu ranges from freshly shucked oysters with classic mignonette to organic granola to an egg-white omelet with blistered tomatoes, creamy kale, and avocado. From this perch, toast to the weekend with a mimosa or bloody mary." - Jenn Tanaka

"This casual, open-air restaurant sits above an untouched stretch of Laguna Beach—and capitalizes on that beautifully. Floor-to-ceiling windows encircle the dining room so it appears to be floating above the ocean, all the better to watch the sunset while eating hand-shucked oysters and sipping Rum for Your Life cocktails. Chef Rainer Schwarz’s menu centers around seafood, prepared with a range of international influences—Spanish octopus is grilled with chickpea puree and zahtar, and lobster stars in a spaghetti carbonara. The spot draws a stylish crowd not just for dinner but also weekend brunch, with a must-try version of eggs Benedict (made with Berkshire ham and blood-orange hollandaise, plus steak or crab). While waiting for a table, sidle up to the Stateroom Bar, the former home library of Old Hollywood actor Slim Summerville, for artisan libations heavy on fine bourbon and whiskey. Pro tip: Locals know best, and they can’t get enough of the whole fried branzino, served with roasted shishitos and ponzu sauce."

Beautiful spot with an amazing ocean view! Our server Bianca was super sweet and made us feel very welcome. The cocktails and blueberry pancakes were great, and my daughter enjoyed her eggs and potatoes. I ordered the veggie hash and was disappointed to find it had a cashew cream sauce that wasn’t listed on the menu—it totally overpowered the dish and wasn’t to my taste. Aside from that, we had a great experience and would come back for the atmosphere, drinks, and service.

Had a clam chowder cup and it was very good. Tasted fresh and creamy. The French fries were nice and crispy on the outside and the ranch was amazing. Made in house and different. The view was nice also. The things I didn’t love was that it was a little confusing to find, it was all valet parking and everything was expensive.

Our breakfast at Driftwood Kitchen in Laguna Beach was a letdown. Despite 80% of the tables being open, we were stuck waiting 30 minutes to be seated, which was frustrating and unnecessary. The hostess seemed disorganized and could benefit from better training to manage the seating process efficiently. The servers appeared bored with nothing to do, as most tables were empty, yet the service was surprisingly slow. The oceanfront atmosphere was beautiful, and the breakfast menu had potential, but the poor customer service and long wait overshadowed the dining experience. For a Laguna Beach restaurant known for its coastal dining, I expected better hospitality. Hopefully, they improve their service flow for future guests.

Google
Great spot for brunch. Started with the lobster flauta and Brussel sprouts both of which were excellent. Crab omelette was really well cooked, eggs light and plenty of crab meet. Nice selection of cocktails. Great ocean views but note seats on the outside deck can only seat 2.

Google
Outstanding food and atmosphere with a view to the ocean/beach. The eggwhite omelet and the steak were delicious. Clam chowder was great as well. I also enjoyed the brownie dessert with coffee ☕️

Google
Probably the best Clam Chowder in the world! Nice ocean views. The service was excellent. Prices not so bad. I would highly recommend this place if you want to try something new.

I don’t write reviews, but with a background in family hospitality, and having seen great restaurants go downhill because of poor management, I couldn’t stay silent. At Driftwood Kitchen, the service was appalling. The umbrella was removed from our outdoor table and given to another. We asked before even ordering for a solution or we’d leave. The manager (Adrian) promised to move us to the next shaded table, instead, it was given to new guests. While eating our main course, we were told, “No umbrella available.” It got worse. Water glasses empty, dirty plates piling up. When I showed a picture of the mess to the second manager (Steve), his response? “Hope next time is better.” And, believe it or not, he added, “We don’t allow guests to change tables because it messes up the kitchen and operations.”, something I’ve never heard in my life. This isn’t a bad day, it’s bad management. Attached are the pictures: you judge!

Yelp
We had our anniversary dinner here and it was amazing! The surf and turf was delicious. Great lobster and steak with really yummy mashed potatoes and asparagus. Drinks were also very good, we tried the moscow mule, nectar of the seven seas and the passionate one. The server was so sweet and very attentive. Would definitely recommend!

Yelp
Probably one of my favorite spots in Laguna Beach. I've also recommended this place to a few friends and they all told me they loved it as well. The service is great. The view is on another level. The food is actually top notch and delicious. Parking and space may be the only con, but what else do you expect in this part of Laguna Beach. The space is pretty tight, but we had a stroller with us and the staff was very accommodating and courteous. This Yelper highly recommends Driftwood Kitchen! A+

Yelp
My boyfriend and I visited on a Sunday morning for brunch and had reservations -- we were seated immediately and were able to choose outdoor seating on the patio! The view was amazing, service was quick and friendly, and the food was good as well! I really enjoyed my time here and would definitely recommend it for anyone who's looking for a relaxing brunch spot with a beautiful view! No parking lot but valet available -- we opted to street park and found parking a few streets down.

Yelp
Drove to see the Ocean and a restaurant with a view but unfortunately, it was s foggy day. Nice cozy restaurant, right at the ocean where you can walk down to the sandy beach. Services were excellent. Pricey Valet Parking. Limited Lunch Menu. Egg Benedict & Hamburger was average but Clam chowder was a Bomb. Clam Chowder was even better than New England, Boston and Main. Would like to come back during sunset for dinner experience.

Yelp
Amaaaaazinggg foood, service, ambiance and view!!! Initially was intending to go to another brunch place but accidentally booked this place without realizing. I'm so glad I went to this one instead. It was a happy accident, as the food was amazing and fits everything what a brunch is. The location and view itself are next level, giving it a serene ocean calmness perfect for a relaxing weekend!

Yelp
Food 10/10 Views 10/10 Service 10/10 Parking $16 Valet We came on Sunday morning for breakfast didn't make a reservation and sat down after waiting 15 mins. They have a restaurant below called the deck where you can sit outside as you wait. We had a great experience and the views were amazing.

Yelp
Came here for a Sunday morning brunch with a couple of friends! We made reservations ahead of time via open table so there was no wait! Parking was non-existent so we had to pay $16 for valet parking. The restaurant was very open and really does have an incredible view of the ocean! The food was very delicious! My husband and I shared the Laguna beach omelette & lobster hash! We're a big fan of seafood so these typical brunch dishes really stuck out to us. Our server said their lobster hash was the popular dish and it did not disappoint! The portion was huge! The laguna beach omelette was STUFFED with dungeness crab meat which makes it superior any omelette that I have ever tried!! Overall, the food was great and ambiance was immaculate!

Yelp
This place is incredible! We went to celebrate my grandpa's birthday and it was beyond my expectations. The food was impeccable along with the service (Jose), location and complementary birthday cake. I will be back and recommend to friends 1 million times over! Thank you for a wonderful experience. MAKE RESERVATIONS.

Yelp
The clam chowder was salty and lacked flavor. In most restaurants, they give you the option to add oyster crackers, if you want them, but these guys think you should have them, regardless. We had a charcuterie mix was below par as well. They should consider making a better pairing of meats and cheeses, the mix was also, too salty! The beer selection was not that great. The drinks we had had nothing memorable about them. All they have is the view going for them. Not very happy.

Yelp
This is such a beautiful dinner spot in Laguna Beach! It has beautiful views of the beach from open windows! We were in a group of 8, and our waitress did a good job. There was a large private party upstairs, so it took a really long time to get our food. And our appetizer was totally forgotten. But cocktails were delicious. My octopus was overcooked. And they don't split checks. But I still enjoyed the overall experience.

Yelp
Ambiance : incredible. It's a very light and bright dining area outside, there's also a darker, rich, mahogany bar, and dining area inside. You can choose what suits your mood. Outside has a gorgeous view of the sunset over the ocean. Drinks,: the cocktails are 16 bucks and every single one is delicious. They have a fair amount of sugar, but it's balanced and doesn't come off as overly sweet. Highly recommend the nighttime, cucumber, vodka, drink, and the black and blue. Food: Croquetas: I would pass on these. They weren't too expensive, but it's only comes as four and they just tasted like a glorified fish ball. 2/5 Brussels sprouts and Shishito peppers: excellent dish! I was sharing it with someone who does not like sushi type flavors, and he stayed at these were not too strong. The dipping sauces, the flavors, and just the overall nature of the dish were beyond exceptional. Highly recommend, will order again. 5/5 Scallop Main Dish: excellent dish, highly recommend this. The scallops were well cooked, and the accompanying potatoes and accoutrements really complemented the perfectly delectable seafood. Yes, there were only four scallops, but it was well worth the cost. 5/5 Toffee cake: absolutely scrumptious. You can get the bacon on the side, but this was such a well plated and tasty without being too big or too small. 5/5 de

Yelp
We made a reservation here for a weeknight. We were seated promptly but we waited and waited on food. Luckily the view was fabulous. But the service. We were told there was a huge party upstairs and they were behind. No one in the dining room was getting service. The food was above average. I ordered the Lobster Carbonara and I've had better. Eggs on top of things don't bother me but a friend who ordered this was a little put off by it. The lobster was delicious. I did enjoy the G&T as well. It was pretty with the juniper berries floating in it. I also hate that we could not split our ticket. We could only split it three ways. (We heard this over and over again during our trek to OC.) It's worth it for the view and perhaps on another night the food would come out quicker. (We were there for two hours.)

Yelp
Been here a few times. Literally the only thing that isn't good with this restaurant is the parking. Views are great. The food is good. On my most recent trip went here for lunch and had the Maine lobster roll. Wifey had the eggs Benny. Both were satisfactory. Have not had a bad experience here. Service always does their job. Would recommend.

Yelp
Great brunch place. Floor to ceiling windows bring in the ocean view. If its a bit chilly, this is a great indoor option but they have limited outdoor seats as well. Food is always good here (based on about 5 visits) service as well. You will pay a bit more for the view but it seems about right to me.

Yelp
Food: We ordered the fish and chips, the clam chowder, and the roasted brussels sprouts! The brussels sprouts were the best that I've ever ever had. They were delicious. The fish and chips were good as well! My husband loves clam chowder however, he found it offputting that he had to remove the clams from the shell before eating! Please stop adding the shells to the chowder! Thank you. Sevice: Our waitress was attentive and helpful. Ambiance: We dined on the patio with a view of the ocean! You can't get any better than this.

Yelp
After a tiny snafu wherein i couldnt get anyone on the phone for 15 minutes, a very calm man answered and helped me out with my reservations. I am SO grateful he was able to accommodate me. This place is amazing!! It's like a house, and its set right on the water with a gorgeous ocean view. The set up is beachy. Jose at bar was great with getting us drinks and making us feel welcome. The host also made us feel very welcome!! I got the steak eggs benedict which was PHENOMENAL aside from the brussels sprouts (my fault shoulda had them removed) and my husband got the steak and eggs that was so flavorful and juicy. Their eggs are incredible - deep orange yolks and very fresh. Cooked perfectly. My parents got the laguna omelet and the chilaquiles. Those were a bit too spicy for my mom but she did enjoy them and my dad said his omelet had a generous amount of crab. We both loved the clam chowda. For dessert we split the peach tart and smokey bacon sticky toffee cake. Both were INCREDIBLE. The bacon cut the sweetness of the cake and paired so well with the cream. The peach tart was full of fresh sweet-tart peaches with vanilla ice cream and balsamic drizzle which added a very acid note to the crust and peaches and stopped it from being all one flavor. Beyond words!!! Cant wait to come back. Bathrooms were clean. They offer valet parking or there is metered street not far away and in the downtown area so you can enjoy more laguna beach when you're done. Can't recommend enough! However, was very frustrated about not being able to get anyone on the phone earlier otherwise would be 5 stars.

Yelp
Had a wonderful dinner here with visiting guests. Right on the water, inside and outside seating. Great service. Drinks were awesome and food was the best. Sunset on the beach, absolutely beautiful. Valet parking makes it very easy, parking is impossible in Laguna! I would definitely visit here again.

Yelp
We had dinner on a Saturday night. We enjoy this part of Laguna. Devon and Jonathan provided great service. The resturant is airy and bright. The clam chowder was thick with clams in the shell. It was well liked by my spouse, over the clam chowder at another Laguna establishment near by. The grilled octopus was flavorful with lots of different textures. I really the cream red sauce or paste it was sitting on. The representation of the food was clean and beautiful. We tried the broccolini and that was yummy with the pine nuts and chunky sauce (almost like a bruschetta) with cheese. Also ordered the surf and turf with mashed potatoes and asparagus. My steak was done to perfection but the lobster was a bit chewy. I didn't need the sauce since both items were seasoned well. Parking is valet and the attendants were friendly and quick.
google avatar

Jackie L.

Yelp
The Chilean sea bass was burnt for my husband and the sauce was not needed, didn't have substance to it. The crab meat wrapped sole on the other hand was outstanding! So much crab and food on the plate. There were three parties in the restaurant and it took a while to get our food. Our server didn't really come by. The drinks were good, the pineapple one for my husband and The Passionate One for me. We timed it to arrive at 5pm to see the sunset at 5:30 so it was perfect and making a reservation guarantees you the best seat in the house as a walk-in party of two wanted the table by the window that was saved for us! The dessert menu was passable so we did. Went to Irvine Spectrum's Bacio di Latte and got to walk off our dinner with free parking. Unlike Driftwood's $16 unvalidate-able valet parking fee.

Yelp
Definitely in my top 3! For starters the view makes your whole experience that much and more. Made reservations for a pre b day lunch for me after someone recommended this place and I wish I would have done them sooner. Went with several appetizer/starters: Octopus Oysters Flautas Fries Served with SB wine Service was impeccable! Always checking in and food was served with great presentation. Dessert was delicious I couldn't help but eat all that cake! From the Deck and now here both made it in my top 3! Love and can't wait to come back next time to try the dinner menu.

Yelp
Looking at the reviews prior to coming I was excited. Unfortunately, it was a disappointment. The view and service are probably the only two positives points I can mention. We ordered the Seafood Platter which was ok, but quite fishy and for $60 I don't think it was worth it. The Fish & Chips although massive in portion were not very tasty and overly breaded. The seasoned fries were the star of that show which is a bummer because we came for seafood, but fries. The Washington Mussels was where it went from not so great to disaster. It was so incredibly fishy and pungent, I could smell the dish when I was away from the table. Took a few bites and decided to cut my losses rather than get sick. It was definitely not fresh and the coconut broth tasted like dishwater. Wish I could recommend this place but I'd be lying. Safe to say, this is a one and done for us. Parking is easiest when you valet rather than look for street parking. So if you still plan on coming, I'd suggest valet.
google avatar

Janelle L.

Yelp
Picked this place to meet my visiting Chicago cousins. The view definitely delivered. Even if the food was bad the view would have compensated and balanced my rating. All of the dishes were plentiful and enough to share if you wanted. I ordered the lobster hash and had big chunky lobster pieces in every bite. Parking is tricky, there is none. There's a valet stand that you basically have no choice TO use UNLESS you're walking or staying at a hotel near by. Don't be confused when your GPS starts you wandering down back alleys, that's how you get here.

Yelp
Been here twice, we had the best server, the atmosphere and the views were amazing, and the food was just delicious! Enjoyable on so many levels. Great food with ample proportions. Pleasant staff. Oceanside dining with beautiful views. Sit outside or inside both have nice views. Make a reservation and relax. Valet parking only, $8/hour.

Yelp
Came here bc adjacent restaurant had a long wait. It's views and esthetic are quite lovely but the service was a 3 and the food was not good. Shakhuka was not well seasoned. The burger was burnt and also not well seasoned. I would say it's best for the view but not worth the food so maybe just come for a hang out and eat more substantial food elsewhere. Also parking is valet only bc its impossible to find street parking.

Yelp
The service here is absolutely amazing! We were running an hour late due to traffic coming from LA and they were totally understanding with moving our reservation later to accommodate for our new arrival time. We were so scared that we were going to lose out on our reservation, but they assured us that we would have a spot. Our server was also really great and friendly. The service definitely gets 5 stars for being efficient and so accommodating! We decided to come here for the views of the ocean and they did not disappoint. You can see the beach right outside of the restaurant, but the restaurant was not too loud even with the swathes of beachgoers below you. I ordered the fish and chips. The fish was really tender and flaky. But my favorite was the fries! They were so tasty. They had Old Bay seasoning, were crispy, but also were thick and fluffy. I can definitely see why the fries are highlighted as a favorite here! I asked for some aioli on the side and I would recommend asking for some to dip your fries into.

Yelp
I've been to this spot a few times for sit down dinner, brunch as well as drinks on the patio. It's always been lively, high energy and great views. - I recommend getting a reservation if you'll be dining. I found the food to be delicious but my favorite part was the patio seating right on the ocean. - In addition, their cocktail hour is super popular. Watching sunset from their outdoor space is a real treat!

Yelp
I absolutely love this place 10/10. It is my favorite restaurant ever!!! I spent my birthday here and also celebrated my 1 year wedding anniversary. It's not only the ambiance and the food that keeps me coming back but the hospitality and the WONDERFUL kind souls who work here and truly make it a memorable experience. A huge shoutout to my friend Tyre and Miss Hilary. Tyre is an outstanding one of a kind person who truly makes you feel like family. He's been such a joy everytime I'm here and not to mention every table near us is ALWAYS complimenting him and his excellent service. Hilary is an absolute gem and made us feel like we are regulars. Thank you both for your warm loving hospitality and giving us the best meal and memorable wedding anniversary dinner. We appreciate you more than you know!

Yelp

Yelp
What a cute little restaurant with a spacious deck and courtyard as well as a rustic wooden naval feel Bar and fireplace setting in this two story "home." Walking into the entrance make sure you go to the far right instead of straight down the deck ( a different restaurant). The entrance takes you a little galley and can see the traditional feel of a bar setting place right in the middle where you can see the ocean waves. We were created by the host and walked us to our sitting inside the patio. The spacious whiteness of the paint made the room much bigger. We were here for the Mother's Day AYCE and was quite pleased of the food. The smoke salmon omelet and the unlimited seared prime rib were the ones for me to devour first. The French toast sticks and pancakes were super filling. Love the salad mix. Sandwich was a bit filling but enjoyed the rest of the meal. I was expecting a bigger room for AYCE and glad we came earlier since the line started to backup by 11:30am on Sunday. Mom got her one glass of Prosecco and plenty of sodas for all of us. Dessert was a bit bland and didn't get to taste the carrot cake and instead had the red velvet. I didn't know that there was a photo of Jason Momoa right by the entrance. The fireplace was definitely a center of the facility, which makes you want to have a cocktail. Parking was definitely limited and valet was an option note it is $16 for parking for two hours and eight dollars afterwards $65 for the whole day. I would recommend parking on the street if you can find any. Overall grand experience which my mother enjoyed. The service was very attentive and the hosts made sure that we were enjoying the meal. Will come back for regular meals and cocktails the next time I am down.

Yelp
Fantastic brunch/ lunch spot with great views. Came back recently to try their seafood dishes and it did not disappoint! Everything was fresh and came out at a fairly decent time. Their espresso martinis were delicious and made strong. As for rsvps it was super easy to make through open table. There's limited patio seating, which is first come basis, and additional seating indoors

Elaine R.

Yelp
Came here with a friend to check out. Location is great, parking was easy since we got there early. Food was great got myself the French toast with side of potato's as well my friend. It got blueberry pancakes- they were mid. Ordered mimosas to start our morning, super strong but enjoyable! Wish service was better, the table behind was checked on more frequently than us, more attentive to others, but whatever. Overall good experience

Yelp
I just had dinner here this evening with my family to celebrate my husband's 40th birthday. They did not disappoint. Right when you walk in, you get a beautiful view of the ocean. The vibes were very nice. Our server Sam was phenomenal. He was incredibly friendly! Now the food. The food was incredible! Clam chowder - wow! Their Caesar salad was definitely one of the best ones I've ever had. The anchovy on top was a good touch. For my main course, I ordered the king salmon. That Thai curry and bed of veggies in it was amazing. My husband ordered the surf turf of filet and a lobster tail. That bernaise with the meal was out of this world! We will definitely be coming back next time we visit Laguna!

Yelp
I can't blame the restaurant but it was such a pain to find parking and valet is $16 up to 2 hours. We couldn't use valet because we had our small dog in the car and they wouldn't allow us to leave our dog due to some city restrictions for valet parking. The corridor was dark and narrow leading to the stairs going down. Use your phone flashlight. The food isn't bad but not great. The portions were small for the price. Get the bread rolls. Those were worth the $9. The service was great. Our waitress was super nice. You are paying for the ambiance. We would only come back for the view and definitely during the daytime for safety. Use your flashlights off the alley where the valet is stationed. Cars will not see you as they pull out of parking lots.
google avatar

Melissa P.

Yelp
The food and view are good but our service was underwhelming. They ask what occasion we're there for but the server did not mention us celebrating a birthday, so I don't understand why they bother asking. The table behind us got a happy birthday and a dessert from their server but our server did not bother with it so it was a little disappointing. We asked for a sorbet but we weren't even told the flavors and he was about to walk away until we asked about the flavors. So was he going to pick for us? All in all 3 stars and probably won't be back.
google avatar

Sarah K.

Yelp
We came here for a special occasion and it was so much fun! Beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean all around. The service was amazing and every one was so friendly. First stop was the bar for a scrumptious espresso martini then on to our table for brunch. Among the 4 of us we had chilaquiles, steak and eggs Benedict, steak and eggs, and the crab omelette. Everything was delicious with ample portions. Dessert was a bacon toffee bread pudding and a peach tart. We had to change our initial reservation and they were very accommodating. I'm definitely planning a return visit.

Yelp
Celebrated a friend's birthday here mid week in February and got a great outside table with a stunning view of the ocean. Service was attentive and they even brought a free birthday dessert to the table after we had lunch! Since they serve breakfast and lunch I had the most beautiful avocado toast that comes with a soft poached egg on top. I loved it and it filled me up! My friend enjoyed the Laguna Beach omelette but wasn't warned of the spice level of the tomatillo sauce on top and scraped it off. It's a bit off the beaten path but worth eating here and taking in the view! I'm so glad we came and would definitely return!

Yelp
Actually, I cancelled our reservation, because of the awful weather predicted for February 13--and prediction was correct. So no reflection on Driftwood Kitchen itself.

Yelp
It was a Cold Night after a Beautiful Sunset so I felt like some hot Clam Chowda with Tabasco and Spanish Octopus for dinner. Yelp
Had a wonderful brunch with friends at Driftwood Kitchen on the beach. The place is located right off the coast highway, and has valet service if you don't want to hassle with finding a space to park. The place is right on the beach, and had awesome views, from inside the dining area and also on a small balcony outside. The staff was attentive, and the food even better. They have a nice menu, great choices, and variety to choose from. My friends had breakfast and I chose the wedge salad...which was ah-mazing! Highly recommend.

Yelp
We ate at the Driftwood on Feb 11, 2025 for supper. We shared a variety of small plates including raw oysters, a Dungeness crab salad, and the shrimp cooked in garlic and butter. We enjoyed the meal but were aware that some of the shrimp seemed quite under cooked. Following the meal both of us were violently sick. It was clear it was food poisoning, confirmed when one of us saw a doctor after four days of illness. We called the restaurant to talk to manager to let him know, concerned that others might get sick. We also left a message on their website. The manager replied six days later. by email He told us that eating " fresh seafood on an empty stomach can cause diarrhea and vomiting which doesn't mean it is necessary food poising." I would definitely not recommend this restaurant but if you go, be sure to have a full stomach!

Yelp
Upon arrival, we were not greeted by the host with pigtails; instead, she simply stared at us until my friend initiated by saying, "Hi, we have a reservation." Once seated, our waiter, Pepe, was exceptionally attentive and courteous. He thoughtfully recommended various dishes, as it was our first visit. The lobster flautas were flavorful and crunchy and the accompanying avocado sauce was enjoyable. Our second server, Devon G, was kind, engaging, and displayed a warm, bubbly personality. Overall, the food was excellent. We tried the seabass, lobster carbonara, and shrimp scampi. While the dishes were well-prepared, I disliked the crispy rice served with the seabass in my opinion. The cocktails were impressive--highly recommend both the Passionate and the Seven Seas. Arriving around sunset enhanced our experience, as the view was truly stunning.

Yelp
This restaurant was awesome!!! A bit on the expensive side sure, but totally worth it. I believe there's valet parking but my family and I found street parking. We got here after the sun had already gone down but I imagine the views during the daytime are beautiful. Appetizers wagyu potstickers and brussel sprouts + shishito peppers were great! I wanted a virgin cocktail and the waiter recommended the nye tai was the best thing there made as a mocktail so I went with it and it tasted great as well! We also got the port wine poached bosc pear salad. This was okay, we did have to cut a lot of the salad up ourselves to share so that was a little annoying but it tasted alright. My boyfriend and I got the lobster carbonara and I got a New York steak. We split our entrees so that we could taste both dishes, but indeed both were excellent! There really are lobster bits in the carbonara and the pasta was cooked al dente. Dessert was awesome too! Apple tart is warm and you have to pay an extra $4 for a scoop of ice cream on top. Chocolate ice box cake was interesting, it has a very soft consistency which was unexpected since it's made of wafers? We were there celebrating a marriage and the newly wed couple got complimentary champagne from the restaurant which was a sweet gesture. Overall awesome experience and would totally come back here for dinner if I am visiting Laguna Beach again :)

Yelp
This is such a cute little spot! I love the decor and loved the simplicity in that it looks to fit right into the surrounding neighborhood. It was a little chaotic arriving as the host area is not in the best spot of the restaurant but we eventually got seated. My friend and I did have reservations which I was glad we made because it can get quite busy. Driving into Laguna is a feat on its own so much better to get here earlier. We got seated by the water and it was a nice warm day! I would love to come back during dinner and see the sunset. Our drinks were delicious. My friend enjoyed her bloody Mary and I had "The Passionate One" which included gin, Prosecco, and passionfruit puree. It was tart and refreshing. For food, we ordered the chilaquiles, laguna beach omelette, and of course we needed to try the pancakes! The chilaquiles were surprisingly spicy (for two latina girls), and the omelette had so much crab in it! The salsa on-top added that right amount of acidity. I definitely could have used more blueberries in the pancakes but they were nice and fluffy and the melted butter didn't make it too soggy - but i am suck for saturated pancakes. I would love to come back

Yelp
I've been waning to come to driftwood for a LONG TIME- usually I end up going to the deck or somewhere else close by but this week it was rainy so it was a PERFECT reason to stop by here. We tried the chilaquiles and the laguna beach omelette both were good but the star of the show was my espresso martini! It was amazing. The staff was also very friendly and attentive. Highly recommend- I'll be coming back for dinner at some point! Only thing that could've been better was the breakfast potatoes I like them a little crispy but overall great experience and delicious food !

Yelp
Driftwood Kitchen is more like an experience than a restaurant. The place is bright and airy with a fantastic ocean view. The staff was all super friendly and provided excellent service. We did not feel rushed at all. We got to eat, drink and enjoy the view. Lots of good choices on the drink menu. The food was amazing. My husband had the omelette. It had lots of crab in it! I had the fish & chips which was so good! The beer batter was light & flaky and very tasty. I would be happy to visit again!

Yelp
Mehhh this was an okay experience. As others have said, the view and the staff were really the only redeeming factors. Really gorgeous view of of the sunset from every seat in the house and the hostess and my waitress were super friendly. That being said, there were multiple families with children who were running around the restaurant and yelling, my dry martini had far too much vermouth, and my seabass wasn't great and definitely not worth the price. I was hoping for a more upscale experience and was sadly disappointed.
